bgl in a cakewalk. George laraque is the best fighter in the nhl still .the boogeyman cant beat either one and i'm a wild fan.
Edge Brashear. It doesn't matter how you're doing in the early going. It matters who finishes it. BGL let Brash back in the battle. Surprising that it wasn't a hug-fest.
pretty good fight from two of the leagues best. very tough to call. Laraque definetly kicked his ass early, and maybe was off balance at the end. but brash did throw a big punch and gets the takedown. have to call it a draw....
Strong finish for Brash but George dominated the majority of the fight. Not too bad for BGL considering he just got over a groin injury. Winner Laraque and still the man.
I don't know how you give laraque the win, he was WINNING until he got DROPPED!!! he was DROPPED! by brashear NEW UNDISPUTED CHAMP. It wasnt nothing but helmet look at the SECOND slow mo punch in the replay
Win Laraque.
Laraque outslugged Brashear 12-2. Knocked him down 3 times to 1. If the refs wouldn't have jumped in, he would have been back on his feet like at the end like Brashear did. Nice 2 punches at the end by Brash to keep from getting destroyed though. Win Laraque.
Huggy bear Brashear hit nothing but helmet , lucky Larague lost his balance.
Georges beaten him!!!Nice scrap.Too bad Brash lost beginning it could be more exciting!
Interesting that Laraque held up on a surefire noggin knocker.... Good comeback by Brashear but Laraque gets the win here easily.
Best fight of the year so far. Both throw some big hits. And they both go down by a big hit from another. This was really good!!!
I wanted to say:poor Brash, but now I say great fight..
Finally an actual fight in the NHL
Now that was an exciting draw. At first I thought Laraque was just gonna continue to pummle Brashear. But then WAM, Donald drops Georges on his back. But because of the shots Laraque threw earlier in the fight, this one is most definitely a draw.
Laraque wins the Mr. Nice guy award here. He should have pounded Brashear a bit more before Donald had the chance to get back up. Good to see both of these guys trading punches.
I'm giving this one a draw. Laraque definitely owned the fight early on, but Brash had some explosive energy in the end, not to mention might be the first fighter to actually knock Laraque down the way he did. Very impressive fight.
It was very close but they went punch for punch with each other
Brash dropped him with one punch. Win Brashear
Laraque early, in a big way. Brashear, with cement in his head hanging on to finish big. The result of those lefts Brash threw, although not landing flush were still enough of an equalizer; he was loose and BGL became vulnerable - Draw.
Laraque first half, Brashear second half. I thinks Brashear landed more of push than a punch for the knock-down. Wish the refs had let them get back up. I hate calling draws, but that is how I see it.
Edge Laraque. Laraque was throwing all the punches in the beginning, only connecting or grazing Brashear with a few of those punches. Brashear threw two at the end that knocked Laraque down, so that kind of made up for some of the punches that Laraque landed in the beginning.
Laraque wins the early half of the fight. + Brarshear wins the second half = Very entertaining draw. Well done, fellas.
WOW, got to call that a draw, both guys had some monster hits, especially Brashear at the end. Great Fight, props to Brashear for not staying down.
I don't know how to score this anything but a draw. Great fight, BGL dominated early, and Brashear finished with a left and the KD. Great fight, BGL, got in more punches, but Brashear got the KD punch.
Wow...this was a good one; hard to call a winner. Both got some good shots in, although Laraque clearly had the upper hand in the beginning of the fight.
Calling it a draw. However I can't stand Laraque who always grabs his opponent and pulls them to the ice. He needs to actually fight like in this bout and then maybe he will gain my respect.
I was lucky enough to actually be at this game and see this fight. If you would have been there you woulda given the edge to Brasher. The place erupted when he knocked Laraque down. Great stuff.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU LET SOMEONE BACK INTO A FIGHT , LAROQUE WAS PUMMELING BRASHEAR,SHOWED SOME CLASS BY NOT PUNCHING BRASHEAR WHEN HE WAS DOWN ,LET HIM UP,AND THEN GOT TAGGED,STILL IN MY EYES THAT 1 PUNCH ONLY GETS BRASHEAR A DRAW.
Laraque definitely had the early advantage but Brash came back great at the end. I was at the game and both fights were great. Even as a die hard Caps fan i have the utmost respect for Laraque and for the Pens fans turning out in such a large number. Great hockey night in DC last Saturday!
BGL shouldn't have let up. Linesmen should have came in earlier when it appeared they were going to do such.
GOOD FIGHT LARAQUE WAS WINNING BUT BRASH CAME BACK I SAY DRAW
Wow. I called that a draw. A great fight, Laraque winning the first part and Brash coming back real strong telling me that Laraque didn't do that much damage with his punches, enough to knock Donny off balance and he comes back with 2 wicked left bombs which floored big George. Hard to pick it either way so a draw it is.
Win Laraque. The last punch was a punch to the helmet to an off-balanced Laraque.
Big George hammered him early, let him up, and then let Brashear hit him, Brashear is a chicken &^%$. Im surprized he even looked at big George.
Easy win Laraque...only punch Brashear landed was to the helment.
Laraque wins. Don't get fooled by the hail mary punch by Brashear. Big George wasn't hurt, just surprised. Most of the fight was a beat down.
BGL dominates then gets dropped by Brashear....in boxing the win would go to Brashear but have to call this one a draw
BGL just lost his balance, that wasn't a KO at all...win BGL
Brashear was expecting a hug instead he was man-handled.
and also, Laraque had about 8 punches equal to Brashears last punch.
Not a quality fight, but a good one without doubt. Laraque controlled most of the bout, but in the end Brashear got him down, but by pushing move. A narrow win to Laraque.
not much spark, good matchup, although Brash is past his prime but still a beast, gotta give it to Georges.
Laraque with the edge. He did enough damage early to warrant a win but never should have let up. Beat your opponent when they're down and let the lady linesmen sort it out. Sure, Brashear came back but not enough to sway me.
Edge: Laraque. Brashear punched all helmet, and Georges lost his balance.
Why aren't the refs in there when Brashear is down?... Laraque lets up (the "code," I guess) and Brashear gets up and lands two glancing blows to Laraque's helmet. Other than that, it was domination. I don't see how anyone could vote for Brash here. On another note, the whole "code" about not swinging while a guy is down seems to be a pretty recent phenomenon. Check out some of the old fights/brawls on youtube from the 70's and 80's... those guys would pound you until the refs pulled you away.
Laraque is still the champ, good job by brashear to stand up to BGL!
tough one to call but i would say BGL since they both scored a KD but BGL landed more shots.....Brash fought back...this was a great fight for two guys that usually don't open up like this.....good on you boys
Laraque wins, but Brasher made a nice comeback
Laraque was the clear winner landing 13 straight lefts and knocking down Brashear 3 times in the process. Brashear threw 3 punches throughout the fight with two landing , one of which connected with Laraque's helmet and the other that sent Laraque and Brashear to the ice. Laraque quickly returned to his feet but the refs jumped in, End of fight. 3 take downs to 1, Georges is the undisputed heavy weight champion of the NHL.
I give this one too Laraque but a strongh finish for Brash
Georges got in some nice punches, but Brashear threw the biggest, i still say laraque was the winner though.
Finally get to see Laraque stand back and throw. Normally he clutches and grabs and throws his opponent to the ice. Hear he dominates Brashear,
Laraque won this first battle of '07-'08 season but not by much. His left hooks kept Brashear on the ground for most of the fight. But out of nowhere Brashear frees his left arm and hits Lasaque with two hooks. In my opinion, it looked like it was more of a push that dropped Laraque not the punch that hit his helmet. Nevertheless, good fight and there will be more to come from these two heavy hands.
Laraque won this one hands down, and was classy enough to let Brashear return to his feet a couple times before beating him back down. Brashear's knockdown shot bounced off of Laraque's lid, not a lot of damage to be done there.
Laraque could have really punished Brashear, but let up. He still gets the win in my column.
BGL takes it to Brash the whole fight even letting Brash get back up twice....Both of Brashes puches caught helmet.. Win BGL
laraque pounded him for the most part but brashear landed one good one that sent laraque flying so that has to count for something
This wasn't even close.......Brashear hit him twice........unfortunately that doesn't make up for taking double digit punches to the back of the head and getting completely manhandled. Edge: Laraque.
Laraque completely dominated Brashear for the first 90% of the fight and even let up on Brashear. The haymaker by Brashear that knocked Laraque down at the end looked much worse than it really was. Slow motion reply shows clearly that Brashear's haymaker hit Laraque's helmut and did no damage to Laraque. In fact, Laraque was ready to keep going after he fell, but the zebras intervened at that point. Laraque landed at least 6 punches to maybe 1 for Brashear. Clear win for Laraque.
No McSorely, but Laraque did a nice lid removal and spanking. Brashear's counter was 2 smacks to a helment. Laraque all the way.
brashear hit him two times n BGL was off balance and they went down...BGL with the WIN
Tough to call. Laroque dominated early, but Brashear got up and put Laroque down. Slight edge to Laroque. Very interesting fight.
Laraque dominated this fight from the get-go......Letting Brash up twice was a nice move......Brash's punches only connected with BGL's helmet......Better luck next time Brash!!
tough one to call edge to Laraque
Watch the slow motion. Both of Brashear's punches hit helmet, Laraque gets the dub here.
Good start for Laraque. Brashear came on at the end.
Laraque hit Brashear with some bombs in the beginning and when Brash went down he backed off and let him get up. Mistake by Goerges. Still give it ti Laraque. Great fight by both huge men.
pretty good fight from two heavyweights.i'd say laraque in this one
probably the best fight year to date from two of the best fighting veterans
Clear win Big George. Breashear got ragdolled. Big G should have pummeled Brashear through the ice but he is too much of a class act. He will learn something from this fight and not let people get back up. Brashear's last punch was clearly to the helmet. I give Brashear credit for getting back up but this fight was not even close.
Laraque all the way. The Brashear punch that knocked BGL down landed with a good deal of force on Laraques helmet. Never hurt Laraque. That fiight was 7/8ths BGL handing Brashear his butt, then, after BGL not clocking him when he was vulnerable, Brashier landed that left to Geroges helmet. Laraque all the way and one of Brashear's most one sided losses.
Easy win for BGL. he toyed with him and let him get back up at least twice. he could have absolutely pummelled him had he wanted to. Brash got owned there.
Laraque controlled the fight and let Brashear up and let two bombs go and sent Laraque down
whoever thinks brashear won that fight is blind or a dumb homer 9 punches by laraque that landed 1 by brashear, laroque would have rolled back up like brashear did twice after getting knocked down and really beat the crap out of brashear
Laraque won hands down. The only reason Brashear even was able to lthrow any punches late is because Laraque was classy and let him back up. Georges could have put him in the hospital early on if he wanted too. He was nice and didn't punch Brashear at all when he went to his knees.
not even close, Laroque being a classy fighter lets up on him when he has him at his mercy. Not sure which fight the people who voted for Brashear were watching
Laraque by far won the fight, he actually had to help brashear save face, brashear has always been a crap fighter, Laraque is a class act. Heavyweight champ by far.
Hay maker my ass it was a direct helmet punch video does not lie now question remains what 25 some percent could even give Brashear the win destroyed from the word go now one knows why he avoided Laraque at all cost
George Laraque is a clear winner IMO except those last two punches he took but he look like Brashear was done when he fell first
Georges got all quality punches dominated 98% of the fight Brashear at the end got two weak punches one connecting to the helmet knocking laraque sideways and a for arm punch almost like a tackle did no damage i give it to laraque
Big win for Laraque. This is what would happen to Brashear every night if he didn't try to hug his opponents to death.
Bgl completely dominated the entire fight until Brash got 2 shots in. Overall fight was somewhere in the range of 10/13-2 punches and 3-1 knockdowns. Real good fight but I give the win to Bgl.
It should be mandatory that helmets come off with the gloves. Brashears left hand has to be broken after throwing hard enough to put a man that size down connecting with plastic. Ouch!
George and Brashear are still the top two fighters. Win for George but Brashear is still the most intimidating player in Hockey. George is the Heavyweight champ !
Laraque dominated the fight from the onset and looked like he more or less lost his balance at the end, all in all a very good fight.
Two true heavyweights going toe to toe! Can't wait for the rematch. Nice comeback for Brashie but the Rock took this one.
GLR IS STILL THE BEST!! I'M GLAD SOMEONE FINALLY SMACKED BRASHEAR AROUND. BRASHEAR'S PUNCHES WERE GOOD BUT THEY WERE ALL HELMET AND OFF BALANCE BY GLR. GLR HAS THE BEST BALANCE OF ALL FIGHTERS.
Easy victory for Laraque... Brashear was never in this fight, although he did land a luck helmet punch, that knocked Larauqe off balance at the end... But no question about it... Victory and a decisive one for Laraque!
great fight but i have to give the win to laraque for pommeling brashear
win BGL
brashear new he could not have won so he just tackled him to the ice!
I will be honest in saying that Laraque picked Brashier up off the ice one too many times, and that after the third time being pucked up Brashear finally landed something, but one lucky punch after being knockec down and picked up three times does not a winner make. This fight goes to Laraque.
great fight. wished it was longer, brash started to turn the tide at the end, but the refs broke it up too quickly. winner: Laraque.
Laraque definitely threw & landed more punches. He almost KO'd Brashear at least twice too. You have to give it to Brashear though, He did come back at the end to make it look like a closer fight than what it really was.
I give the decision to Laraque because he was destroying Brashear and even let him up a couple times, until Brashear was able to get him down with a punch or two on the helmet.
Easy win BGL. I don't know how you can get your assed kicked for an entire fight and then throw two punches off the helmet and get the win or call it a draw?? If the only factor that determines the winner is who hits the ice first, then why the hell do we vote? If the idea is to hit each other the most (like boxing) and then factor in the end (yes a guy can lose the entire fight and knock someone with down one punch and still be the winner - they call it a knockout) then how does this fight not go to Georges? Brashear landed two punches the entire time (and they were to the helmet) and his momentum (and that BGL can't skate) causes a takedown - not even close to a KO.
a real fight! No dancing. just punching! If it went longer ot would have been a draw
Announcer is stoned...Brashear got his ass handed to him. He elbows Laraque down, that was no haymaker
Thx for the slow mo. Shows that bra didn t land a punch.
despite the TV guys yap ....most of BRASHEAR'S hits were to the helmet
that was more of a shove to me by brasier
.good fight
What fight were you guys watching, Big George Dominated this one. I think Brashear hit an off balance george at the end but george spun over to the top when he fell and there was no doubt that George whupped him on this one. Brashear could never really get started. Laraque is a beast.
Brashear comes on at the end, but Laraque still gets the decision.
Laraque had Brashear very quickly and you could tell he didn't want to inflict anymore humiliation on the big man when Donald came back up. You could tell that he didn't want to chuck anymore "big" ones until he was surprised by the 2 he took that dropped him, and then he was ready again when it was being broke up. CAN'T WAIT FOR ROUND 2!!
Great fight. Laraque won hands done, he lost his balance at the end. if you look closely Brashear only grazed his helmet with the last punch.
Good fight. Laraque showed his class by letting Brashear get back up in the early stages. Brashear showed he no quiter by getting the late knock down. Slight edge to Laraque.
laraque kicked his ass, he was off balance at the end, that punch didnt knock him down
its good to see georges back and whooping ass. not only as a fighter, but he played very well in the pens first couple games. there were some cheap shots the other night against carolina and it is nice that our enforcer is back and ryan malone doesnt have to drop the gloves anymore!
Brasher was let up twice. when he fell big G didnt touch him.
brashear kept it from a salughter, with a couple of punchs to the helmet, after GL kicked the crap out of him
The Rock still rules, even against stiff competition like Brash
BGL won easily. Terrible commentating as in slow mo, BLG connected clean with 9 unanswered shots with 4 to a helmetless head. Brash got in 2 at the end that hit all helmet more of a push. problem with Laraque is that he is too clean and fair. He never hit after a guy is down and inthis fight actually waited for Brashear to get back up. I guess u have to respect that but he should of been meaner and go full tilt .
Laraque buckles Brashear 3 times to Donald's 1. Laraque gets the decision based on that alone. I'm surprised the linesmen didn't break it up when Laraque was wailing on a stunned and down Brashear.
Props to Brashear for not giving up. He showed an incredible ability to absorb punches from the best in the League right now. It goes to Georges, but Donald stayed with him all the way...
Great fight, but rock landed more. He gets the w
Laraque wins but what a punch by brashear!
The commentators overreacted to the two Brashear landed. Laraque COMPLETELY dominated him and, unlike brashear was able to keep him up while he was punching.
brash got his ass kicked laraque was off balance he hit all helmet, i don't know to many people that get knocked down from a punch to the helmet, he had to be off balance
laraque wins, but brashear got a sick right in for the takedown.
wow what a fight!!!!!! laraque had him the whole way til brashear with that awsome punch... i dunnooooo?? i pick LARAQUE?
A bout of heavyweights that is always fun to watch, but the early phase went to Georges in my opinion with Brasiers having to come back; Laramie gets the edge in my book
Laraque dominated until the last punch to the helmet which still is a credit to Brashear. It is quite an accomplishment to come back after getting beat down twice. On the other hand, it's still a big win for the champ.
damn, that was awesome to see someone beat on Donald Brashear, but he came back big. give him credit, he's tough. got to give it to The Don Man by TKO.
Laraque is the winner. Brashear's punch was a light punch to the helmet, then he threw another punch that missed and the force of his forearm knocked Big George down. However, I must say that it surprised me that Georges got off balance like that. That's not like him. For Capitals fans, this will be a Brash win.
Brashear shows his Flyer background and gets his butt kicked ...
Brashear got the KD at the end of the fight but Laraque clearly beat him...he let up because he has respect for Brash but he could've put him down for good if he'd wanted to. Great scrap fellas
Great fight between two great fighter. Close to draw, but Laraque wins. Laraque is true gentlemen and give Brashear second change with helping with up and Brashear use it well. But points to Laraque with great and gentlemen fight. Nice fight, i like both of these guys.
BGL, BGL, BGL.....not only tough but a class act. Are you people telling me if given the same situation Brash doesn't fracture BGL's facial bones? Sorry, class still wins in the end and although BGL will learn from this bout, he did the right thing, albeit, he paid the price to be an enforcer for a living.....man if I was that BGL (big) and could skate I would own Godard, Boogard (the behemoth that he is), Parros (Johnny Holmes look-a-like), etc.......different fighting league folks........admit it........
Laraque let Brash get up twice. He absolutely killed him. Brash took him down at the end, but only after Georges let him get up twice.
I definetly give this one to the Laraque because of the beat down he gave Brash for 25 seconds of a 30 second fight. Brash is lucky Laraque didnt keep beating his ass why he was down which he could of. So what if Brashear hit him twice and knocked him down, Laraque still owned him 3 takedowns too 1. I dont know why anyone would even give that fight to Brash when he clearly lost. Still Heavyweight champ of the NHL.....GEEEEOOOOOORGE LAAAAAARAQUE!!
Brashear clearly hits Laraques helmet with those two punches. I'm not a fan of either one. I think Laraque smoked em.
Laraque is the king. Good come back from Brash. I give Laraque the win.
bgl way better and brash is not even close
all Laraque until two good shots by brashear at end.
Brashear proves, you gotta take a couple to give a couple, is true. Showing yet again, why he's one of the best, since Probert.
Boring fight, the middle weights do better. To bad Joey Kocur wasn't there, he SMOKED them both before.
boring, boring, boring
2 KDs (of sorts) for Laraque 1 KD (of sorts) for Brashear. Voted it a draw but was close to going with a win for Laraque.
Brashear's finish wasnt enough to make up for Laraque's early dominance. I think Donald's lights might have gone off for a brief moment.
Laraque did well early but couldn't finish it. Brashear finished Laraque. KO Brashear.
Laraque got off to a great start and even brought Brash to his knee once or twice, but the crushing blow Brash threw on him at the end seals the deal for me. Laraque was done after that punch.
Laraque early, Brashear late.
Brashear takes it, how can you say Laraque won....he went down when he got hit, Brashear had brass ones in this fight I hate both fighters but liked the fight
Brashears wins in an upset
A truly good heavyweight bout. Laraque definitely got the better in the early going--as he kept Brashear off-balance. But the force of Brashear's punches were definitely much more powerful than Laraque's--and resulted in a TKO!
To me two bunches to the helmet don't count. Laraque all the way in this fight.
Laraque won 4 to 1
Big Georges is a heck of an opponent with his size and his ability to throw those nasty southpaw fwappers....I think Brash did well to keep coming after taking quality shots. Laraque did an excellent job of getting his feet under him and keeping his balance threw most of that fight. I think that is one of his attributes that is underestimated...great balance even when throwing hard punches.
I can''t believe some people actually think Brashear won that fight. 2 punches to the helmet before Laraque slipped backwards doesn''t constitute a win. BGL put a good ol'' fashioned butt whoopin on Donnie boy. I have respect for Brashear and a lot of other fighters, but Laraque is hands down the baddest dude in the NHL.
Laraque won that hands down he just lost his balance at the end Brashear hit him in the helmet, probly didnt do much damage
different styles of fighting and i gota say almost a draw but my man lararque is just to quick for brash and it shows but gota give him some credit on trying to get back into to the fight with a knockdown to the knee
BGL pummeled Brashear throughout, let him up not once but twice, then took a shot that hit him in the HELMET and knocked him off BALANCE. BGL dominated, Fighter of the Year again!
i don't like laraque but i have 2 give this one 2 him, nice finishing punch by brasher but laraque dominated this 90% of this fight. great fight though and what a match up. the only better match up than this would be brasher and chara
Like boxing, the early rounds don't matter. Only the last round. Brashear took the last round= winner.
a couple newggies from Laroque and then BAMM Brashear knocks him down to the ive!!
Must be a bunch of Pens fans in here voting. Just because Laraque got the first and most licks in doesnt make him a resounding winner. That haymaker Brashear threw at the end looks like it left little blue birds flying around Laraques head like in the old cartoons. you Pens fans need to quit being homers and vote realistically on these fights.
Brashear came back and nailed him with a haymacker
I thought Laraque could take a punch? Brashear gets caught with some good shots and comes back. Laraque gets hit with only one solid shot and goes down quickly. Brashear gets the win with a solid shot and the takedown.
Nice comeback win by Brash
Win Brash, but BGL is still the champ. BGL shouldn't have let up, dumb move on his part.
It's hilarious how all the Laraque fanboys can't accept the fact that he lost a fight. He may have been winning but he got dropped.
brashear for landing the ender.
Kicked ass
BGL dominates most of the fight with his grip on Brash's collar, sending him to his knees by spinning and punches to the BACK of his head. Brash regains his balance when BGL lets him up and Clocks BGL with 2 hard left to the side if the head for a KD win.
I have never seen Brash take a beating like this, but then again I have never seen BGL gets Knocked Down.
Gotta give it to brashear on the knock down. He was getting destroyed up to that point.
Brash pulls out the win with the smackdown at the end. Laraque was NOT off balance. He went down from the punch.
Laraque got some nice early shots in but the haymaker came from Brashear!!
Brashear drops Laraque at the end for the knock down win.. Up until that point Laraque was dominating the fight..
Laraque controlled most of the fight until the very end. I'm giving Brashear the slightest edge for making anice comeback with two solid lefts.
Good that the zebras didn't get in there too soon. Enough time to get Brash the DROP on things.
I resee after some rewiev and send the win to brash most of hits of laraque was cheapshot....Its really a heymaker by brash that takes down laraque....ehi man we are worry for laraque fan but it was beaten.....wins brashear....
Laraque had him early and showed a lot of class in not taking advantage when Brashear was down on his knee. Great punch at the end of the fight, very close call but a good fight between two of the best that Brashear wins at the bell.
Laraque never really connected. Brash got tied up at the beginning, but he just about broke Laraque's nose at the end.
he who laughs last laughs best.
Brashear is a great fighter. He give two punches to make George Laraque KO
Edge Brashear
Bombs away, Brashear wins by KO.
Win to Brash
Brashear with the comeback
laraque had him beat but breashear decked him at the end..
Great battle. But when you drop a 240 lbs guy with two straight lefts, you win the fight. Most of Laraque's punches landed to the back of Brashear's head anyways. As much as I love to hate the guy, Brashear is still the strongest, toughest and meanest enforcer in the NHL.
Brash gets a final shot and win. The most important is the END.
Brashear wins by TKO. He drops Laraque on his ass.
WIN BRASH...awesome fight...i was expecting a hugfest...laraque gets brash off balance and hammers him early but brash comes back with the knockdown punch...if laraque doesn't go down brash would have taken over the fight from that point
DAMN in the slow motion it shows big G getting knocked down...... Georgie owned brash up until that point
All Big G until the end. Tough to call, but I'll give it to Brash for the strong finish. Great fight, the best so far this year. When do these teams play again?
Brashear wins, knock out is all that matters, If hockey isnt determined in the first 2 periods, the beg. of this fight isnt the same as the end.
Hell of a fight... very tough to call because of the nature of the fight - laraque controlled the majority of the fight but brash landed far and away two of the heaviest blows you'll ever see in hockey - but in the end i had to give it to brashear, simply because he did more damage. it could have gone either way though.
f
Great scrap Props to both fighters as they are the toughest in the league I'd say draw
Brashear TKO'ed Laraque.
great one.........
Both guys deserved a win here....last man standing though. You have to give big donald credit for getting beaten down only to get back up & fight.
Georges was beating six different kinds of crap outta Brashear; until he layed out. If the refs had stopped this earlier, after the first two time Brash went to a knee, no question - BGL. They didn't and Brash laid him out pure and simple. Brash w/ the KO. GREAT FIGHT!
All BGL until the end, but Brash (no favorite of mine; I would've rather BGL won) caught him square at the end. Brash's trips to the ice seemed slips/loss of balance as much as knockdowns, but Brash's was clean and a clear TKO ending. Great fight.
great fight, i thought laracque dominated & i think threw brashear off fighting left handed. but have to give brashear the win with the knock down.
Brashear just KO Laraque, so I think that Brashear won!
Laraque 4sure laced a righteous beating in2 brashear for pretty much the whole fight, he kept the rabit punching southpaw slamming to brash's head, knocking him to his knee's 4 times!, but igotta give it 2 Donny though cause when he got his bearings and was able 2 stand steady again he absolutely launched Laraque into the atmosphere like a rag doll, 2 solid shots to Georges' headquaters and he was seeing stars, ucan see Laraque flayling in the air aftr Brashear's second haymaker, he definately got smacked silly.
I give the win to Brashear. Very close, very good fight.
the donald rocked him, boy george can't take a punch. Donald got hit early, but finished the job.........win donald
Excellent fight! I give it to Brashear only because of the finishing hit. Laraque clearly had the advantage up until the punch to the face.
long story short.... brash can take a punch, laraque can't win brash
One of the best bouts of the season so far....very close call...you couldnt ask for a better matchup
good scrap
Laraque got fucking knocked
Reminded me of the Stanely Ketchel-Jack Johnson fight 100 years ago Ketchel, a middleweight put Johnson down to the canvas for the count of 4 when Johnson laid a big one on Ketchel knocking out 4 upper tteth and put him to sleep for an hour
Im gunna say Brashaer took the win here.
OMG, what a fight. Laraque had him but brashear won at the end by a knock out. I don't know why laraque won when brashear knocked him down. Clearly laraque threw more and better punches, but brashear took them and clobbered laraque.
Brash with the knockdown win.
Laraque Controlled the majority of this Fight and was all over Brashear for 98 % of this fight Brashear did a good job by staying in tough and he got the Huge Punch in at the end Slight edge to Donald Brashear.
at first, it looked like brash was going to be dominated, but after slipping, he made a nice comeback, and knocked down Laraque.
Laraque landed better shots, but Brashear got the last couple. Hard to call.
Doesnt matter who dominated the early fight......Brashear landed the important punch, so i gotta give it to Brashear. Sox
All Laraque early, two big lefts by Brashear after it looked like the linesmen were going to jump in. Looks like Laraque stops at that point.
superb!
Wow..I had to watch that a couple times...Thank god the linseman didn't step in at the point Brashear was getting hit in the bald spot.
This is the fight of the year.It doesn't get any better than this. These to guys are the baddest of the bad.
I'm gonna say a draw. Big Georges obviously won the beginning, but he did get taken down from 2 vicious haymakers from Brashear. Awesome fight from two of the league's best.
what a great fight and reply!
Well Laraque gave him so many chances, he kept knocking him down and the refs tried to come in after the third knockdown, I give the edge to Laraque.
BGL got unbalanced & the refs were too quick to get in. BGL ftw!
BGL landed the 13 punches to brash's 2(one helmet shot). easy win for BGL. BGL let up on him, think he thought the refs were going to step in, which it looked like they were going to,.
George beat Brashear to the ice twice and let him up twice. Props to Brashear for coming back but clear win for George.
If Brash had connected with BGLs face I would have given it to him. he hit helmet, meanwhile Georges knocked Brash down 3 X
Brashear hit the ice at least twice, so how can he be the winner when he knocked BGL once? Laraque with the win.
Brashear hung in there and was just flailing haymakers at the end in survival mode. Both hit helmet, though. No damage done. Laraque definitely did more damage in this one.
Brashear did come back in the end there but Laraque wins as he dominated early...damn how i wish this fight went just another 30 seconds just 2 really see..and then 'maybe' give Brashear the win
The only reason Brashear was in the fight at all was because Laraque let him back in when he had him down. He could have destroyed him half way through if he really wanted too.
Are you guys for real???? Laraque beats this guy over the head 13 straight times, Brashear is on his knees getting his melon ponded on for more than half the fight he finally gets up and lands to shots to Laraque helmet and you can give him the win?????????? JOKE Laraque in a walk away!!!!!
there's absolutely no question BGL beat Brash down. BGL stopped as he saw the two clueless linesmen coming in to save Brash from more embarrassment. Both Brash's punches connected to the helmet. Not even close to a knockdown for Brash. Easy win for BGL. Anyone who doesn't see this is also clueless.
I think the announcer was about to crap his pants. Win Laraque.
that's the fight of the year right there. Points win to Laraque. That PxP man sounds like he should call for the WWE
The two best fighters in the league definitely
Brashear gets the takedown but Laraque dominates the fight. Win goes to Laraque.
big g all the way..big g let him off easy!! he could of really done some damage. brash is very lucky!! the champ is back!
Brashear's haymaker was pure helmet on Georgie. That hurt his fist as much as Laraque's head, I assure you. GL ftw, solid desicion.
announcer said it best.. doesn't get any better than this.. wow.
Laraque is the king of the league.
Haymaker that decked...? Uh, I think he lost his balance. Certainly a draw and that is giving much respect to Brashear. Not even close to the best fight of the year to date. Lots of 'hype' but no finish.
Wow! Now we have something to talk about for a long time. Was that last punch a KO or TKO or did Laraque step on a stick or milt? Was Laraque off balance? In boxing if you are off balance and get hit with a weak punch and the glove touches the mat, its a knock down. Good job by Brashear to hang around threw a pummeling and make it look good at the end! IMO even if that last punch landed well, Laraque was so far ahead that he edges Brashear. If Laraque can't get up after that punch, Brashear wins. Laraque wins by an eyelash.
DRAW
An extremely odd fight between the leagues top 2. Laraque dominates the first part, even holding up on a punch while Brashear is vulnerable. Brash hasn't even landed a punch yet. After going to his knees for the 2nd or 3rd time, Brashear gets up and decks Bgl with a left. Win Donald Brashear in a fight that BGL could have absolutely owned him
Now that was a fight. Big Georges pummeled him to the ice. Huggy Bear did not live up to his name and scored a big punch and a big win. I can't recall the last time Laraque was knocked down by a punch. I will be waiting for the rematch. Win Barasear
Good bout. Edge Laraque
Laraque had the upper hand early, and had the refs broke it up then and there, that would of been a Laraque win hands down. But Brashear showed some guts, got back up, and knocked Laraque on his ass. Nice comeback by Brashear
I guess the voting says that there is no room in a hockey fight for a come back TKO win...
