why the **** wasn't Neil left on the ice after the hit? He started it so he should have been kept on the ice for Peters. I ment to say after Niel served his penalty

CaligulaJones sez:

Do the math: Neil got 5 minutes at 5:07. That means he's in until 10:07. Peters was thrown out at 5:13...

First of all, the Sabres are where the Senators were a few years back...full of stars and no one to back them up in tough situations. They've toughened up lately and stood up for themselves, so I have to give them that much. Neil's hit was legit, clean and deserved. What's the number one rule for a forward? Never keep your head down. Keep your head down and you can end up getting hurt. I've seen plenty of hits like this before and yes, it does suck, but its not a dirty hit. The Sabres responded how I would've liked the Senators to had this been the reverse. Emery didn't get a chance to fight all that much, I've seen him fight both goalies and forwards before and he can lay them pretty good. Biron was lucky. Overall, this was a good bout, reminded me of the Philly vs Ottawa fight-fest a few years back when Ottawa was out to prove that they could play with the big boys. To all Sabres fans: Welcome, this is where big boys play.

the point of this whole thing was mair popping spezza in the jaw but volchenkov did a pretty good job of keeping that to minimum. would have been interesting to see what would have happend there if the cameras hadn't gone to that ridiculous goalie fight.

I've always loved Buffalo's announcer, he makes the fights even better with his passion. And he isn't a total homer like a lot of other teams (Ottawa especially) And listen to that crowd, tough to believe the front office just doesn't get it......

That was possibly the worst brawl i have ever seen, in terms of brawls. The goalie fight was stupid. I'm a Sabres fan, Peters was out of line for fighting a goalie he should have just continued after Healtey. Mair had a couple of good punches on Spezza. It could have been a lot better in fighting caterogy if Gaustad wasn't out for the year. It will be interesting to see what happens Saturday. Maybe they should recall a tough guy from Rochester because Peters obvisously isn't enough projection for the Sabres.

I think everybody is missing three things. 1) Chris Drury should not pass the puck while skating across the middle and watch where the puck ends up. Keep your head up. 2) Why did Peter ever take on a Gaolie is beyond me especially after Emery took out Biron. Peters you are a coward. 3) Where was the rest of the Sentaors when their Goalie was fighting. Now that is protection. I do not blame what Ruff did as teams have been running his players all year but Mr Drury this is the NHL.

Any of you that think that was a clean hit on Drury haven't watched much hockey or don't know **** about player code.

several seconds late after the puck is gone from your stick is completely un-defenfable. THERE'S NOTHING ELSE !! Drury is one of the better two way players in the league and handles the rough going as good as anyone.

Now I hope they beat Ottawa's ass Saturday on the score board and bust a few Senator melons. Learn a little hockey reality boys.

i've seen neil fight many heavyweights that have 20-30 pounds on him, and if you didn't notice emery was still smiling with peters, who has about a 40 pound advantage there, im not a big sens fan, but you can't call those guys *******

Clean hit on Drury but needed a response because of how unecessary it was.
It wasn't an illegal hit by Neil but it was somewhat cheap.
Glad to see some toughness in the Northeast Division.
