Comments: Rypien nails Brett Clark along the boards with a big hit, prompting Laperriere to skate after Rypien and challenge him. Rypien turns around and the two drop the gloves, quickly grabbing ahold of one another. They start going toe-to-toe with punches right off the bat: Laperriere going with rights and Rypien the left. Rypien switches hands and lands three rights until Laperriere is able to tie him up. Rypien throws a few body shots and throws another left before he takes Laperriere down to the ice. The linesmen come in and break things up. Rypien skates back to the dressing room with a big cut on the bridge of his nose.

Considering what a crapola fighter Laperriere is, this is not an impressive performance by Rypien. Draw.

Good to see a Canuck running to the dressing room a bloody mess. Laperriere needs a clean jersey so he doesn't catch hepatitis, Rypien needs stitches.

tough to call i give it a draw. rypien was going through the middle of the fight but lappy caught him with some serious shots as well gashing ryppers nose real good, so its a clear draw. lappy controlled the beginning cameras were late
