Great job by Engelland. Way to stand it like a man and give some back.

Posted by mavrck22 on November 15, 2010 at 08:30 PM

All i was hearing about is how Engellund beat down Orr....this fight was CLEARLY dominated by Orr until Engy landed his ONLY blow that DID drop Orr....Does one lucky punch really count? I'll let you be the judge.....if Engy doesnt land that blow its an EASY domination win for Orr

Posted by bigjack on October 14, 2010 at 04:48 AM

Orr land 6 punches, this guy Engelland lands one good punch and everyone has him winning! How the hell is that reality? Every hear of a guy getting knocked down and still winning a round!

Posted by Buckster on October 14, 2010 at 11:29 AM

Orr gets caught but his style of fighting with wreckless abandon makes him the most exciting fighter in the league. He comes to throw punches and he will get caught from time to time. I'm a bruins fan and I wish they had never let him go

Posted by spc24 on October 13, 2010 at 10:58 PM

I'd call it a DRAW. Engelland finished it with a nice cheeker but Orr had more punches throughout the scrap. Orr was to excited with his beauty goal.

Posted by TheDustBuster on October 14, 2010 at 10:07 AM

Engelland's a lucky little bitch, not taking the win away from him but that'll never happen again, my boy orr has his number. Since this is my first post I'd like to clarify to everyone that you're all soft and this is my site now.

Posted by egdirdle6667 on October 18, 2010 at 08:04 PM

What do you expect! Win every time out, orr at least throws and entertains every time out! Not many like him out there that can say that!

Posted by Clowes ABeast29 on October 13, 2010 at 10:57 PM

Ill say the same thing when i first saw the video... "Why didnt he fight godard? Well engelland is hanging in there probably going to tie up and leave it as a drrr OHH SHIT!!!" hahahahahha

Posted by gregthehammer on October 18, 2010 at 10:41 PM

I'm gonna have to give this one to Colton. He dominated this fight from beginning and middle. Engey got lucky with a blind punch. That doesn't make him a winner... it makes him lucky. Colton is still heavyweight champion. Ali got knocked down, Tyson got knocked out, Roy Jones got knocked out and joe brown got knocked. All the great heavyweights will get knocked down one time or another. This won't affect Colton's legacy.

Posted by nycbob on October 14, 2010 at 09:53 AM

sloppy from Orr. He gets lazy, look at where Engelland starts that punch, Orr should have had time to light a cigarette, smoke it, and still get out of the way. I'm Ranger fan and love Orr. But if he wants some more practise hes got Boogard on Friday. everyones ducked Boogard so far - Gillies, Le Blond - maybe Orrs brave and stupid enough to oblige????

Posted by Bad Dawg on October 14, 2010 at 09:37 AM

Wake up Colton, you ain't the toughest kid on the block! who the H is Engelland?!

Posted by Heyzeus on November 13, 2010 at 12:20 PM

One in a million shot for whats his name...I'd still bet on Orr if they fought again, which knowing Orr Im sure they will..

Posted by SCOTT59 on October 14, 2010 at 07:33 PM

wow nice overhand right

Posted by leeban on October 14, 2010 at 09:06 AM

Orr gets dropped WOW .. Orr was handling him up till the point where Orr moved dudes helmet off his head then Orr put his face out in front and pop. Never heard of Engelland .. Orr will fight him again next Leafs vs Pens game thats what Orr does. Loses 1 comes back and wins the next. I think im shocked just cause its early and Orr got knocked out by someone who is relativly new to me.

Posted by shawn46 on October 14, 2010 at 11:30 AM

Engelland....... k-boom.... he said he wanted to get to his game and get notice... i am sure this did just that...

Posted by staceyb on October 15, 2010 at 05:53 AM

Ka-boom! Orr erred in tangling with Engelland. He stuck his mug up there bigger than the moon in the sky and he got tagged.

Posted by Westcoast_Goon on October 14, 2010 at 11:51 PM

Boom. Nighty Night Colton.

Posted by Big_Goon on October 14, 2010 at 09:44 AM

Wow that was suprising! You fight enough times eventually you're going to get caught, Orr got caught. What's not surprising? The Orr fans still finding a way to see this as him winning... Clear TKO and win by Engelland in a good toe to toe scrap.

Posted by DARCY T on October 17, 2010 at 03:56 PM

very lucky win for engelland.i think orr took it little bit easy on engelland at the end after beating orr handed to him and engelland caught him off guard

Posted by lb1631 on October 14, 2010 at 04:06 PM

wow I love watching orr fight but he lost this one big time. He has a problem with penguin fighters.

Posted by Jellyczar on October 22, 2010 at 02:47 PM

Orr lost. Careless? complacent? He lost.

Posted by Bruins17 on October 26, 2010 at 08:24 PM

Orr would have won the fight...up until Engelland put him down with a right to the kisser!

Posted by hal29 on October 19, 2010 at 09:30 PM

engelland is a chump and it was a lucky punch. anyone can land one punch, look at kleinendorst and neely. neely got popped in the first fight but neely shredded scott's face in the second. carkner popped orr and orr got him back everytime since! it was one punch you cannot question his toughness. orr's problem is he reckless. how many people think kocur was the toughest in that error? a lot and he got dropped one punch by bob McGill and needed help getting up.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on October 13, 2010 at 09:18 PM

colton orr got smoked. why wasnt colton orr smiling after this fight? answer: because he got SMOKED.

Posted by rowbearprobear on October 13, 2010 at 10:18 PM

Win Orr lose, Colton is the man!!! He is hands down the most entertaining hw in the game.

Posted by RRSM53 on October 14, 2010 at 07:18 AM

yeah fantastic i love seeing the big bad Colton Orr get a little bit of payback. Outstanding he took on someone who he didnt know alot about. Pop and down he went..............................................

Posted by Hoovermac on October 13, 2010 at 11:17 PM

Reminds me of the fight Orr had against Shelley last year. Orr threw some nice ones, followed by a monster by Engelland. Edge Engelland, and the next matchup between these two will be interesting!

Posted by HaWKeYToWNusa on October 14, 2010 at 12:24 PM

Orr goes down!! Engelland well deserved win.

Posted by C-7Enforcer on October 13, 2010 at 11:56 PM

I wish my guy Orr fought some in pre-season because he is not at his best yet and he again didn't protect himself. His fights are always a blast to watch but he must protect himself better. New kid with the win!!

Posted by ScarbroSaint on October 14, 2010 at 07:28 AM

I was watchin this one happen felt bad 4 england thought man this guy might get hurt ... well i was wrong Long season 4 orr? needs some D

Posted by kronvallizer78 on October 29, 2010 at 06:50 PM

Wow what a sluggfest this early in the season Engelland caught Orr right on the button in this one. No cheapie no nonsense no fluff just throwin em huge bombs. bout of the season so far

Posted by 5fourfighten on October 14, 2010 at 04:56 PM

WOW!!! What a shot. There's a new kid in town! Orr goes down Orr goes down.

Posted by HMai802915 on December 18, 2010 at 09:18 PM

It was beginning to look that Orr was going to over power Engelland but the BIG E got him good with that right hand. Good Fight but the win goes to Engelland.

Posted by fiveminmajor on October 14, 2010 at 02:10 PM

I hate to see a good fighter get taken down by a out-of-nowhere punch. Maybe Orr will be more careful next time and just keep throwing.

Posted by lmbovill on October 16, 2010 at 01:00 PM

Engelland was getting whooped, until those last few punches. Win Engelland

Posted by Bluesfan72 on October 13, 2010 at 11:35 PM

Damn. That last punch was wicked! Orr is gonna be feeling that one for a while.

Posted by TraverseCity on October 13, 2010 at 10:28 PM

Posted by twisterella on October 16, 2010 at 01:55 PM

orr was having his way, up until Engelland's last punch, he stole the victory

Posted by FHgrad99 on December 18, 2010 at 12:21 PM

Orr was getting the better of Engelland early and then Engelland gave him a heck of a right to the chops and down he went. Engelland beat a tough customer in this one.

Posted by penguins own on December 21, 2010 at 10:05 AM

it was a close fight at one point... then orr's wheels came off

Posted by dangeroushockey on February 26, 2011 at 12:16 PM

This Engelland is the toughest kid in the league right now!

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 09, 2013 at 03:21 AM

Great fight , both guys toe to toe until Engelland unloaded on Orr!

Posted by crashandbang on October 15, 2010 at 10:18 AM

Looks good on Orr, funny didn't see him skatin off the ice with that stupid smile on his face lol He got tuned cause he doesn't know how to defend. He's goddamned lucky that wasn't Godard or he would have played his last game. And what idiots voted for Orr, oh let me guess the same dickheads who think the Leafs are contenders after 3 games, get real and get off the meth! @Bigmouth ooops I mean BigJack-off, your boyfriend got tuned in idiotstick, when you get Ko'ed by your opponent your usually the loser! We have enough blind Leaf morons on this site, we don't need anymore. Orr isn't even Top Ten people, wake the fuck up....Boogaard bitch slaps little Bobby oppps I mean Colton everytime

Posted by TieClark on October 15, 2010 at 10:50 PM

Question Orr's elite status? Take it easy... Orr is so dominant because of his total disregard for his own safety. He just swings for the fences. He's going to get caught sometimes, just like Carkner and Shelley caught him last year. But the fact remains, he rarely loses a fight.

Posted by von_swine on October 13, 2010 at 11:11 PM

beauty right.

Posted by riffraff on October 14, 2010 at 01:17 AM

colton will be straw sippin and shield wearin for a while. deryk dislocated orrs face. looked like orr was waddling back to the bench with a bag of marbles in his mouth thats what happens when you swing wide and leave your chin open for the taking. that camera angle was great ..slow mo it and add that super slow audio you know what i mean. engelland looks like hes been in the ring.

Posted by alayhockey on October 14, 2010 at 05:34 PM

my opinion is that pound for pound colton orr is the toughest guy in the nhl but he got careless and got dropped, nice job by the kid even though i hate the pens. GO WINGS!!!!

Posted by mr hockey on October 14, 2010 at 07:13 PM

ha ha Orr got his lunch handed to him i cant stand him he has no game KO Engelland WHO???

Posted by brad houghton on October 14, 2010 at 08:18 AM

Have to admit I didn't really know who Engelland was and I was watching the game on TV and thought he bit off more than he could chew...funny thing is I thought He" was going to get dropped then.....doink he lands a bomb and down goes Orr......solid TKO win against one of the best

Posted by OriginalSix on October 14, 2010 at 01:16 AM

WOW, Orr sure is becoming the TKO fairy these days. A nice WIN for Engelland.

Just like the Maple Laughs....pummelled into the ice!

Posted by hammerhead88 on November 04, 2010 at 11:29 PM

Engelland hung in there and Orr (as usual) got too cocky. A BOOMING overhand right to the chops knocked him out! Great Fight!

Posted by StanFischler Jr on October 14, 2010 at 09:42 PM

Orr got dropped. Orr more often than not beats Engelland Orr is not the HW Champ as he gets beat too often. My lord, the guy could not win one fight against Brash, including last year on MSG ice in his return to NY. He's a very good fighter and perhaps will continue to improve and be the champ but I just don't ever see him being the man.

Posted by Spug on October 14, 2010 at 04:42 AM

The way Orr opens himself up in his fights, I can see this happening to him a lot this year. With how stiff the competition is in the East with all the HW's, this could be a rough year for him. I like Colton but his reckless style means he has to land first, if any of those haymakers he threw would've connected the situation would have reversed, but alas, this is what happens when you're Colton Orr and dont land your punches first.

Posted by jaybird6401 on October 17, 2010 at 01:05 PM

great fight orr landed some good ones but ended up on his ass!! which i loved to see. Engelland show great toughness and a nice overhand right straight into orrs cock holster

Posted by KADWAR on October 14, 2010 at 06:58 AM

down goes Frazier!

Posted by Bigford83 on October 13, 2010 at 11:08 PM

Did Colton Orr really just get KTFOed by...Deryk Engelland? The only thing I can think of is that Orr maybe got a little careless thinking he was fighting a "nobody" (no offense meant to Engelland, and he certainly won't be a "nobody" after this!). Or maybe Engelland is just that good. Whatever the reason, what an upset.

Posted by Dave Brown HOF on October 19, 2010 at 04:33 PM

That's what I call a knockdown. That punch was thrown with his whole body behind it with great extension and follow through. Engelland is a tough kid. He doesn't fight as much as he maybe should because when he does, he's really good at it. I've seen a bunch of his fights and he doesn't lose very often and that's to lesser opponents than Orr. He stepped up a class or 2 here and dropped a top 5 guy in the NHL. Well done. How anyone can vote for Orr is laughable and they should be banned from the site.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on October 15, 2010 at 05:00 PM

it was Orr til the KO. W Engelland

Posted by moneybags on October 14, 2010 at 03:36 AM

what happened colton? lights out

Posted by Traverse on October 14, 2010 at 09:03 PM

TKO. Engelland knows what he's doing. He was down on points but he had a trick left in his hat, he tried it and it worked out ever so well. Look what he does with his LEFT hand between 0:25 - 0:27. That's a crucial move which was as important as the bomb with his RIGHT that followed. It disabled Orr's right hand and set the stage for the winner punch. Great job Derryk!

Posted by upyours on October 13, 2010 at 09:46 PM

What a punch! Orr is a top heavy with a record to prove it. The impressive thing about Engelland here is that he withstood what Orr could bring, hung in there and delivered a bomb. He didn't showboat about it afterward either ( unlike Lucic does after beating some midget) he just got up and skated to the box. Nice work.

Posted by bruiser11 on October 13, 2010 at 11:58 PM

Englelland impressed me here! Perfect example of how anyone can beat anyone on any given night in a hockey fight! Orr usually leaves himself wide open cause he's a free swinger, usually he decks dudes fisrt but Englelland got to him here!

Posted by millwright1966 on October 14, 2010 at 11:21 AM

Engelland with the win......Orr may have thrown more punches but Engelland can take a punch better than Orr who can't handle the big punches

Posted by bradyj4 on October 15, 2010 at 03:51 PM

WOW!!! As a big fan of Colton Orr I'm shocked that this rookie dropped him. Good Scrap. I had Orr winning until the final blow! Round 1 goes to Engelland! We'll see if Orr goes agains the Boogie Man tonight...

Posted by Spinner55 on October 15, 2010 at 08:57 AM

Colton Orr fought like Bobby Orr in this one.

Posted by Towmater on October 14, 2010 at 01:46 PM

No hand wiping by Orr after this one, good night Colton.

Posted by rocky 1 on October 14, 2010 at 02:00 AM

I would call this a KO Leaf fans. Can you say concussion!Isn,t it great to see a fight where the unknown guy beats the known tough guy!The bully got bullied. The other night some leaf fan called MacIntyre a pretender and said wait till he fights Orr who by the way he already beat ,so what does this mean Orr is! I mean he gets ko,ed by an unknown middle weight HAHA! Never listen to the announcers saying that Orr won 23 fights last year.Actually Orr had 23 fights but only won about 50 percent. Not really the top of the league stat right!

Posted by montrealerz27 on October 14, 2010 at 10:21 AM

wow...first time i see orr getting rocked like that....thumbs up for engellaqnd...i will remember that name....and hope thant our gm in montreal see that because we need that kind of player

Posted by bruins rule on October 13, 2010 at 09:37 PM

Posted by SgtKenney on October 14, 2010 at 09:49 AM

Wow, hell of a fight, Engelland surprised me with that knockdown at the end. Very close fight, Orr landed the most shots, but Engelland finished him off at the end, and that's what counts.

Posted by detroitish on October 15, 2010 at 07:43 PM

huge right.

Posted by mashya on October 13, 2010 at 10:19 PM

Orr's a top heavyweight???? hahahaha

Posted by slavv on October 14, 2010 at 10:49 PM

Engelland did well against the veteran and gets the TKO...

Posted by 45skyfire on February 01, 2011 at 10:00 PM

So you Leaf fans still think Orr is the Champ...more like chump

Posted by msaw1125 on October 14, 2010 at 04:25 PM

Orr went looking for it, and unfortunately found it! You think Colton took a beating here, wait until Friday night when the Boogey Man appears!!!

Posted by Raoul Duke 708 on October 14, 2010 at 12:23 PM

Engelland by KO.

Posted by The Mob on October 14, 2010 at 07:12 PM

Goes to show you that throwing a bunch of wreckless punches doesn't win a fight. Dangler....Orr didn't win against Carkner either. I actually watch a fight before commenting. A hockeyfight forum is for those who are in the know. Raise the bar dude. As a leafs fan, Orr has no business wearing Domi's number fighting like that. You can't be a heavyweight champ and leave yourself open like that.

Posted by GaryBusey on October 15, 2010 at 12:38 PM

Englund-BOOM!

Posted by yngblonde1 on October 14, 2010 at 01:18 PM

Orr got beat up by an AHL player before Godard got the chance to do it..I think the Pens have a nice physical team with Engelland,Godard,Rupp and Asham when he is healed up..All the Pens need now is a goalie with good eyes. The "Flower" stunk at the end last year and stinks presently..he is 0-3 & I believe needs Lasik or contacts.......Good butt thumping of Orr though by Engelland

Posted by Paul_from_NoVa on November 04, 2010 at 12:54 AM

Engelland cold-cocked one of the heavyweights, who to that point had the upper hand but didn't inflict much damage. Nice scuffle.

Posted by st. bernard on October 18, 2010 at 11:16 PM

engelland in a big way

Posted by hsvj60 on October 30, 2010 at 08:57 PM

they got it on and Dave put it on o'l Orr and had one helluva shot at the end to put it away not even debateable...

Posted by fernben8 on October 14, 2010 at 12:47 PM

These two have a history in the minors so would I consider this a lucky Win for Engelland...not really. Will have to disagree with some who are saying Orr got careless...but would rather credit Deryk for the great one-two combination. Orr's eyes looked dazed ++ skating off. Good job boys !

Posted by cigaros on October 19, 2010 at 10:49 PM

Who voted for Orr? C'mon!!! Popped in the kisser and goes down backward. He lost! A boxer goes down for 10 count after one punch, he's done. Engelland with the win.

Posted by spinner21 on October 14, 2010 at 12:54 PM

nice bout, Orr was winning in my opinion until the knockout blow

Posted by Punchdaddy on October 14, 2010 at 11:20 AM

I would say Orr all the way... till he gets TKO'ed. Sweet.

Posted by micky buchanan on October 14, 2010 at 01:03 AM

What a friggin punch by Engelland on a very tough guy,as good a punch as you can throw. Can you say SNAP goes the head, man he rocked him.

Posted by RogerNYLA on October 14, 2010 at 02:57 AM

When Orr got up, he asked the ref for his PJ's and slippers.

Posted by ProbieForever on October 14, 2010 at 12:19 AM

Orr must have been hungry because he swallowed the entire knuckle sandwich.

Posted by Chaserfan39 on October 14, 2010 at 08:03 PM

Deryk holding on to knock Orr O-U-T

Posted by mactee on October 14, 2010 at 12:11 PM

I love how people are calling this the "Big Knockout" on colton orr. Nobody has been "Slain". Orr was dummied last year by shelly and carkner, and he bounced back. thats why he is one of the greatest, nomatter what the outcome, colton orr will drop them, he's a warrior.

Posted by Pads on October 13, 2010 at 09:33 PM

Orr early giving Engelland some good shots but then Engelland lands won on Orr's kisser knocking him down. Engelland with close win. If he keeps fighting like this who needs Godard??

Posted by UrSidsBitch on October 13, 2010 at 10:50 PM

Posted by sbutler05420 on December 09, 2010 at 05:06 PM

Engelland Delivered the KO punch but Orr mostly held his own. Engelland easily wins after Orr gets careless against a good fighter

Posted by RetepAdam on January 03, 2011 at 01:34 AM

I was about to give this one to Orr when Engelland scored the big one.

Posted by RichardsFan91 on February 07, 2011 at 04:22 PM

orr early, but man engelland just demolished the face of orr, i love to see orr go down, hes someone that is not needed in hockey anymore, goon days are over, cause we all know, colton orr doesnt know how to play hockey

Posted by Darkstone42 on February 03, 2011 at 01:24 PM

Great back and forth bout. Engelland got the last and the best blow, though.

Posted by fenians79 on February 01, 2013 at 12:26 PM

Who voted Orr and why? He got knocked the F out!!! Clear win Engelland.

Posted by Great Murray on January 24, 2016 at 06:37 AM

That right hand of Engellands is like Ali's overhand right. It has KO stamped on it. Orr ate a couple while he was winning the fight and then BOOM...lights out...he was definitely was on queer street when he got up. Great fight!

Posted by Bruins29 on October 19, 2010 at 11:54 AM

Win for Engelland, landing a right hand bomb to Orr's mug and putting him down. I like Colton Orr - good fighter and overall entertaining player. But he needs to learn to grapple more and avoid some of these haymakers he gets blasted with on a somewhat regular basis. It won't take long until the blows to the head catch up with him and he lands on the long term IR with concussion problems. He wins a good share of fights, but when he loses, man...he LOSES!

Posted by E_S_A_D on October 14, 2010 at 08:30 AM

This is not a surprise to me. I used to watch Engelland in his days with the LV Wranglers and he always had a monster right. He doesn't just rabbit punch, but throws all the way from the back to front. When these connect, people drop. It's that simple. He's one of the most underrated guys in the league and this will get his due notice.

Posted by dropem69 on October 14, 2010 at 09:27 PM

Orr didnt have anyone on the ropes!!! Orr got DROPPED.......

I'm sorry boys...those who like Orr... Engelland can handle himself and maybe not an elite fighter however when all is said and done this season he will be well respected in this league!

Posted by scorp1on on October 15, 2010 at 06:34 AM

Orr looked to have this one well in hand and Engelland was ducking and dodging most of the time although he didn't seem to lose any steam in the process. Towards the end Engelland tried to get a grip on the jersey near Orr's throwing shoulder which forced Orr to shift his right side back. Swinging from way back he missed one then turned back in defense. While Orr was reloading, Engelland was messing with Orr's left side which delayed Orr for a second. By the time Orr was ready to launch another bomb Engelland had already reloaded and the incoming piston met Orr's chin at full force, managing to hit the light switch. Down goes Orr. Both showed sportsmanship just seconds after the tree fell.

WOW !!!!, not only did he KO he took his best shots. Deryk is a force.

Posted by BooSanta on November 01, 2010 at 07:07 PM

Good exchange between the 2, then the Colt throws a dud that grazes Engelland before getting pummeled by Engelland's overhand right, the same one that made the Colt famous when he flattened The Fridge 4 years ago. Orr manges to skate away from a fight that he almost had and a fight that almost shortened his career. Leaf and Pen Fans mark your claendars for the rematch. This Engelland appears to have one of the best rights out there now.

Posted by simonfan1996 on October 14, 2010 at 05:25 AM

put colton orr on his anus!!!

Posted by flyerguy on October 14, 2010 at 01:50 PM

Engelland K.O's the biggest dirt bag in the NHL LMFAO. Orr either wins big or gets knocked out by leaving his face wide open and I hope he does more of it.

Posted by The_Rickster on October 14, 2010 at 05:01 PM

Finally Orr and humiliating ways are humbled by defeat. Take that and stick it in your back pocket for the next time you win convincingly then perhaps you won't be such a showboater and show a little class! Engelland CONNECTS!!

Posted by reynard68 on October 14, 2010 at 05:08 PM

Thought Orr was going to win and then, BOOM!!!! Go Engelland. Tough kid.

Posted by Big Little Tank on October 15, 2010 at 10:32 PM

Even until the end. For those "yahoos" out there who are do not know Engelland, 126 fights. With barely any losses. ;-)

Posted by sheazo on October 15, 2010 at 07:35 PM

This is why I love this game.

Posted by pepsigenerate on January 08, 2011 at 08:26 PM

15 punches by Orr,8 punches by Engelland for the ko on Orr,as Orr gets dummyed looking like a puppet on a string & being helped by the refs to the bench for repairs.

Posted by proctor44 on October 13, 2010 at 11:45 PM

i have never been this happy in my life. colton has been slain

Posted by hatterson on October 14, 2010 at 09:08 AM

Great fight. Engelland landed one or two early. Orr came back in the middle and landed some solid punched but Engelland ended it in a big way. Not often do you see Orr get beat like that

Posted by Pred2Win on October 15, 2010 at 07:38 PM

Great fight! Great punch!

Posted by nuckles88 on October 14, 2010 at 07:41 PM

THAT WAS AMAZING! hahaha wow ive never even heard of engelland and he just destroyed Orr who rarely ever gets beat! Awesome fight!

Posted by zonahockeyfan on October 13, 2010 at 10:39 PM

helluva punch, Orrs a master at trying to get a big first punch then using his reach to throw bombs while protecting himself, here a middle weight takes him to task by throwing right up the middle and smokes him.

Posted by web1350 on October 13, 2010 at 11:20 PM

The fact that Orr threw a few more punches doesnt mean Jack S**t if you get KOed. Orr didnt hold back when Engellands helmet got dislodged either. He was looking to do to Engelland what Engelland did to him. Great win for Deryk. Lets hope they keep him around. Hes a lot more valuable than Lovejoy.

Posted by Chet the Jet on October 14, 2010 at 09:45 AM

Colton got fl-ORR-ed by an Eng-BOMB! K-effin'-O!!!

Posted by sedinfan on October 13, 2010 at 11:22 PM

orr gets careless again, not the heavyweight champ some of you make him out to be.

Posted by CofRed92 on October 14, 2010 at 01:05 AM

holy shit haha....i saw deryk play with WBS and i hated him but this is great. haha, Colton Orr's the man, but that is freakin awesome. Nice job Deryk thats pretty sikk.

Posted by JBox3 on October 13, 2010 at 10:41 PM

I'm a huge Pens fan, so obviously I was pleased with result. What surprised me was the respect I gained for Orr when he didn't take the opportunity to bust Engelland up when his helmet was in his face. That was a classy move from a guy I didn't expect it from. Great fight, though. I really thought Engelland bit off more than he could chew, but with dynamite in your hand your never outclassed.

Posted by JohnL09 on January 02, 2011 at 08:12 PM

Nothing like a good ole punch to the face contest!

Posted by BChockey87 on February 20, 2011 at 03:21 PM

lucky punch

Posted by Mounty in NC on January 24, 2013 at 10:29 AM

Close early on...neither landed any heavy hits until Engelland knocked Orr on his rear end. Not bad for a guy who is outweighted by almost 25lbs.

Posted by Clark75 on October 14, 2010 at 11:06 AM

Huge Orr fan here. It was a sad night, but he always comes back. If you watch at the end of the fight. The slow motion replay shows that they both connected with punches. Engelland's just happened to be right on the button. Orr early, Engelland with the TKO. Defense once and awhile Orr! That's the price you pay for going balls out every fight.

Posted by blazers76 on October 16, 2010 at 09:27 PM

POW !!!

Posted by hockey_nut69 on October 13, 2010 at 10:57 PM

well like Carkner when he won the 1 fight out of 4 from Orr this guy is going to be in trouble next meeting mark my words!

So what Maple Leaf HOMER Voted for Orr. I mean really, your boy got his ass whooped

Posted by skater1 on October 14, 2010 at 07:30 AM

He who lives by the sword.........I think he'll be back though...............

Posted by kryon24 on October 14, 2010 at 10:32 AM

Boom Boom out goes the lights on a flash KD. What a shot by Egghead as he blasted Orr with that haymaker. This is the thing with Orr is if he lands first it's ER time BUT if you can move and dive away from the bombs and tag him first he is likely to drop as he doesn't have the best chin for a fighter. Giant props to Eggy but now he will have to back that up as all the guns are coming for him. Orr is like Probert after a loss, watch out (ex Carkner). Excellent fight with no f#[email protected] around just stand back and bombs away. TKO win for Eggy.

Posted by paddyd on October 14, 2010 at 10:21 AM

Kaboom and Orr is flat on his back by a call up from Wilkes Barre. Great job Deryk hope you stay up in Pittsburgh. I always said you were a great team player and now you havae your chance. That took guts going up against Orr. Don't think this kid is going to run and hide the next time they play! Orr, 6'3", 222 Deryk, 6'2", 200 Decked by Deryk!

Posted by dogace on October 14, 2010 at 11:29 AM

AGH CAM!!! ORR COULDNT SMILE THIS TIME,CAUSE HIS JAW WAS BROKE! ABOUT TIME THE PENS GOT A GOOD FIGHTING DEFENSMEN! NICE JOB ENGELLAND!!

Posted by scott2191 on October 27, 2010 at 12:58 PM

They say that it happens to the best of them. Orr is one of them that will take a punch to give a punch. well he took a KO punch no dought!!!

Posted by BattleAxe13 on October 14, 2010 at 06:56 PM

Engelland is a gamer but never in a million years would I have thought this outcome. I jumped out of my seat! What a punch! Unfortunetly this might keep Godard out of the lineup but hey, Deryk can hold his own, he might not win all of his fights but he won't back down and he won't let people push Crosby, Malkin, Fleury and Co. around. Orr did not return from this KO.

Posted by BigRob1 on October 14, 2010 at 09:50 AM

Sure didn't see that one coming. True KO here.

Posted by cannondale on October 14, 2010 at 11:56 PM

jusat goes to show you that at least 4% (at time of this penning) of the population (here, at least) are BLIND. anyone who claims orr won should have all rating priviledges revoked FOREVER. listen to the crowd....that wil lgo down as one of the top 3 fights this year. mark words. i have nothing against orr but see his prowess going downhill rapidly.....can anyone say donald brasher?????? he is still tough but was also knocked out by this unknown kid.....

Posted by doverspikea2082 on October 14, 2010 at 09:38 AM

Why is everyone surprised that Engelland knocked someone out, even if its Orr? Guys got heavy hands. And should i still be shocked at idiots voting for Orr?

Posted by neiljc on October 13, 2010 at 09:24 PM

Whoa brother!! Engelland is very tough and he can throw 'em, but most heavyweights get beat by Orr, let alone drop him like a sack of cement as was seen here. Plus, have to be impressed with how well Engelland can take a punch. For a middleweight to drop him really says something. Nice to see guys just throw bombs for a change, take one to give one. Even though Engelland wore more punches, his lights were still on in the end, so he gets the win. What a devastating straight right, picked his spot and didn't miss. Godard should ask him for advice since he has a tough go with Orr. Everyone will be talking about this one in disbelief for a while. That was unbelievable, and if that doesn't impress teammates, fans, etc, then nothing will.

Posted by willemakit on December 26, 2010 at 07:27 AM

Deryk Engelland is quickly becoming one of the NHL's top heavyweights.

Posted by Steely_J on October 15, 2010 at 10:46 PM

I don't know how anyone could vote that Orr won that fight.. He got knocked the eff out.

Posted by Pens17 on October 14, 2010 at 08:00 PM

DE knocked Orr out of the game! Great take down for a terrific young guy whose time is NOW! Orr sustained a Coup/Countercoup central nervous system injury with DE's jackhammer blast. What this means is that within in general terms 5-7 years Orr will firmly believe he is O.J. Simpson!

Posted by Willy WILL on November 14, 2010 at 08:45 AM

Love it. We will see quite a bit more of this over the next few seasons as the leafs rebuiild with washed up and over paid vets! Orr has no business being on the ice any game... this year he surely isn't close to being called the champ! Too much smoke being blown up his butt in the big smoke! He will end up like all the other tough guys in TO... fallen and forgotten! (with the exception of Clark) Good to see him following suit... Clear win Engelland!

Posted by ThrowdownSJ408 on October 14, 2010 at 03:40 AM

damint orr

Posted by MikeVee on October 14, 2010 at 01:21 PM

Engelland is not a nobody. He won like 20 fights in the AHL last year. The guy has a rock solid chin and I think everyone saw that right hand shot he has tonight. Funny how Orr ducked Godard, went after an "easier" guy and got his clock rung. If he didn't get initial position he would have crumbled sooner.

Posted by shawnfightlover on October 15, 2010 at 02:01 PM

Great fight.

Posted by ryanjs2004 on October 14, 2010 at 08:15 AM

POW! Right in the kisser! POW! Right in the kisser! POW! Right in the kisser! The little guy from the minors takes out the big enforcer. This could end up in the top ten at the end if the season.

Best K.O..So far this year

Posted by Rotorhead on October 14, 2010 at 02:12 PM

Love how Orr almost waited for Deryk to drop the gloves then he gets his ass handed to him... Perhaps the KO of the Year along with Big Mac's last week.

Posted by dukeofburger on October 13, 2010 at 09:24 PM

Awesome fight... Orr had a goal in the first period and had been fired up since he scored. Engelland stood up and grabbed Orr, who seemed to have the upper hand and landed a few clean shots on the Pen. Engelland lost his helmet, took a couple more clean jabs, then unloaded a massive right and dropped Orr. Great tilt, better upset.

Posted by penshockey on October 14, 2010 at 04:32 PM

this i think has a chance to be the fight of the year!

Posted by epot on October 14, 2010 at 09:24 PM

The re-match should be interesting. Colton's style dictates this type of result but usually he's the one that lands the hammer. I'm curious to see if orr gets a little gun shy after this?

Posted by S1DN3Y87CR05BY on October 17, 2010 at 02:27 AM

Orr had that fight all but locked up and one well placed punch to his class chin had him enjoying the stars of consol

How come Coltie wasn't smiling like a douche bag after this one? Every year he gets knocked out a few times. Carkner did it last year. Some 200 pounder this year.......Hahahahahahaha. BigJack you are a retard. Sniff Orr's jock much? We have Engelland winning becuase Orr was knocked stupid. This isn't MMA. This is hockey chump. I agree with the mob. Orr should not be wearing Domi's jersey. I hate the midget, but pound for pound, no one is close. Ever. Woof! Pow Wow...Kill Bart!!

Posted by Oil Can Henry on October 13, 2010 at 11:18 PM

Nice job by Engelland -- effectively nullify's Orr's right hand,...blocking it and making him miss,....then drops him for the TKO.

Posted by dorian on October 14, 2010 at 01:15 AM

Maybe the Orr-lovers on this site will pipe down for awhile

Posted by piney on October 14, 2010 at 08:15 PM

Posted by dropkick25 on October 13, 2010 at 10:56 PM

Damn...Orr's fights are always exciting.Always all out and no grab and jab.But he has been decked alot the last couple years...he has to try to duck those rights that he himself delivers so well!Obvious and sound TKO for the pen...

Posted by behnwilsonrules on November 03, 2010 at 10:18 PM

Engelland is impressive so far this year.Nice victory over an established tough guy.

The Night of the Upsets....huge win for Engelland...hard work pays off

Posted by kitcarnut on October 15, 2010 at 10:01 AM

Colton got tagged bigtime here, thats living by the sword and dying by the sword. This is why everyone respects Orr so much. Doesn't run and doesn't hide a good honest fighter. Can't win them all. I love'm both good dub breed :)

Posted by CocoQuaker7 on October 15, 2010 at 04:49 PM

Engelland showed some toughness, not only by challenging a proven fighter in Orr, but by absorbing some good shots and hanging in there to land the solid right in Orr's kisser.

Posted by Boogeyman2383 on October 14, 2010 at 08:16 PM

Orr just got KO'd by who?!?! Derek Engelland?...

Posted by samtheman on October 14, 2010 at 05:45 AM

Orr gets knocked out by a middleweight.

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on October 13, 2010 at 11:55 PM

Orr had Engelland on the ropes, but then the right comes out of nowhere and floors him for the KO. Very impressive win.

Posted by balravens13 on October 13, 2010 at 09:40 PM

This was as surprising an end as I have seen all year. Orr was winning with some good shots but then just as you thought Orr would finish it POW he eats a right and TIMBERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Win Engelland

Posted by mike hartman on October 25, 2010 at 03:58 PM

Nice fight. Better ending. If Orr can't win a fight he's got no business being on a roster.

Posted by Kid Roberts on October 13, 2010 at 10:23 PM

Orr got Knocked out ! Win for Engelland ! I read it off of a twitter update that he was knocked out thats why he didnt return.

Posted by chiefdon24 on October 14, 2010 at 02:13 PM

Orr gets KO'd. I don't know much about Engelland but Orr will be back. Orr has been KO'd before and came back strong (Carkner vs Orr). I am sure there will be a rematch.

Posted by Langway on January 08, 2011 at 02:33 AM

Engellend with the win in a great fight.

Posted by karma_kaze on January 05, 2011 at 11:27 PM

Very good fight here. Engelland with the five knuckle meat soother!!!

Posted by gmr133 on October 14, 2010 at 02:36 PM

Deryk Engelland makes a name for himself. Orr is one of the toughest guys in the league, no debate. And he was giving it to Engelland pretty good for most of this fight. But give Engelland credit--he took some of Orr's best shots and came back with what has to be a candidate for KO of the year. Also a candidate for fight of the year.

Posted by tim daddy on October 14, 2010 at 12:25 PM

pretty surprising, win engelland, but all the questions should get sorted out this year, with all the monsters in the east, so no more excuses.

Posted by Rick16 on October 13, 2010 at 11:55 PM

great fight!! i hope these guys do it again soon!

Posted by RoboSmash on October 13, 2010 at 11:42 PM

Yes Engels got in a beauty, but it only stunned Orr for a half a second. If this were boxing Orr would have gotten back up before the ref counted to 4. thats not a KO its a knock down. Ivannans or Cooke would the two most recent examples of a nhl ko, fyi.

Posted by BritishRedWing on October 14, 2010 at 06:29 PM

Big win for Engelland, and he didn't prance around or make Y-M-C-A-like gestures after this beating. Good for him, and a wee bit of humility for Mr. Orr.

Posted by Behn Wilson on October 13, 2010 at 11:29 PM

Orr... ...went looking for it... ...gained an early edge... ...got careless... ...and got seriously popped... reminiscent of the way he's dropped others in the past. Gutsy effort by Engelland to hang in there until the opportunity presented itself... in a fight, that will surely call Orr's elite status into question.
