As a Pens fan I have always regarded Cote as one tough customer. Godard is certainly more entertaining in his role taking over for Laraque.

I give Godard a slight edge in this one. These guys will be going at it plenty I'm sure, with most bouts probably being pretty even.

man i love Cote....he is mr action and seems incapable of having a boring fight.....he is like a Vandy or PJ type of throw back fighter...when he rolls he wins some and loses some but the crowd always wins when he fights

Godard gets the win in an intense T2T

I'm a huge Flyers fan, but Godard definitely gets the win here with that haymaker at the end. Amazing fight though and very entertaining.
I hope to see more rounds of this all season.

Fight of the year so far! (yeah, I know it's early)
Singlehandedly solidified my respect for Goddard, and increased my appreciation of Cote in one fell swoop. Nice to see even the die-hard Flyer fans, tippping the cap to the Penquin winner in a close one. Bring on round two asap.

I'd call it a draw, I couldn't really tell if that last big haymaker from Godard connected or not. I love both those guys. That fight blew the Boll/Barch fight out of the water.

Either Godard has a rock-hard chin, or Cote was throwing pillows because his punches didn't hurt Godard at all.

This is a real good reminder why we're all watching this action on our computers and not in the mix with them. I for one would have been out cold if I'd taken any of those punches from either guy.
5 more games.... oh boy!

Great fight by two great fighters... good to see Godard going toe-to-toe. Hope to see more of these two against eachother in the future. Win by an edge to Godard for the late bombs.

This should be FOW. Very slight edge to Godard for the "W". Cote does well just lands a few less shots than Godard who puts an exclaimation piont on the win with a late haymaker.

Great fight, both guys threw everything they had at each other

Godard wins on the strength of that last punch. Good old-fashioned fight between two of the toughest.

They both gives their all, 10 for fun.
EDGE Godard.

I don't think Cote even considers defence in his bouts, he is so wide open that you are just waiting for him to get floored. Having said that he never stops throwing and his all out style makes the other guys wary. It was when things slowed down and Godard was able to measure him up a bit that he got in trouble, but he is the most entertaining guy out there. Barch and Boll doesn't come close, these guys were hitting to hurt, and are another level up on the fight ladder.
