Oct 10, 2007 Nashville Predators Darcy Hordichuk
1pd 02:48 St. Louis Blues D.J. King
Hordichuk sends Jamal Mayers into the boards from behind, causing King to take exception and grab Hordichuk. They drop the gloves and immediately start going toe-to-toe with rights. King gets the better of the exchange. Hordichuk continues to throw while King shakes off his elbow pad. King switches to the left and the two start going toe-to-toe once again until they end up against the glass. They tie up and King takes Hordichuk's helmet off before connecting with a short left. They then each throw one last right hand before deciding to hold on until the linesmen come in.

Win King.

King's size advantage definitely played a big part in this bout. He was able to move Darcy around at will. King is for sure the winner here, but honestly, not one of his punches did ANY damage to Hordichuk. But King still gets the "W" in this one.

I agree with the announcers, I haven't seen King lose one yet. I see him eventually taking Laraque's crown, but not just yet. I also liked the very respectable ending to this Hordichuk knew he was beaten and King knew he was the winner to they patted each other on the back and went to the sin bin.

THAT was worth the price of admission! It was a 10-9 split, but I gave it to King.

A good fight without doubt.
I haven't nothing against clear win, but i think that King(next king of the fighters) didn't land enough well of his punches.
Hordi too replied with some punches and he dodged of King punches.
Not a great shots were thrown.
A couple nice punch by both.
A clear narrow win to D.J.King.

Good fight. I gave the win to D.J King (as i would expect) but Darcy, as usual, accquitted himself well. That late flurry of lefts by King clinched it for me. A very good heavyweight battle with both men showing well.

If King is going to contend this year, he needs to beat the Hordichuks and us usual Darcy did just fine vs the superheavyweights..........so both guys did their "job" King enforced and Hordi started it by throwing a big hit on Mayers.

Darcy Hordichuk vs D.J. King

Darcy Hordichuk puts a big hit on Mayers along the boards, and King comes over and they drop the gloves. King starts off with a flurry of about 6 or 7 solid rights, while Hordichuk is struggling to get free. Hordichuk comes back with some solid rights, while King throws some solid lefts. King switches back to his right, hitting Hordichuk's helmet with a few of them, and they go up against the glass. After that, King rips Hordichuk's helmet off, and they both exchange a couple more punches. Then, they both begin to tire, and decide to stop fighting, the linesmen didnt even have to separate the two.

Great toe-to-toe tilt here, Im giving the win to King for landing more punches

DJ King is one of my favorite fighters now. Not a Hordichuk fan but he hung in there.

Solid win for DJ.

King did very well against Hordi shaking the rust off in his first fight of the season.

King wins. Darcy never got started. By the way, that was a clean hit on Mayers whose guilty of a lot of not-so-clean hits.

DJ can throw em with anyone there is playing in the NHL today, but I don't think a lot of people realize it. The kid can play hockey, so I don't think he or the Blues take his position on the team solely as that of Enforcer. A couple years ago Peoria sent him down to play a few games for our ECHL club, the Alaska ACES, and he showed a lot of skill and good hockey sense...he never fought once. This was a good fight, but DJ wins it against a proven foe!

DJ King is a beast! Both fighters faired well and showed great respect with each other at the end. Edge to King however.
