Great fight with a lot of haymakers thrown. Orr was getting off balance when he landed that glancing shot that knocked Erskine's helmet off. The return volley by Erskine caught him at just the right time, helping him on his way. Win Erskine but I would not call it domination or ass kicking by any stretch. Erskine has always reminded me of an old school, tough defenseman that seems to be in short supply. I think the end of Colton Orr stuff is a bit premature though

Posted by nutz99 on January 10, 2014 at 09:48 PM

Bombs Away! Not many of the knock him off balance jabs, just two guys lookin to knock each others block off. Love it! Win Erskine easy.

Posted by The Mad House on January 10, 2014 at 09:21 PM

Oh wow. What a scrap that was. Both guys were throwing everything they has at each other. That's one of the top fights of the year in my opinion. Great finish by Erskine, too bad he doesn't fight more often.

Posted by CWLeadHead on January 10, 2014 at 09:22 PM

Erskine doesn't get the credit he deserves. He throws with bad intention, is very accurate and can put you down with one bell ringer. Good fight, knockdown win Erskine.

Posted by kkdowning on January 12, 2014 at 10:29 AM

Big John Erskine with the win in this great fight, as he dropped Orr with the last big right. I scared my dogs by jumping up and drunkenly shouting at the TV during the fight, for which I apologize.

Posted by cobra617 on January 11, 2014 at 12:28 AM

Big John, does not fight anywhere near as often as Orr, but he shows why no one really messes with him. Also, this is a true gentlemanly fight. As soon as Erskine puts Orr down and in a vulnerable spot, he holds off and doesn't deliver an Emery shot. Ooops, I meant cheap shot. Orr did the same against Parros earlier this year.

Posted by Great Murray on January 12, 2014 at 07:31 AM

FOY! Lucic and Wrecking Ball are in the mix but this one might be better! Orr did the best he could. If he caught big Erskine early with a good one it might have changed to outcome. But he didn't and got fed a bunch of knuckles for his trouble. Erskine is a match for any heavy just because he is so big and strong. Bombs, Haymakers...all they had is what we got. AWESOME!!! However; the votes for Orr and Draw had to come from the folks that watched the fight in braille! Love Orr's come back from the Engelland KO, but like Thornton it may be his time to leave the game. Warriors both in the truest and finest sense. But both have reached the point where they are really taking a lot of heavy shots...they both need to think about their futures, while they can still think.

Posted by sedinfan on January 11, 2014 at 12:04 AM

Erskine has always been one of the more underrated fighters and Orr seems on the decline for sure. Regardless, a great fight by both with Erskine with a dominating win. Erskine has had many entertaining fights over the years, but doesn't seem to fight that much in the past 4-5 years. Check November 14, 2010 when he fought Eric Boulton. The fight had a score of 9.4. I still remember that one and i remember Erskine beating Lucic 4-5 years ago as well.

Posted by buzzgun2000 on January 10, 2014 at 09:26 PM

I wondered where these two had gone. What a way to come back on to the radar screen. Shades of Engelland for Orr.

Big Guys big blows

Posted by Domi-ko on January 11, 2014 at 02:02 PM

Good scrap. Being a big Orr fan and Leaf fan in general it was nice to see him back and throwing bombs. Unfortunately he was outclassed in this one. Big John with a swooping right that caught Orr at just the right moment. Got to give the win to Erskine but kudos to Orr for hanging with the big fella. Personally I don't think Orr will ever recapture his abilities of the past but until someone else is capable of stepping up....namely Devane Orr is still the go to guy.

Posted by IMPEACH on January 12, 2014 at 09:46 PM

Erskine doesn't fight much since a concussion a few years back, but he's one of the really under-rated heavyweights in the league. And he always tries to kill the other guy with those wild haymakers out of left field.

Posted by MnHockeycoach99 on January 12, 2014 at 11:38 PM

Erskine broke out the hard hat and the jackhammer and went to town on the back of Orr's head..... Clear win to Erskine.

Posted by Peters 76 on January 11, 2014 at 08:01 PM

LOVE seeing Colton get SMOKED. Win Johnny Erskine.

Posted by Dave Brown HOF on January 11, 2014 at 09:59 PM

KD win Erskine. Not sure why I've heard and read that some guys are saying that Orr didn't get knocked down but lost his balance instead? He got punched in the fucking forehead by a big bad 240 pound dude. Well no shit he lost his balance, but it's called getting knocked down in a fight. This wasn't some drunk taking a piss in the alley after a night of saucing and falling over. This was Erskine connecting with a fist to Orr's melon and Orr going down like a pornstar because of it. In saying that, I don't know why all of the hate for Orr either. He's had some pretty epic battles in the league in his career and some pretty serious head injuries because of it, but he continues to go out there and put it on the line for his team against the toughest of the tough in the league. I think that deserves some respect.

Posted by hughcares on January 10, 2014 at 09:52 PM

Orr seems to be looking to survive rather than try and knock the guys teeth in. Not sure why McLaren isn't playing instead.

Posted by rocky 1 on January 11, 2014 at 03:06 AM

Great tilt although most of the throwing and landing was done by Erskine .Erskine gets the knockdown on Orr for the win!I thought Orr retired !

Posted by RRSM53 on January 13, 2014 at 08:18 AM

TKO for Erskine, Orr you going to have issues when you get older, to many punches to your squash. Love reading the comments of the experts on here wonder sometimes what fights you are watching.

Posted by MeatPlow on January 11, 2014 at 11:01 AM

Great fight! Erskine landed all the effective shots and in a hurry. I really didnt see Orr land a decent punch. Anyway i gave it a 7 and it really was good to see 2 heavyweights trying to ko each other. Happy New Year PPL

Posted by slavv on January 11, 2014 at 03:55 PM

Orr showed rust after not having fought in quite some time. Era jibe landed an awkward shot to Orr's forehead, dropping Orr....

Posted by ScarbroSaint on January 11, 2014 at 08:26 AM

foreskin with the KD tko only gave it a 7 could have gone longer oh yea no it couldent orr gets KD'd and on an other not TORONTO SUCKS BALLS BRING BACK PAT QUINN

Posted by BrettB on January 11, 2014 at 06:39 AM

Go go Godzilla! It's about time Big John made his presence know again. All's right in the District.

Posted by barks1513 on January 11, 2014 at 08:49 AM

Big time tilt. Gave it a 7. A knockout does not make the fight, it's the action during the fight that gets the score. Erskine with the clear win start to finish.

Posted by GoonVisor on January 11, 2014 at 11:15 AM

Good beef with heavy intensity and few connections. I thought the Leafs were supposed to be tough..

Posted by fromo on January 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM

Good tilt, Erskine with a surprisingly dominant performance over Orr.

Erskine shows his punching power, dominates for the W.

Posted by Doggy12 on January 11, 2014 at 10:20 AM

I saw it as domination by John . He was throwing angry punches.

Posted by BennyD on January 11, 2014 at 09:29 AM

Great tilt. Even when Orr gets decked, he doesn't seem to be hurt. Nice right by Erskine to give him the W. Gave it an 8.

Posted by ramwinger on January 10, 2014 at 09:54 PM

Cudos to Orr to back his captain. Tough way to make a living. Hope Phaneuf buys Colton a 'cold one' tonight. He deserves it. Erskin is definitely a handful.

Posted by drop_the_gloves on January 11, 2014 at 08:58 AM

Erskine caught him with a big one that dropped Orr.

Posted by Jellyczar on January 10, 2014 at 11:04 PM

Is Orr slipping??? Big right from Erskine was the difference. Two veterans pounding away..... Can King of Goons keep his remarks just to the current fight. I don't care for his commentary on anything else.....

Posted by StanFischler Jr on January 12, 2014 at 12:19 AM

Johnnie boy was throwing with mean intent. Can we please finally recognize that Orr is not a top 5 fighter and certainly not the champ. He has a questionable jaw and little technical smarts. It was nice to see him take another clear loss.

Posted by Sasky001 on January 11, 2014 at 12:58 AM

That's why Erskine doesn't have to fight very often.

Posted by BooSanta on January 14, 2014 at 09:25 PM

When someone tells me to do something I don't want to do, I'd say I'd rather take an Erskine roundhouse. After seeing the Colt take a seat here, maybe not. Lots of good scrapping on the Beltway this year.

Posted by moneybags on January 11, 2014 at 02:40 AM

Very rare Orr gets his ass kicked...great fight

Posted by flyerguy on January 11, 2014 at 07:33 AM

Orr gets CRUSHED! Typical leaf, all talk no results. Erskine with the TKO, Suck it leaf trolls

Posted by Mick7 on January 11, 2014 at 12:05 PM

Hmm, I expected the Leaf haters to be going over the top with glee on this one, but the comments aren't so bad really. Clear win for Erskine. Love Colton Orr...not sure about his elbow or head health, but he's sadly in decline now. Not sure why McLaren wasn't dressed for this one, given the Caps obvious toughness.

Posted by digitalroc on January 13, 2014 at 08:12 PM

I haven't seen Orr get worked like this in a long time, I am an Orr fan but he was dominated. IMO, Erskine isn't a super heavyweight like McGrattan, but he handled Orr and gets the W with those big over hand punches.

Posted by boldbilly on January 11, 2014 at 02:44 AM

Great fight scored it an 8 Erskine with the big obvious win......and yes I am going to say it. if Orr would have been a Bruin he would have been voted a draw here....just saying

Posted by C-7Enforcer on January 11, 2014 at 06:25 AM

Leafs and Orr fan but Erskine with the win!! As an Orr and Leafs fan, this is a moral victory for us with Orr finally being healthy enough(elbow surgery) to drop the gloves and let them fly!! Orr is coming back, love the smile at the end after he got tagged and was skating to the box!!

Posted by Veleno45 on January 11, 2014 at 08:06 AM

Great Fight, perfect way to finish

Posted by tombeerguy on January 11, 2014 at 11:24 AM

Dumb announcer. For a right handed fighter his jab would be his left hand. That was a solid overhand. Win Erskine

Posted by NMBbob on January 11, 2014 at 09:05 AM

Erskine clear win Orr is fearless, which probably works against him at this stage of his career. Hope he has all his marbles when he retires... Edit: good fight, but still not as good as Boulton - Erskine Nov 2010

Damn, Orr's brain is going to be more scrambled when he retires than the eggs I had this morning. Great job by Erksine with the knockdown.

Posted by brentsdaman on January 11, 2014 at 10:18 AM

The big Ersk is a great fighter.I wish he would drop them more often. And Phanuff was in his face earlier, that would have been a BAD mistake!!Go big John!!

Posted by doobi1 on January 12, 2014 at 10:26 AM

I liked this one. Both landed but the longer reach made a point. Mostly to CO's head.

Posted by CharlieConway on January 11, 2014 at 08:20 AM

John Erskine is built like an old coal miner. Hes also probably in better shape because he plays hockey.

Posted by mr. puttzo on January 11, 2014 at 04:39 PM

Good tilt between the two, some wild swings by Erskine. But the forehead shot was just a lost of balance but it sure made Erskine look good for the win....Erskine can throw them when he really gets going....Erskine should fight more

Posted by mmadced on January 11, 2014 at 04:40 PM

what king of buffoons neglecks to tell everybody is that Lucic kicks Erskines ass the next time they fight. very convenient eh? Sounds a little like the liberal press eh......

Posted by staceyb on January 10, 2014 at 09:37 PM

Erskine and Orr go back and forth but at the end that tremendous right by Erskine to the side of the skull settled the dispute.

Posted by loneranger on January 11, 2014 at 11:55 AM

Time for Orr to learn how to golf.

Posted by jimmat on January 11, 2014 at 01:34 PM

Wow. Really good scrap. Erskine with the definite win here, but Orr landed a couple of bombs too. I was worried about Orr earlier in the season, but he looked fine here, just got beat by a guy who had a better night. Erskine's a tough dude who I wish would go more often.

Posted by Scanze on January 11, 2014 at 09:18 AM

Great fight. King of goons y the disrespect for Lucic. I saw that fight he lost but fought Erskine again and did much better.

Posted by Biggus on January 11, 2014 at 12:41 AM

Erskine in a barn burner. Solid punch at the end but Orr was already off balance on it connected with his forehead, no KO as I see it. Giving it an 8.

Posted by Massive Coiler on January 10, 2014 at 09:25 PM

Definitely one of the fights of the year, maybe not the best but still really good. Erskine was the clear winner, even if it was relatively close. I'm surprised a little here at the outcome, but Erskine is one tough guy.

Posted by iralustmanHF on January 10, 2014 at 11:40 PM

tko erskine. good bout..

Posted by PucktotheHead on January 11, 2014 at 01:10 AM

Wilson warmed up the crowd and Big John brought the house down. He was itching all night to throw with someone and Orr volunteered. Erskine doesn't have many fights the past couple of years due to the fact he has been a healthy scratch because of his poor D play. If he could find a way to step up his play we would get to see him drop the gloves more often.

Posted by TERMINATOR on January 11, 2014 at 01:50 AM

Erskine with the knockdown win. He was winning even prior to the big bomb. Whoever gave that to Orr should have rating privledges suspended...u dum homers please leave this site!

new wwe champ john erskine

Posted by bobowen34 on January 10, 2014 at 09:40 PM

Erskine with the huge win. Great fight. Erskine's strategy in fights is just to throw hard. No defense at all. It worked this time.

Posted by Amerkfan8 on January 10, 2014 at 09:31 PM

That's not a KO guys. Erskine wins this slugfest.

Posted by smellmyfinger61 on January 11, 2014 at 04:26 PM

Posted by DARCY T on January 11, 2014 at 07:23 AM

Great bout, both threw with ill intent...

Posted by Conan01 on January 13, 2014 at 08:08 PM

Looks like 5 Leaf fans voted for Orr. Seriously? They should lose their privileges.

Posted by scorp1on on January 11, 2014 at 08:13 AM

Orr woke the sleeping bear on this one. Not exactly toe to toe, but surely not much defense happening here once they got started. Win Erskine with the 10 second onslaught starting at :30 ending with the momentary loss of leg function at :39. This might slide in as a candidate for fight of the year.

Posted by glovedropper08 on January 13, 2014 at 07:34 PM

Orr's results this year have definitely declined, erskine gets the clear win in this one. Erskine definitely is underrated too. Very entertaining. Maybe McLaren should handle the fighting for now on.

Posted by nuckles88 on January 10, 2014 at 09:22 PM

Wow another huge fight right after the first one between Ashton and Wilson! But this time Orr gets tuned up by erskine and a very spirited heavy weight bout.

Posted by Bear72 on January 11, 2014 at 10:32 AM

Absolute domination worst asswhopping of the year Orr was out of it

Posted by JustinL611 on January 11, 2014 at 09:00 AM

Great fight. Orr didn't like him going after Captain Phaneuf so he had to try to settle the score. Didn't do his HW this time as Erskine took him to the old school playground for a nice beatdown.

Posted by SEMO_Yogi on January 11, 2014 at 12:57 AM

That was a major butt-whipping. Orr needs to find a new occupation.

Posted by DICKJOHNSON on January 14, 2014 at 07:20 AM

Posted by stinglaw on January 13, 2014 at 11:31 PM

If Erskine fought more he would be in jail awaiting a manslaughter I trial. Orr has lost a step, orr a punch anyway.

Posted by Lupac on January 11, 2014 at 02:22 AM

Erskine: most under rated heavyweight, also 2nd to Rupp in looking like he has the smelliest farts in the league. With that said, obviously Orr is not having a good year getting fights or winning them. Some seasons are better then others. As we all know Orr has no defense when he's throwing bombs. He can take a punch and he is by no means done or declining. just always has been reckless and leaving himself wide open. Erskine got the better of him, as I've always thought he was tough as hell. And I have a big penis Good night gentlemen

Posted by bigmike53 on January 10, 2014 at 09:56 PM

Good to see Erskine throwing down again. Two great Heavyweights go toe to toe with Erskine landing the final bomb to get the decision. Great fight boys!

Posted by Matlanta81 on January 11, 2014 at 02:27 PM

Seconds after freshman Wilson rattled Carter Ashton's cage, papa Erskine dropped the mitts with soon to be beaten Colton Orr. John has gotten a little older, but proved he hasn't lost his natural ability to throw the hammers. Seeing Tom Wilson's face one Big John got to the penalty box was awesome. Glad another player on this somewhat Caps team is willing to throw the hammers along with Wilson.

Posted by kryon24 on January 12, 2014 at 09:30 AM

Big John is a beast. He throws every punch with bad intentions and lands that last one right to CO's giant cranium and knocks him on his ass for a knock DOWN win! Up to that point it was up in the air as to who would land the big shot as both were connecting. I don't know why anyone messes with him as when he fights it usually turns out bad for his opponent.

Posted by bigdude on January 11, 2014 at 08:46 AM

It is not often you see Orr get throttled like that. I really enjoyed that, and have much respect for Erkine.

Posted by Derek_Sedita420 on October 19, 2014 at 01:37 AM

Wow I can't believe Orr got his ass beat by erskine

Posted by SURESHOT27 on January 16, 2014 at 10:27 AM

WOW, not too many men can both walk away from those bombs....Erskine all over this one. Possibly a rusty Orr!

Posted by The Doggfather on January 10, 2014 at 09:52 PM

Erskine shows why he needs to drop the mittens more often. One of the toughest in the league (look at his log from '06, I think he went 14-2). Drops Orr with a Rolling Stones "Tatoo You" in the mug...

Posted by ChuckinKnuckles on January 25, 2014 at 05:54 PM

Erskine all the way. Why on earth did Dallas ever let this guy walk? He came up through their organization and must have displayed too much toughness for them. What a bunch of dolts to let this guy get away.

Posted by Bockscar on January 12, 2014 at 01:04 PM

I can't believe Erskine can still fight... one more concussion and his career is done. That being said, Erskine gets the W in very convincing fashion.

Posted by JP1548 on January 11, 2014 at 09:49 AM

Awesome! Big John still has it.

Posted by nhlofficialsblo on January 25, 2014 at 07:05 AM

Erskine is a bad ass. No helmet toss or jackoff smirk from Orr the Gonad on this one. He got manhandled.

Posted by trip2112 on January 11, 2014 at 07:09 PM

very respectful fighters. great fight.....

Posted by CapsYapp on January 11, 2014 at 07:14 AM

Erskine is one of those guys you just don't want to mess with. Though he hasnt had too many scraps this year, his reputation for finishing a fight is well known - as proof tonight. Orr, a good fighting opponent as well, was best served to not test this. He did though, and lost big time.

Posted by mjm21409 on January 10, 2014 at 11:34 PM

Big John got his fire lit by Phaneuf and Orr tried to put it out with no luck.

Posted by Rickey331 on January 10, 2014 at 10:31 PM

Big John beating up a punk of the NHL. Orr messed with the wrong man tonight. Big John only takes the fight when he has to and Orr should have kept the gloves on.

Posted by tyboxer5 on January 11, 2014 at 11:04 AM

Colton Orr didn't have a prayer, thatta boy Erskine!!!!

Posted by Throbster on January 11, 2014 at 12:20 PM

God I love it when Erskine fights. Always throws bombs with little regard for defense. His epic fight against Eric Boulton a few years ago is one of my all time favorites. Definitely my favorite Cap. Also love the call by Joe Beninati.

Posted by static97 on January 11, 2014 at 05:48 PM

Great fight... tough way to make a living.

Posted by CapsfanBeast on January 13, 2014 at 04:02 AM

Big Ajax taking care of business! Undoubtedly the most underrated fighter in the NHL over the past several years. Great fight JohnE! Keep it up

Posted by xtraread on December 13, 2015 at 12:47 AM

Erskine was always an underated fighter just ask George laraque.orr was slapped around like a 2 dollar hooker

Posted by Mikemaster11 on January 11, 2014 at 01:34 PM

How did the king of fighting lose to that asshole

Posted by Harvey9 on January 10, 2014 at 11:35 PM

Good bout, all Erskine, but Orr can take a punch.

Posted by NoKnuckles on January 13, 2014 at 05:34 PM

Tought lad that Erskine Hows the Bolt Bucket melon Colt? A little rattled I would think. Good battle for both Big Dudes.

Posted by LiamG138 on January 11, 2014 at 07:11 PM

Erskin hasn't had a fight in a while and just went all out on Orr. Orr couldn't even touch him.

Posted by mainlymuscle on January 11, 2014 at 08:47 PM

Erskine was owning long before the knockdown, though Orr is certainly capable of turning it around with one swing. This was all Johnny. Erskine TKO and an entertaining 8

Posted by EvanJ69 on March 12, 2014 at 04:13 PM

Obviously a Washinton announcer, “KOed by the big right” you dumb ass he missed and they both fell over! I saw a close fight but a slight edge to Erskine

Posted by yankees67 on January 10, 2014 at 09:56 PM

Not a lot of damage til that bonk on orr's forehead

Posted by Humper on January 10, 2014 at 10:05 PM

Pretty good scrap, Erskine with the clear win. This should demonstrate to Orr and all you young folks out there that if you don't keep up with your practicing you are going to forget how.

Posted by DanielleinDC on January 10, 2014 at 11:46 PM

Erskine can sure throw down. You do not want to mess with this hombre.

Posted by BigBird on January 18, 2014 at 11:37 AM

Hilarious commentary by Don "The Leaf's Biggest Fan" Cherry after this fight. Earlier Erskine challenged Phaneuf, who ran away, like he usually does. Cherry said it was because Erskine's much bigger, he's not, they're the same size, only difference is Phaneuf's a coward. Then Cherry went on to praise Orr for fighting Erskine, because Erskine was much bigger, he's not, Erskine, Orr, and Phaneuf are all the same size. Don't believe the Hockeyfights stats, look at the team websites if you want the real size of the players. I don't know where Hockeyfights gets their numbers. They have Brendan Gallagher listed as 5'6" 150lbs, I don't believe there's been a 150lb player in the NHL for at least 40 years.

Posted by brownie21 on January 11, 2014 at 11:02 AM

Pretty close until the end. Erskine is underrated and Orr, dare I say it, may be overrated these days. Clear will for Big John

Posted by illukka on January 14, 2014 at 06:13 AM

it doesnt get better than this, 2 superheavies going for it! win erskine but orr had his moments and this could have gone the other way too

Posted by bigdog2007 on January 10, 2014 at 09:33 PM

DribbleCup Orr takes a pounding from Erskine. Useless waste of a roster spot. Bettman should ban Coltie before someone kills him and his remaining 3 braincells. Ahhhhh loving Laff Nation. Terrible sinking team and a punch drunk washed up stiff. Woof!! Belch!! Crusty Orr jersey!!! Phagoof peed himself, so Coltie took the beating for him. Laffs2006 must be in a fetal position rocking bank n forth. Poor little guy.

Posted by snowave on January 10, 2014 at 09:57 PM

good time to be surfing Center Ice.. caught both of these fights as I sat down for a dinner of jalapeno poppers. Decisive win for Erskine, but boy.. how did Orr not fall before that?

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on January 11, 2014 at 09:41 PM

Big win for the big puncher as Erskine puts Orr down after the two of them throw some huge bombs. And King of Goons, quit being an idiot. Lucic hating is so 2009, and only hardcore whiny Bruins haters still do it. Lucic already got that one back anyway.

Posted by alpca3877 on January 10, 2014 at 09:20 PM

Another quality Erskine fight

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on January 11, 2014 at 02:28 AM

Big Johnny Erskine! Wish you would fight more, great toe to toe fight, Orr coming off worse.

Posted by FHgrad99 on January 13, 2014 at 03:03 AM

Both guys were swinging for the fences here. Erskine landed the better shots towards the end and gets the win in a good one.

Posted by grrbronco81 on January 13, 2014 at 10:18 AM

Yea Bettman.....Fights should be banned in Hockey, according to the reaction of the crowd.

Posted by sjeffh on January 11, 2014 at 05:07 AM

You don't see Colton Orr get ripped apart like that too often but this time he got beat! Still a good fight

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on January 11, 2014 at 06:10 PM

Erskine should fight more often. That was a serious battle. This has to be one of the top five fights all year! Props to Orr for a hell of a fight even though he came out on the losing end.

Posted by brianamoro on January 11, 2014 at 09:32 AM

Erskine destroyed Orr

Posted by slarrivee11 on January 10, 2014 at 11:09 PM

Posted by blaster on January 10, 2014 at 11:04 PM

Orr got his ass whipped by Erskine in dominating fashion. Boy can Erskine throw bombs once that jackhammer right starts up.

Posted by ironbar44 on January 11, 2014 at 07:46 AM

old school

Posted by J.R. Abel on January 11, 2014 at 04:28 AM

Nice scrap. I like both of these fighters. Good toe to toe slugfest. Foreskin takes this one with the knock down. Props to both guys for just throwing bombs till one of them went down. Entertaining and a solid 9

Posted by TheodoreRex on January 10, 2014 at 10:17 PM

Erskine is the biggest sleeper in the league.

Posted by Behn Wilson on January 11, 2014 at 08:22 PM

Orr decides to test the comeback waters against "sleeper biker dude".. and gets absolutely pasted for his troubles to the tune of... "Johnny I hardly knew ya" by the DropKick Murphy's... His "better than Parros" chin helped to keep him in it longer than he should have... ...at least long enough to be eventually dropped after failing to grasp the hidden meaning behind the classic Bugs Bunny sign... "Ducka your head...Lola Bridgida" FOTY candidate so far with a great effort from both guys who were really throwing relentless nasty one-punch bombs with bad intentions

Posted by vermontcaps4 on January 11, 2014 at 07:15 AM

That's my boy !!!! (4 four Him) I didn't see Orr take the ice after the fight, I hope it was just a tactical decision and that he's OK and back in the lineup the next game. The league needs more Erskines and Orrs.

Posted by Bosoxshute on January 11, 2014 at 12:45 AM

With as awful as the NHL fights have been this year, im surprised this one wasn't rated a 10. Most of the "heavy weights" have been heavy puss bags so far.

Posted by Hilaker on January 10, 2014 at 09:12 PM

Now we know why Orr has been missing in action. He is no longer a heavyweight, factor or feared fighter. Winner by a knockdown Erskine. Nice punch to finish it off. Give it a 7.

Posted by frank1476845 on January 10, 2014 at 11:03 PM

Actually a close fight and the supposed knock down was actually a glancing blow that forced Orr of balance.. Orr was not stunned or hurt from the last punch landed. If you look closely, Erskine got hit with some pretty good bombs himself. Slight victory to Erskine in a close and entertaining fight.

Posted by King of Goons on January 10, 2014 at 11:14 PM

This reminded me a lot of the Erskine-Lucic fight in 2008. The only difference is: Orr got right up after he was KO'd, while Lucic turtled and stayed down on the ice cringing like a beaten, cowardly dog. Don't believe me Lucy fans? Watch and weep: http://www.hockeyfights.com/fights/39879 Big win for Erskine over a warrior who's getting a bit long in the tooth.
