Jody Shelley vs Riley Cote

Shelley may have stepped on a stick or a glove. Its a hard fight to call due Shelley slipping. Shelley did a hell of a job to get back into it after taking some shots when he was down.

Being down on one knee is a little different then being on the ice and getting punched. At that stage of the fight, I think that just about any fighter is going to keep throwing. Its a little iffy.

I'm sure Cote will be willing to give Shelley another shot. It will be interesting to see what happens next time. They play on the 27th.

nice long battle between Shelley and Cote. Shelley got himself back into the fight after take several shots early. Even though I'm a Sharks fan, Cote gets the nod.

Cote jumped Shelley in the beginning, but Shelley came back pretty strong, not enough for the win though. As much as I get on Cote about fighting the heavies and sucking, he didn't suck this time but Shelley is getting up there in age for a fighter. Win for Cote in a good, close fight.
The Pens-Flyers rivalry is deep in here too, haha I love it. I'm a Pens fan but I got nothing bad to say about Cote, even though he has lost more than he has won he still takes on anyone, even if he gets destroyed (for you Flyer homers see Laraque vs. Cote, Parros vs. Cote)

The back and forth between people is pretty funny: if you love the Flyers Cote is the greatest and dominated the fight, if you hate the Flyers he's a cheap shot for swinging wiht Shelley down. I've got no problem with what Cote did here because it was the beginning of the fight and Shelley didn't slip, it was either a punch or Cote manhandling him or a combo of both. Anybody would keep swinging at that point. Cote with the win, and he's definitely entertaining, that I've got to say. He's no clutch and grab fighter.

I got all pumped that this was going to be an awesome fight when I read all the resonses last night. Fight sucked, only a couple shots landed the entire....long......boring fight.
