Man I love Downey. He's been such a great addition for the Red Wings. The guy has such heart. And he wins almost every fight he's in. I love watching him play. He represents the Winged Wheel like a warrior. Great to watch him pummel Laperriere.

Lapperriere got his ass kicked. he deserved it for that cheap hit on Lidstrom. Downey put him on his punkass again early in the 3rd period too. He'll get more the next time these two teams meet.

Downey with the win here but he is an idiot if he thinks Laperriere's hit on Lidstrom was dirty. It was a perfectly clean check. Another instance of someone taking exception to a good, clean hit by responding with fists. It's getting out of hand. Sticking up for your teammates is one thing, but this is quite another. I'm sorry Lidstrom got hurt, but that happens sometimes, and the hit was not dirty

Laperriere is looking for a fight, he cheap shots Downey. Downey was just protecting his teamates. Good work. I have lost all respect for Laperriere.

WIN DOWNEY...OWNED
Lappy has really been getting handled this year, which is disappointing after such a strong showing last year. I'd say he's gotta be up for most disappointing fighter of the year, he's my leading candidate anyway.

Downey by a mile. This all started because of a dirty hit by Laperriere on Nik Lidstrom who left the game. Downey beat Lapuke down like the dog he is. Later in the game when Downey went after him again he was jumped from behind by Cody McLeod. I thought when the Avs got rid of Claude LePew, Forsberg and Foote, they got got rid of all the backhitters. Guess they got a whole new crop.

Nice turtle by Laperriere. Claude Lemieux would be proud.

Good for Downey sticking up for Lidstrom. Hurt the number one dman in the league and youll pay for it.
