Peters follows suit and they grab ahold of each other with Norton throwing an early right. Norton follows with with a pair of body shots just before Peters attempts two rights. Peters throws two more rights and Norton four more shots before Norton loses his balance and starts to fall to the ice. While he is falling, Peters gets Norton in a headlock and starts throwing short rights. Peters gets in two more while Norton is down on the ice and the linesmen are quick to rush in.

Peters responds with two hard rights while Orr throws two short rights that miss their mark. Orr throws another right and Peters starts firing away with a flurry of rights that Orr tries attempts to duck away from. Peters connects with an uppercut inside and the two then exchange rights until Peters is able to wrestle Orr down to the ice. The linesmen quickly jump in and end the fight shortly after.

Belak throws a series of jersey-jabs mixed in with rights and an uppercut while Peters is turned around. Peters returns fire with a right and Belak continues to throw jersey-jabs and the occasional right hand. The same exact exchange happens once more until the two start going back and forth with rights. They continue to exchange a mix of punches at a slow pace until Peters gets Belak up against the boards and throws two quick rights just before the linesmen grab the two.

They square off for a short while and grab onto each other, each waiting for an opportunity to strike. Peters opens up and throws three quick rights, causing Grant to return fire with a pair of lefts. Peters throws two more rights and Grant throws five lefts just before landing an uppercut inside. They exchange lefts and Grant gets in a right just as the two are falling to the ice. The linesmen jump on top of the two and end the scrap.

Antero Niittymaki makes the save on a diving Drew Stafford shot and behind the play, Richards has challenged Paetsch and the two have dropped the gloves. They grab ahold of each other and Richards throws four overhand rights to the back of Paetsch's head with Paetsch returning fire in the form of a right as well. Richards connects with an uppercut followed by three more rights and Paetsch throws a short right before he falls to the ice. Richards gets in another right while he is down, but the linesmen are there to quickly grab the two.

Mair throws four lefts at a locked-out Eager and then takes his helmet off, throwing it to the ice. Mair throws another left and Eager slams him down to the ice. Eager throws two lefts while the two are down and the linesmen quickly move in.

They go back and forth with rights and McGrattan makes sure to add in a few jersey-jabs during the exchange. McGrattan throws two more rights that hit Peters' helmet and Peters comes back with one of his own, but the linesmen are right there to skate on in and break things up.

Roy switches hands and starts pumping away with the left while Peters ducks down and throws two overhand rights. They lose their balance and fall to the ice with Peters throwing two rights on the way down. The linesmen rush in and break it up.

They exchange rights and Paetsch goes down to his knees for a second. Mezei throws two uppercuts while Paetsch is getting back up. They exchange rights again and Mezei is able to connect with his punch, following with two more rights after that. They lose their balance and fall to the ice with Paetsch throwing two overhand rights just as the linesmen are coming in. Other Penalties: Paetsch received an instigator and misconduct.

Spacek goes straight to the ice with Nichol bent over him. Martin Biron is the first to respond and with gear on he gives Nichol a few pokes to the back of the head before trying to peel off Nichol as a big crowd gathers. Michael Leighton skates to center ice, but is warned before crossing the line. Nothing else develops as the linesmen and refs break it up. Spacek laid on the ice for a minute or so before returning to the Sabres' bench. Other Penalties: Nichol received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct; Spacek an interference. Jaroslav Spacek did not receive a fighting major.

Right off of the faceoff, the two drop the gloves and square off in front of the Sabres' bench. They grab ahold of each other and Belak misses with a left jab, allowing Peters to throw two rights. Belak returns fire with eight unanswered punches, a mix of overhand rights, jersey-jabs, and uppercuts. Peters finally responds with a right and they go back and forth with rights until Belak takes control once again, connecting with a few rights to the back of Peters' head. Peters goes with the right once again and they spin around until Peters loses his balance and starts to fall to the ice. Belak connects with a right to Peters' chest while he is falling and the linesmen quickly intervene.

The two exchange words and then quickly drop the gloves before grabbing ahold of one another. Peters connects with three rights to the side of Alberts' helmet to start things off. Alberts returns fire with a right, but Peters continues to swing away with the right, throwing two right crosses and two uppercuts. Alberts attempts a locked-out right and Peters throws three more rights while they skate into the boards. Peters gets Alberts' helmet off and Alberts responds with a short right followed by a left hook that hits the top of Peters' forehead. Alberts then misses with a right cross, but loses his balance and falls to the ice. Peters cocks back his right hand, but the linesmen are right there to grab them and end the fight.

Shelley throws a right that knocks him off-balance, allowing Peters to throw two rights. They each get in a short right and then fall to the ice with Peters throwing a right as they go down. The linesmen then quickly jump on top of them and break things up.

Primeau returns fire with a flurry of four rights that Mair is able to avoid for the most part. Mair lands two overhand rights to the back of Primeau's head while they spin around and go down to their knees. Primeau then wrestles Mair to the ice and cocks back his right hand, but the linesmen are right there to end the fight.

One of the linesman tries to break things up, but they end up grabbing ahold of one another and dropping the gloves. Boyes starts things off with three rights and Lydman returns fire with three rights of his own during the flurry. They then go toe-to-toe with rights. Lydman stops throwing and Boyes continues to throw a mix of rights, uppercuts, and body shots. Boyes gets Lydman's helmet off and his jersey up and over his head, and follows that up with a few rights to the side and top of Lydman's head. Lydman throws two blind rights and Boyes comes back with one of his own before they stop throwing and allow the linesmen to come on in. Lydman skated away with a cut over his left eye.

Peters then connects with three straight right crosses and Stortini responds with two short rights during the flurry. Peters then gets Stortini turned to the side and throws five straight rights to the back of his head. Stortini returns fire with three rights to the back of Peters' head. Peters gets in two uppercuts and Stortini throws a right that hits Peters' back just before they get in-close. Peters throws a right to the side of Stortini's head and Stortini goes ahead and locks Peters up. Peters switches hands and is able to get his left free, proceeding to land five consecutive lefts to the back of Stortini's head. Stortini then wrestles Peters down to the ice and the linesmen skate on in to break things up.

Campbell comes back with two overhand rights and Umberger is quick to answer with a left jab followed by a left hook that Campbell is able to duck under. Campbell tries to push Umberger off-balance, but Umberger goes down to his knees for just a moment. Umberger gets back up to his feet and throws another right. Umberger nearly loses his balance, but is able to stay on his feet. Campbell switches hands and throws a left cross. Umberger returns fire with two uppercuts and then pulls Campbells jersey up and over his head while he is bent over. The linesmen decide to intervene and then grab them, quickly ending the fight. Other Penalties: Umberger received an instigator and misconduct.

Fedoruk gets Peters in a semi-headlock and Peters takes advantage of the situation, connecting with a body shot. They then wrestle around, each attempting a few short shots during the struggle. Peters is able to throw a straight right and Fedoruk responds with a left. Peters is able to get Fedoruk's helmet partially off and then lands five straight rights to the side of his head. Peters tries to throw Fedoruk to the ice, but Fedoruk is able to stay on his feet and throws a right followed by a left hook that misses. They then decide to just hold on until the linesmen are ready to come in and end the fight.

Chris Drury shoots the puck towards the Ottawa net and Neil nails him with a hit while he isn't looking. Drury falls to the ice and lays there with blood dripping from his forehead. Stafford quickly skates back and goes after Neil with the two pushing and shoving. They drop their gloves and Neil throws a right at a bent over Stafford. Neil throws another one after that and the two then spin to the ice. Stafford has his jersey up and over his head. The linesmen immediately come in and separate them. Drury is eventually taken back to the dressing room after a few minutes.

They grab ahold of each other and Emery throws five straight rights while Biron is trying to move away from the punches and eventually falls to the ice. Emery pins Biron on the ice and then eventually lets him up only to get tripped to the ice himself by Biron. Emery gets back to his feet and the two skate away from each other. One of the linesmen tries to grab Peters, but quickly decides to let them continue. Peters throws another right and Emery attempts a short right of his own. They exchange rights and Peters pushes Emery towards the side boards while Emery is smiling and laughing. Peters connects with another right, but the linesmen and one of the referees are right there to break things up. Other Penalties: Each player received a leaving the crease penalty and game misconduct.

Spezza goes to the ground and everyone piles in. Volchenkov grabs Mair from behind and prevents him from doing anything else to Spezza. The continue to wrestle around in the pile until they are eventually separated by the linesmen. Other Penalties: Mair receievd an instigator and misconduct; Patrick Kaleta and Chris Phillips each received a misconduct.

Kaleta gets in an early left and then rips Veilleux's helmet off. Veilleux pins Kaleta up against the boards and throws three straight rights while Kaleta tries to move away and block the shots. They wrestle around until Kaleta throws a left to the back of Veilleux's head, allowing Veilleux to throw another right. Kaleta comes back with two overhand rights at a bent over Veilleux. Kaleta then gets in an uppercut just as they lose their balance and fall to the ice with the linesmen right there to grab them and end the fight.

They square off in front of the Sabres' net and grab ahold of each other. Brashear starts things off with a flurry of four lefts. Peters loses his balance and falls to the ice, but is quick to get back up to his feet. Peters comes back with two rights, but loses his balance once again and goes down to his knees, bringing Brashear down with him. They get back up and Brashear throws three lefts at the back of Peters' head. Peters returns fire with three rights while Brashear is able to mix in two lefts in between the shots. Brashear pulls Peters down to the ice and then throws five lefts to the back of Peters' head when he gets back up. Peters throws a left and Brashear answers with a flurry of seven straight lefts of his own. Peters throws another left and Brashear then connects with one final left that knocks Peters to the ice. Brashear falls on top of Peters and the linesmen are right there to grab them and break things up. Other Penalties: Peters received an unsportsmanlike conduct.
