Cowers away from Chara to take on a smaller oponent shpleebin shpleebin.

Posted by lovejoy on March 04, 2008 at 01:14 AM

here we can see Brash on his own - with smaller guy. He's a goon.

Posted by trpaulson on March 06, 2008 at 07:06 PM

Draw. Brashear landed some to the back of the head (as usual), Thornton landed some good power shots.

Posted by capsfloors on March 04, 2008 at 07:08 AM

Huggy Bear decides to take on someone smaller than him and guess what....he decides to fight and not hug....obviously this guy picks his spots after watching this game!

Posted by RichFmFoxboro on March 04, 2008 at 11:08 AM

fair fight...looked like DB got the better of it but it was pretty close

Posted by ibled4theusa on March 04, 2008 at 12:50 PM

Better effort for Brashear. Funny how everyone complains of the Bear's wrestling in close, but it is hard to step back when your opponent is holding the back of your jersey. Nice bombs from both. DRAW

Posted by Big_Goon on March 04, 2008 at 11:44 AM

Good bout! Draw in my book, maybe a slight edge to Brashear but not enough to sway me.

Posted by LawsonBarkhouse on March 04, 2008 at 04:15 PM

Very close.Thorton gave an excellant account of himself and how he felt about the Bruins getting hammered. All respect to him for trying to pump some life back into his team.If Chara had an ounce of character this fight would not have been necessary. He excels at pounding other players who have little to no chance of a win.He must of had a reach advantage of 10" or more on Brashear.Poor example Chara, you should be ashamed of yourself. I'm calling the fight a draw.

Posted by rjmont on March 04, 2008 at 02:03 PM

Both throwing toe-to-toe. Noce shots landed by both. Draw.

Posted by DIRTYWATAH on March 04, 2008 at 08:33 AM

Good fight. Thornton caught him with one. I'd call it a draw.

Posted by OriginalSix on March 04, 2008 at 04:29 PM

DRAW! Thorton got the better shots in early. Brash had that one strak toward the end. Both guys ended with some nice shots.

Posted by chl37 on March 04, 2008 at 08:20 AM

good fight. brashear conveniently chooses to throw punches this time against a lesser opponent.

Posted by Juha82 on June 03, 2008 at 02:04 PM

Brash was bit better but not enough for the win. A DRAW, as Thornton landed two nice rights to the start as they goes toe to toe. Brash got a good flurry, landing punches to the back of Thorntons head. Thornton comesback with good right. Brash took Thornton to the ice.

Posted by growsales1 on March 04, 2008 at 03:23 AM

good skirmish......Brashear dished out, but Thornton took it and kept coming.....proud of him. For the chin I score it a draw.

Posted by moneybags on March 04, 2008 at 03:18 AM

this ones a draw fellas

Posted by BozzMan on March 31, 2008 at 03:53 PM

Thornton tagged Brashear in the beginning of the fight with some good right hands. Brash got caught by Shawn's big right then fired back with some punches of his own. While Brashear threw more and landed more, they mostly landed on Thornton's helmet and the back of his head, which hurt the knuckles a lot more. Draw.

Posted by JCeltic on March 04, 2008 at 11:19 AM

Decent punches from both. Nice hit from Thornton making Brash take a knee. Draw, regardless. AND WHERE THE F*CK WAS REICH IN THIS GAME!?

Posted by tormakesmelaugh on March 04, 2008 at 06:47 AM

I read everyones review and i have nothing against Brashear so my oppinion here is objective...Brash may have thrown more but Thornton made Brash take a knee...brash hit a lot of helmet and not much damaging blows...Thornton got the best of the shots that landed in..so I call this one a draw...Great fight tho nice to see HUGGY open up a bit and throw em... draw draw draw

Posted by smash1 on March 06, 2008 at 06:03 AM

why didnt brashear fight like that against chara .? scared ?

Posted by renaudh on March 04, 2008 at 02:34 AM

A very good draw. Nice to see so much punches landed.

Posted by BStreetBullies on March 04, 2008 at 10:58 AM

Draw here. Thornton got the better of the toe-to-toe exchange.

Posted by Bruins29 on March 04, 2008 at 12:31 PM

Excellent fight with both guys landing some shots. Thornton got in the best punch of the fight, but Brashear landed more overall. This one is a draw.

Posted by HawkPilot on March 04, 2008 at 07:11 PM

I gave it draw too, mainly because I thought Thornton landed some better punches but Brash controlled him pretty good. I think that's the most punches I've seen Huggy Bear throw in a long time.

Posted by mikebflorida on March 04, 2008 at 09:53 AM

Ok, this is one of the best fights of the year and also one of the most controversial because the voting on it is so skewed. If you go to the community boards, you can find a clip of the slow mo for this fight and clearly see which punches land, which punches hit helmet and who knocks who down. Don't take my word for it, watch the slow mo. This fight is a classic draw. Both fighters landed punches and both fell at the same time. Brashear does NOT win this fight at all, if anything, more of a case can be made for Thornton as he knocks Donnie down and certainly has a size disadvantage, and lands the better punches. rash has a good chin and takes those punches well. When he switches hands, it throws Thornton off balance and Donnie lands a couple to the back of the head. Big deal. The problem here is the homers and fans of Brashear will vote him the win despite him clearly NOT winning. I am as objective as they come and try to vote these fights honestly and there is no clear winner here. Remember, this isn't boxing boys and girls, it's a spontaneous hockey fight where edges and points are not scored but rather, wins, losses, and most of the time, draws.

Posted by KDOGG on March 04, 2008 at 08:37 AM

Donald won huge everything thornton was throwing never landed he just ate knuckle sanmiches lol

Posted by bengeorge7 on March 04, 2008 at 06:21 PM

Just because Brash threw more punches doesn't mean he won. To my eye, not counting precisely, he threw what 25 punches? How many of them really connect? 7? 8? Thornton throws about 8 and lands 6, two of which would have knocked out a lesser opponent. And Brash had to take a knee at one point. I know Brash is veteran at this and knows what he's doing, but that flurry of punches to me looks more like a desire to survive, than anything resembling a decisive win. Great fight. DRAW.

Posted by Tangy30 on March 04, 2008 at 09:49 AM

I love it. Hammer time. If they took the buckets off prior, there would have been a KO for sure.

Posted by jealeman on March 04, 2008 at 11:46 PM

Win goes to Brash... Here's the real question...why didn't he man up to Chara?!? I mean...he totally wussed out on that one...WTF?

Posted by deerkiller.carl on March 04, 2008 at 08:21 PM

good fight.

Posted by JABUSHFSU on March 04, 2008 at 01:12 AM

people please watch and count punches that land. brasher with the win easy. i watch the fight 3 times to make sure. thorton landed 3 shots on brashers helmet. then brasher landed about 10 to 15 .

Posted by droppingbombs on March 04, 2008 at 09:33 AM

Wow, Thornton got in a fight? Amazing?!?! Finally doing his friggin job!, instead of letting a 19 year old do all the fighting this year. Where was Reich this game? Getting blown out and Reich is skating around like he is there to do something besides fight. Incredible. Neither Thornton or Reich go after Erkskine for the beating he gave Lucic last time these teams met?? I've had enough of Thornton/Reich, we need a real fighter with some heart and balls in beantown......as for the fight, Brasheer killed him after after pooping his pants at the thought of fighting Chara. Brasheer fares well against the smaller guys. McGratton ragdolls Brasheer yearly. And Chara would have ate him alive. Brasheer picks his spots. He is not an elite fighter.

Posted by beter06 on March 04, 2008 at 01:52 PM

Donnie at least you redeemed yourself from that chara tackle

Posted by jcm on March 04, 2008 at 09:23 AM

decent exchange, brashear is almost credible in this one. I'm neither a Bruins or Brash fan, so I'm neutral on this. Thornton is a real-gamer, that's an understatement. It's unfortunate that Brashear bowed out of the Chara dance. That had to have some potential IF they simply went at it instead of the dance, stare-down, fall-down... Chara scares me, and IF he focused on just throwing 'em, he could be hard to beat.

Good Fight

Posted by jerryross on March 05, 2008 at 05:20 PM

s'okay. Part of it looked like a helmet slapping contest.

Posted by shane0mack on March 04, 2008 at 11:22 AM

i hope thornton had some advil handy after the game

Posted by The Peach on March 04, 2008 at 03:42 PM

brash takin out the trash. give him the edge. thornton is a gamer, give him his due though.

Posted by Poop Jack Pappy on March 04, 2008 at 07:29 PM

Gentlemen, that was a fight. I give the edge to huggy as he landed decent shots with both fists. Winner Huggy. Does Huggy have goldfish in his skates?

Posted by Art24 on March 04, 2008 at 11:23 AM

Brash with the edge. I'm impressed by Thorton's cojones, though.

Posted by bam bam cam on March 04, 2008 at 08:07 PM

At least Thorton would go toe to toe with Brashear. I love the heart. It was much better than big z's latest wrestleing match. Win Brashear

Posted by hockey doc on March 04, 2008 at 07:58 AM

Brash is a beast, win for the beast.

Posted by Frew14 on March 04, 2008 at 05:56 PM

dcmac was obviously drunk off his ass when he wrote that Thorton won. Get some new eyeballs and watch the fight again dude. Clear win Brash

Posted by Formerref on March 04, 2008 at 07:50 PM

Brash won this when he switched hands. Good fight.

Posted by dukeofearle on March 08, 2008 at 12:41 PM

Pretty Good bout. Brashear is a monster. Classic Brash with the short hammers. He had the late activity to secure the win.

Posted by beager on March 04, 2008 at 01:27 AM

Lot of good throwing, and fairly even until Brashear just began to unload with goodies. Win to him for throwing more and landing more.

Posted by ETR on March 04, 2008 at 06:57 PM

Good scrap. gotta go brashear again, hate doing that but gotta call it as I see it.

Posted by Gunslinger on March 05, 2008 at 12:16 AM

Thornton really starts well, gets out of Brash's hug and throws/lands several good shots. Brash, as is his habit, comes on strong and lands some heavy blows of his own. Most guys will probably give Thornton the win because of the dislike for Brashear but I will stand out and give it to Brash, even though common sense tells me to give it a draw.

Posted by flyer50 on March 05, 2008 at 05:10 AM

Brasher a little to big and strong for thorton..thorton does well in begining brasher takes over at end...win brasher

Posted by narinsvy on March 05, 2008 at 10:43 PM

brash was good,he won it easy

Posted by BrianTheAdsFan on March 04, 2008 at 09:53 AM

Much better fight this time. I liked Brashear in this one.

Posted by Sasky001 on March 04, 2008 at 08:16 PM

Brasierre fouond someone smaller than himself to pound on. Hero.

Posted by dmk139 on March 04, 2008 at 07:28 AM

Brashear landed the better blows in this one

Posted by hlalor on March 05, 2008 at 11:31 PM

Folks, I was there and saw Thornton afterwards in the penalty box with a big gash to his fore head. It was indeed a close fight, but Thornton was calling for the refs to jump in towards the end of the fight. Thornton didn't want to end up in hospital.

Posted by merle johnson on March 05, 2008 at 12:26 PM

Huggy with the win, where was this when Chara was in front of him???

Posted by Tso xThe Hammer on March 04, 2008 at 08:01 PM

brashear kicked his ass

Posted by tim13 on March 05, 2008 at 11:13 AM

Brash... easy. The voting on this site is an absolute disgrace.

Posted by iraqvet on March 04, 2008 at 01:01 PM

Brashear was in control. he had thornton on his heels the whole fight. Brashear still has those Sledge hammer punches. I wouldn't want to get hit by them.

Posted by BigPapa08 on March 04, 2008 at 06:25 PM

Brashear actually threw punches in this one, pretty good scrap. Give the slight edge to Brashear.

Posted by qmchugh on March 08, 2008 at 01:35 PM

Real good fight Brashear in a close one.

Posted by Nightmare on March 04, 2008 at 10:55 AM

Brashear is too much for Thornton here

Posted by bigmichM on March 05, 2008 at 06:51 PM

Good bout. Thornton held his own, but have to give the decision to The Donald!

Posted by Bear72 on March 04, 2008 at 09:33 AM

Excellent dust up Brash slight edge at end i enjoyed it win to Brash

Posted by SemperFi_Canes on March 04, 2008 at 07:57 PM

Brashear edges out a win here, but not by much. Great fight, after all the hugging wwas done.

Posted by railoperator on March 04, 2008 at 06:07 PM

Man brashear is getting old but i guess that doesnt matter much he pounded the younger thornton hopefully his next fight with bgl will be worth watching.

Posted by stash0521 on March 05, 2008 at 10:55 AM

Brashear all the way. THat is a guy I wish my Blackhawks could pick up.

Posted by crosscheck52 on April 07, 2010 at 10:30 PM

Good fight and hard to pick a winner. Brashear might have edged him.

Posted by Muscles on March 05, 2008 at 05:55 PM

Thornton got in a few early, but Brashear really took over when he switched hands.

Posted by Scott4 on March 05, 2008 at 05:44 AM

Nice T-2-T fight. Slidge edge for Brashear. It's nice to see Brash throwing punches than hugging with a opponents.

Posted by FlyersDosage on March 04, 2008 at 07:40 AM

The announcers were loving this fight..."ohhhh...ahhhhh" Win for Donald!

Posted by Pickle2728 on March 04, 2008 at 01:46 PM

Slight edge to HuggyBear in this nice little scrap. WIN = BRASHEAR

Posted by aaronious on March 04, 2008 at 09:40 AM

Thornton did surprisingly well. Edge for Brash though.

Posted by pinkerton on March 04, 2008 at 07:09 AM

Boy Thornton sure does have a hard head. He's gonna wake up with some kind of headache. Clear win for Brash

Posted by eadamson on March 05, 2008 at 07:45 PM

a lot of big punches landed for both guys at the beginning but then thornton ducks his head down having got the worse of it. after that, it's all brashear who wins handily.

Posted by ploplopfizzfizz on March 04, 2008 at 09:32 AM

That fight was not even close. They both hit nothing but helmet at first but Brashaer pounded him when he switched from sout paw.

Posted by Foy on March 04, 2008 at 03:57 PM

Brashear couldn't get a clean fight in his first tilt of the evening, but he sure got one here. Thornton tried to throw Brashear down, but couldn't after he lost his helmet. Then he tried to go down himself, and Brashear just pulled him back up and kept firing away.

Posted by Joe Mack on March 04, 2008 at 05:27 PM

how could anyone possibly give this to thornton? not to say he didnt do well. he held his own and landed some shots, but this was a clear win for brashear. thornton was overpowered throughout the bout.

Posted by mpagano22 on March 04, 2008 at 06:27 AM

I dont know how anyone can say Thornton won this fight. Must be from Boston and blind as a bat

Posted by pitthull on March 06, 2008 at 01:29 AM

You HAVE to be kidding me -- this was all one way -- and it wasn't Thorton's way! Disappointing that anyone could see it that way.

Posted by Enfrcr77 on March 04, 2008 at 10:12 AM

good fight... Brashear with the "W"

Posted by iceman88 on March 04, 2008 at 08:28 AM

Nice! Pretty good fight. Brash didnt go for the take down and Thornton hung in there. You could see the power of Brash wearing on Thornton though. Tough kid.

Posted by blwiseass on March 07, 2008 at 02:07 PM

Brashear Owned him. Thornton tried to go down twice and Brash wouldn't let him haha

Posted by RustyTrombone on March 04, 2008 at 05:06 PM

Don't understand how anyone could give this to Thornton. Even a draw is a stretch.

Posted by MMA_FCF on March 04, 2008 at 08:00 AM

Great bout. Lots of punches thrown. I would have to give it to Brash when he switched up hands and landed a few quickies. Thornton definitely had the strength to match the shove for shove which surprised me. Very entertaining.

Posted by DARCY T on March 04, 2008 at 04:48 AM

i agree with slinger82.win brashear thanks to his finish.excellent fight

Posted by squish81 on March 07, 2008 at 05:56 PM

Oh those southpaws. Brash in a dash. Thornton can bring them but never got on track and experience beats enthusiasm. Man I cringe when those lefts from Brash hit bone!

Posted by BattleAxe13 on March 10, 2008 at 04:25 PM

Brash gets the win in this one. This is the best fight Brash has been in all year.

Posted by Flyersfan4life2 on March 04, 2008 at 08:50 AM

The only shots thornton got in was in the beginning, After thornton threw the first couple, brashear kinda took over and it was all brashear from there on. Good job from thornton, but brashear was just too much in this one. W for Brash

Posted by mickeystones on March 04, 2008 at 12:57 AM

Great scrap!

Posted by lampington on March 04, 2008 at 10:37 AM

Man I love watching thornton fights!!! he is quickly becoming one of my favorite fighters to watch. at the end of this year i think his name will be getting thrown around for more that one fight for fight of the year. he is an entertaining [email protected]! win brashear in a fight which thornton kept close.

Posted by CAPSxV3N0Mx on March 04, 2008 at 07:26 AM

Posted by vestallstar on March 04, 2008 at 05:42 AM

Brashear won it, look at the hits he gets in after 0:20 there, great fight!

Posted by dromano13 on March 04, 2008 at 09:01 AM

Brashear is a common criminal, in texas he would have gotton the chair by now!

Posted by cambec on March 04, 2008 at 11:42 PM

Thornton held his own against a much stronger and far more experienced fighter....if this was handicapped, you would have to give the fight to Thornton...but it isn't...win to Brash

Posted by Lucy Brown on March 04, 2008 at 02:34 PM

Bunch of blind people voting here. At best a draw. No way Brashear gets the win though after eating the only real bomb of the fight.

Posted by bluto1313 on March 05, 2008 at 09:01 PM

Thornton's punches had a lot more ass behind them. Slight edge to Shawn.

Posted by avesorr44 on March 04, 2008 at 03:57 PM

brashear really throws funny looking little punches, i dont see them doing much damage

Posted by pitslam on March 04, 2008 at 10:28 AM

Brashear sucks. Close fight

Posted by billy jack on March 04, 2008 at 02:40 AM

watched it frame by frame, thorton caught brash twice to the chin, brash got a bunch to the back of the head, win thorton.

Posted by CrossCheck on March 06, 2008 at 05:11 PM

No way Asshear wins this one. During that toe to toew flurry Brash hit helmet, and Thornton got 4 to 5 punches solid to the side of the face of Brash. Brash then took a little more control, but Thornton may have scored a wild right cross right before they grapple and go down. In my opinion, I think the win goes to Thornton rather easily.

Posted by mrpimp4 on March 04, 2008 at 05:47 PM

definitely not a win for thornton but no way brashear got the win. draw in a good fight

Posted by dcmac on March 04, 2008 at 06:10 AM

That was a good back and forth battle. I gave it to Thornton.

Posted by riggs61a on March 04, 2008 at 01:09 AM

Good tilt kudos to Shawn Thornton for taking on the much bigger Brashear and shame on Brash for ducking out on the chara fight with an early takedown and then fighting the much smaller Thornton later in the night.

Posted by mm1160 on March 04, 2008 at 08:40 AM

I am going to give it to Thornton by a hair...really thought he did land the bigger shots, although DB landed more. Very close.

Posted by pmarz1 on March 04, 2008 at 01:08 PM

Several lefts by Thorton at the beginning of the fight landed cleanly, the rest was pretty even. For those of you who think Brashear hitting Thorton on the back of his head is winning a fight, think again.

Posted by umaksgx on March 06, 2008 at 09:57 AM

Edge to Thornton

Posted by SirYohans on March 04, 2008 at 11:19 AM

I'm with "kocurfan26," Thornton earns himself a slight win imo & for sure earns a Draw at least. The t2t action at the beginning was ALL Thornton, Brash's punches were & did NOTHING there. Brash did a nice job switching to his right & did land a couple of solid shots. But after watching several times real speed & slo-mo Thorton's right did land & yes that was Big Don taking a knee. (LOL, open-ice tackle, taking a knee... Sounds like Brash is in the wrong sport.) P.S.-I think people sometimes wait for the "Brash Beatdown Flurry" & then give him the win once it happens without paying much attention to anything else. In this case u must pay close attention & your view might change... Just my 2 cents, though.

Posted by jim_young on March 04, 2008 at 01:34 PM

My initial reaction was a draw but the vote was way too heavy on Brash's side for me. I give it to Thornton to even it up like it should be. Great showing Thornton.

Posted by seanw on March 04, 2008 at 12:42 PM

both looked good but thorton gets the credit for trading bombs with the bigger brash. give the slight edge to thorton.

Posted by Masterofone on March 04, 2008 at 11:34 AM

Good tangle, Thornton landed a few more quality punches, I think.

Posted by bubba5 on March 04, 2008 at 08:41 AM

Great scrap. Have to give an edge to Thorton for landing some cleaner shots. Looked like Donald was on his way down, but nice turn around.

Posted by KORPI24 on March 04, 2008 at 08:29 AM

Thorton got the 2 best punches in, Brashear recovered well after getting almost knocked right out. Brashear got more punches in, but not as damaging. But, Brashear went for the form tackle against Chara, so instead of a draw vote in this fight, I'll give it to Thorton.

Posted by jrbz88 on March 04, 2008 at 09:38 AM

I thought Thorton had one solid connection that rocked Brash, Brash looked to be hitting a lot of helmet and throwing a bit too wild.

Posted by ooleg71 on March 04, 2008 at 04:43 PM

I have one name for LOOSER Brashear Marty McSorley

Posted by bosox on March 04, 2008 at 10:01 AM

i give it to thorton, not to many ppl have given brashear a go like that this year.

Posted by siouxfan1 on March 04, 2008 at 01:03 AM

I think Thornton threw the most and landed more punches than Brashear. One hellva a fight!!!

Posted by bristolboy on March 06, 2008 at 12:42 AM

Brashear got dropped!!! OK he got up pretty quick, but that punch got the legs to buckle. I'd say that evens out the fact that Brashear landed more punches.

Posted by madbomber1371 on March 04, 2008 at 07:31 AM

Pretty good scrap, like seeing guys go toe 2 toe, the way it should be! If not a draw, then a slight edge to Brash.

Posted by Viper207 on March 04, 2008 at 04:11 AM

Great fight! No clear winner here - defined as a DRAW

Posted by flyerguy on March 04, 2008 at 11:00 AM

Even fight. Brashear throws a lot of punches that don't hit anything and people give him the win for it.

Posted by BostonBruins19 on March 04, 2008 at 04:39 PM

good fight. both just throwing out there and a few landed for each. Brashear looked to land more but Thornton appeared to land a huge punch towards the end and got the take down, so ill call it a draw.

Posted by jaswa on March 05, 2008 at 07:40 AM

the most obvious shots came from Brash when he switched up on Thornton but Shawn landed some bombs in this one too. Great bout. draw.

Posted by Adambruinsfan on March 20, 2008 at 10:18 PM

Good fight, both guys landed some bombs. Looked like Brashear went down to a knee from a Thornton punch. Draw.

Posted by bigdog2007 on March 04, 2008 at 08:50 AM

Old Man Brashear can still throw...even though he is a huggybear

Posted by pynkfloid3 on March 04, 2008 at 11:43 PM

brashear owned him the whole time. thornton wants to throw as long as his helmets on...if not he is good wresting...and nobody pays to see a wrestling match.

Posted by ROCK HAWK on March 04, 2008 at 11:40 AM

Close fight..no draw. Brash wins. Landed more = W. Must either be lots of Bruin fans or Brash haters or both.. Even though Thornton landed the best punch, and ill give more points for putting Brash on a knee, Brash landed about 5 or 6 more decent ones. Judge the fight fair. Some of you on here scoring it a draw because Thornton can take a punch or stand tough against a bigger guy - funny and SAD ! I just asked 5 ppl i work with to judge the fight (3 are boxing fans) none of them with any bias whatsoever. Had them watch it twice..all 5 said the guy in the red won the fight.

Posted by azjim on March 05, 2008 at 01:27 AM

Pretty close, but Brashear landed more at the end.

Posted by NJDcaptain04 on March 04, 2008 at 01:14 PM

Win for brash. I noticed he didn't go for the tackle on this one tho. Gotta give him props for being a smart fighter. He KNOWS when (and more importantly, with WHO) to throw down and when to get into a hugfest. He's one of today's better heavies, but he wouldn't stand a chance against a Probert, Gillies, Nilan, Kocur (before his hands turned to hamburger meat), etc.

obvious win for the brashinator. this was like one of those robot boxing toys, only one of them wasn't doing much of anything

Thornton actually gets a few good shots in there early, but Brash just kind of takes over after that. Pretty good scrap. Win to Bushy Brows himself

Who are the blind among us who think Thornton won this? A few more atom bombs from Brashear and you have concussion city

Posted by hoosty64 on March 04, 2008 at 12:48 PM

Are you kidding me. It was an even fight in the begining then Brashaer got a bunch of shots to the back of the head. Must be a lot of Boston idiots voting here.

I was going to rate this a draw, and then I watched past the 5 second mark and gave it to Donald. When he switched to the right it became his fight, Thornton had no response except to tackle him. Great fight by both. Win for Donald by a stronger finish.

Thornton held his own, but decision goes to Brashear

All Brashear...NO.1 PERIOD

hilarious and i thought the flyers had a lot of homers i dont know how anyone could call this a win thornton a draw maybe but definitely no win for thornton

Posted by eggers on March 04, 2008 at 09:39 AM

Thornton did not win this fight. C'mon people seriously. I don't like Brashear either because he does [ick his spots but he won this fight clearly. I don't understand what some of you see, or how you grade a fight. I just don't get it sometimes.

good for thornton to take so many punches to the head without going down but brashear clearly wins this one

Posted by lucic17 on March 04, 2008 at 08:00 AM

very close win for brashear. thornton got in the best punch(knocked brashear down) but brashear got in a few more even thought he missed with a bunch of his punches. credit thornton with fighting a bigger guy-he can take a punch for sure. brash in second half gets the win.

Posted by scanz30 on March 04, 2008 at 08:44 PM

brash really took it to him

Posted by eastcoast79 on March 05, 2008 at 02:30 PM

Finally a Bruin willing to go toe-to-toe with Brashear. Thorton held his own, didn't have to tackle Brashear right away like some others (Chara), but I had to give it to Brashear.

very good fight. Brash with the win

Posted by Sikosmurf on March 04, 2008 at 04:51 AM

There is no way this could be considered a draw. Yeah, thornton got some ok hits in, but brashear still had him.

Posted by perezj on March 04, 2008 at 08:08 AM

Thorton landed the solid punch. He did a nice job of trying to keep Donals from hugging him to death. Donald tried the usual noggies to the back of the head. Brashear one of the most over rated fighters of all time. Good win for Thorton.

How does anyone vote for Brashear in this fight? At best it was a draw and that is a stretch. Thornton clearly had more effective power punches. Clear victory in my book
