Jamie Benn is easily the best fighter amongst the leagues elite players. Inspirational captain.

Posted by King of Goons on March 02, 2016 at 05:30 AM

Jamie Benn is awesome. He can score, check, fight, plays with an edge, and he's a great leader. He's practically the perfect hockey player. The Announcers made this seem a lot more one-sided than it was. Gaustad actually did pretty well for himself, but he's still a doofus and Benn won the fight. Gaustad will forever be remembered as the clown that Milan Lucic turned into his personal b*tch. I have no use for him. Goose is a fake tough guy who just got lumped up by probably the best Captain in the league (outside of Superman J. Towes, of course).

Didnt know Benn had that kind of punches in him, solid fight.

Posted by FHgrad99 on March 02, 2016 at 01:17 AM

One of the announcers sounds like he needs an endorsement deal for an energy drink. Gaustad held his own for a while before Benn rocked him with about 3 good shots upside the head and that settled that.

Way closer than the announcer and most of the comments state. Benn landed one good right and one good left. Gausted landed more but lighter. Draw.

gave Benn the decision in this one, but it was close ....good win....Gaustad is a legit tough guy !

benn

Benn wins, but this was an inspirational victory at the end of a losing effort game and Razor/Strader are excited. Benn starts in off balance and looks like he's going to get destroyed- things are even and then he rebalances and unloads. Not as lopsided as it feels in the video, but definitely a Benn win. Good on Gaustad for staying up with Benn and accepting the challenge late in the game they had already won. More wins for the Stars please!

Not only can he score but he can handle himself very well

Posted by doctorvegas on March 08, 2016 at 10:00 PM

not close benn a clear winner

Posted by berry_nutzz on March 06, 2016 at 11:11 AM

Gaustad showed vigor early in the fight, probably from having to wear a bright gold jersey and hear country music constantly in Nashville. But DAMN those two sequential lefts from Jamie Benn. Nice! A scorer who can bruise. old school!

Posted by kimo_coyote on March 08, 2016 at 10:11 PM

Benn took care of busines. Paul G., is like the local bully. He acts tough but in majority of fights if he finds an equal competitor he folds like a soft shell taco. I recall his days in Buffalo what a pussy after what happened to Miller and well he is "all hat no cattle"

Posted by Hacksaw34 on March 08, 2016 at 05:15 PM

Goose must have been working construction before the game, if he was throwing cinder blocks!

Posted by DARCY T on March 11, 2016 at 11:41 AM

we know fiddler isnt going to beat gaustad so the captain took the matter into his own hands...gaustad landed a couple nice shots too but i have to givet the win to jamie for them 3 bombs in a row...and 7

Posted by kkdowning on March 04, 2016 at 08:56 AM

Benn went looking for this fight and incited it with the nasty cross-check followed by the rake down the body move. Goose obliged, but then lost the fight as he once again fails to live up to his size.

Posted by ChuckinKnuckles on March 08, 2016 at 07:52 PM

Easy win for THE best captain in the league. Benn, 7. PS, King of Goons, I'd like to see J. Toews go with Benn. That would last all of 3 seconds.

Posted by staceyb on March 02, 2016 at 07:50 AM

Clear win for Captain Benn; he took on Gaustad trying to wake up Dallas from its post-Christmas season slump.

Posted by ron28 on March 02, 2016 at 09:27 AM

Medieval? That announcer needs to punch himself in the balls for using that word in regards to what is going on in a hockey game.

Posted by ironbar44 on March 03, 2016 at 11:03 PM

announcers aside nothing landed by either ,but not from lack of effort

Posted by jcstokes on March 02, 2016 at 11:56 AM

Benn, is there anything he can't do? Guys a top three player in my book.

Posted by bigmike53 on March 02, 2016 at 10:55 PM

Benn is everything a Captain should be. Close hard fought scrap that goes to Benn IMO.

Posted by virex21 on March 02, 2016 at 12:32 AM

Kinda close, but Benn landed more bombs and didn't end up on top by accident.

Posted by rocky 1 on March 02, 2016 at 06:33 PM

Close fight actually very close with both guys landed for a Draw! Homers please stop voting you all look foolish. It appears that Behn Wilson is no longer with us all. Please bow your heads and thank the good Lord that we do not have to read his dribble any more!

Posted by BAAAAANNERMAAAN on March 02, 2016 at 07:32 AM

not to take anything away from Benn, as he is a very good fighter.......but Gaustad is such a pussy for a guy his size.

Posted by powerforward92 on March 02, 2016 at 06:00 AM

gaustad is a disaster, even top player beat him like nothing... clear W for Benn

Posted by PA232 on March 02, 2016 at 01:40 PM

Gaustad started out with the lead, but Benn wins with some high quality "cinderblocks".

Posted by paulpeta on March 02, 2016 at 10:18 AM

That is what a good captain does!

Posted by Douchelarousso on March 02, 2016 at 04:15 PM

While Jamie Benn certainly didn't prove that anything is bigger in texas he abbreviates a new point that cheaters never prosper, quitters never win, winners never quit, but punching somebody directly in the head 8 times is FOREVER. Jamie Benn with the win in the frustration fight column.

Posted by sammyslapshot28 on March 02, 2016 at 06:41 PM

Benn smoked him with the left

Posted by southiesucks on March 02, 2016 at 09:22 AM

Dallas has had the worst announcers for the past 15 years, almost as bad as Shitzburgh. However, win to Benn but closer if you turn the volume down. Keep the slump going Stars.

Posted by BruinsAllDaySon on March 02, 2016 at 07:28 AM

Jamie Benn can come captain my team any day.

Posted by von_swine on March 02, 2016 at 05:07 AM

"This one's for Vernon!" could be heard as Jamie threw his last cylinder on the way down... lol what a beauty JB is, no visor, and clearly in apex predator mode late in the 3rd trying to prove a point to a hated rival.. great stuff. tilt wasn't epic, but damn good in todays game considering the franchise player was doing the 'predation' here.. #14 FTW

Posted by sedinfan on March 03, 2016 at 01:02 AM

Win Benn for sure, but i don't think it was quite worth the orgasm that the color man had. If that is the best color man in the league like josh09 and mullet33 claim, I would hate to see the worst.

Posted by Humper on March 02, 2016 at 09:21 AM

Benn cleans Gaustad's clock quite handily in an entertaining fight that featured a nice touch of rage. However, I don't think I've ever heard such importance attributed to punches to the ear and the temple.

Posted by T-Wild76 on March 02, 2016 at 05:25 PM

Anyone else notice Benn could care less about winning the face off and just slashed the hell out of him..then cross check, can't believe he got no extras. Seemed dirty

Posted by Great Murray on March 02, 2016 at 07:20 AM

ROFLMFAO!!! Someone has successfully cloned a moron...a copy of Jack Edwards is now a talking head for Dallas Hockey. Ridiculous fight call. Benn wins the fight...He landed exactly 1 solid punch which did no damage to Gaustad. These are two of my favorite guys. No back down in either of them. They went after each other hard! Good tilt! Thanks boys...screw you Bettman!

Posted by mullet33 on March 02, 2016 at 10:10 AM

His name is Razor and he s pretty much the best color commentator in the entire league. He has created many catchy phrases from "meat candy" to today's "cinder block". He is the one announcer who truly enjoys the fighting more than some of you commenting. I will say however he was a bit overly excited during this bout but sadly the Stars don't have much else excitement going for them these days. They picked the wrong time to cool off. As for the fight, I give it a 7 for the anger intent and Benn with the edge for handling the larger Gaustad. That's why he wears the "C".

Posted by EK65 on March 02, 2016 at 10:48 AM

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AOHOOOOOOOOOHAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HE SMOKED HIM IN THE EAR! holy crap man please relax... I'll call it the edge to the honorable Captain who tries to give his team something positive to make reference to while they're slipping down the standings. Benn & 5

Posted by realbadash on March 02, 2016 at 10:26 AM

Benn likes to fit but holds back since he is better on the ice than in the box. at this point of the game it does not matter. and daryl reaugh thinks too much of himself.

Posted by woolly mammoth on March 02, 2016 at 01:18 AM

"OH. OH. HE SMOKED HIM IN THE EAR....OH. HE TATTOOED HIM IN THE TEMPLE...! THERE HAS BEEN A TON OF BORDERLINE MEDIEVAL STUFF...DRILLED HIM MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE RIGHT TEMPLE..." This announcer evidently works hard for his paycheck, which probably consists of a half-eaten can of five year old refried beans and a jar of mustard that was used in Chernobyl.

Posted by Orr Fourever on March 02, 2016 at 10:07 AM

Jamie (fricking) Benn FTW.

Posted by Walt on March 02, 2016 at 04:14 PM

Benn is a good fighter for such a skilled player and he won but .... did these Stars announcers go to the "Jack Edwards School of Broadcast Hyperbole?"

Posted by stoopid760 on March 02, 2016 at 09:55 AM

The announcers reaction is the best part about this fight. You would of swear it was tyson throwing hay makers

Posted by brianhanie23 on March 02, 2016 at 03:52 PM

Jamie Benn for the win. Announcers seal the deal.... I love me some Daryl Reagh

Posted by joshh09 on March 02, 2016 at 06:40 PM

Benn whooped dat ass. All you folks dogging the "homer" announcer need to realize that Razor is one of the best color guys in the league. I am pretty sure your home team announcers do the same.

Posted by bspray on March 02, 2016 at 01:56 AM

Neither guy did much, a couple of moderate shots for both guys. Gaustad with a close victory and a 4.
