Ballard knocks Backes down with an open-ice hit. Backes gets up and challenges Ballard who accepts. They drop the gloves, remove the helmets, and square off near the side boards. Backes connects with two jabs before they even grab onto each other. Ballard flails away and finally gets a piece of Backes' jersey. Ballard throws three rights to the side of Backes' head. Backes answers with a right cross during the flurry. Ballard then pushes Backes to the ice and the linesmen are right there to break things up.

Keith Ballard flips Barret Jackman upside down with a hip check along the boards. Brewer goes right after Ballard, grabbing ahold of him and pushing him from behind. Boynton skates over and grabs Brewer. They drop the gloves and Boynton throws two quick rights. Brewer answers with a right. They spin and around and exchange rights until Boynton loses his balance and falls to the ice. Boynton tries to stand up and Brewer misses with a right, causing him to fall down. Boynton falls on top of him and gets in a short right just as the linesmen are jumping on top of them. Other Penalties: Each player received a roughing.

Hordichuk sends Jamal Mayers into the boards from behind, causing King to take exception and grab Hordichuk. They drop the gloves and immediately start going toe-to-toe with rights. King gets the better of the exchange. Hordichuk continues to throw while King shakes off his elbow pad. King switches to the left and the two start going toe-to-toe once again until they end up against the glass. They tie up and King takes Hordichuk's helmet off before connecting with a short left. They then each throw one last right hand before deciding to hold on until the linesmen come in.

Behind the play they find each other and decide to drop the gloves. They grab ahold of each other, pause for a moment, and then start going back and forth with rights. Shelley knocks King's helmet off during the exchange. They tie up in close quarters and King takes Shelley's helmet off. They go toe-to-toe with rights for a second and King follows up with one more after Shelley stops throwing. Shelley throws a right that misses and they grapple in tight. King gets in a left and two short rights in close. Shelley responds with a short left. They each throw a right to the back of the head just before the linesmen move in. Shelley skates back to the dressing room.

Mayers throws two more and then follows up with yet another right until Boll returns fire with a short right. They exchange rights and Mayers then flips Boll to the ice. Boll ends up on top and decides to stay on top of Mayers until the linesmen lift him up. Other Penalties: Boll received a misconduct.
