Mike Richards waffles after a glove to the chest? how much Norco is that dude STILL taking before hitting the ice? Latta: "don't hit the junkie, he's in recovery!" Mayfield: "f*ck off, enabler!" poor strategy by Mayfield costs him a cylinder to the chops and the decision in this 'fight' over drug use in the NHL...lol #46 FTW

Good heavyweight battle; Latta with a very strong finish.

Latta finds an opening and wraps up a win.

the caps are so good this year...hope you fans are enjoying it!

Mayfield is what you would call BDF - Big Dumb F*** He tries to switch or whoknowswhat and crosses his right arm over to grab Latta's right shoulder... completely exposing his big dumb chin. Latta looks like a kid on christmas and the BDF slumps to his knees like an altarboy on sunday.

now we're talkin. nice win for latta.

Posted by FHgrad99 on April 06, 2016 at 04:00 AM

Latta stood up for his teammate and popped Mayfield pretty good which earned him the win.

The smaller Latta does a nice job timing his attack and lands a few good shots which led to Mayfield bailing on the fight.

Gay, gay, gay, my sister punches harder than these 2 noyhing fight, no winner, NHL sucks.

Latta landed two good punches... giving 4, W for Latta

Posted by BennyD on April 06, 2016 at 03:36 PM

Latta with the obvious W, but geez, Richards loses his balance and goes down from a weak stiff arm.

Latte in control from start to finish!

Posted by BrettB on April 06, 2016 at 09:10 AM

Latta right uppercut, rings the bell.

Mayfield is more on the receiving end of this scrap. Latta with the nod.

mayfield barely touched richards who was falling down so i dont see a point why latta fought mayfield.4 inches smaller latta hasnt fought almost 3 months but it didnt stop him from winning vs bigger kid

Latte out muscles, out smarts, dominates til the turtle

Latta sticks up for Richards in a rare drawing in the Captials lineup. Starts off looking like a typical draw Latta is able to get the arm free and throw some nice shots to get the win. Latta & 6

Posted by busschermeer on April 06, 2016 at 12:57 AM

Mike Richards used to be able to do that for himself.

All Latta

Via RMNB: [Fun side note: Latts coming to the defense of Richards is not surprising. Richards was Latta’s hockey hero growing up. “I like to try and play like Richards because he competes hard and plays a skilled, tough game,” Latta said in his NHL.com 2009 scouting report. Thanks for sending that, @MShackapopolis!]

It took Latta a few seconds to work his way into the fight, but once he did, he didn't let up. Mayfield may be taller, but Latta is heavier and throws his weight around well.

Lats! Go Caps Go!

Posted by FA5broham on April 05, 2016 at 08:47 PM

Latta coming to the defense of Richards, takes the win in a close one until that right hook landed

Posted by ironbar44 on April 06, 2016 at 10:37 AM

a no hitter .for what was worth LATTA was the better wrestler. big zero of a dance. was hoping WILSON would finally stand up .instead of trying to go after HICKEY .BOULTON 5 times tried to get him to go.he just cowers

Posted by lucic17 on April 05, 2016 at 08:02 PM

Mayfield with the reach and height advantage but Latta with the advantage in the technique department. He easily picks apart the bigger man and gets in a couple of nice uppercuts. I get the feeling that minus the visor Mayfield would have been in even more trouble (an awful side effect of the new rules). Love Latta and his fighting style. Mayfield needs to learn a little about fighting in the NHL.

"Standing up for Richards" is the funniest thing I have read. He was not "pushed into the boards" with malice, he was pushed when Mayfield was making a clean defense play, he fell awkwardly, that is all that happened. Latte is just trying to make a case for himself to see more ice time with the playoffs coming and the teams need for a guy to actually fight, not like Wilson, who is a dirty coward who picks his spots.

Lame play by Mayfield...shove the Cap into the boards when he was already going down and out of the play. He accepts the invitation to dance from Latta and eats a big right that ends the fight. Latta 5

Posted by devilsadvocate on April 05, 2016 at 09:32 PM

And that little shove warranted a fight?! Fuuck, just close the friggin league down already, if that's the future.

Why are these videos posted, nothing close to fighting

Posted by Mounty in NC on April 06, 2016 at 07:04 AM

The hit along side the boards is a JOKE. It wasn't a hard hit at all. As for the fight, Latta turns the tide with one big punch and takes control. Latta with the win and a 5
