I think Latta is a Troubaliver now.

Posted by dean94harrison on December 05, 2015 at 11:29 PM

If that isn't instigating, then why do we have an instigator rule? Nevertheless spirited scrap, edge Trouba, seemed like more landed.

The scrum on hte left was better that the actual fight, ref stood there watching as nothing was actually landing. Win the jets man

Trouba steps up and I would say makes better quality connections for the win. Decent fight for exactly the right reason.

After reading the other reviews I expected to see Latta get his ass kicked. Not a fan of either team, but it looked like to me Trouba quite at the end and Latta gave him a break. I would have to give this one a draw/Latta win. Jets fans must be doing all the reviews.

Good fight and very close so I gave it a DRAW.I guess if your a Homer you give it to Trouba !

Good fight...looked like they each landed a couple. Can't find a winner. What's up with Wilson...he seems to be missing in action these days.

Posted by captquelch on December 07, 2015 at 04:28 PM

Pretty good fight, saw it live and thought it was a draw then and now after looking at the tape. Both got in shots...but only on each other's helmets and face shields. Whenever Latta & Wilson skate on the same line it makes for great fun - Latta is becoming a great agitator and Wilson simply terrorizes people when he is on the ice. In this fight, Wilson getting the double minor was crap...

How in the hell does anyone give this Trouba???? he was crouching down and ducking the whole time! He does a good job of staying on his feet. . .but I think Latta was laughing at him, at least he had sense to tap out. . .kid needs some more experience and time in the gym if he is gonna try to fight Latta with the harder hits and control, not to mention not hiding) despite giving up reach (btw, how avoiding a player and making contact with a knee results in a game is ridiculous)

Posted by BillB28 on December 08, 2015 at 05:03 PM

It looks to me that Latta raised his elbow in anticipation of skating into his own guy and Trouba just happened to skate into the raised elbow. The outrage here is that the refs gave Wilson a double minor. Sends the refs back to zebra school!

A key member of any orchestra's brass section rightfully takes exception to a shady elbow from a passing cheap Russian car... and proceeds to mete out the proper punishment in a lengthy but fairly enthusiastic tussle

good scrap over a clean hit

Posted by Blade88 on December 06, 2015 at 12:39 AM

Nice scrap. Good for Trouba to stick up for teammate. Edge Trouba

The fight was really a minor issue since most of the blows landed on helmets. The real issue must be the officiating. Trouba was not involved, yet he started the fight with Latta. Yet, no instigator penalty called by the refs. Why? Wilson is battling with Scheifele, when Stuart interferes, yet no 3rd man in ruling by the refs. Wilson gets a double minor, but no clear reason is ever given nor is evident. Stuart gets a "roughing" call, but no game misconduct. Scheifele is clearly headed to do battle with Latta, proven at about 10 seconds when Scheifele drops some equipment and Wilson intervenes before Scheifele gets to Latta. The loser: the fans. When the refs miss the two calls, one has to question their professionalism in terms of their skill. The game dependents on the skill, professionalism, and trust in the refs. They violated this trust in this game. Perhaps it was to appease the homers. Toronto should have intervened in terms of the gross miscarriage.

I think both guys connected more on each other's visors than anything else. # Sore Knuckles and a Draw.

Decent young bout to respond to the physical play. I am a Caps fan, but there was no winner here. Simply a responsive fight.

good job by trouba going after latta.i mentioned it earlier this season.he looks like he definitely gained some muscles and took fighting lessons.he did well against player with fighting experiences.he looked like he was short of breathe at the end but he did enough to score a draw imo

Posted by kari takko on December 09, 2015 at 11:44 PM

Latta shoulda gotta latta more tatta to the face imo... Trouba.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on January 11, 2016 at 04:52 AM

Latta was pretty aggressive, but Trouba landed a couple dandies to the side of his head.

Posted by kitcarnut on December 06, 2015 at 02:41 AM

JT gets the nod.

Posted by Winterpegman on December 05, 2015 at 06:39 PM

Trouba for the W, more quality shots.

Posted by brad houghton on December 06, 2015 at 10:27 AM

Spirited scarp that was fun to watch. Always like it when players fight out of passion for a play on the Ice. Trouba went after Latta because he thought he caught Scheifele with the elbow as Scheifele went down. Edge Trouba in a punch till you have no more gas in the tank fight.

Posted by bbout2c on December 06, 2015 at 10:27 AM

props to trouba , for giving a guy like latta who does this kind of thing all the time a run for his money! trouba!

Posted by EK65 on December 05, 2015 at 09:08 PM

Big ups to Trouba here. No fear what so ever. Manages to hang in and get the edge over Latta Also big ups to Stuart for flying in after Wilson tried to mix it up with Schifele

Posted by slysi on December 10, 2015 at 06:50 PM

Trouba gets the nod for stepping in for a mate

Posted by doobi1 on December 05, 2015 at 06:44 PM

Trouba dropped the boomba on Latta for the WIN. Good battle all in all as the refs "Let 'em go"! Good game I suppose and gald to see the win streak come to an end!

Posted by Mounty in NC on December 07, 2015 at 07:38 AM

Definately a draw....both threw and landed several shots. I don't see how you could pick one or the other

Posted by kkdowning on December 12, 2015 at 09:09 AM

I am going to be a a bit of a homer and give this a draw.

Posted by bobowen34 on December 07, 2015 at 08:01 AM

I called it a draw. I can't figure out the penalties. No extra ones for Latta - did he miss on on the elbow? No instigator for Trouba? He clearly started the fight.

Posted by CrackMan on December 05, 2015 at 08:07 PM

Terrible announcing. There's absolutely no upper body contact on the hit. The Caps broadcast had better angles. Latta stepped up to make the hit, Scheifele goes down to dodge it, catching Latta's knee with his hip.

Posted by Rob Peterson on December 05, 2015 at 06:28 PM

Trouba steps up and sends a message to Latta...who won't be doing that against the Jets again. A good spirited bout that was pretty close but I'll give it to Trouba for a few more solid punches to Latta's head. What in the hell was Tom Wilson thinking when he attacked Scheifele? Scheifele is a non-fighter and was just standing there and he gets mugged by Wilson? Justice prevailed as Wilson got a roughing penalty and the Jets scored on the ensuing power play. Peluso made it clear throughout the rest of the game that he wanted a piece of Wilson for that, but Wilson the 6'4" p*ssy only yapped back and would run away. Too bad the Jets don't play against the Caps again in the regular season, because payback is on the way, and it'll be a bitch for Wilson when it happens.

These Hockey Night homers missed everything on their call, it wasn't the elbow that caused it all. It was Schieffle ducking from the elbow that ended up him falling forward into a knee on knee situation. Trouba took exception bc he thought it was an elbow, but it wasn't. As for the fight, Trouba w the pubic hair thin win, but Latta being the smaller man got in just as much quality shots as Trouba did. As for the comment made earlier about Wilson being scared of Peluso, give me a break. Wilson has never backed down from anyone, certainly not from a guy who's sole existence on the ice is to cause a fight. the double minor given to him was an absolute joke.

Posted by woolly mammoth on December 06, 2015 at 01:25 AM

Once again, Trouba plays the tuba and does so on Latta's skull. Wilson probably wet himself when he saw a menacing figure named Anthony Peluso in the lineup for tonight.

Posted by MichaelFlyers37 on December 05, 2015 at 04:24 PM

Trouba answers the bell and gets a solid win here against Latte. I think latta and Wilson are just glad peluso wasn't on the ice. Both probably doodied they pants before the game thinking they'd have to take him on.... Anygays, hopefully the flyers get a win tonight and hopefully I get Laid. Good day gentlemen P.s go see the movie Creed!
