Date / Time Away / Home Team Away / Home Player
Mar 25, 2007 Colorado Avalanche Ian Laperriere
1pd 01:59 Vancouver Canucks Jeff Cowan
Comments: Laperriere decks Cowan with a hit along the boards. Cowan takes exception and goes after Laperriere who lingers at center ice to wait for a response. They drop the gloves and grab ahold of each other. They immediately start going toe-to-toe with punches: Laperriere with rights, Cowan with lefts. Laperriere loses his balance and falls to the ice with Cowan getting in a left as they are going down. The linesmen are right there to grab them and end the fight.

Did someone just say this was a KO? Pass the bong this way cuz I want some of what you're on. With the recent rapeage of Fedoruk by Orr, you should know what a KO is.
Anyways, slight edge to Cowan in this short but spirited bout.

Laperriere loses his balance, falls to the ice and that means he loses the fight? OK???

Ian landed a few rights early. Cowan knocks him to the ice with a good left to end and take the win.

Short fight dut a decent one.

Some people dont know the dif between a KO and a KD (knock down) Either way a couple of tough dudes who in no way are Super Heavy s but know and do their job well.

Cowen owned Laperiere, leveling him at the end.

If your decision on who won this fight is based on the attached video... there is something else you need to know. When the fight ended, Laperriere went to the box and Cowan was skated to the locker room by a trainer.

If Laperriere lost this fight, I would hate to see what his opponent looks like when he wins. At under 200lbs, I think he is the best pound for pound in the NHL. Takes on guys who outhweight 20-30lbs every week. At the very least he is brave.

Wow, Cowan with an unusally good showing. Win to Cowan, but both sides had their moments. Nice little toe-to-toe scrap.

Whoever said that was a KO, id suggest laying off the booze for a little while.
