Date / Time Away / Home Team Away / Home Player
Jan 24, 2008 Pittsburgh Penguins Georges Laraque
1pd 02:19 Philadelphia Flyers Riley Cote
Comments: Right off of the faceoff they drop the gloves and square off at center ice. They grab ahold of each other and Laraque throws a quick left. Cote falls to the ice but Laraque allows him to get back up. They spin around and Laraque starts to connect with numerous lefts, knocking Cote's helmet off and rocking him. Cote throws a left of his own but it comes up short. Laraque continues to land with lefts until Cote throws another left, knocking both off-balance and to the ice.

Laraque wins this, but once again he gets hit with a single punch, loses his balance, and to the ice he goes...

Give Cote credit for hanging in there with Laraque

Cote will have other chances to redeem himself later in the year.

don't like BGL but he is the champ for a reason and showed why again...big, strong, and smart is a tough combination to beat

he got in the first good grip which proved to be important....i enjoyed the fact it was open and BGL showed his strong technical side getting Cote locked out and keeping him spinning....props to George for acutally using his fists in a win and not just the quick take down

props to Cote for keeping on his feet and looking for a way back in to the fight he will learn fron the fight.... is it me or did he look a bit smallish when they were squared up before the scarp??

BGL wins in pretty easy fashion!

Cote hung in there, but BGL owned the fight. Hats off to Cote for going w/ the big man, but BGL put on a show and not hugfest for once. He actually punched. He is still the champ.

Good job Riley hitting George's hand with your face. Domination

Big Georges with the big win here. I give credit to Cote for standing in there while giving up about 40 pounds and alot of talent. Georges landed about 7 or 8 jackhammer lefts. Another nasty game between the Pens-Flyers.

BGL beat Cote like a rag doll...any questions?! The only way a Flyer can win a fight is by sucker punching someone or hitting them with a cheap shot from behind and then throwing down on the poor sod...YGBSM!!

Wow! The best BGL has looked in a long time. He seemed confident, didn't grapple, and came out ready to throw. Props to Riles too, for not trying to tie up the left and being willing to throw with Georges, unlike many guys. But BGL jackhammered that left off Cote's skull quite a few times. I think it's ironic that in a fight he clearly won, the master of the takedown (Laraque) actually gets taken down by Cote. Good showing by the big man here.

looks to me Cote took down BGL cote gets the nod in my book,i'll say BGL showed a ton of class,in letting RC get up.

Hats off to Cote for staring down that oncoming freight train; that's gotta be absolutely terrifying. Win Laraque.

Guys Laraque's size can't beat him. Why would Cote have a shot? Another, easy, convincing win for King Georges.

Win Laraque, but do you get the feeling the Laraque's punches don't hurt that much? Have you ever seen him really hurt someone, like Boogard or Orr? Who would you rather be hit by, Boogard or Laraque?.....
