Man I love Downey. He's been such a great addition for the Red Wings. The guy has such heart. And he wins almost every fight he's in. I love watching him play. He represents the Winged Wheel like a warrior. Great to watch him pummel Laperriere.

Great go by Downey - absolute ass-whipping and a true turtle move by Lappy

Nice turtle by Laperriere. Claude Lemieux would be proud.

Laperriere is looking for a fight, he cheap shots Downey. Downey was just protecting his teamates. Good work. I have lost all respect for Laperriere.

I'd like to know who the morons are who picked Laperriere. It's gotta be Colorodo fans who like players who turtle- ring a bell, eh claude?

Winner: Downey

Gotta hand it to downey...the guy fights old school and says the right things in the lockerroom. He LIVES by the code. He knows his job and is fearless out there. His last 2 fights have really proved his worth to the wings. It was great seeing La *****-aire turtle at the end from the flurry of lefts Downey was pummeling him with....way to go Ian. Sidenote...McCarty just had a hattrick with the GR Griffens. Fully expect him to be called up by the 26th. Way to go Aaron. Don't know where the wings would be without him this year. Can't wait to see him and Big Mac play together on a checking line in the playoffs.

For the season..Downey is 6-0-3 according to HF.com stats. He'll probably end up with a few more this weekend....especially with the Flames coming up. Love those calgary games. Gotta say that his signing this season has been a huge success. Ken Holland is a wizard.

Why would anyone throw a heavy high right elbow to Lidstrom? He's one of the cleanest most gentlemanly players in the league. Props to Downey he beat laperriere like a snare drum. Im kinda ticked at Cheli. You need to be there foryaboy. Downey will be there no doubt for his teammate's and hopefully Mccarty will be there also. GO WING"S

Lappy is a gamer but Downey beats him down.

Winner Downey

What? Everyone giving a Red Wing a clear win? Are you guys sure Lappy didn't slip or anything? Maybe he had a cold and was under the weather? Win Downey.
