Great fight. Both guys were swinging and both landed some great punches. Orr wins because he landed more, and his first punch dropped Cote. Still a very close fight.

Posted by BENNETTWOLF on November 16, 2007 at 03:33 PM

Very Good fight. I gave Orr the win as he did well early and late with the exciting Cote having a good run in the middle. Spirited, long fight with both men getting good shots in. I just think that Orr landed a few more.

Posted by BattleAxe13 on November 16, 2007 at 12:54 PM

I guess we can blame the Philly fans for bringing the draw vote to over 30% Colton Orr had the advantage the entire fight, landed the harder shots, landed more shots and knocked Cote down at the beginning. I give Cote, a smaller fighter, credit for going toe to toe with one of the better fighters in the league but credit of courage does not lead to a draw or a victory in this fight.

Posted by The Don on November 19, 2007 at 12:37 PM

Orr charges at Cote and throws a huge bomb that hits shoulder and Cote falls to the ice. They go T2T for a while and both tire out. Cote is bleeding around the left ear and goes to the back for repairs. Draw in a pretty good fight.

Posted by mckendo83 on November 16, 2007 at 08:46 AM

Cote connected with just as many bombs. Draw...good fight

Posted by dcmac on November 16, 2007 at 09:01 PM

Draw, good show by both players.

Posted by Sukoshi84 on November 16, 2007 at 11:41 AM

blah blah blah go read the message board from last night for this game fuckin funny as hell....... solid draw bitches

Posted by mbaumann on November 16, 2007 at 01:46 PM

Gotta call this one a draw, great fight though. Both guys are badasses. Where is the Jim Vandermeer vs. Rick Nash fight from Wednesday?

Posted by mikebflorida on November 16, 2007 at 09:20 AM

Great fight. Both players were dog tired and both standing at the end and agreed to end it with class. Both threw and connected with bombs. A solid draw if I ever saw one. Impossible to determine a victor in this one.

Posted by buchockey221 on November 16, 2007 at 10:15 AM

WOW what a bout! these two droped bombs. GREAT FIGHT! hope to see more of these kind of fights. ITs a draw for me.

Posted by NoKnuckles on November 16, 2007 at 05:27 PM

Both landed some good shots in a spinfest of a fight.

Posted by Brashearfan on November 16, 2007 at 07:27 AM

Great fight. I definitely give the edge to Orr, but Cote is becoming very impressive this season. Every fight he has is exciting whether he wins or not. This should be a great matchup all season long.

Posted by BStreetBullies on November 16, 2007 at 11:59 AM

Another entertaining bout from Cote.

Posted by Juha82 on November 17, 2007 at 02:33 PM

A great show. Orr early, Cote middle, even end. A draw.

Posted by DetroitIan on November 16, 2007 at 02:01 AM

What a scrap. I had to watch that fight a few more times. Real close bout here. I had to go with a draw. I don't think anyone can say either guy had the clear win. Not only did both guys land shots, but they both landed powerful shots. Neither guy really looked too tired. This one was definitely a draw.

Posted by dunno on November 16, 2007 at 05:49 AM

Wow, close fight but it was an awesome one

Posted by nofx8881 on November 16, 2007 at 10:09 PM

I honestly don't know how anyone can say Colton Orr won that fight. Cote went down at the beginning and once he got up it was pretty much all Cote. Riley took some shots but he nailed Orr quite a few times. Orr got his helmet knocked off and then took a big shot at the end. I almost want to give the edge to Cote but I'll say a draw. But seriously...Orr did not win this fight. I don't see how that conclusion could be made.

Posted by sniperlanoza on November 17, 2007 at 11:51 AM

I love Riley. He's a beast. He has no fear. He took Orr's best punches and came back to deliver his own. What a gamer he is. Great fight, I gave the first third to Orr and the last third to Riley, the middle was a draw.

Posted by Habs # 1 on November 16, 2007 at 05:00 AM

great scrap boyz

Posted by dansal55 on November 19, 2007 at 06:16 PM

Don't know if that first one from Orr landed or not, Cote might have just lost his balance. Let's suppose it did land, I give even more credit to for popping right back up! GREAT GREAT SCRAP! We need more guys throwin' like these two, not the Brashear bear hug or the Janssen swing to miss (and I'm a Devs fan). Orr has proven to TOUGH, and willing to take on all comers. Cote's willing too, but I don't think he's in the top class of fighters. Lots of heart, though. And for those of you proclaiming Orr to be a TOP TOP heavyweight, check out some of his old fights, getting rag dolled by BGL and a draw with Mike Rupp, who's not that great a fighter. I called it a draw. Great show.

Posted by avolante0371 on November 16, 2007 at 01:50 PM

i gonna call that a draw..but WOW Cote took about four bombs which would knock most guys out and even laned a few...

Posted by Rebel Banker on November 16, 2007 at 09:25 PM

can someone be fighter of the year w/o actually winning a fight??? cote has atleast 3 of the best fight this year...

Posted by bney7 on November 16, 2007 at 05:23 PM

Go to the thread and watch the first punch in slomo it was clearly to the shoulder, but IMO Orr early, Cote late. DRAW

Posted by eggers on November 20, 2007 at 04:00 PM

I score this one a draw. The first "knock down" was more Cote falling because he was skating backwards at the time so to me that is not a true knock down. The rest of the fight was very even and both landed good punches. No clear winner from what I watched. I want a re-match!!!

Posted by goaliefighter on November 16, 2007 at 10:22 PM

Great fight, Cote seems to have the most entertaining bouts so far this year. I still dont think that first shot hit Cote above his shoulder pads. Nevertheless, Orr threw and landed more. Great to see fighters going toe-to-toe. I cant wait to see Cote with some of the other big boys out there. Let's see how long he can keep this toe-to-toe with bigger fighters going on.

Posted by Dirty Harry on November 16, 2007 at 06:50 AM

I like Cote's spirit but I have to give the edge to Orr in this one for landing the first big punch tha had Cote down. Credit to Cote for getting right back into it.

Posted by Formerref on November 16, 2007 at 04:37 PM

Give the win to Orr but not a walk over like some Orr fans on this site think it was. He landed more but Cote got quite a few in also and came on at the end. Good fight.

Posted by Diehardfan419 on November 16, 2007 at 01:35 PM

Orr drops Cote right off the bat with another BOMB. Give credit to Cote for getting back up and trying, but Orr's sledghammer did some more damage after that. Cote got a couple of decent shots in the middle, but Orr pounded him at the end again. Cote had to leave the game as his face and left ear were bloodied. Orr clearly wins.

Posted by Gunslinger on November 18, 2007 at 07:12 PM

Another fight recently for Cote where it actually looks like he knows what he is doing. Orr still won by alot but Cote is starting to show that he may be learning, which is good news for a Flyer fan like myself.

Posted by dbakes on November 16, 2007 at 09:59 AM

Orr knocked Cote down with the first punch. They then traded some heavy blows before Cote was able to neutralize Orr's right by grabbing his shirt sleeve. Orr eventually managed to land a few more, albeit weak, lefts. Orr got in the heaviest and most blows. Decision Orr.

Posted by toytiger on November 16, 2007 at 10:32 PM

hate the Rangers but really am starting to like this Orr

Posted by chl37 on November 16, 2007 at 08:07 AM

cote the best of the flyers gives his best, but he's not there yet. clear win for orr who is good but not a top heavyweight.

Posted by capsfloors on November 17, 2007 at 10:10 AM

Win Orr.... Big bomb to start..... credit to Cote to getting back up and getting back in the fight....Orr is too much for Cote period.... gonna be a long year for Flyers until they get a legit heavy...Hey Hockey Doc your homer slip is showing! And Brennank you are a complete idiot!....there is a salary cap you ass! If your team doesnt want to spend up to it then your team is at fault! What a bonehead you are!!!!

Posted by The Ripper on November 16, 2007 at 01:16 PM

really good bout! Edge to Orr but Cote is making a name for himself. He knows how to throw em!

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 08, 2013 at 11:49 PM

That was a regular old slobber knocker! Good fight with Orr recording the win.

Posted by Travis24 on November 18, 2007 at 06:06 PM

Great fight. I am becoming quite a fan of Cote.

Posted by titans04 on November 16, 2007 at 03:19 PM

Orr continues his run of decking guys in O+B, don't get those that think he was knocked down by a punch to the shoulder, seems like a little denial from the philly fans. Cote's fights are sometimes entertaining but he's won very few if any of them this year. He's ate a good amount of Orr's fists.

Posted by Bleak5170 on November 17, 2007 at 08:40 AM

Easy win for Orr. That first punch was a thing of beauty.

Posted by headcharge on November 16, 2007 at 12:45 PM

Helluva donneybrook - give it to Orr by a nose, or a cut ear.

Posted by ColtonOrrNYR on November 16, 2007 at 09:27 AM

Edge for Orr... Cote did a nice job towards the middle to make it close, but that is as far as it goes.

Posted by Redtown on November 17, 2007 at 09:40 AM

Very good scrap. Orr with the bomb to knock Cote down at the beginning of the fight. Trading blows all fight with Orr switching to lefty to end the fight. Win Orr

Posted by shrk33 on November 17, 2007 at 02:12 AM

Good solid bout, Orr takes it with a flurry towards the end.

Posted by IMPEACH on November 16, 2007 at 04:07 PM

Cote never never never never wins. His fights are entertaining, but he's another Fedoruk waiting to happen.

Posted by ItalianHunk21 on November 16, 2007 at 07:08 PM

Damn... Orr started out with a nice punch right off the bat! It was kinda close, both player threw a lot of punches, but Orr edged him! Good fight!

Posted by SCOTTSO on November 16, 2007 at 07:38 AM

GREAT FIGHT,STARTING TO REALLY LIKE COTE,,GOT HIT WITH A "FEDORUK" AND STILL GOT UP AND THREW BOMBS WITH ORR ,DECISION THOUGH GOES TO ORR

Posted by Fred Briggs on November 16, 2007 at 10:40 AM

Orr's a tough guy and that first punch put Cote on the defensive for most of the rest of the fight.

Posted by kasparaitis6 on February 19, 2008 at 06:52 PM

first punch drops him but then it goes back and forth for a very good fight, win for orr for the first punch and cotes bleeding ear

Posted by richard smith on November 16, 2007 at 09:31 AM

Huge comeback for cote

Posted by teabagger on November 16, 2007 at 11:57 AM

Call this one a draw, but give Cote a big thumbs up for coming back and giving back every bit as good as he was getting!

Posted by hockey doc on November 16, 2007 at 01:40 PM

Orr is a lame heavyweight, he should dominate middleweights the same way Brashear and Laraque dominate him, but he doesn't. Cote has more guts than Orr ever thought of having. Orr gets the edge for a win though.

Posted by muskokadangler on April 15, 2010 at 05:23 PM

Orrs the man!!!

Posted by bhamill on November 16, 2007 at 12:55 PM

Nice fight, credit to both guys. Win to Orr since he landed more/harder punches, knocked down Cote, and openned up Cote's head. TON of heart in Cote, got up and got right back into it. No quit in these two. I want to call it a draw, but really gotta lean to Orr.

Posted by foiledup on March 01, 2008 at 11:47 AM

What a great fight. Orr with the win but it was very close. Cote landed some very nice shots.

Posted by lostit23 on November 17, 2007 at 07:32 PM

Nice tackle by Orr ????

Posted by rocky7482 on November 16, 2007 at 10:13 AM

Great scrap! Orr gets the victory, but Riley shows a lot of gumption getting up after getting levelled early.

Posted by JDForCommish on November 16, 2007 at 03:04 PM

Be careful what you wish for Riley. He has been calling out Orr since the KO of Fedoruk and took some serious shots in this one. Lots of guts on his part to get back up and land a few of his own but lets be honest if Orr was a classless goon he would have not let Cote even get back up. He gave him the chance to get up and fight again. Cote has a rock hard chin but if he keeps fighting like this he's gonna have a very short career. This is not a movie and you are no Rocky Balboa. As for Orr if he ever even had the slightest bit of balance he would be as tough as they come but he is awful on his skates. my guess is if they were playing street hockey nobody would even think about messing with Orr.

Posted by averybear on April 08, 2008 at 12:38 AM

I admire Cote's guts he gets back up from a haymaker, Orr is one of the best in the league...edge Orr

Posted by thescotsman1 on December 14, 2007 at 12:09 AM

Great fight, marginal....very marginal victory for Orr. Cote got a little cut as well as taking that stunner at the beginning and end of the fight, but I would have preferred that someone actually go down for the count. The refs runied that one. Go Orr!

Posted by penguinsfan123 on November 16, 2007 at 07:27 AM

knockdown and more punches landed give the win to orr for me and that was a knockdown

Posted by SirYohans on November 19, 2007 at 10:42 PM

GOTTA LOVE HOW SOME OF THESE FANS VOTE ON THIS SITE. MESSING UP THE PERCENTAGES BY CALLING THIS A DRW OR A WIN FOR COTE. Cote got knocked down at the begining (and of course they say the punch only hit his shoulder.) Then Cote is bleeding from the ear at the end (and they say it's because he cut himself shaving that morning.) LETS BE 4 REAL NOW... I'm a Ranger fan and i voted against Dubinsky when L. Richardson knocked him out. (I didn't say he slipped and fell because a fan threw a banana peel.) They might be Flyer fans that are in denial or maybe better yet they are ISLANDER FANS WHO COME TO HATE ON THE T2T RANGER BOUTS because their fights are lame hug fests (if they ever get into them) and their best fighter nowadays is TIM JACKMAN! HAHAHAHA! Love U... ~SirYohans~

Posted by J C ALVARADO on November 17, 2007 at 02:16 PM

3 FLYERS UP, 3 FLYERS DOWN COURTESY OF COLTON ORR. HE SENT FEDOREK PACKIN, SHAMED BELARUSE, AND SENT COTE DOWN HARD. BUT OUT OF ALL THREE, I GIVE COTE A LOT OF RESPECT. HE IS TOUGH AND CAN HANG AND HE IS NOT A CHEAP SHOT ARTIST LIKE THE OTHER TWO CLOWNS. GOOD FIGHT BUT ORR WON FROM THE BEGINNING. MORE PUNCHES AND A KNOW DOWN EARLY ON.

Posted by bostonrs555 on November 16, 2007 at 07:25 PM

One of the best fights this season!

Posted by Nightmare on February 13, 2008 at 01:19 PM

Orr with the close decision in a power-punching slugfest. He got the better shots in and showed slight control of the battle. Nice job of switching hands. Great stuff from Cote as well in a very close one. Highlight-reel fight here.

Posted by J-Roc 16 on April 09, 2010 at 08:32 PM

Orr owned him so hard.

Posted by Plateworker on November 16, 2007 at 12:42 PM

Orr with more punches landed, A partial KD with a shouder/side of head hit and he bloodied Cote's ear from the second viciuod right he hit him with. That said you have to like this kid Cote he is a real entertaining fighter willing to go T2T Win Orr

Posted by The Peach on November 16, 2007 at 01:36 PM

nice brawl. cote hung in there, orr landed several huge shots but cote maneuvered nicely and landed a few choice shots of his own. advantage orr, but cote was impressive and showed he can take a punch and still throw.

Posted by jd99gtNYR on November 16, 2007 at 11:34 AM

Whether or not the first punch got Cote's shoulder first, it still caught him in the side of the head and Knocked him down. Cote showed great toughness by getting up and putting on a good showing. Orr still gets the win for the early knockdown and throwing and landing a bit more throughout the fight! Win Orr!

Posted by cabsf15e on November 18, 2007 at 02:49 AM

This fight wasn't as close as some of you may think, albeit was a great fight. Cote's face got used as a punching bag for a good deal of the fight, and when he (Cote) landed a punch it was ineffective. Orr wins this fight hands down by landing both rights and lefts, pretty much at will!!

Posted by goonery31 on November 16, 2007 at 11:00 AM

Great fight !Thats what a hockey throw down should look like.Gave slight edge to Orr.Im thinking these two will have more tilts like these in the future

Posted by dave25 on November 16, 2007 at 03:41 PM

great fight, one of the best this year

Posted by clmetsfan on November 18, 2007 at 08:58 PM

Great scrap between two really good fighters. Orr had the clear edge at the start with the one big blow, then kept it throughout most of the fight as most of his punches were landing and Cote's weren't. Cote made it closer with that one good shot to Orr's jaw at the end, but it was too little too late. Edge goes to Orr.

Posted by mAnYsTyLeS on November 17, 2007 at 07:22 PM

Great fight. Great first power punch (OMG) - not too many guys can knock someone down on the first shot if they don't hit the face. Also, Cote's head got bloodied so it's obvious Orr gets the win. Plus I love the Rangers and I hate the Flyers (I like the city of Philadelphis though). I give props to Cote though - he's a pretty tough kid. Rangers RULE mother f'ers!!!

Posted by tristan16 on November 18, 2007 at 01:59 AM

Cote got pissed after a good knockdown but Orr wins. I think Fedrodenko punch rings a memory how fast Orr can throw a punch. Boom!

Posted by BooSanta on December 08, 2013 at 11:05 AM

Attended this game in '07 and probably the best fight I've seen live. The Colt landed a beauty that would've been a death knell right for any other pugilist, but Rocked and Socked Riley is the Tex Cobb of Hockey fighters. The Zebs knew this and let him get back up. The exchange was brutal from both afterwards and we got our money's worth. Never seen the Colt take such vicious lefts as he wouldn't have guessed his perennial punching bag would punch back. The Colt squeaks out this highly competitive bout.

Posted by Bettman must go on November 16, 2007 at 10:13 AM

Slight edge Orr.

Posted by NYR-Enforcers on November 16, 2007 at 03:36 PM

good bought between these two, this is deffinately one of many to come. orr had the cote on the back foot right after the 1st punch but cote did well to fight back and had some vey good shots, orr landed early and at the end throwing some real haymakers though. cote really seems to making a name for himself so far but i give this one too orr. GO RANGERS !!!

Posted by R_Wick33 on January 20, 2008 at 05:44 PM

Cote was fed his dinner early tonight, Win Orr

Posted by slshbleed on November 16, 2007 at 06:39 AM

Cote makes the move of the year. One of the best ways to tie a guy up is to get a grip in the wrist area rather than the shoulder area. In the middle of the fight, Cote grabs Orr's sweater sleeve at the wrist (while Orr is throwing a punch) with his left the transfers it to his right hand and the Cote starts throwing lefts. He looses the grip soon after, but I have never seen anybody pull that kind of a move off at high speed. Cote took some shots, but he punched his way back into the fight. Very impressive fight for both guys. Win for Orr, but Cote showed a lot. Hope they fight again soon.

Posted by egdirdle6667 on November 17, 2007 at 04:19 PM

Cote was throwing but Orr clearly got the best of it!

Posted by byrnewa on November 16, 2007 at 03:46 PM

Win for Orr but this Cote kid can take a shot

Posted by stmartian2002 on November 19, 2007 at 12:11 AM

I think this one could be up for fight of the year, back and forth and no quit in either guy. Way to go for both guys, goin out and providing a spark for their teams. Great spirited bout!

Posted by wildfan4eva on November 17, 2007 at 02:10 PM

very entertaining !! I think orr had cote , but only very slightly, i mean yeah he had the initial knockdown, but cote got right up like a champ and started wailing back, so in this case even though orr had the points card, they both were aggressive and throwing haymakers, i give the edge to orr, but Cote, i wouldnt be dissapointed man.. you kicked ass as well !!!

Posted by buddha on November 16, 2007 at 02:19 PM

Great fight! Orr knocked Cote down with his first shot so I gave him a very slight edge. Both guys were loading up!

Posted by stevkrause on November 16, 2007 at 10:38 AM

GREAT bout - Haven't seen one this good in a long time - Edge to Orr who landed more of the damaging shots, but only by a hair, he got the first stunner which dropped Cote, but Cote got up and landed some whoppers - Both landed amazing shots and this was one hell of a go

Posted by ploplopfizzfizz on November 16, 2007 at 12:22 PM

Great battle.I am a huge flyer fan but i give Orr the edge.

Posted by Beowulf58 on November 16, 2007 at 02:39 AM

I watched this fight 3 times. Man it's fun to watch to brawlers go to war!! Good, close fight but I gave it to Orr for that first solid shot and the fact that Cote had to leave the ice with a cut. Very impressed how Cote got back up after that first shot and kept going.

Posted by Heavy Right on November 16, 2007 at 03:13 PM

Let me hear any of you Philly homers say Cote got this one. HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE OOOPS Cote got the bell rung on punch number one and he couldn't even hear it because his ear was full of blood.

Posted by thegreg on November 16, 2007 at 11:46 AM

orr slammed him like a door

Cote did a great job coming back after those first few pinches by Orr.

Posted by bobnknoxville on November 16, 2007 at 08:55 PM

Orr lit Cote up on the first punch but Cote got back up and kept on plugging away.Good fight.

Posted by redwhiteblue on November 16, 2007 at 07:06 AM

Great fight. Clear win for Orr.

Posted by Zodijackyl on January 20, 2008 at 05:02 AM

Orr landed more hits, and better hits. His first swing took Cote down, and he dominated, though not unanswered.

Posted by KnuckleBuster on November 16, 2007 at 11:07 AM

Orr's first punch was not a knockdown...tape clearly showed Cote going backwards and the shot put him off balance. Still, a great scrap and both landed some heavy artillery. Cote has a chin made of cement...if he gets a bit more finesse in his fighting style, he's going to be a force for a long time.

Posted by hoorock on November 19, 2007 at 10:02 PM

I almost gave it to Cote here as he looped two really solid lefts in the middle of the fight and a nice one near the end. Orr had a good shot to start it, but didn't do a whole lot of damage after. Very good fight with both guys looking sharp and no clear victor. I always like it when they don't do a lot of arm and jersey holding. Just let 'em fly!

Posted by Nordberg on November 19, 2007 at 11:46 AM

Orr on points--quality scrap though..

Posted by Colt.45Orr on November 18, 2007 at 11:10 PM

Credit to Cote for getting back up and hanging in there... but Orr wins this fight by controlling it for 75% of the time.

Posted by CocoQuaker7 on December 31, 2007 at 04:40 PM

Orr wins this one. I haven't seen Cote win a fight yet.

Posted by kocurfan26 on November 16, 2007 at 07:31 PM

Orr whipped his ass. Who in their right mind voted for Cote? Points for having the balls to fight orr but still got the loss.

Posted by WildFan27 on November 16, 2007 at 05:31 PM

Good Solid Fight! It would have been better if Cote didn't fall right away, though it was still due to a nice shot.

Posted by chris_mcallister on November 16, 2007 at 11:48 AM

Draw in a great exchange between two "heavyweights". I hesitate to call Cote that since he gives away 25lbs to most guys.

Posted by Dmac11 on November 16, 2007 at 12:10 PM

Cote has wanted a piece of Colton for a while now. Be careful of what you wish for, because Cote got hit by Colt of lightning last night

Posted by Flyers5532 on November 16, 2007 at 07:18 AM

Great fight i was at the game! Orr did not knock him down with a punch he kind of rushed in on him and he fell. I hate the rangers but Colton Orr is a good fighter and they both took a lot of heavy shots. Cote fought his way back into this one........DRAW~

Posted by brennank on November 16, 2007 at 08:43 AM

It takes a tough guy to fight and that is what these 2 did was fight! The only way you can score this is a draw!!!!! It is not like Cote hit Orr and put him to sleep like Luke did!!!!! How much is the Rangers payroll? I do not know but they hace a bunch of cheap girls!!
