7.9??! REALLY? Draw because Orr actually landed shots that hurt, while Brashear gave us what he always does: quick short hooks to try to knock the other guy off balance. I really can't give this over a 5, you knew exactly what was going to happen going in.

Posted by dropem69 on February 13, 2009 at 04:22 PM

I would love to watch the fight that the people saw that shows Orr winning! I give the edge to Brash......

Posted by paddyd on February 12, 2009 at 02:44 PM

To tough to score as both did well. Watched it several times minus the audio and couldn't really decide. A draw seems appropriate.

Posted by jealeman on February 11, 2009 at 11:13 PM

I have to give this a draw. Yeah, Brashear began throwing everything at Orr, but only connected with the back of his head. Both fighters probably landed a few, but not the knockout blow. Good scrap.

Posted by mikebflorida on February 12, 2009 at 09:16 AM

Hmmm...seems like the homers are out in full force for both guys. You won't see a more clear draw than this one but people here gotta have a winner for some dumb reason. sigh

Posted by upyours on February 12, 2009 at 10:54 AM

If either of these guys landed a decent punch, I didn't see it. Still, they are two guys that will throw 'em...and throw 'em...and keep throwin' 'em. Draw.

Posted by Bud_W_Eiser on February 12, 2009 at 06:28 PM

Brasher seemed to throw alot more; didn't look like many landed; Orr seemed to land more

Posted by lgbar75 on February 12, 2009 at 06:58 AM

tpr 1960: if anything Orr was still trying to throw at the end. Brash looked gassed at the end, but to his credit, he kept Orr's right tied up till the officilas come in. I scored it a draw. Brash landed his flurry of punches to the back of the head, but Orr absorbed them and came back with the best punch of the fight: a straight right which knocked Brash's helmet off and momentarily stopped him. Orr also missed with a wicked uppercut, with his elbowpad smacking Brash in the face.

Posted by siouxfan1 on February 12, 2009 at 11:07 AM

Close fight a draw!

Posted by Poop Jack Pappy on February 12, 2009 at 06:52 PM

Good long scrap. Both guys landed a few. Draw

Posted by moneybags on February 12, 2009 at 02:15 AM

brash still has it in him ,but i got to rate this a draw,,both got some good bombs in...and yes ,i agree with alesek that mcb is part of this sight to stir things up...no person could be that dumb!! i wanna believe the stupidity is being manufactured for effect, then it would make sense

Posted by MattyD2008 on February 18, 2009 at 12:12 PM

Draw, good fight from two of league's bigger guys, props to Orr for handling Brashear on the inside and not allowing Brash to get his arms extended.

Posted by kmd19 on February 12, 2009 at 04:46 PM

Great fight. Very even. Brash was more active with the rapid punches but it looked like Orr landed the more quality shots. I gave it a draw.

Posted by cashman rules on February 12, 2009 at 04:05 PM

Orr did well, better punches to the face instead of to the back of the head.Great fight between these two, solid draw but orr landed better.

Posted by Big_Goon on February 14, 2009 at 09:36 AM

Orr did a great job against Brashear who has owned him over the last few years. Good long fight by both guys, Draw.

Posted by FlyersDosage on February 12, 2009 at 09:33 AM

This was an easy DRAW to call here. Again, the key is to take the sound DOWN ALL THE WAY & watch the fight. Otherwise, every time Orr threw a punch you'd think he connected by the fans reaction. Both guys were tired as bung after this one. Fun to watch! Again, easy DRAW as both connected slightly but not effectively.

Posted by bloodyknuckles2 on February 12, 2009 at 05:07 AM

Not a lot landed from either side. Watched it from both fighters perspective and can't say that one landed more than the other. Little tired of seeing Bashes style of grab and rap the helmet. Draw.

Posted by brazos on February 12, 2009 at 02:00 PM

I thought this was an entertaining scrap. Brash was very active throughout the fight but a lot of his punches, especially in the later part of the fight didn't land on anything but the upper back and shoulder. Orr hung in there while being just as active and it looked like he landed a couple of good ones. Hate to give it to either. Draw

Posted by sporr on February 13, 2009 at 12:36 PM

Amazing how the homers vote. They must really hate Brashear. Clear draw or maybe slight edge to Brash but no way can you say Orr won. You New Yorkers are your own breed!

Posted by tattooedkingpin on February 12, 2009 at 01:07 PM

Cant decide. Gotta go with the Draw

Posted by burkcw61 on February 16, 2009 at 01:49 AM

Both guys got some good licks in.

Posted by 28richter16 on February 12, 2009 at 12:17 AM

Solid draw. Brash had most of the activity and punches thrown, but Orr landed a couple big ones of his own.

Posted by Tweeks on February 12, 2009 at 12:27 PM

They both took turns throwing some good punches. If they had landed any of those simultaneous bombs I think they both would have been laying on the ice seeing spots.

Posted by GSP09 on February 12, 2009 at 08:08 PM

Good fight Brashear with more shots and Orr with solid ones. draw.

Posted by ogie ogiltorpe on February 12, 2009 at 12:08 PM

Brashear was more active at the start and kept Orr on the defensive. Orr landed the more quality punches. Good fight and a draw, Orr will take the next one as he seems to be figuring Brashear out.

Posted by joaquin on February 12, 2009 at 05:34 AM

Brashear looked dominant again at the beginning but Orr came back towards the middle/end and surprised Brashear with a couple good ones. Great fight and a draw.

Posted by darkknight9 on February 12, 2009 at 04:47 AM

Best I've seen someone do against the concert pianist in a looooong time. Draw, with much kudos to Colton Orr.

Posted by brad houghton on February 12, 2009 at 07:28 AM

that was a fun fight to watch and Orr finally had a great fight with Brash who has owned him it seems like Orr might have had a bit of a smile on the way to the box....not cocky just a bit happy...i might be wrong about that i think this was very close fight on first viewing i thought Brash landed more and was going to give him an edge win but when i watched it a second time the first flurry from Brash was largely to the back and shoulder area so i would have to call this fight a draw..... Orr was right there and this was pretty even...not allot of the punches landed but a few got through from both guys

Posted by HerbRaglan on February 12, 2009 at 01:03 AM

Not a fan of either guy but that was the type of fight I used to see in the 80's, but rarely see anymore! Great fight, I thought it was a draw.

Posted by omorales on February 12, 2009 at 03:34 AM

Orr is a tough, gutsy man...no clear winner....draw

Posted by dcmac on February 12, 2009 at 08:29 PM

Draw from two of the best.

Posted by clmetsfan on February 12, 2009 at 12:03 PM

Really can't call a winner on this one. Brashear landed more, but they were mostly to the back of Orr's helmet. Orr seemed to get more clean face shots in. Draw.

Posted by Franchise on February 12, 2009 at 10:04 PM

After watching it 5 times, I cant see how either guy gets a win. Both with some good shots, I have to give this a draw.

Posted by basil73 on February 12, 2009 at 09:25 AM

Great fight between two legit beasts. I was at the Garden and from live look it seemed like an even bout. Definitely a step up for Orr for overcoming his slump against Brash. Draw and an 8.

Posted by digitalroc on February 11, 2009 at 09:53 PM

This fight was a draw, good punches from both guys.

Posted by CairnsNYI33 on February 12, 2009 at 05:02 PM

Great fight. Orr got 1 nice shot on Brashear, but Brash hardly flinched and came right back with a flurry that put Orr on his heels. DRAW.

Posted by firefightnchuck on February 16, 2009 at 04:45 PM

brashear is tough most likely the tougest but his time is running out he tires very soon after the fight starts look for orr or boulton to be number 1 soon after gerorge but nobody will fight him so he should just learn to play the game

Posted by BSTnougat on February 11, 2009 at 08:47 PM

This was just a great fight. I gave it a draw cuz both guys threw a lot and landed a lot. Wish every fight was this entertaining. Does Brashear amaze anyone else? He has been around forever and he just doesn't seem to lose anything, he can still throw with anyone. That is really impressive to be in this league for that long (doing that job). Has hands have got to be a mess.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on February 12, 2009 at 12:40 PM

good fight....draw

Posted by orland on February 12, 2009 at 06:40 AM

Great battle. Very even fight. The days of Brashear's domination of Orr are clearly over.Orr stood toe to toe and landed the best shot. Brashear still has tremendous endurance and his huggy bear style is still effective.

Posted by kingpaolo on February 13, 2009 at 08:41 PM

soo close... Brash throws more... Orr land heavier Draw I really like Orr.. wish he was an oiler

Posted by cbjacketfan on February 11, 2009 at 10:31 PM

Great fight and great job by the tv guys for not stepping all over the fight.

Posted by b.t.wilson on February 11, 2009 at 08:27 PM

hell of a fight, two monster fighters. going with a draw, and definitely not disappointed. rangers suck bruins suck etc etc mcbs, now you gotta come up with something new. draw and a 9.

Posted by kimocoyote on February 11, 2009 at 10:31 PM

Toss up. It was a plain old fashioned good hockey fight. Both missed and both connected with some solid punches.

Posted by scrapiron wins on February 22, 2009 at 02:56 PM

No pull downs. Very good fight.

Posted by Looch on February 12, 2009 at 03:20 AM

Great fight. didnt like how brash popped orr at the end when the refs were clearly coming in but good scrap! refreshing to see guys throwing bombs!

Posted by InTimidator on February 28, 2009 at 12:11 AM

A little sloppy, The Donald got a few good lefts in at the beginning. I'm not sure Orr connected with anything, but I'll give him a little credit for hanging in...

Posted by rowbearprobear on February 11, 2009 at 09:42 PM

i almost fell out of my chair i was so excited when i logged on and realized these two went tonight thanks for putting the fight on so quickly...made my night brash must have a hard skull because orr definitely landed the better punches but, all else equal, this one was a draw orr is still the most entertaining hw in the league bar none

Posted by ParrosFan16 on February 12, 2009 at 01:02 AM

Great fight, lots of punches and lot of punches landing.

Posted by schulzie on February 12, 2009 at 08:51 PM

Posted by Ian Lozada on February 12, 2009 at 07:44 PM

One of the very best fights I've seen in the league in the last few years. Lots of great punches, neither man giving in. The hockey equivalent of Hagler-Hearns Round 1.

Posted by jbaktai on February 13, 2009 at 08:42 PM

good heavy weight fight.

Posted by Hopper1976 on February 17, 2009 at 02:32 AM

Good fight. Good showing by Orr, but it's a draw.

Posted by decostamail on February 12, 2009 at 03:26 PM

watch it again boys. Orr punched the crap out of Donalds shoulder pads. He only landed 1 good punch and Brash wins with early scoring punches and more landed. Olympic boxing rules in play on this one.

Posted by legion31 on February 12, 2009 at 08:08 PM

look at all the fights bras vs orr.............orr is bras' favorite punching ball !!

Posted by mcb789 on February 11, 2009 at 10:05 PM

how can you homer bias ranger fans vote for orr with the win in this fight. brashear clearly outpunch the most overrated fighter in the nhl colton the punk orr. brashear with the easy win in this fight. RANGER HOMER FANS ALL SUCK!!! RANGERS SUCK!!! BRUINS SUCK!!!

Posted by idiotstupid2002 on February 13, 2009 at 10:16 AM

Close fight, gave the edge to Brashear.

Posted by staceyb on February 11, 2009 at 10:32 PM

Brashear on points. Punching Brash in the head is like hitting a cocoanut. Orr started the scrap because the Rangers have been so listless in their past five games. They finally eked out the win tonight in a shootout. Washington it seemed spent half the game in the penalty box. Ovechkin had 13 hits.

Posted by Towmater on February 11, 2009 at 10:38 PM

I know you sometimes have to take a few to throw a few, but Orr took a few too many.

Posted by habsfan82 on February 12, 2009 at 06:16 PM

I think alot of people hate on Brash.....I cant believe how many goons picked orr as the winner brashear CLEARLY CLEARLY CLEARLY Controlled this fight and landed more shots unbelievable how blind some of you must be

Posted by Strelec on February 12, 2009 at 12:06 PM

Donald Brashear won!

Posted by x77x on February 12, 2009 at 10:03 AM

orr was hitting air, 70% huggy, 30% Colton dont call me Bobby

Posted by T800m101 on June 01, 2009 at 06:59 PM

Brashear won this fight, watch it in slow-mo.

Posted by StanFischler Jr on February 12, 2009 at 12:58 PM

Donald with the edge in what not his best effort. If just one of his haymakers hit, Orr would have been in trouble. Orr however had his best showing thus far vs. Donald.

Posted by Juha82 on February 12, 2009 at 02:08 PM

edge Brashear

Posted by JABUSHFSU on February 12, 2009 at 03:36 PM

learn to count people. orr threw 5 punches the whole fight and miss three of them. now count the shots brasher threw and connected.

Posted by Enfrcr77 on February 14, 2009 at 02:28 PM

Orr got close in that one but not close egough... Brashear with the "W" Must be alot of rangers fans on here voting for their tiny dancer..

Posted by swirvin on February 12, 2009 at 10:57 PM

brash with the edge.

Posted by BROWN - KOCUR on February 13, 2009 at 10:42 PM

Brash gets the nod - lots of NY homers here eh

Posted by Maxwerm on February 13, 2009 at 05:24 PM

Orr didn't get his face caved in as he usually does/deserves to against Brash. Slight edge to DB. Rangers suck ***. My ***.

Posted by 5 4 Fighting on February 11, 2009 at 11:44 PM

Brash W.....behind the head counts...and its rather painful....

Posted by jco17325 on February 12, 2009 at 07:11 AM

Brash landed more punches and landed the better punches. Easy decision.

Posted by fattymcdaddy on February 12, 2009 at 04:01 PM

They stepped in too quick, should have let it go another minute or two. Looks like a lot of Orr's bombs hit Don's shoulder. Slight win to Brashear but decent scrap.

Posted by Ronnie82 on December 12, 2013 at 10:45 AM

Good tilt! Both were game in this bout but I felt Brashear was more aggressive and gets the razor close win on my scorecard.

Posted by Rob666 on February 11, 2009 at 11:15 PM

Brashear controlled the fight and landed more as Orr got in some good punches of his own.

Posted by MACMAN214 on February 12, 2009 at 02:56 PM

Brashier got a fight from Orr this time. Good fight ..but Brashier was the winner in a close bout.. I think Orr was smiling because he didn't end up on the ice this time.

Posted by mckendo83 on February 12, 2009 at 09:12 AM

I dont know how you give this to ORR, it was a very close fight but Brashear was the winner here.

Posted by Behn Wilson on February 12, 2009 at 12:01 AM

Brashears' left was just too much for Orr to handle. The same right that dropped Rupp the night before, just bounced off Brashears' noggin. Good scrap. Good energy. Edge Brash, he was never in trouble, but Im slowly coming around on Orr. He's still no ''Bieska'', LOL.

Posted by Brashearfan on February 12, 2009 at 09:47 AM

Yeah, I know my name is Brashearfan and didn't pick him because I'm a fan of his. The video speaks for itself. Orr did a great job, but I still give a slight edge to Brash. Maybe Orr will loss some of that "Brashear's personal punching bag" reputation.

Posted by OneilltheGiant on February 12, 2009 at 10:40 AM

The fight was a lot closer than their previous fights which Brashear seemed to dominate, but again in this fight Brashear ends up with the overall advantage. Brashear looked to land more punches in the fight and still seemed to be able to control the action better than Orr. Orr did mange to get in a few good right hands but Brashear still does enough for the win. Some real homers in here from the Rangers fans and Brashear haters. Add to that the racist remarks from some.

Posted by drop_the_gloves on February 12, 2009 at 07:40 AM

Brashear still owns Orr

Posted by cbeam87 on February 11, 2009 at 11:06 PM

Very close but brash with the win

Posted by Rebel Banker on February 11, 2009 at 08:54 PM

i know brash takes grief for his hugging but orr landed a few decent shots that didn't even phase brash which is saying a lot because orr can drop the hammer. WIN BRASH

Posted by PA232 on February 13, 2009 at 08:49 AM

Both landed some good blows. I'm saying Brashear in a close one. He seemed to be the one in control of the fight.

Posted by mpagano22 on February 12, 2009 at 08:13 AM

those of you who thought Orr won are high, I dont know what fight your were watching, but Brashear had the edge the entire fight. Ranger home boys

Posted by powerball on February 12, 2009 at 06:48 AM

brashier in a close one. orr WILL fight anyone.

Posted by Meaty2k on February 12, 2009 at 12:04 PM

Brashear landed alot more punch than Orr did. Very good showing by Orr but Brashear was the clear winner in this one

Posted by czakheim on February 12, 2009 at 10:03 AM

Orr was solid but Brashear landed a lot more punches. Brash with a slight victory. Dont get fooled by the noise in the background. Thats just Ranger fans oohing and aahing every time Orr threw a punch. Few landed.

Posted by tiburon4 on February 13, 2009 at 01:41 PM

Two bears fighting over the honey, but Brashear got more contact, win.

Posted by MajorGroove on February 12, 2009 at 03:08 PM

Great job by both! Good stamina, both kept throwing, no lame takedown, good stuff. Brashear takes the win. Orr did a good job but Brashear threw more and landed more. Orr just couldn't get anything going and Brashear countered all Orr had. Maybe if Orr just waits a few more years for Donald to get older and slower he might actually be able to pull out a win versus Brashear? Scored it an 8 overall.

Posted by tyler1 on February 12, 2009 at 05:40 AM

Orr hung in there with huge balls vrs the old man (who is still a badass)

Posted by giantsfrey on February 12, 2009 at 01:14 AM

great bout. very close, but i gave the edge to brashear

Posted by Kevin from Bost on February 26, 2009 at 10:19 AM

Brashear was like another day at the office, and for Orr this was a Big Deal fightiing Brashear,Im sure he talked about it after. The Old Brashear from 10 years ago even 5 years ago would have Whipped him like a Red Headed Step Child.Brashear is Old Now.Orr is Young,I think they both are Messy, not firing shots with abundance,I dont think anyone fights like Cam Neely or Terry O'Reilly did.

Posted by acdcrocksno1 on August 13, 2009 at 05:57 AM

How anyone can give this as a victory to either of them let alone orr is ridicoulous definitely a draw with slight advantage to Brashear

Posted by rangersFan72 on July 04, 2010 at 10:50 PM

Good fight. Gotta give a slight edge to Brash.

Posted by EDDUBBS on February 12, 2009 at 08:28 AM

Orr missed quite a bit and Brashear was more effective landing more shots that actually count. Win for Brashear.

Posted by Bruins29 on February 13, 2009 at 12:57 PM

Excellent fight between two of the best in the NHL. Brashear landed more punches though and kept Orr off balance enough so he couldn't land a bomb. I give the edge to Donald.

Posted by smasham on February 13, 2009 at 08:55 PM

Good fight very close but I gave the edge to Brash...

Posted by DARCY T on May 17, 2009 at 12:39 PM

orr landed some good punches too but brashear takes narrow win

Posted by scorp1on on February 11, 2009 at 11:58 PM

Awesome tilt. Almost al the hugging was tactical (not always the case for Brashear) and the fists from both were flying. Orr had some great punches that would have dropped a middleweight but Brashear seemed unfazed. I thought Brash was more active and dominant and so give him the win with the ever so slightest of edges. If he even had dropped the aggression for one second or tired out the way Orr did I would have scored it a draw.

Posted by Blackhawk23 on February 12, 2009 at 12:51 AM

Great stuff, gave it to Brash. Nothing better then seein two of the best go toe to toe

Posted by Jesticle on February 12, 2009 at 08:36 PM

Brashear won this. How many Rangers fans voted on this? All of them? Orr didn't land a thing. Canucks fan over here, wishing we had a heavyweight, not a middleweight who thinks he is.

Posted by woodape on February 12, 2009 at 03:00 AM

Brashear won. Great fight but Orr didn't get it done. Orr is getting closer to winning each time - those were some bombs being thrown but give credit to Brashear for continuing to go toe to toe with guys he has already beaten a bunch of times.

Posted by CMoney28 on February 12, 2009 at 06:59 PM

Why would u give this to orr. Brash landed much more

Posted by bigjcc526 on February 14, 2009 at 10:30 AM

I give it to Huggy bear,he was a little busier and landed more. it was a great hockey fight though.I rated it a 9,and very close

Posted by C. Alter on January 10, 2010 at 07:04 PM

This is a continuation of a long standing battle & dispute between these two. Not many of this kind left in the NHL.

Posted by SA_Town on February 12, 2009 at 12:10 PM

Orr started this fight to get the sorry Rangers riled up. They knew that they needed energy to beat a team that has owned them all year. Rangers Suck.

Posted by joe trainsheavy on February 12, 2009 at 12:45 AM

old man brash.. still got it in him you are not going to see fighters last as long as him... lot of big name fighters at his age went down hill... and being in the NHL that long and still taking on young fighters... who want to take his head off... to say i beat one of the best.... give brash the win he threw more... it was good fight for both...

Posted by cgrs09 on February 12, 2009 at 07:20 PM

Great scrap.. Not sure how Orr is getting so much love on this one but he did a nice job. Don't let the crowd sway you on this one, watch the fight without sound. Win for the "Donald".

Posted by MeLikeSemenko on February 13, 2009 at 02:01 PM

Brash was more active and controlled the fight, Orr had a couple good one punches but Brash is the definate winner.

Posted by Xeshybrid on February 11, 2009 at 11:56 PM

Good fight, but i give slight edge to Brashear, more landed punches.

Posted by brannonkevinm on February 12, 2009 at 04:28 AM

Tough fight, but more of Brash's punches landed than Orr's, and he certainly threw more.

Posted by tpr1960 on February 11, 2009 at 09:11 PM

Clear win Brashear , he kicks Orr's ass every time they fight . That's why we call Orr {Donald Brashears personal punching bag} . Rangers sinking faster than a rock .P.S. Lucky the refs stepped in , Brashear was still chuckin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by glaxko on February 11, 2009 at 09:17 PM

the fight was "tres bien". I have to give Brash a slight edge because it looked like he tried to block a shot, and he had a better technical game, but what a fight!

Posted by Taubi on February 12, 2009 at 07:01 AM

Edge > Brashear. 53: 47 for Brashear. orr landed more "hardest" punches? where are they? and btw. brash landed more. brash win.

Posted by Tomasson on February 12, 2009 at 08:50 AM

Nice fight!

Posted by TheKeg on February 13, 2009 at 08:38 AM

I really don't see how Orr could have won this fight, opting to come right in and grasp Brashear right away. You could see Orr's stamina in the fight lacking 30 seconds into the fight, when he starts to show big signs of wear. Brashear on the other hand, just kept trying to punch, where Orr did more grabbing. Still an excellent fight.

Posted by 71PensAllDay28 on February 16, 2009 at 08:54 PM

Brashear Tried but the punches here and there form Orr were perfect and on the button.

Posted by wsc03 on February 12, 2009 at 01:09 PM

Slight edge to Orr, landed more big shots. Orr seemed to tire at the end.

Sometimes I wonder if the infamous MCB789 person is in reality the person behind this internet page. Can't seem understand how is it possible that MCB789 is the first one to always place a comment. (Just something to think about) As far as the fight, I have gave up on Brashear's fights long time ago. He is one hell of a strong fighter, but his cautiousness makes him no longer dangerous or great. And that's ok. He is smart player that wants to stay healthy and keep on playing. Can't blame him... But to put him on pedestal for powerless rabbit punches to back of someone's helmet followed by lame take down won't score points in my book. Brashear used to be great, but his prime has passed. Orr is on his way up.

Posted by nycbob on February 12, 2009 at 08:25 AM

i just wish orr was 20 lbs + 3 inchs taller. He would own the league. He came close with a few bombs to doing real damage on brash. Probably a tie - but i always give it to the smaller guy.. If there is a god - orr will KO brashaer before he retires.

Posted by no123one on February 22, 2009 at 07:50 PM

The tough kid from Winnipeg beats the yankee pretty good. I like how the announcer says "Brashear is the bigger guy" when in fact, Orr is bigger and heavier.

Posted by KiddYidd on February 16, 2009 at 07:58 PM

Clear win by Orr. How anyone can dispute that I will never know! Suk it!

Posted by lovejoy on February 12, 2009 at 05:56 AM

Edge Orr. He landed more. Brash did only his typical hammering to the back side of head.

Posted by pitslam on February 11, 2009 at 09:32 PM

I give the win to Orr ,Brashs little flurrys are so old and are intended to keep him from getting hit in the hopes the other fighter loses his balance. This is his other tactic after the hugggy bear. Brashear has a great punch but is to scared of getting hit to use it. I guess that K.O. Simon did on him years ago has had a lasting effect. Nuggies only count when your pickin on your little brother P.S. Go Kings

Posted by Flyersfan71 on February 16, 2009 at 09:46 PM

Colton Orr is very impressive here as the more accurate fighter win Orr. I would love to see him in Black and Orange.

Posted by Cid on February 12, 2009 at 06:27 PM

Very close fight, but I have to give the slightest of edges to Mr. Colton Orr. He landed the cleaner shots and actually tried to punch Brash in the face.... whereas, as always Brash is just content hugging and throwing little rabbit punches to the back of the helmet. Becoming a trend for both Laraque and Brashear. Both fighters are clearly terrified of getting punched in the face or knocked out. And due to their unwillingness to trade real punches, I can't give them any points for skill.

Good ol fashion N166ER whopping.

Posted by blbjd on February 11, 2009 at 11:07 PM

clear win for Orr, he really outclassed and out-fought brashear. Orr really is a class enforcer and he taught the bully a lesson. way to go Orr!!!

Posted by pmarz1 on February 15, 2009 at 08:47 PM

How many pats to the back of the head did Donnieboy get off??? Too many to count. Not even close, Orr with the win. I am a bit surprised db didnt try to hug him more though.......

Posted by capsfloors on February 11, 2009 at 10:22 PM

Brash has owned Orr, but this fight was much better for Orr. I think Brash had more punches thrown (mostly missed and to the back of the head) , and Orr connected with some of the bigger punches in this one. Edge Orr, but I could see a draw here as well. tpr1960- you are just jealous that your team doesn't have a legit heavy, and he gets beat up by Orr everytime..."Rangers sinking faster than a rock"...don't you mean sinking faster than the Eagles? What are you guys 0-5 in Superbowls? The Bills fans laugh at you now!

Posted by Sukoshi84 on February 12, 2009 at 10:56 AM

Orr get's the Nod in this one, you dont give a winner cause he throws more and they're all noggie shots that dont do sh!t........ you assholes gotta put your homerism and bullsh!t hate aside and vote for what really went on.

Posted by mAnYsTyLeS on February 12, 2009 at 10:17 AM

Are you people kidding me? Seriously. Colton Orr has always had trouble with Brash and BGL but he by FAR won this fight. What draw and what win did you see for Brashear? Brash got ONE good punch in and the rest were little flurries. Check out the following bombs that Colton connected on....PLEASE...SERIOUSLY... 14 seconds 23 seconds 39 seconds 44 seconds I understand that some of you hate NY and the Rangers but this was an awesome fight and Colton has always had trouble with Brash (who doesn't) so you gotta give the guy a break. For anyone to do good against Brash and BGL is a huge accomplishment in my eyes. Plus, Colton is not that big. I always say he's not that big because it's true, I've seen him (or maybe I'm big) and for some reason they always have him listed as being taller and heavier than he REALLY is. Whatever though. Finally, when he smirks or laughs, it's NOT because he's cocky. That's the way he is. It's part of his personality and it has nothing to do with cockiness - he's actually one of the classiest players out there. When have you ever seen the man hit someone while they were down....never. When the refs came in, he stopped punching. Brashear on the other hand still tried throwing a couple like a punk. I am a Ranger and Colton Orr fan but I'm always fair and balanced. Goddard definitely got the best of Orr but Colton came back big against Rupp and Brashear. I'm definitely proud to have this guy on my team!

Posted by oilersfansylvan on February 16, 2009 at 10:11 PM

Woaaaaaaaaaa should be a goodie...... Well no major punches landed....I see this as a moral win for Colton, and a frustrating draw for Donald. So a draw.....na I loath Brash...W for Colton

Posted by probie83 on February 13, 2009 at 04:29 PM

Orr threw the better punches Brashear stuck with his usual back of the head left handed rabbit punches. Edge Orr

Posted by DMM on February 12, 2009 at 07:16 PM

Slight edge to Orr. For the most part he stayed outside and away from Brash usual hug fest and then toss lefts. Very close... Orr landed the better shots.

Posted by jcstokes on February 11, 2009 at 10:02 PM

Orr with the win. Sorry Brash fans, but hitting the back of the head and holding doesn't score points. Orr with a few goodies flush on Brashear's ugly mug. Again, Orr proves he's the most entertaining fighter in the league, this one will be a 7plus. Orr, like Bruce, proves it all night.

Posted by Hendo67 on February 13, 2009 at 11:33 PM

Pretty long fight, Orr is really proving that he's one of the top HW's right now.

Posted by Rabid Wombat on February 12, 2009 at 08:33 PM

most of brashears punches hit air or shoulder. orr lands the better shots igive him the clear cut victory. Although I don't really like the way he swung a backhand at the 43 second mark.

Posted by Goaltender on March 12, 2009 at 10:23 PM

Good fight...Brashear isn't what he used to be. Kind of a cheapshot punch as the linesmen were stepping in to break it up.

Posted by lbdoug on February 12, 2009 at 10:19 AM

Huggybear’s most exciting fight since the Domi era.. He just isn’t very fun to watch. When he’s not doing his usual romantic slow dance fight style, Brashear has this punching/fighting technique were it looks as if he’s trying to chop wood or maybe giving some kind of perverse scalp and shoulder message. I thought Orr had better quality (definitely more fun to watch Orr fight than Donald) and Brash the quantity. Didn’t it seem like Brashear was a little jerked off at the end and tried to get in an extra shot or two once the linesmen had stepped in?? Maybe I just hate Brashear…. Win Orr.

Posted by tleahey on February 16, 2009 at 10:30 PM

Pretty good scrum from two big guys...Orr has tremendous reach...he was actually picking popcorn from one of the fans in the stands while this fight was going on. I give the early edge to Brash...but, I think Orr landed some pretty good shots on Brashear...to emphasize it..how many times does Brashear throw everything but the bench at a guy in the fight...not so this time..I think Orr clipped him pretty good and got his attention and respect...Brashear is the king of the rabbit punch....should be penalized for such...he could really hurt someone with that cheap crap..

Posted by mvmuck on February 11, 2009 at 10:22 PM

ORR is the best fighter i dont care what any1 says. and brash can stop punching the back of peoples helmets and punch like a man.

Posted by kevylaw on February 12, 2009 at 03:02 AM

Brashear 3 years ago would have faired much better in this fight, and I'm a Ranger fan. Was a fair start, Orr finished much stronger and won this one. Unfortunately we are seeing Brashear in his later years hanging on for a paycheck. Orr's style is to swap bombs and Brashear chooses to play defense. Nod to Orr

Posted by vaughn2003 on February 14, 2009 at 03:35 PM

orr wins a close fights

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 09, 2013 at 12:56 AM

Brashear can really take a punch, or in this case several HARD punches. Good fight, winner Orr.

Posted by aj99ny on February 12, 2009 at 01:08 AM

Orr landed the better shots. Orr with his 1st win over Brashear close, good fight.

Great fight from two great fighters. Orr with the edge for landing the better punches.

Posted by Muscles on February 16, 2009 at 06:14 PM

Slight edge to Orr with the bigger punches.

Posted by slshbleed on February 12, 2009 at 08:24 AM

I think Orr landed more and the better of the shots. Brashear developed a style of fighting that is hard to fight against. He forces other fighters to fight his kind of fight. Orr was able to avoid the death hug. He was able to stand back and throw a little bit against Brashear. It helped that he went right the whole fight.

Posted by Lister100 on February 12, 2009 at 09:15 AM

Edge Orr Either Brashear was missing a gear or Orr has taken it up a notch. Impressive because Brashear couldn't overpower him. Good show.

Posted by laus3 on February 12, 2009 at 08:21 AM

Great fight. Orr finally got the edge on Brashear landing the cleanest blows! Gave it an 8...

Posted by reddo on February 12, 2009 at 08:28 AM

Colton Orr is a beast !!!

Posted by Gambino19 on February 12, 2009 at 02:55 AM

If only Orr could have landed some of those bombs! Nice fight.

Posted by Ripper20 on February 12, 2009 at 11:19 PM

Very good scrap. I think Brashear threw more punches, but the majority were to the back of the neck and shoulders of Orr. Orr scored more quality punches, so I give the slight edge to Orr. Nice to see Colton didn't give Donald the chance to turn this into a sleeper of a hugfest.

Posted by boxerlavean5 on February 13, 2009 at 12:03 AM

that was a good fight. Orr just barely got enough to win it.

Posted by mrunohoo on February 12, 2009 at 01:57 PM

Posted by JDForCommish on February 11, 2009 at 11:33 PM

Great fight, just proves Orr keeps geting better as Brash is the best in the business and this is the best he's done against him by far. Orr definitely landed the best punches in the fight with Brash just throwing little punches with no power behind them to the back of Orr's head. If he threw them with some force maybe i can say draw but the little bruised eye Brash had after the fight shows he caught a few. Not many guys laugh at Brash after a fight, Orr felt good after that one.

Posted by kingpintoo on February 16, 2009 at 09:57 PM

almost a draw, but Orr had better shots and don had more panzie wacks.

Posted by skovaleski on February 12, 2009 at 12:35 PM

I was there and was explaining to a friend I brought to the game, how Orr and Brashear were going to fight, if not immediately, and no sooner did they drop the gloves. Orr landed solid punches, and did with a grin on his face the entire time. If it was anyone other than Brashear, it may have been another Fedoruk incident. Brashear swung like the madman he is, connecting on Orr's helmet, shoulder pads, and air...got a couple good shots in but nothing compared to Orr. NO way Orr was going to lose this one...he had a nice warmup on MOnday by clocking Rupp into lala land. He made a statement this week...hopefully it will spark the team. Orr - Winner.

Posted by BozzMan on February 11, 2009 at 11:31 PM

Good fight, I gave a slight edge to Orr for landing the stronger punches.

Posted by CAPSFORLIFE on February 12, 2009 at 01:15 PM

my name says it all who I root for but sad to say this one clearly was Orr's shining moment. Brash hit his shoulder pads while Orr connected on cuple of good ones. The best one was the uppercut that landed on Brash's cheek. Good fight but gotta give it to Orr this time.

Posted by NYRangers30 on February 12, 2009 at 05:58 PM

orr landed the first punch solid good scrap

Posted by bradyj4 on April 15, 2009 at 04:28 PM

Good scrap. Brashear threw more punches but looks like Orr threw harder shots. Close one!

Posted by alsport on February 17, 2009 at 01:50 AM

Posted by hockeyfighter44 on February 12, 2009 at 04:17 PM

Big win for orr, sorry brashear. No points for helmetblows.

Posted by LetsGoNYR on February 12, 2009 at 07:16 PM

Good close fight. I'm always entertained by Brashear's little dance to start things off. Orr threw the more quality punches as opposed to the multiple noogies by Brash.

Posted by truitt on February 12, 2009 at 06:43 PM

Orr had the bigger punches, Brash threw more but did no damage. Orr wins b/c of the hard clean shots to Brash's face.

Orr's best fight against Brashear. Landed the better punches and gets a very close decision.

Posted by J.R. Abel on February 15, 2009 at 04:59 PM

Really close fight and a pretty good one. I gave a VERY slight edge to Orr mostly because he landed the better shots. Also because I freaking hate Brashear. But loads of respect to both of these guys. Hopefully we see a rematch soon.

Posted by coachsoupy on February 11, 2009 at 10:47 PM

orr landed the better shots. brash landed more

Posted by skierleeub on February 12, 2009 at 09:07 AM

Great scrap from two of the best heavyweights in the game. Brashear landed more, Orr landed the bigger shots. Tough one to call.

Posted by wildfan4eva on February 12, 2009 at 09:24 AM

Orr get's the win in my book, Brashear did a great job though. I just can't stand his stupid pull and punch on the back of the head, it is so boring to watch and frustrating!

Posted by SirYohans on February 11, 2009 at 10:17 PM

Brash noogies him to death. Orr lets 'em have his fun. Then Orr catches 'em with some beauties right in that ugly face. Edge Orr on doing the only damage.

Posted by blackgoldfan on February 12, 2009 at 06:34 PM

orr gets a w but this could be a draw i suppose but orr got more dirrect hits than brash. looks like orr decided some defence against brash would be a good idea and it pays off.

Posted by ilovenyr on February 11, 2009 at 10:15 PM

I think Brashear definately landed more punches, but Orr landed harder ones.

Posted by hockeyfan87 on February 12, 2009 at 02:16 AM

good scrap, slight edge to orr. Orr landed less but they seemed like much more solid shots. Brashear just swings and hopes to get lucky.

Posted by rangersofsweden on February 12, 2009 at 07:29 AM

Orr had more punches so i say Orrsy the winner but a very close fight.

Posted by AaronScott on February 11, 2009 at 10:10 PM

B's fan here....Colton Orr gets the node for sure...he usually has trouble with Brash but he won this one. Orr landed some great shots that certainly phased Brash. Brash threw more but most missed. Great fight! Wish more were like this one.

Posted by fl1ppedturtle on February 12, 2009 at 12:40 PM

MCB I can't stand the rangers but I would take Orr on my team any day. You’re a tool for disliking a single player for playing on a team you don't like. This board is for real fight fans you take away from this board with your idiotic comments go away.

Posted by bradass81 on February 11, 2009 at 11:04 PM

brasher threw more slaps than anything most of his punches. He landed a couple decent ones. Orr landed the better shots. Draw

Posted by M1llerlite10 on February 15, 2009 at 05:27 PM

Colton Orr!

Posted by BigJtheCanuck on February 11, 2009 at 09:57 PM

Colton Orr landed some great shots, Brashear had more thrown but either didn't connect or just hit the helmet. Brashear had a little pink eye at the end of that.

Posted by stich on February 12, 2009 at 01:49 PM

A close fight but Orr landed the better shots. Brashear is obviously a great fighter but he like Laraque has not been very active this year. On the other hand Colton has been a very busy fighter winning most of the bouts and helping his team win games, that is why he is the #1 heavy in the league right now and Godard #2

Posted by blueshirtfan15 on February 13, 2009 at 09:43 PM

it started as a hug fest but developed into a slug fest..... some real shots thrown winner Orr

Posted by Snot-Bubbler on February 12, 2009 at 08:51 AM

Brashear has edge in power, experience, and arm length. Yet Orr is more than even in this bout. Edge Orr. I love Brash, but when was the last time he has knocked someone out?

Posted by orrfan28 on April 03, 2009 at 08:10 PM

orr knocked brashear out! =)

Posted by Oil Can Henry on February 11, 2009 at 10:01 PM

Orr looked out-classed and amateurish in this one - just, throwing blindly, hoping something would land. Brashear's a pro and it shows - not pretty but a clear win.

no clear winner here, but I'll give it to brashear because he's down a couple percentage points in a fight that should be a draw.

Posted by mmysmokie on February 27, 2009 at 09:11 PM

imo they both had the same expression at the end, they both got some shots, which didnt phase the other, and they both stood in there. has to be a draw.

great fight ...allday 8...orrs best showing 2 date vs brash...as much as i like orr...brash won this fight...he landed way more.. a lot were solid...orr hit him with some bombs...but brash took it & fired & landed more

Posted by bigdog2007 on February 12, 2009 at 06:24 PM

Had to give it to HuggyBear Brashear. He seemed more active. Very Close. Props to Orr..if he had connected with a right hand huggy would have gone nightie night

Posted by JoMilla on February 19, 2009 at 12:38 AM

Good Fight. Edge Brashear.

Posted by gmr133 on February 12, 2009 at 11:39 AM

Slight edge Orr. Orr is getting better, despite giving up size to most of the heavyweights he fights. Brashear is getting older but can still throw 'em when he's not too busy hugging. As for Brashear having Orr's number in all of their earlier fights--not really. Fight 1 Orr was at the end of a shift and clearly gassed. #2 and 3 there was no real fight. Only in Fight 5 did Brashear clearly win.

Posted by claire alexande on February 12, 2009 at 06:41 PM

orr seemed to want to go for it more and landed a few better punches. plus brashear is ugly. and, yes, i've told him that to his face.

Posted by NHO3713 on February 12, 2009 at 04:53 PM

im sick of brash''s fighting, all he does is hug the other guy close to him and hit him in the back of the head with the left fist. i cant stand it anymore, typical brashear fight, win goees to ORR

Posted by GaryW on February 12, 2009 at 10:59 AM

Recorded the game last night in HD. Watched it several times frame by frame. Brashear punched more but they weren't landing except on Orr's back and pads. Only 5 solid shots landed ... 4 by Orr and 1 by Brashear. Big win for Orr.

Posted by azjim on February 12, 2009 at 04:21 AM

Orr landed more and harder punches, and gets the win.

Posted by mrsnake on February 19, 2009 at 08:40 PM

WOW! Great fight. What a surprise to see the overrated Brashear actually step up and take on a real heavyweight. Brashear throws lots of quick punches but Orr lands the more haymakers. Gotta give the win to Orr.

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on October 22, 2010 at 12:48 AM

Brash's punches were meaningless. Orr with the clear win, he was the only one who landed any damaging punches. Changed my vote after seeing this fight again.

edge Orr

Posted by rocky7482 on February 14, 2009 at 09:27 AM

well, i was going to call it a draw until brash threw that silly cheap shot at the end when orr was wrapped up by the zebra....win orr!

Win for Orr. Nothing but ineffective love taps from Brashear

Posted by tim daddy on February 12, 2009 at 09:57 AM

not a fan of either team, but for all the punches brashear throws only one seems to connect to the face, on the other hand orr drops at least three bombs,

Posted by Rangers4thecup on February 12, 2009 at 02:44 PM

This was a good fight, but judging by the severity, accuracy, and number of punches... Orr gets a clear win.

Posted by dirk lance on April 09, 2010 at 02:02 AM

had orr known that brashear would injure betts, and eventually take orr's job away, he probably wouldve smacked the monkey around a little better. Good close bout with a slight edge to orr for landing some heavier ones.
