decent scrap. draw.

Posted by chris_mcallister on March 19, 2008 at 03:23 PM

Another fight that you clowns go searching for a winner. Textbook draw.

Posted by xTYRANTx on March 18, 2008 at 09:06 PM

Good fight both guys were chuckin em, solid draw.

Posted by Acar7711 on March 18, 2008 at 04:39 PM

Good battle. Rypien continues to impress Carcillo also. Looks like both have bright futures. Exciting for us on this site if they keep this up.

two punchers with fast hands. great scrap. rypien is a great kid, made a strong impression on his teammates the past couple months. he should stick around.

Posted by OriginalSix on September 13, 2010 at 01:14 PM

Epic fight. Solid DRAW.

Posted by slav on March 18, 2008 at 08:02 AM

Great toe-to-toe bout. Pretty much traded punch for punch. Draw.

Good fight. Draw.

Posted by Juha82 on March 18, 2008 at 05:10 AM

A great fight to me because of high-energy level. I give 8 for fun. It's a draw as they landed about same amount of punches. Rypien with a great takedown. I can seeing slight edge to Rypien.

Posted by jcm on March 18, 2008 at 07:10 PM

Now "That's" what I'm talking about.... Too bad the huggers and hangers-on can't go to school here. If you're gonna drop 'em and go, THIS is how you do it boys. This should be mandatory viewing for ALL of the so-called "fighters" in the NHL. Lot's of punches thrown, and I'm sure some of them found home. Kudos to both of these guys!!! Draw.

Posted by Humper on March 18, 2008 at 07:49 PM

Good and entertaining bout. I voted draw but have no quarrel with a choice either way - this was close.

Posted by jak1210 on March 19, 2008 at 07:47 PM

Pretty much a draw, maybe a slight edge to Rypien, but I could watch Carcillo scrap 7 day a week.

Posted by Taubi on October 22, 2009 at 04:17 AM

both great, this is a draw!!!

Posted by plum29 on March 18, 2008 at 01:36 AM

solid fight. not fight of the year, but a good fight.

Posted by br4incell on March 20, 2008 at 02:53 PM

One hell of a fight. Although Rypien did a little hair pulling for a second which could give the edge to carcillo, thats just too close to call there. I think Rypien came out strong but Carcillo matched the intensity. You may be able to give him the win for the takedown but its just too close. Hellova fight!

Posted by mikebflorida on March 18, 2008 at 09:18 AM

Ya gotta love these two guys! It looked like Rypien got a little better of that exchange as Carcillo had a tampon in his nose later on but he still dished out plenty himself so I gave it a draw. Great fight!

Posted by Btrash on March 22, 2008 at 12:27 AM

A flurry of punches by each player. Draw.

Posted by powerball on March 19, 2008 at 04:57 PM

a great fight. there were a lot of punches thrown and landing. a draw.

Posted by cotefan92 on March 18, 2008 at 10:16 PM

One of the best fights this year. Called it a draw with slight edge to rypien

Posted by lakingsfan19 on March 19, 2008 at 04:22 PM

I think carcillo met his match. (in his own class) After watching this a second time I gave the win to Rypien. Wow you have to go toe to toe with carcillo to beat him..

Posted by Gunslinger on March 19, 2008 at 08:19 AM

Again, the smaller guys show the heavy's how a fight should be fought. Just hang on and throw. I give the edge to Rypien although calling it a draw would'nt get an argument from me.

Posted by yoach on March 18, 2008 at 11:13 AM

nice bout , way to throw em boys . slight edge to Rypien for a shot that got Carcillo late . great energy

Posted by Ragtop1day on March 18, 2008 at 05:27 PM

looks like a lot of punches thrown, not sure how many landed. They should have taken their helmets off at the beginning...Rypien clearly was stronger at the end.

Posted by Bear72 on March 18, 2008 at 01:05 PM

Good dustup i like this fight

Posted by shrk33 on March 18, 2008 at 02:50 PM

good bout by both, rypien gets the win

Posted by Tony Esposito on March 18, 2008 at 11:46 AM

Rypien has been impressing the shit out of me.

Posted by BrianTheAdsFan on March 18, 2008 at 09:42 AM

Rypien with the win. Was close early with both trading away. Rypien had more at the end of the bout.

Posted by Art24 on March 18, 2008 at 01:31 PM

Rypien with the edge

Posted by iceman88 on March 18, 2008 at 08:18 AM

Very spirited bout.! Rypien stop throwing when Carcillo went down, showed some class. Good to see. Have to give Carcillo some credit for fighting with a knee brace. Your legs are just as much a part of it as anything else!

Posted by moneybags on March 18, 2008 at 03:42 AM

both threw some hard blows .rypiens connected more carcillo hung in there but lost thisone

Posted by MajorGroove on January 20, 2009 at 11:17 PM

Rypien takes it to Carcillo. Good scrap gave it a 7.

Posted by jmackisback on March 18, 2008 at 01:46 AM

Good close scrap, but edge to Rypien. For a 180lb'er, he throws heavy, fast bombs!

Posted by Scott4 on March 19, 2008 at 11:04 AM

Nice classic T-2-T fight. Both guys showed an accurate punches..slidge edge for Rypien.

Posted by randle44 on March 18, 2008 at 02:27 AM

Rypien no contest

Posted by Leafs2006 on March 19, 2008 at 06:30 PM

Nice post from the very first post, Chris_Mccallister, the positive vibes beam from you, im betting your a single, lonely man by your post, anyway, great fight! 2 middleweights....slight edge to Rypien. Bah Humbug McCallister

Posted by redwingjs on March 18, 2008 at 02:32 AM

Rypien gets the edge. One of his bombs landed and it had Carcillo ducking away. Great scrap.

Posted by alan28 on March 18, 2008 at 01:34 AM

Good fight good punches landed by both got to give it to rypien for coming on strong at the end and getting the take down

Posted by averybear on April 08, 2008 at 10:58 PM

Rypien is a great flyweight....good job!

Posted by megnlou06 on March 19, 2008 at 02:51 AM

good scrap!

Posted by Sukoshi84 on March 18, 2008 at 03:43 PM

Great Fight!!!! i give Rypien the slight win, to me it lloked like he landed better shots. FOTY Nominee, both these kids are tough as hell. we need more gamers like this in the league

Posted by Smokingpotatoes on March 18, 2008 at 02:19 PM

Great fight for both men, 5'11 170 for rypien and 5'11 192 for carcillo!!! great fight with a flurry of rights and lefts by both player kind of reminds me of the asham and cote fight earlier in the season, slight edge to rypien landing more and with the takedown

Posted by tim13 on March 18, 2008 at 02:45 AM

Edge to Rypien in a good one. It would have been a draw if not for that shot that Rypien landed causing Carcillo to duck away. Basically, Rypien got the better of a spirited toe to toe battle where whoever was lucky enough to land the heaviest, accurate shot would win.

Posted by ibled4theusa on March 18, 2008 at 01:22 PM

Carcillo turns PUSS? Throws all kinda punches but loses his armor and turns totally EURO. Obviously those Rypien'em up bombs connected. Very disappointed in Danny's quit. SO VERY NHL Least. In the NHL WBEST WE EXPECT EITHER KO OR KEEP THROWING, NO FCK'N EUROS.

Posted by roundhouse4u on March 18, 2008 at 02:47 PM

now thats a fight . great job on smashing each others faces in. i give the edge to rypien. even though vancouver has a bunch of pre madanna's on the team. hey oooooo

Posted by Bieksanator on March 21, 2008 at 12:55 PM

Carcillo's a bitch this isnt Burr hes fightin here.

Posted by Jake_Sharpe on September 27, 2008 at 02:48 AM

Rypien has now made himself known

Posted by thebigbea55 on March 19, 2008 at 11:28 PM

great fight... win rypien.. i love when this guy fights.. this guy is only 170 lbs but takes on much bigger guys..

Posted by Mack Seaton on March 18, 2008 at 09:15 AM

Win Rypien. Good fight.

Posted by radek200 on March 18, 2008 at 01:51 AM

I love this Rypien guy.

Posted by Spon on March 22, 2008 at 06:18 PM

(sung to free falling) I'm freeeeee. Free swing-ing

Posted by SlaveTrader on March 18, 2008 at 11:07 PM

Great Fight. Once Again Rypien shows the Golden gloves skills his dad passed down to him.. Good Showing on Carcillos part but seems to take a couple stingers and shy away which means i have to give to call to Rick Rip N Tear Rypien!

Posted by slshbleed on March 18, 2008 at 10:08 AM

If only, they all fought like this! Rypper has been impressive. Carcillo is no slouch either. Rypien lands a good left then Carcillo has to get his head down. Rypien also got in a pretty good right. i don't see this fight as being close. Its not a knock on Carcillo, however.

Posted by Brashearfan on March 18, 2008 at 12:21 PM

Great fight by both fighters. I love this kind of energy. Win Rypien, but it was very close.

Posted by Luke77 on March 18, 2008 at 05:12 PM

good fight Rypien got him at the end

Posted by BattleAxe13 on March 18, 2008 at 04:40 PM

Great fight with two lightweights I really enjoyed it. There have been some boring ones as of late but this one is probably one of the better this year. I give a very slight edge to Rypien for taking over in the end and getting a takedown, other than that it was close.

Posted by icehockeykid12 on March 18, 2008 at 04:42 PM

cool!

Posted by Jesticle on March 25, 2008 at 04:25 PM

Carcillo got dumped and took a few good shots. Win Rypien.

Posted by Muscles on March 19, 2008 at 06:24 PM

I don't know if an opponent can even feel Carcillo's punches, but he certainly throws a lot of them.

Posted by brunis_pens on March 18, 2008 at 09:10 AM

dan carcillo's win is evidently seen by the count of punches he threw into rypien's face. that's what i saw, maybe i'm just a little bit strange than you, bitches :)

Posted by mAnYsTyLeS on March 18, 2008 at 02:58 PM

Carcillo won in my eyes PLUS he's injured. I have no idea what some of you see...

Posted by SirYohans on March 21, 2008 at 03:32 PM

Why so many votes for Rypien here? I originally gave the edge to Carcillo on the threads but I'm voting DRAW here after seeing that Rypien did land good shots. But I don't know about that punch that many of u are giving the win to Rypien for... It looked like both guys just needed a breather from the initial non-stop flurry. It wasn't THAT huge & Carcillo did enough for a DRAW imo.

Posted by getchoome on March 18, 2008 at 07:41 PM

Great fight! It's about time too, because there haven't been many worth watching lately.

Posted by PFLY64 on March 19, 2008 at 09:16 AM

IS GRETZKY GOING TO WHINE ABOUT THIS GUY AS MUCH AS HE WHINED ABOUT FIGHTING WHEN HE HAD CEMENT HEAD ON HIS TEAM, THIS IS MORE THAN JUST A COACH STICKING UP FOR HIS PLAYER

Posted by bigdog2007 on March 18, 2008 at 11:46 AM

Wow. This Rypien kid is impressive.

Posted by STL13 on March 18, 2008 at 06:23 AM

Good series of punches. Neither guy got stomped on (pardon the pun). Nice fight boy! Edge to Rypien.

Posted by ROCK HAWK on March 18, 2008 at 09:53 AM

umm...LOL Yeah it was a spirited fight. Danny beat the crap out of Rypien's right shoulder pad. Too wild, out of control. The fight was not close - Rypien lands about 10 more. Not sure if some of you actually WATCH these fights. Carcillo looks good i guess to some ppl with his arms and hair flailing away. But he lands 1 or maybe 2 punches..come on

Posted by phantomsfan15 on March 18, 2008 at 09:50 AM

carcillo needs to quit his day job lol bring josh gratton back lol!!!!!! That was almost as bad as when we attempted to fight ivanans!!!!

Posted by crazybubs on March 19, 2008 at 01:27 PM

Rypien takes a close one, nice to see em go toe to toe.

Posted by nigelneil on March 18, 2008 at 02:02 PM

Good scrap. Rypien winner.

Posted by MakaveliTrained on March 18, 2008 at 11:42 AM

Good close fight but Rypien won cause Carcillo ran there at the end...

Posted by eadamson on March 19, 2008 at 04:43 PM

Close fight since they bombed on each other equally at the beginning, but then Rypien gets a few in which make Carcillo turn away. Those, plus the end, give Rypien the win.

Posted by Jwcolour on March 18, 2008 at 03:07 AM

Close one...looks like Rypien hits him a few more times....I love these kinds of fights where they are just throwing and going nuts.

Posted by growsales1 on March 18, 2008 at 07:58 PM

rypien all the way

Posted by uncle_zio on March 18, 2008 at 02:33 AM

good throws both ways, rypien with the edge

Posted by J.R. Abel on January 07, 2010 at 05:53 PM

These featherweights are more entertaining to watch than most heavies. Win for Rypien, and not just because Carcillo is a puke.

Posted by uconn on March 18, 2008 at 05:03 PM

Great toe to toe fight, Carcillo was good but the edge goes to Rypien

Posted by chad420 on April 03, 2009 at 10:48 PM

sick fight...an 8...win Ripper....the best middleweight

Posted by muskokadangler on April 15, 2010 at 05:21 PM

Just a great fight!!!!!

Posted by mclean1907 on March 23, 2009 at 01:39 AM

Great fight and great punches. Well done.

Posted by Wolf_eyes on March 18, 2008 at 01:29 PM

thats as good as it gets. wow.

Posted by r0b07 on March 26, 2008 at 03:23 AM

I was at the game, it was a great fight. Pretty even, but Rypien's punches did more damage (Carcillo had plugs up his nose after that one!)
