Both threw alot of rights, but i feel King landed more shots to the face unlike Godard to hit the helmet. Very suprised Godard wasn't KO'd.

Posted by Wolf_eyes on November 26, 2007 at 03:09 AM

Great fight. Done the way its supposed to be done, by two guys with guts enough to do it right, toughness enough to take the shots, and class enough to skate away at the end. Great example of what fighting SHOULD be in the NHL. Edge King, landed more punches. 12 solid punches to Godards 9 by my count.

Posted by Screaming Buffalo on November 26, 2007 at 03:41 AM

Great fight Both fighters were throwing bombs and neither went down so I give it a DRAW.

Posted by DARCY T on November 26, 2007 at 03:17 PM

Great bout! To all the huggers and wrestlers, this is a hockey fight!

What a great fight!!!

Posted by Jack Schitt on November 26, 2007 at 10:29 AM

Great tilt. Camera angle at start made it hard to see if Godard's punches were landing. I give it a draw.

Posted by Poop Jack Pappy on November 27, 2007 at 07:19 PM

Very good bout. The best I have seen in a while. Draw

Posted by BStreetBullies on November 26, 2007 at 02:06 PM

Great fight. King looked to land the best shots early in the fight, but this one was just too even to call. Draw here in a great toe to toe fight between two monsters.

Posted by jackmcc100 on November 26, 2007 at 02:12 PM

Great scrap, one of the early nominees for fight of the year

Posted by Nightmare on February 10, 2008 at 11:54 PM

Good fight. Classic center ice toe-to-toe. I gave it a draw because I have alot of respect for this kind of dangerous, gutsy exchanging. King however seemed to be more accurate and pronounced as he almost always is. Real heart from both fighters...

Posted by aces50 on November 26, 2007 at 10:35 AM

WOW one of the best this year.Draw all the way!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by NoKnuckles on November 26, 2007 at 08:28 PM

Really good fight. Just throwing and very little grabbing.

Posted by pesadillamal on December 02, 2007 at 09:30 AM

Clear draw here. To call it something else is a crime against humanity.

Posted by shrk33 on November 27, 2007 at 01:27 AM

nice toe to toe fight between two pretty solid guys. Hard to pin a loss on either guy.

Posted by Juha82 on November 26, 2007 at 03:04 PM

A great show, toe to toe style. The end was wrestling as Godard tried to get free. He tried a few uppercuts, first landing. King tried one, but don't land. Godard landed one to the neck of King. Another similar one and it was over. A draw in my eyes.

Posted by BigPapa08 on February 24, 2008 at 03:51 PM

Love if when the heavies hold on and throw like the middle weights do, draw, awesome fight.

Posted by powpow on November 26, 2007 at 08:11 AM

WOW....fight of the year candidate there. I have to call it a draw, hard to pick a winner when two gladiators go like that. What a great tilt!!!

Posted by Tilty McTangle on November 26, 2007 at 05:57 PM

A great scrap. Nice to see a couple guys actually throwin em, not hugging until 1 arm gets free. No edge here. Complete draw.

Posted by hatandm on November 26, 2007 at 04:37 PM

Great Fight. Gotta score it a draw, merely because no one was Ko'd. King keeps putting on some exciting bouts. How can you not love the kid?

This is how fights are suppose to be.

WOW! What a hockey fight should be, and what they used to look like. Two tough SOB's throwing bombs. One of the best fights of the year. My hat's off to both guys. A well deserved draw.

a draw in a great fight. both with big shots. no loser in this fight.

Posted by TBLightningGuru on November 30, 2007 at 09:47 PM

Hell of a fight. Wanted to give the win to King but Godard fought well enough to not get the loss. Draw.

Posted by PAYDAY on November 26, 2007 at 09:30 PM

F'n awsome! I call it a draw. Props to Godard for taking a few big blows and coming right back.

Posted by Eric Godard vs. on November 26, 2007 at 10:49 PM

I love hockey !!! draw. eric will fight any one, and has in only a short time.look at his fight card lots of big name big time fighters give him a few years under iron mike and he could be the most experinced and feared fighter in the league.

Posted by Philly_fighters on November 29, 2007 at 11:42 AM

Great Fight! Wish there were more like this. I have to call it a draw, both guys get in some great shots.

Posted by Trudy14 on November 26, 2007 at 11:10 AM

Great fight, both landed good shots. Draw.

Posted by Sluggo_2008 on November 26, 2007 at 10:11 AM

That's what a Hockey fight should be! Wouldn't feel right giving anyone the winner in that one. GREAT FIGHT!

Good scrap

Posted by zkrisp on November 30, 2007 at 03:05 PM

Goddard was good...both were good actually..both had good punches..i chose goddard to win because he was punchnig himself at one point and that was good punishment..:)

Posted by DetroitIan on November 27, 2007 at 05:50 PM

WHAT A SCRAP! I love seeing those kind of fights. Screw the clutching and grabbing. And just start throwing bombs. Gotta give the edge to King in this one. Both guys definitely landed some good shots. But King landed 1 or 2 more. Great job to both guys. It was a pleasure to watch.

Posted by oakley on November 26, 2007 at 09:44 AM

good action announcers say the punches were missing their targets but i am not so sure about that sure looked like King got Godard with a few heavy shots

Posted by SirYohans on November 26, 2007 at 05:56 AM

Damn, King was furious in this one and gets my vote here. But I am more impressed with Godard for being able to take punches and still going for it all. That's why I think that Godard and Orr are the best fighters in the league nowadays because they go for it T2T and it makes their fights most entertaining. Some argue that Laraque and Brashear are best but in my opinion them brothers like to hug and alot of their fights are booty butt. And by that I mean they look like those awkward hugs with the asses out...~SirYohans~

Posted by TwisterTime on November 26, 2007 at 11:06 AM

Excellent fight!! I give it to DJ all the way! Godard looked as though he was shaken a bit by the left right combo for a sec, and that was the deciding factor for me..

Posted by aj99ny on November 26, 2007 at 10:38 AM

Great toe to toe. King landed more though

Posted by hockey doc on November 26, 2007 at 08:24 AM

I had to watch this fight six times before I could pick a winner, edge to King.

Posted by billyganser on December 01, 2007 at 06:55 PM

King landed more solid shots. Good fight for both though.

Posted by es330 on November 26, 2007 at 12:15 PM

Good fight - both throwing nice shots. King gets the win because of more punches connected, but it wasn't lopsided. Both guys got in their shots.

Posted by bostonrs555 on November 27, 2007 at 10:19 PM

Posted by rwargo24 on December 04, 2007 at 09:43 PM

Gotta give King the nod. Both fought fairly equal, but if you watch the replay, King let's loose a flurry of rights that land followed by a decent left that lands. Other than that it was pretty even.

Posted by oilersfansylvan on November 28, 2007 at 08:09 PM

Now that my friends is a good old time hockey scrap. Thumbs Up to both of these guys, none of this HUG-A-THON. DJ landed more, but no dissing Eric he threw.... Well Done Boys

Posted by bustoff on November 26, 2007 at 07:34 AM

One of the best fights so far this year. Two big guy's going t2t.

Posted by canamrugby on November 27, 2014 at 08:46 AM

Was going to go draw but the slo-mo at the end seemed to show King landing just a bit better. Surprise W for King and a 9 in a close one.

Posted by Avs Junkie on November 26, 2007 at 01:47 PM

Win to King. Godard said I've eaten enough of your knuckles and my face is still sore from the beating Parker gave me.

Posted by bigbranden on November 26, 2007 at 03:50 AM

great fight! DJ is getting better every day now. godard is a usally a better fighter but he did not land any of the first heavy punches in this contest, so I give it to DJ. he did throw some good haymakers at the start.

Posted by cambec on November 26, 2007 at 05:52 PM

great fight.

Posted by billy jack on November 26, 2007 at 05:38 PM

great fight,no hugs, just getting it on,is big goerge watching,he may learn what entertains the fans, actually getting it on and letting it all go.

Posted by domiruled on November 26, 2007 at 02:43 PM

both fearless, thats how you fight!........send tape to zach stortina

Posted by mikebflorida on November 26, 2007 at 10:13 AM

DJ King wins this fantastic fight. He landed the better punches and more of them than Godard who also gets major props for taking some huge hits. Great fight.

Posted by Boogeyman2383 on October 22, 2008 at 10:48 PM

Great Fight. Lots of big blows landed. I gotta give the slightess edge to King because he had his helmet on for all the fight. I'm not sure how many of Godard's punches actually made contact to the face.

Posted by Sublimezx on December 03, 2007 at 05:06 PM

Great fight. Great comeback from DJ to take the win. He definitely landed more solid ones.

Posted by mcdonald on December 04, 2007 at 05:12 PM

After 3 or 4 shots to his face, Godard was trying to hold King at arm's length. More of King's shots did damage. Close fight but the edge definitely goes to King.

Posted by EvilVirus on June 17, 2009 at 02:48 PM

Great fight. King was more accurate with his punches and lands more. Edge to D.J. King.

Posted by sniperlanoza on November 27, 2007 at 02:09 AM

King landed more...

Posted by dicsally on November 26, 2007 at 02:37 PM

Slight edge King

Posted by hughtrain on November 27, 2007 at 01:41 AM

Well, I am biased here (being from STL and all), but King with a very slight, slight edge (did you see how far that helmet went!!!!) These two are fearless competitors. Sorry Flames fans but maybe if Goddard buckles up the chin strap tighter, we have a draw

Posted by sutter11 on November 26, 2007 at 03:46 PM

Typical King fight, the guy loves to throw them, none of that hugging crap. The guy doesn't bleed, can take a punch and you aren't going to hurt that huge melon of his. Another win for Kinger!

Posted by lemu66 on November 26, 2007 at 10:43 PM

great bout - more connections for king

Posted by wildfan4eva on November 26, 2007 at 01:20 PM

Sweet brawl here folks !! Both landed shots but a narrow edge towards king !! Both did a pretty damn good job though !!

Posted by Blues58 on November 26, 2007 at 07:10 PM

Great that's how you do it.

Posted by Phyrkrakr on November 29, 2007 at 03:44 PM

Great fight. King all the way for the first half, but Godard got in a couple of late shots that made it a lot closer. This is what hockey fights should look like. One note: This happened in the first 2-3 minutes of the game, and I think this might've been both players' first shift. That's partially why they were so fresh. The Hinote fight was shortly after this one, within the next minute.

Posted by pynkfloid3 on February 07, 2008 at 11:40 AM

great fight king landed more power punches

Posted by KingKong19 on February 20, 2008 at 09:21 PM

This, in my opinion, is one of the best, if not the best, fight of the year. I think they both connected about an even amount of times, but I think King on a couple instances, had some better shots. King gets the W, but Godard with the best L of the year for me.

Posted by snowdogg on November 27, 2007 at 02:20 AM

I call draw

Posted by bigbirdsflyn on November 28, 2007 at 06:02 PM

Posted by kitcarnut on November 27, 2007 at 08:09 PM

Posted by rocky7482 on November 26, 2007 at 09:43 AM of the best scraps of the year....these 2 guys are scary good....both have good balance, defense, and fast fists!

Posted by scanz30 on December 13, 2007 at 02:12 AM

how could u pick a winner in a fight like that

Posted by bobnknoxville on November 26, 2007 at 05:41 PM

That was one of the best fights i have seen this year.

Posted by STL13 on February 15, 2008 at 02:29 AM

A LOT of missed punches that would have been a KO either way if they had landed. I have to call it a draw D.J. "almost" met his match and Godard did very well here.

Posted by RyanU on November 28, 2007 at 09:17 AM

Edge goes to King.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 02, 2015 at 12:06 AM

Haymakers galore!!! Good fight by both guys, but I have to give King the slight edge.

Posted by muskokadangler on April 15, 2010 at 05:27 PM

Holy crap Godart took some HUGE shots no matter what the stupid announcer says!!!!!!

Posted by eggers on November 27, 2007 at 11:13 AM

Great scrap, both throwing bombs, King just landed more big shots.

Posted by BobGassoffFan on May 24, 2008 at 06:18 AM

Great fight again, between these two, I say D.J. won. They were both throwing bombs, but King's were hitting.

Posted by FHgrad99 on January 28, 2016 at 03:21 PM

Wow, this was a heck of a fight. Both guys were throwing a lot but I felt like King landed a little more with his bigger shots. I gave King a very slight edge here but I think the fans who saw this were the real winners. This was a good one.

Posted by geoffro on November 27, 2007 at 12:44 AM

i gotta hand this one to king. hes a tough little rascal.

Posted by trpaulson on November 27, 2007 at 03:44 PM

WOW Great Fight. Cant wait til' we get DJ back on the Blues.

Posted by The Peach on November 26, 2007 at 11:41 AM

king is fearless, he goes up against one of the fastest punching heavyweights and doesnt flinch. called this one a draw, but godard backed off after the first 20 seconds, he knew king was not getting tired and had already landed 2 or 3 good shots.

Posted by Gunslinger on November 28, 2007 at 10:00 AM

This is how a fight should be. Lots of bombs thrown and who cares is none landed flush. It was entertaining and I love both of these guys.

Posted by Icanstillgo on November 28, 2007 at 02:03 AM

Great scrap...thanks for the entertainment boys!
