Whoa! Downey wouldn't go with Walker in the last game? I watched that game and it was the other way around, and there were opportunities. It's much easier to pound on Franzen and look tough. I'm not a huge Downey fan and I agree it was weak, but come on!

Downey can be a tough little sh*t sometimes. Surprised he so easily handled a much bigger fighter.

It's a small battle center-ice.
Downey landed one nice shot plus got Walker down to the ice.
He had better control in the end.
EDGE DOwney.

How can anybody give either a win? After the initial hits when they both latched on, not much happened. Downey didn't land a single blow after they grabbed hold of each other. This is a draw.

Downey is one rugged hombre,he hits Walker with a solid left where Walker buckled a bit. That was pretty much it in this one,Downey with the decision.

Downey wins. Downey made a clean hard hit on Salvador and Walker wanted to be a jerk about it.

I LIKE THE FIRST PUNCH WHEN THEY LOCK UP, DOWNEY JACKS HIM WITH A LEFT, AND WALKER HIDES HIS FACE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE FIGHT, LOSES HIS BALANCE, AND ITS OVER, GOOD JOB DOWNEY,

that was a crappy fight. Downey just wrestled him to the ground. How can people give him a win?

Not a good fight by either one of these two. I'm a Blues fan, but not a big fan of Walker. He serves the role decent enough, but can be a defensive liability. As far as the posts on this sight...Detroit fans are obviously really desperate for a tough guy if they think Downey dominated this fight. It was a draw in a crap fight that was over before it began. And for Wings1 to say typical Blues fan and to look up from the bottom, we are in second place, very far from Detroit I'll agree, but a good turn around from the previous few years. But to sit there and with nothing better to do than to insult Blues fans is actually quite pathetic. Lucky for your guy that DJ King did not get a hold of him. Hopefully Detroit will finally get someone with the sack to stand up to some real heavies, until then, enjoy your Euro style hockey and leave the fight recaps to those of us who have real heavy weights on our team.

crappy fight, downey has been with half the teams in the league for a good reason, big heart but not big enough to go toe-to-toe with the big boys. walker is ok, if the wing fans think that fight makes up for last game, forget it, if franzen doesn't want to fight, then don't run guys face first into the boards. it is that simple.

Downey delivered the payback message.

First let me say that I am a Blues fan. And second let me say the Wings are and have been a great team for years now. But if the Wings want to protect their talent they should look at signing a player other than that midget Downey. Walker is a big marginal fighter and Downey did a good job not to lose but I cant give a win to either-off balanced hugfest. Missed punches dont count. Walker should be embarrassed. DRAW. Would like to see King go but that will never happen at a Redwings game.
