Comments: Ballard knocks Backes down with an open-ice hit. Backes gets up and challenges Ballard who accepts. They drop the gloves, remove the helmets, and square off near the side boards. Backes connects with two jabs before they even grab onto each other. Ballard flails away and finally gets a piece of Backes' jersey. Ballard throws three rights to the side of Backes' head. Backes answers with a right cross during the flurry. Ballard then pushes Backes to the ice and the linesmen are right there to break things up.

Comments: Keith Ballard flips Barret Jackman upside down with a hip check along the boards. Brewer goes right after Ballard, grabbing ahold of him and pushing him from behind. Boynton skates over and grabs Brewer. They drop the gloves and Boynton throws two quick rights. Brewer answers with a right. They spin and around and exchange rights until Boynton loses his balance and falls to the ice. Boynton tries to stand up and Brewer misses with a right, causing him to fall down. Boynton falls on top of him and gets in a short right just as the linesmen are jumping on top of them. Other Penalties: Each player received a roughing.

Comments: Behind the play the two drop the gloves and grab ahold of each other. Boll pumps away with some jersey-jabs before throwing an underhand right. Carcillo responds with an overhand right. They spin around and Boll gets in an uppercut. Carcillo throws a combination of jersey-jabs and a right and Boll returns fire with the same. Carcillo turns around and throws a wild right hook that is off the mark, knocking them off-balance and to the ice where the linesmen are awaiting their arrival.

Comments: Right off of the faceoff they drop the gloves and Nichol comes charging at Carcillo. Carcillo throws a right and Nichol goes down to his knees for a moment. He gets back up and takes another right from Carcillo. They then go toe-to-toe with rights for a couple of seconds until Nichol falls to the ice once again. Carcillo gets in a few rights while they are down but the linesmen quickly step in and separate the two.

Comments: Ed Jovanovski hits Clarkson into the boards while Clarkson tries to play the puck up ice. Dainius Zubrus slips and falls while going after the puck and inadvertently kicks Carcillo in the face. Carcillo goes down with his hands over his face. Meanwhile Clarkson skates around Carcillo and bumps Jovanovski in retaliation for his hit moments earlier. They go nose-to-nose and Clarkson drops his gloves. Carcillo gets up and grabs Clarkson, dropping his gloves during the journey over. They spin around and Carcillo sticks a left hand in Clarkson's face. Clarkson throws a right that knocks the two off-balance and to the ice. Carcillo gets in a right just before the linesmen jump on top of them. Other Penalties: Clarkson received a roughing.
