Ouch! That first punch lost it for Stortini, and he was in pain after.

Rypien beat the tar out of Stortini. Stortini doesn't turn anybody down. Too bad he can't fight. Maybe he should turn down a few. I don't see how getting the crap beat out of you can help your team - when you are supposed to be 'the enforcer". I'd be more afraid of Ales Hemsky than Stortini.

Not even close. Stortini way out classed and had no chance to do the Huggy Bear thing.

Rypien with the TKO.

No wonder Alain Vigneault loves this guy so much. The smackdown Rypien gave Prust when he was in Calgary was domination enough but now he whoops this much bigger opponent so easily. Interesting Hordy and Stortini were chatting at the face-off but Zack decided to dance with the smaller Rypien instead... bad choice.

The shot of the Oilers bench tells you exactly how that fight went. So does the shot of the linesman hugging Zack and telling him that it's ok now, the beating is over.

Gotta love these skills - the quick first punch, the switch to right uppercuts, the blocks with the left forearm. Rypien is a lot of fun to watch.

Rypien is a definitely one of the best fighters in any weight class. He's proving himself against the heavies, but he doesn't have to. He's fun to watch.

Look at that Oilers bench, after the fight, they're all saying... "Woah.... "

Rypien was sporting a pretty good shiner in the game, but I think that was from his bout with Brookbank, and probably got tagged there again by Stortini (he did connect with a couple when he tried to throw). Zack also had a shiner and a nice welt on his cheek developing.

Rypien sure is fun to watch. Nobody ragdolls him yet, they are too busy catching his flurry of punches. I think some on this site are a little hopeful in thinking he can go with the real heavyweights - he would be game but just doesn't have the power to compete. It would be like a boxer going up two weight classes, that is a lot to ask.

I see the site has him at 184 pounds now, that is probably wishful thinking, this guy is barely bigger than Wellwood. It would be interesting to see him match up with Asham (I consider light heavy), but again he would be giving up 25+ pounds and AA has some punching power. I'd like to see him with Tootoo and Carcillo again as well.

Well I guess we now know what happens when balls-to-the-wall goes against boring.....BTTW wins.
And that was the lamest, save-face, knuckle check/hand shake as Stortini skated off....once he got in the tunnel and out of view of the home fans his knuckles stopped hurting apparently.
