The only thing better than a genuinely tough real hockey player, is two of them dropping the gloves and going at it. Calling it a draw and wishing both of them were on my team.

I miss you clowe come back to SJ this off seaaon please!!!

my two favorite fighters! i win!

Posted by bajo39 on April 05, 2013 at 11:15 PM

Is there a cameraman strike around the league recently??

Posted by morecupsthanu on April 06, 2013 at 01:22 PM

Pretty even fight, slight edge Clowe. The greatest irony, not to mention funny , is when a certain idiot on here who always has to rip somebody ( probably because of his own insecurities) tells another to get spell check, yet has misspelled words of his own in his review.

Posted by kryon24 on April 06, 2013 at 08:42 AM

The more I see Clowe the more he impresses me. Taking on Eggy who is no slouch and willing to trade with him is impressive. Both got each other locked out eventually but were willing to square off and unload before hand. Lucky for each most missed or there will be blood. Why did Detroit not move on Clowe at the trade deadline? We are so weak and pathetic. I guess the good ol days of Grimson, McCartey, Probert and Kocur (and back even further they got Tiger Williams) are a thing of the past. Now its please don't hit me when I'm purewetting. Nice draw here anyways.

Posted by canamrugby on April 07, 2013 at 12:09 AM

Couldn't tell how good the fight was because the camera angles sucked.

Posted by BennyD on April 06, 2013 at 12:14 PM

Nothing substantial. 2 big boys going at it. Glad to see Clowe engage a fellow "heavy" in his 1st fight with the Rangers. I thought Matt Cooke toned a down a little after he ate Evander Kanes Right Hand, but I guess not. Wouldn't mind seeing him and Kaleta locked in a port-a-pottie and thrown off a cliff.

Posted by Redbush on April 06, 2013 at 01:00 AM

atta boy Clowe. Way to announce yourself. Derek is solid as always

Posted by staceyb on April 05, 2013 at 09:33 PM

They each got in their shots.

Posted by Don Berry on April 06, 2013 at 07:34 AM

Draw all the way! I am impressed with how Engelland as developed as a player

Posted by fernben8 on April 09, 2013 at 01:00 AM

Great pick up by the Rangers. I always felt Clowe was top 3 fighter on the West coast. Ranger fans won't be missing Prust as much with Clowe in the house. As for the fight, very close...going Draw.

Posted by GreatMurray on April 06, 2013 at 10:25 AM

Neither guy landed much. Both teams are lucky to have these two. What a pair of warriors. The Rangers have changed their play-off picture a ton. Got rid of the Euro-Sissy, Gaborik. Infused the team with a ton of character, Clowe. No damage...draw.

Posted by john-ny on April 05, 2013 at 08:38 PM

Close as they come.

Posted by whaleoil on April 06, 2013 at 02:15 PM

Draw. Good to see some grit on the Rangers again. It's going to be a busy schedule for Clowe these next few weeks.

Posted by rampart7577 on April 06, 2013 at 02:01 PM

Not bad, both landed some nice shots. Draw

Posted by center27 on April 06, 2013 at 11:07 AM

This fight was the definition of draw. Anyone picking a winner is just showing they are a homer for one or has disdain for the other.

Posted by DARCY T on April 14, 2013 at 02:00 PM

clowe's 1st fight as a ranger and he looks good in it.but could anybody vote for him in this fight??? im calling it draw but i can see a reason if anybody would vote for engelland.he landed a series of hard rights at 1:06

Posted by Grimm on April 11, 2013 at 01:51 PM

Draw.

Posted by JarHeadGabe on April 05, 2013 at 08:23 PM

Have to call a draw. Good fright from both, good shots landed. Hard to pick a winner.

Posted by SharkTank19 on April 08, 2013 at 12:50 AM

Nice good old fashioned scrap. Calling it a draw

Posted by Pug Face on April 06, 2013 at 11:31 AM

Nice!

Posted by plubber on April 10, 2013 at 03:26 AM

Lame jersey tug-fest, If you have to have a winner, its Clowe, he hasn't done much this year, so maybe this is his coming-out.

Posted by nojjon on April 06, 2013 at 10:10 PM

Good scrap, both landed shots, no clear winner, a draw.

Posted by rachelsdad on April 05, 2013 at 08:15 PM

Pretty even, both guys got some shots in. I call it a draw

Posted by shrk33 on April 06, 2013 at 02:24 AM

Clowe's physicality and toughness will be missed in SJ!

Posted by abadjoke88 on April 06, 2013 at 12:49 PM

Clowe takes close bout, great scrap. flpole quit being a homer and rate the fight not the sweater.

Posted by 777Big on April 06, 2013 at 06:57 AM

Clowe at the end for a close win.

Posted by lb1631 on April 06, 2013 at 05:20 PM

pretty good fight. I'm giving Clowe the slight edge because he made and landed the cleaner shots.

Posted by nigelneil on April 05, 2013 at 10:02 PM

Leafs2006 is one epic vagina

Posted by moneybags on April 06, 2013 at 02:57 PM

I give it to Clowe...he should of went to the Bruins tho....

Posted by Joceron on April 07, 2013 at 09:34 AM

Solid scrap, thank god for the NYRangers finally having someone to protect the boys. Even / edge to Clowe with last uppercut....6

Edge to Clowe who landed more effectively....

Posted by jnk07899 on April 09, 2013 at 03:59 PM

Clowe landed more and the better of the punches. Win.

Posted by SF BULLS 7 on April 05, 2013 at 08:23 PM

Clowies first scrap as a Ranger. NYC welcome him, Clowe's a beast!

Posted by skater1 on April 06, 2013 at 06:44 AM

Draw between two of the toughest guys in the NHL.

Posted by DaveBrown69 on April 08, 2013 at 07:25 AM

Pretty good scrap. Looked like a draw to me.

Posted by NukeLaloosh on April 06, 2013 at 12:58 PM

Clowe has been terrible all season (zero goals until the trade), he's traded to the Rangers, and he miraculously becomes Mark Messier overnight. The Ranger fans and East Coast media are a joke! The guy is a career 3rd liner who scored 20 goals a couple of times because of the talent he played with. ...and the fight was a draw, you New York homers! ...and the Rangers will miss the playoffs!

Posted by AC1026 on April 07, 2013 at 09:25 AM

Horrible camera angle..I call it a draw

Posted by iAMyourgrandma on April 06, 2013 at 12:53 PM

I heard that punches were thrown, but that must have happened while I was looking at official #19...

Posted by samtheman on April 06, 2013 at 07:57 PM

Engelland early, Clowe came on late. Draw.

Posted by bigdog2007 on April 05, 2013 at 09:47 PM

Draw. Both great fighters. Clowe didn't lose to Engellend like Orr did....huh. Only a complete moron would say Clowe is a POS. ...huh

Posted by Oil Can Henry on April 05, 2013 at 09:22 PM

...decent scrap, too close to call. Almost looked like Clowe was throwin' some forearms about half-way in. Engelland appeared to settle for the stoppage by locking-up and waiting for the linesmen,...

Posted by kkdowning on April 06, 2013 at 03:09 PM

Win (but slight win) for Clowe, good fight between 2 guys that know what they are doing. I wish he gave Bortuzzi the beating he deserves.

Posted by chad420 on April 06, 2013 at 12:46 PM

Clowe coming on @ the end for the W...decent tilt

Posted by SouthPaw017 on April 07, 2013 at 01:06 AM

Thought Clowe did the better work here... He had the better grip and neutralized Engelland's reach, as well as landed a few more... Decent scrap though....

Posted by Snoka on April 06, 2013 at 01:01 PM

Win for Clowe in a close bout

Posted by Em36 on April 07, 2013 at 10:59 AM

Not sure what you guys are seeing to pick a winer.

Posted by MikelOettinger on April 06, 2013 at 02:37 PM

Camera angles left much to be desired. Couldn't tell who did more damage but Engo definitely landed more.. both guys are beasts

Posted by Laserman on April 05, 2013 at 10:32 PM

@Leafs2006 Clowe is not a POS however you're a load your mom should have swallowed. Two warriors in a real close battle, slight edge Clowe...

Posted by ferdip on April 06, 2013 at 11:21 AM

NY finally got someone who can bang the board, score and fight

Posted by Rangerblue63 on April 06, 2013 at 01:47 PM

Clowe = Beast

Posted by cible on April 06, 2013 at 01:01 AM

I had the chance to watch the fight from an another angle than this one and Clowe clearly landed more than Engelland! I've always knowed Clowe was a beast and he will be able to prove is pugilistic talents more in the east! i'm lucking forward a Clowe Lucic brawl if Lucic has the balls!

Posted by simard3000 on April 06, 2013 at 02:33 AM

Win Clowe

Posted by scuntboy on April 07, 2013 at 12:34 AM

Pretty close fight, Slight edge Clowe

Posted by Flyers67 on April 06, 2013 at 08:41 PM

Excellent scrap Engelland early, Clowe often. Give a slight edge to Clowe.

Posted by gsrae on April 06, 2013 at 05:52 PM

Clowe is a great addition to the Rangers. He clearly beat Englund.

Posted by shawnrocks on April 05, 2013 at 08:50 PM

giving it to clowe

Posted by Orr Fourever on April 06, 2013 at 09:48 AM

Edge Ryan by a slight margin. Yeah a change of scenery has helped Ryan's game a lot. Well Deryk is Deryk he brings it every night. Need I say it. Both these two would be good Bruins HMMM I wonder if any habs would go with Clowe? I didn't think so either. Oh wait maybe PK Runban Hahahahahahahahahaha Jus kidden.

Posted by MStu on April 05, 2013 at 08:36 PM

Not much landed, but giving a slight edge to Deryk.

Posted by King of Goons on April 05, 2013 at 10:16 PM

Two really tough guys. Looked like Engelland got in the best shots early, but hard to tell with the sh*tty camera work. Disappointed in this fight as the potential was there for a classic. If Clowe doesn't re-sign with the Rangers they got jobbed with this trade. Great character guy. Engelland is a killer. Wish my team had him.

Posted by web1350 on April 06, 2013 at 12:57 AM

Close bout but gotta give it to DE. He scored the most quality punches. Hey Pittsbuegh and Engelland fans, get on Twitter and Facebook to get your votes in for Engelkand. Thats apoarentky what the Ranger fans are doing. I've been following the voting all along and DE had the lead. Now, all of a sudden Clowe has it. No other explanation.

Posted by pgriech2001 on April 12, 2013 at 02:04 PM

Engelland

Posted by 87CROSBY87 on April 06, 2013 at 12:54 AM

Once again the Slabs-Craps-Cryers fanboys are out in full force voting against a logo than what is in plain view DRAW

2 tough guys= 1 good fight only loser here is the camera man

Posted by weidnerr on April 06, 2013 at 06:22 PM

Pretty even fight

Posted by kyhammer on April 06, 2013 at 10:03 AM

Agree..terrible camera work. Really like both these players. Slight edge to Engelland.

Posted by donohuejay on April 06, 2013 at 12:26 PM

good scrap here, probably a draw, but the homer in me wants to give Engo the win with crisper punches

Posted by burnedtoast on January 05, 2014 at 08:26 PM

Close fight. Win to Engelland.

Posted by JaCort16 on April 08, 2013 at 11:28 AM

Great two tough fighters, nothing drastic landed but both got in shots. Look liked Engelland controlled most of the fight, so slight edge to DE or Draw.

Posted by Donm8r on April 06, 2013 at 12:48 PM

DE early and often. Clowe late. Good fight by both guys.

Posted by Redrover37 on April 05, 2013 at 08:29 PM

Clowe came in with more of a fighting reputation, so my expectations were higher for him. DE has shown he can take on the big dogs, and was more agressive throghout. Win DE, Clowe maintained respect.

Posted by Ibpantera on April 06, 2013 at 01:15 AM

Great fight, I think DE got in enough early to squeak this one out. Looking forward to this becoming a usual occurrence now that Clowe is in NY.

Posted by Boone2511 on April 05, 2013 at 10:36 PM

Engo jumped all over him in the beginning and seemed to land more throughout, gotta give him the slight W, but I could see a draw

Posted by cossack757 on April 23, 2013 at 12:39 AM

DE slight edge

Posted by flpole on April 06, 2013 at 08:10 AM

DE landed more solid in the beginning Ranger fans suck.

Clowe

Posted by Radiotalker on April 10, 2013 at 02:46 PM

Not sure why Clowe is getting the vote on this one. Clear draw.

Posted by BadazzBruins11 on April 07, 2013 at 06:29 PM

2 real tough fellas here. good bout, Draw

Posted by Mounty in NC on April 09, 2013 at 07:28 PM

Definately a draw...both landed a few but neither more than the other. Good bout. I don't understand why I see comments that say close bout, very even but gonna give the win to this person. That is what a draw if for.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on April 05, 2013 at 11:21 PM

Giving it a draw although the shitty camera work didn't allow a true judgement.

Posted by fightslikebambi on April 05, 2013 at 08:43 PM

Spirited struggle...and a draw

Posted by gmr133 on April 08, 2013 at 11:54 AM

Draw between two heavyweights (although people always forget DE is "only" 6'2" 205. Good tilt.

Posted by billy jack on April 05, 2013 at 08:06 PM

nice tilt, gave it too clowe but not the best camera work.is engeland that big or is clowe smaller then i thought he was.

Posted by dogace on April 06, 2013 at 11:34 AM

good close tilt... slight w engo

Posted by ironbar44 on April 05, 2013 at 09:05 PM

not much landing ,ENGELLAND Just throws cleaner crisper punches.10 point must, 10 -9 ENGELLAND

Posted by bammer24 on April 06, 2013 at 10:28 PM

For Christ sake the Camera work in NHL stinks this year. Was this part of the lockout they didn`t tell us about.Fire the full time Camera guys for part time. This fight for what I could see of it looked to me like Engelland landed more and was more aggresive.Clowe is tough but has to prove himself in the East.He can`t live on a reputation here. He`s always willing to walk away quikly after a fight.Coming to the East might be just what he needed.A good wake up call.He wasn`t playing this well in San Jose. Hey Cible for God`s sake use a spell check.Learn how to form lines too. You want to know if Lucic has the Balls to Fight Clowe. This from a man who had Boldbilly`s Balls in his mouth.By the way sorry to hear Subban is out for the year with a torn ACL.By the way morecupsthanyou you little arrogant P rick how are Boldbillys Balls since you mouth washed them first.

Posted by Kordic64 on April 05, 2013 at 08:36 PM

Good tilt. Draw

Posted by RockemSockem16 on April 06, 2013 at 04:56 PM

Clowe is a beast and he gets the win here

Posted by 5minmajor420 on April 07, 2013 at 03:02 PM

I agree this is a draw and an amazing fight from what I could see...further I agree with the godawful camerawork consensus. Better camerawork on this one than the other night where they felt the need to follow the guy who had the puck skating around like a free skate while the fight was going on. Get it together camera operators and directors.

Posted by Behn Wilson on April 06, 2013 at 12:13 PM

Clowe's sheer strength is just too much for the tough but lanky Engelland as the latter is never allowed the distance to properly utilize his monster right bajo39 reads my mind vis a vis seemingly league-wide lack of Hitchcockian camerawork Both guys would look great on any team but like the man has always said... Clowe's a beast

Posted by Leafs2006 on April 05, 2013 at 09:02 PM

one tough customer? The ranger announcers are a s bad as Edwards and Brickley, Clowe is a P.O.S. Engelland with the win here.
