Great fight, giving the edge to Nystrom

Posted by BennyD on January 20, 2014 at 12:31 PM

Alot of throwing, but alot of misses. 6 and a draw.

The poor man's Cody Mc never looked better in a losing effort against the southern half of the ever-impressive Nystrom brothers tag team currently making quite a name for themselves amongst middleweights throughout the league

Once McLeod lost his grip on Nystrom's right arm it was open hunting season. Lot of good the fight did Nashville--within 11 minutes the Avs lit up the lamp three times.

Nystrom got an advantage midway by freeing his right. Not a lot of damage, but he definitely had the taller McLeod on the defensive for the remainder of the tilt. McLeod had a couple of good uppercuts early, but couldn't overcome the disadvantage of not being able to corral his opponents arm.

McLeod is a joke... He is the worst hockey player in the league and and even worse scrapper. He reminded me of that loser Stortini in this tilt.

When did Nystrom turn into such a slugger? I've hardly ever thought of him as much of a middleweight. He's been looking pretty bad ass lately. Win Ny

Nystrom takes our minds off of Dubnyk's sad debut tonight.

Gotta love the courage of Eric Nystrom. He isn't half the fighter his dad was but nevertheless he still goes for it. McLeod has nothing to be ashamed of in this one either (Besides the fact that his name is Cody). Win Nystrom in a close but spirited bout.

Yet another entertaining Nystrom scrap! Throws a quantity of shots with enough maliciousness to get the victory over the lesser of the Cody Mc's

Nystrom wins with the rope-a-dope.

close fight but once nystrom got his hand out his sleeve he controlled the fight.im not sure he landed much though...i call it a draw but im fine with edge nystrom as well

Nystrom with a good solid fight and counter attack gets the win in a really good fight.

Nystrom finishes strong after McLeod started strong. Slight W to Eric

Nystrom has improved a lot this year. Took on the role of fighting in Dallas a couple of years back and was almost embarrassing. Must have gotten some tips from his Pop over the past offseason because he has come back a new man. I thought the fight was mostly McCleod early and Nystrom late. Slight edge to Nystrom in a close fight where most of the punches landed on the very, very hard helmets..good scrap.

Eric has come a long way, Never be the Champ in NHL but fights with a lot of heart. Win goes to Eric but spirited effort to say the least by Cody.

McLeod starts angry and fast. Nystrom weathers the storm, gets his right free and finishes with a fury! Edge Nystrom in a great scrap.

Decent scrape all in all. Must give Nystrom the nod on this one. He broke loose the right hand while McLeod was tied up most the time.

Another great fight! It appeared that Nystrom won this helmet bashing contest. I am totally amazed that more of these guys don't break their hands. Most of these guys seem to go for the collar jersey grab. That frees you up to throw ( and catch) bombs. I would rather tie up what I think is the guys throwing arm and go from there.

Quite a few nuckle busters but I'm thinking Eric got a few solids in there.... man they had power in those punches. No jabbing there.

Aro.rock em sock em all offense fight between to tough guys. Slight edge to Nystrom. Both deserve lots of credit for toughness.

I'm gonna go draw. Can't award point for flailing away. Not much landed in this one. McLeod early, Nystrom late, draw.

Posted by Humper on January 18, 2014 at 11:07 PM

Good bout. Not taking anything away from McLeod, but Nystrom eventually found his tempo and poured it to him.

Posted by kkdowning on January 19, 2014 at 10:39 AM

Giving Nystrom the win. Nystrom got his arm out of the sleeve and let fly

Posted by brownie21 on January 20, 2014 at 01:11 PM

I love McLeod, he is a scrappy guy. This was a close fight, very spirited, but the edge to Nystrom.

Posted by FHgrad99 on January 18, 2014 at 11:23 PM

Pretty good tilt. It was even for a while but Nystrom had a strong finish and that gives him a win here.

Posted by Massive Coiler on January 18, 2014 at 09:32 PM

I kind of thought McLeon would have the advantage here, but Nystrom was really throwing them. Nystrom only seems to get involved in good fights this year.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on January 20, 2014 at 01:37 AM

It ain't how you start, it's how you finish, and Nystrom finished this with a flurry of punches! Nice fight.

Posted by Biggus on January 19, 2014 at 12:27 PM

McLeod had good control until Nystrom gets his right arm out of the jersey and then it is all Nystrom.

Posted by chad420 on January 19, 2014 at 11:12 AM

good bout...win Eric The Red
