The dyslexic Bertuzzi and his awkward fighting style manages to mount a late (awkward) flourish... but it's not enough overcome being previously out-pointed by the cheap Russian car As Eric Goddard throws a sandal at the flat screen while visiting DJ King in his Bahamian beach villa Ahhh...those were the days...sigh

Latta wanted to dance with Downie, but Downie was clearly scared he'd get his butt kicked again, so he had Bortuzzo do his dirty work. The fight was mostly even, but Latta wins it with the solid takedown.

Both guys give a strong effort in this tilt. I honestly don't think many punches landed for either guy. Draw.

latta early,bortyzzo late..draw and 6

Posted by doobi1 on February 18, 2015 at 10:34 AM

Funny, I didn't see any Latta bombs as they say. both landed some and both caught nothing but air. Good bout but my eyes see a DRAW.

"why is he punching like a girl?" - My 9 year old sister (about bortuzzo) a sad day in penguins hockey...

Latta did a good job of not getting hit cleanly. Bortuzzo, not so much.

The absolute worst most unenthusiastic group of as sholes as commentators as you could possibly have found. Wait there was a fight?

Decent scrap between the two. These teams would put on quite an entertaining playoff series. Also love both of the jerseys.

Latta beats the bigger Bortuzzo who has tends to lose fights more than win...Tootoo

A very nice and energetic scrap here. Was there anyone at this game? I didn't hear a peep outta the fans until halfway thru the fight....

Posted by Coleman775 on February 18, 2015 at 03:08 PM

Good bout. Latts wanted downie but he wouldn't go. Latts got some good punches in and an uppercut.

Posted by English_Bruin on February 18, 2015 at 11:41 AM

Spirited scrap with Latta getting over the height and weight disadvantage. Latta with a slight edge.

This whole thing looked awkward to me. Like a couple of pimply teenagers at their first dance party. Not that I can really recall what that was like.

Posted by lucic17 on February 17, 2015 at 11:31 PM

If the punches were as efficient as the enthusiasm this would have been rated higher. Good, scrappy performance by both men. Bortuzzo's expression is priceless. Had the anger translated into better punches Michael would have been in a Latta trouble. Awful, I know, but what the hell-it's late.

Downie was willing to sucker punch Hillen, but he must have remembered the beating Latta gave him last time and chickened out. Bortuzzo looks like the awkward middle schooler who is 6" taller than everyone else but can't control his arms or legs. With that said, he threw more punches but most seems to be helmet hits. I voted a draw. This was a very entertaining game. I am looking forward to them playing again next week.

Good bout!

Slight edge to Bortuzzo, but he's no Engelland, that's for sure.

Giving this a draw.... Not a lot landed throughout the fight. Latta with the early edge but Bortuzzo definitely comes on late.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 19, 2015 at 12:13 AM

Bortuzzo may have been more aggressive, but Latta landed the only significant punches to RB's face.

Posted by UnleashTheFury8 on February 18, 2015 at 05:30 AM

Latta dominating early on, then Bortuzzo comes back and makes it a little closer but still Latta. I love how Downie wouldn't drop them with Latta again after he was beaten last time and then the Pens send out someone bigger to fight him... And Lats still wins.

Some good punches thrown. I'd give the win to Latta

Posted by bbout2c on February 18, 2015 at 10:02 AM

not a lot landed ,very spirited though! Bortuzzo has gotten worse as the season goes on , big disappoint in my eyes!

Posted by Elegance on February 23, 2015 at 01:42 AM

One of these days Bortuzzo is going to get rocked so hard his career will be over, no defensive and his offense amounts to him flailing wildly. Win Latta, and its not even close.

Posted by Hands of Stone on February 18, 2015 at 04:18 PM

Latta with a solid right and a nice under over combination.v

Posted by Great Murray on February 18, 2015 at 09:01 PM

Once again the Pens have to look to the West whence Engelland has gone while another team pushes them around. The lack of a proper answer to Ovie's really cheap shot on Letang says it all. Latta pretty much has his way with Bortuzzo in this one. I predict a short playoff run for all of the soft teams in the NHL...Detroit, Pittsburgh, Tampa...talented all but soft in the middle and down low.

Posted by Justafan1958 on February 18, 2015 at 01:59 AM

In a tight draw with the jerseys clenched, Latta did quite respectably against Bortuzzo's reach to earn the win. Funniest was Downie afraid to take up Latta and needing to send out the big guy in his stead. Coward.

Most missed, Bortuzzo only hits helmet, but Latta lands a couple decent shots for the win.

Posted by AdsSection206Goon on February 17, 2015 at 09:24 PM

The smaller Latta with the easy win.

Latta landed better, cleaner shots. Clear win.

Michael Latta

2 tough dudes. good show. gotta go latta landed some bombs

Posted by kkdowning on February 18, 2015 at 01:29 PM

LOL -- Not really a Goodard vs. DJ King battle as noted by Behn Wilson (although, DJ only fought about 3 times for the Caps, maybe Brashear would be the more "active" choice) -- but Latta with the edge, Bortuzzi's late comeback notwithstanding. Not much for Pens fan to cheer about in this game -- other than Fleury being quite good

Posted by Caps44 on February 18, 2015 at 09:17 AM

Bortuzzo is clearly the instigator, then misses too much against the rookie. What's with Downie? Entire Pens team lost their cool after too many games lost this year against the greatly improved Caps.

Posted by nait on February 17, 2015 at 10:28 PM

that was an outstanding slap fest.

Posted by erp01 on February 17, 2015 at 09:25 PM

Great fight. Go caps!

Posted by King of Goons on February 20, 2015 at 05:19 PM

Bortuzzo gets beaten up again.

I hate visor fights. Pretty much a draw in my book. I miss Deryk Engelland. I cant remember if this fight was before or after the cheap shot by the roided up Ovenchicken?
