Orr looks tired early (again) but gets the W

Posted by smasham on December 15, 2010 at 04:44 PM

Orr pulled an Avery, had plenty opportunity to sqaure but decides to get a grip on kings arm before they drop the gloves....

Posted by Detroit_Caps on December 06, 2010 at 10:44 PM

good move for Orr by never letting King get settled, good punches landed but not much resulting for either. . . And just how is one expected to do better when they only play twice a month?

Posted by FrankLexy on December 06, 2010 at 10:50 PM

boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I wonder if Colty smiles as much off the ice as on it weak effort from DJ

Posted by Walt on December 06, 2010 at 11:26 PM

Punk move by Orr to start the fight.

Posted by brad houghton on December 07, 2010 at 12:35 AM

not much.......a very defensive fight with neither guy getting in any clean shots that i saw....by the end of the year these boys will do better and have at least one classic they are both fun fighters usually but this was a crap bout

Posted by flyerguy on December 07, 2010 at 08:57 AM

How can anyone say Orr dominated the fight? Draw maybe Orr has a slight edge but nothing special.

Posted by m4rine77 on December 06, 2010 at 10:59 PM

wow, i have no problem giving orr the win even though i'm a caps fan but that was so coward like on orr's part. he denied straight off the faceoff and waited until orr was in reach so he could grab his right arm before king even got his gloves off. you can clearly see him looking back and forth to see where king is and then drops his gloves as soon as he gets the chance. a real fighter would have gone right after the puck was dropped BUT orr isn't a real fighter so congrats on a cheap win you little girl. for the record, i am not a homer, i openly admit king lost in a disappointing showing on his part but still, pathetic on orr's part.

Posted by Les_Habitants on December 06, 2010 at 11:23 PM

Orr, he loses of course as any Toronto player does, Oui?

Posted by SgtRock on December 07, 2010 at 01:56 PM

Crap fight. A lot of shots off the helmet, didn't see much land at all. Too much hugging and not enough throwing.

Posted by MonkeyQuatro on December 07, 2010 at 08:32 PM

Crap fight. Ovechkin can take care of himself.

Posted by mctuttle on December 06, 2010 at 10:36 PM

I only give Orr the edge b/c he threw the most punches but his contact were not hard and all on King's helmet, so really of no real advantage. The announcers missed King getting the first real good hit when the fight started, though.

Posted by slapshot2626 on December 07, 2010 at 10:45 AM

DJ better start winning some fights soon.

Posted by BigBadBruins4 on December 07, 2010 at 07:12 AM

Orr had a great grip on KIngs right arm which didnt allow him to get going or do anything in fact during the fight. Hoping for a better rematch. win Orr.

Posted by slavv on December 07, 2010 at 07:23 PM

What happened to King??? Was a good fighter unitl this season. Has done nothing up to htis point and gets dominated by Orr...

Posted by st. bernard on December 06, 2010 at 10:25 PM

what has happened to king? king landed best punch of fight ,trouble is that was the only one he landed. win orr

Posted by Caps44 on December 11, 2010 at 01:25 AM

If this was Bradley or Erskine, I'd give it a higher rating; but it was King. Orr dominated, except, perhaps, for a single blow or two by king that rocked him. King was doing the defensive thing, while Orr was attempting to do some big blows, but they weren't really having any effect. At the end, Orr skates away smiling. The fight had no real purpose: it certainly didn't inspire either the Caps or the Leafs. King is capable of landing some heavy blows, but it didn't show tonight.

Posted by rhartogs on December 06, 2010 at 10:56 PM

King couldn't get it going, lost

Posted by laker96 on December 06, 2010 at 09:41 PM

king was all talk no action..

Posted by FistofFury on December 06, 2010 at 11:56 PM

King's looking like he needs better cardio Orr should have dropped off the face off rather than grab him the way he did but King should have been more ready and eager to throw. Hopefully he plays more. Always one big punch from silencing critics w his punch power though

Posted by Big_Goon on December 07, 2010 at 02:28 PM

Once again Orr had the opportunity to drop his gloves off the face off but decided he needed to jump King again. Orr controlled the fight (getting the jump on King helped), got in more shots, but King with the only solid blow. Win Orr. For the King haters, this was his 3rd fight of the season. Last year I think he had 8 compared to Orr who was in the high 20's, he will improve.

Posted by riffraff on December 07, 2010 at 12:18 AM

a letdown fight. Orr didnt want to drop em and square up after all that chitchat which it appeared that DJ was ready to do.. as the play starts orr gets in close and grabs the elbow of King to prevent any punches. kinda smart by orr but also kinda chickenshit. fan of neither also really tired of orrs stupid smirk after fights especially this borderline embarassment

Posted by mr hockey on December 06, 2010 at 10:51 PM

what the hell was king doing ,he got his ass handed to him easy win Orr

Posted by BIG AL SECORD on December 06, 2010 at 10:52 PM

THE "KING" of disappointment....so over-hyped. FART IN CHURCH...seen better fights in sons little league.

Posted by b.t.wilson on December 06, 2010 at 09:42 PM

unfortunately king just couldn't get anything going. orr takes this easily, although not much damage resulted. two monsters like this you'd expect a doozy, but no one opens up anymore, i'm calling it a disappointing 4.

Posted by hal29 on December 07, 2010 at 11:10 PM

I like how at one point it looked orr was looking at the score board or something for about 3 seconds or so and king still couldn't do anything....lol wow!

Posted by homeland on December 08, 2010 at 11:24 AM

always liked Orr since he played in Providence.....

Posted by prustneversleep on December 07, 2010 at 10:55 PM

DJ, be careful what you wish for, because you got alot of it.

Posted by The_Superhoo on January 02, 2011 at 03:53 PM

Was at this game! Loved the fight, but Orr gets the decision.

Posted by Behn Wilson on December 06, 2010 at 11:57 PM

Aside from that one power shot... total domination by Orr. King was out-smarted, out-positioned, out-punched, and out-classed by a smarter, tougher opponent.... case closed...and I'm a King fan! So much for my hope he might become the next Godard... In fact, I'm so disappointed by this ...''comeback''...that I'm done.. Luckily, BTWilson and Bgam99 sum up my feelings, exactly

Posted by filthynumber1 on December 06, 2010 at 10:09 PM

Cheap move by Orr. normally i like orr but watch the very beginning of this fight. Well King wants to drop em right off the draw Orr waits till he has a close distance and gets the perfect grip on DJs jersey than drops the gloves. thus DJ couldnt get anything going. i know that move cuz i've done it before :( oops.lol

Posted by AusTex on December 07, 2010 at 08:26 PM

King's performance kind of sums up the Caps. Looks good until its time to go.

Posted by rags1965 on December 07, 2010 at 09:56 AM

King is the biggest disappointment of 2010, yet to win a fight, definitely not the same fighter he was in St. Louis. A guy who can't win a fight and can't take a regular shift is destined for the AHL.

Posted by Bad Dawg on December 07, 2010 at 08:57 AM

King fought like a Queen!!!

Posted by brazos on December 07, 2010 at 08:50 AM

What is wrong with King? Is he hiding an injury? He has shown nothing of his past ability. The Blues evidentally knew something as they were eager to get rid of him. Total domination by Orr

Posted by tattooedkingpin on December 07, 2010 at 12:44 AM

i dont know where King was mentally during this fight, but it obviously wasnt in the fight. All Orr in this one.

Posted by staceyb on December 07, 2010 at 06:02 AM

Orr leads the dance and King goes along for the ride.

Posted by bruins rule on December 06, 2010 at 09:50 PM

orr gets the win in this fight. king has not fought very good on this capitals team.

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on December 06, 2010 at 11:05 PM

Orr all the way

Posted by bruiseyoureye on December 06, 2010 at 09:53 PM

great hit from orr on that ovechicken punk........orr wins this easily.......king did nothing.......orr clocked king with many many punches that connected solid.........easy cakewalk win for orr........king sure isnt all hes cracked up to be.....king is all hype and no game.

Posted by EastKing on December 07, 2010 at 09:46 PM

King has had a crappy year with scraps this year. He was pronouced by many as the best fighter after damaging Boogs face last year (though Boogs did control the tempo of that fight) but has not showed good form at all this year. Win Orr

Posted by briggsy on December 06, 2010 at 10:05 PM

Orr at last has showed ok in a scrap. He has not been the same fighter that he was last year. Nice for Leaf fans to have something to cheer about in the scrap department this year.....at last..........still need to see more. Win Orr.

Posted by fernben8 on December 07, 2010 at 09:30 AM

Love the way the announcers built up the intensity as they lined up... Very smart fight by Orr to lock-up King's right arm and not very smart fight by King - to not even make an attempt to get loose ! Over all...a cerebral Win for Orr. Give King a 'C minus' for effort. King hasn't won a fight this year yet ! Caps were better off with Brashear back in the days...

Posted by Pierre LaRoc on December 07, 2010 at 07:45 AM

Orr wins this easily. King didn't want to go right away and Orr basically had to force him to fight.

Posted by Ajaxechkin on December 07, 2010 at 09:29 PM

Caps Fan and Greatly Dissappointed. Orr is one of my most hated since crosschecking OV in the face a couple years back. I am hoping King punishes him, then he tries to warm his hands in Orr's sweater. Come on King! You are intimidating Nobody!

Posted by j sto on December 08, 2010 at 11:00 PM

What happened to DJ. He used to be a good scrapper.Has he won a fight this year? Win Orr in an unimpressive hugfest.

Posted by puckmuncher on December 06, 2010 at 09:50 PM

Well....its pretty obvious, isnt it?

Posted by Double Nickels on December 07, 2010 at 07:32 PM

King should try throwing some punches next time.

Posted by Bluetiedown44 on December 06, 2010 at 11:50 PM

Orr wins. Really disappointed in Orr not wanting to go until King has his back turned to him. King lands one solid punch then holds Orr's jersey, waiting for something, while Orr is throwing good punches. I really like King, but do not understand what he was trying to do in this scrap after a full minute of his left arm lock on Orr's jersey while Orr was punching.

Posted by LA KING FANATIC on December 08, 2010 at 11:16 AM

Orr kicked his ass this time around, Love the smile afterwards, these two have so many past bouts it is like the Rocky Movies...sequel after sequel ad naseaum

Posted by DARCY T on December 17, 2010 at 05:42 AM

i have strange feeling like king didnt want part of this fight...edge orr

Posted by lb1631 on December 07, 2010 at 12:38 PM

Orr clearly wins this fight. He landed more pinches. King just hugged away.

Posted by Dscheck on December 06, 2010 at 10:21 PM

King is sucking wind this year... Maybe he's worried about breaking his glass hand.

Posted by sedinfan on December 08, 2010 at 10:40 PM

King is brutal, one good fight with Boogaard and a bunch of hang on for dear lifes since.

Posted by Bgam99 on December 06, 2010 at 10:11 PM

D.J has probably been the most disappointing tough guy this year.

Posted by Sapunka16 on December 06, 2010 at 11:23 PM

King didn't want to have anything to do with him, wtf.

Posted by abcde on December 09, 2010 at 09:25 AM

Orr is not having a good year. Not very entertaining this year. Orr earns the win in this scrap.

Posted by hoodman on December 06, 2010 at 10:14 PM

D J was trying more to not get hurt than win the fight . he is seems to have trouble against orr.

Posted by Mobius666 on December 10, 2010 at 08:46 AM

I just love the ref with the stick geting all of the equipment out of the way.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 09, 2013 at 03:33 AM

Orr crowned King in that fight.

Posted by slshbleed on December 06, 2010 at 11:24 PM

Unfortunately, the pre-fight yap was better than the fight. Sadly, the Caps won the draw, and King had to use his stellar offensive skills by skating in a half circle to back up the centerman- I guess. Orr gets a grip on the elbow which is far superior to a grip around the shoulder. But then in mid-fight he is able to grab the midsection of Kings sweater while keeping the elbow grip. King has nowhere to go. He can't throw a right, and he is in Orr's range. Domi used to do a thing where he would get the sweater over the opponents head and take all the slack out of the sweat and render their arms useless. Orr's move was nearly as effective. I suggest that King should get some dish soap and rub it on strategic part of his sweater and then remember not to rub his eyes with the effected parts. King did land one pretty good shot, but its a win for Orr.

Colton just getting warmed up for Wednesday nights bout vs Engelland i can't wait!!

Posted by The_Rickster on December 10, 2010 at 06:45 PM

Long drawn out battle and the GLOATER ofcourse has to showboat a little. Guess Colton didn't decide to lead with face this time around and get KO'd!

Posted by rocky 1 on December 07, 2010 at 02:06 AM

Don,t know whats wrong with King this year but he is not fighting worth a shit! Orr who,s winning percentage the last two years is 50% at best kicks Kings Ass.Win Orr.Site starts by saying Orr dethrones King again.Who gave the Belt to King in the first place!A lot of hype out of Toronto I guess!

Posted by roaddogg02316 on December 08, 2010 at 01:02 PM

Boohoo Ovechkin got hit hard.

Posted by C-7Enforcer on December 07, 2010 at 12:39 AM

Orr dominates King again. Man I was again left puzzled by King's lack of, well his lack of anything in this fight. Orr wins easy again!!

Posted by redwingsman on December 07, 2010 at 05:33 PM

D.J King got worked by Orr

Posted by ga crew on December 07, 2010 at 12:07 PM

homer announcers. orr dominates a 2

Posted by gmr133 on December 08, 2010 at 11:25 AM

That's a win for Orr. King didn't really look liked he wanted to go, which is sad, because that's the only reason he's in Washington.

Posted by Dijo on December 06, 2010 at 10:00 PM

Big hit by Orr. Big win by Orr. Leafs come back and win in SO. A perfect example of how a big hit + fight can win you a hockey game.

Posted by muskokadangler on December 07, 2010 at 11:29 AM

Considering these guys are 2 heavy handed men this could be viewed as a disappointment.....It still wasn't a bad fight ala 5 rateing!!! I am really likeing some of the reviews about techniques !!!! Although I don't believe Orr refused I think King did... cause orr slap his stick away and King was backing up!!! I agree he got a great grip!!! Something is wrong with King and WTF was Orr doing watching himself Ala Probie winking at his boys in the middle of his fights!!!! Complete Control!!!!!

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on December 07, 2010 at 01:45 AM

Orr dominated, never gave King a chance to get going. Orr all day long.

Posted by MIXEDUPTHROWDOW on December 06, 2010 at 11:51 PM

King had a few good punches but in the end Orr gets the win

Posted by chad420 on December 07, 2010 at 02:00 PM

win Orr...2-0 vs Jason Vorhees

Posted by jcstokes on December 08, 2010 at 02:39 PM

King is a stiff. He's suppose to be a heavyweight. Orr always brings it to the table. All Orr here.

Posted by Snoka on December 06, 2010 at 10:30 PM

Easy win for Orr

Posted by TrueBlue26 on December 06, 2010 at 10:44 PM
