Date / Time Away / Home Team Away / Home Player
Nov 8, 2007 Philadelphia Flyers Riley Cote
1pd 15:08 New Jersey Devils Arron Asham
Right off of the faceoff they drop the gloves and square off near the blueline. They grab ahold of each other and immediately start going toe-to-toe with lefts. Asham goes down to a knee, but gets back up after a moment. They start going toe-to-toe with lefts once more until Asham finally lands one that sends Cote down to the ice. Asham falls on top of Cote and the linesmen jump in as well.

Asham's throwin with his head down, and Riley's facin Asham and wearin his punches like an animal. Gotta give it to Cote for ill intent and being a badass

Both land big shots. It looks like there skates get tied up, and they go down. They were both still throwing as they went down. Cote jumped up unphased. Hard fight to call.

Asham was the clear winner. Sure, Cote threw way more punches. But Asham landed the more devastating shots. Asham gets the "W" here.

KD-win to Asham from great toe to toe fight.
Punches were thrown many in quite short time.

Great fight! At least Chico and Emerick are fair when they announce a fight. Great to see guys JUST THROW PUNCHES! Guys used to try to land and throw like crazy. Now guys are worried that they're going to catch one on the chin and be embarrassed. Go back and look at some of the fights with Probert and Craig Coxe and Crowder, and many many others. They threw bombs, they didn't wrestle. Anyway, this reminds me of those days. MUCH CREDIT TO BOTH GUYS. Way to go. I scored it a draw, but I gotta say I'm with AA as a Devs fan. He's standing up for his team, and not playing too bad, either.

I know you all think Asham won this, and it was close for sure, but....I vote draw. Its a bad angle for Cote, you cant see how many of his punches land, but as a boxer, it looked to me like a asham was getting his bell rung at the same rate that cote was. Cote actually took the punches better- hes tougher. Still, Asham was surprisingly tough, and faster than I had thought. Draw, but a great fight.

who doesn't love watching asham fight? he always trades shots, and he's only 5'11 but brawls like a biker. cote is a very tough kid, he took a wicked shot to the jaw and kept swinging. called it a draw, can't wait to see more this year from these two.

Great fight slight edge to Cote but it could have gone either way, Just because you get the knock down dosnt always mean you get the win.

The quality of Asham's punches were not as good as cote and cote landed more. The last punch shouldn't be the only one thats judged.
win cote

knockdown at the end of a close fight. cote bigger, but asham better. one of cote's better showings, he will definitely improve, because he doesnt check the name on the sweater first before dropping gloves like some others.

Draw. Good exciting fight. Both guys are gamers.

Excellent slug-fest with many bombs being thrown. This was very close, but those last couple of shots Asham threw as Cote went down gave him the very close decision...how tough is Cote, taking a couple of point blank shots of the snout and bouncing right back up off the ice as if nothing happened...YGBSM!!!!
