I think John Kelly said "Backes' head...Backes' helmet comes off."

I hate Backes, couldn't care if it was a clean hit or not, he is and always will be a loser. Nice job Ference, Backes is always hiding behind the shield and still wants to fight the little guys, usually with skill.

ference with the edge i guess. its nice when dudes drop the lids before a fight, but sometimes when a guy comes at them, they just don't have the time. i'd wear a visor if i were in the bigs after what happened to berrard, that still creeps me out. still, a guy with a visor is in a lose-lose situation when he makes a big clean hit. he shouldn't have to fight for it, but he steps up to the plate anyways, and then is still called a ***** regardless. give a little slack here. when they get run at for making a big hit they probably aren't holding up their hands and saying, "now just a minute sir, allow me the time and space to remove my helmet." come on.

Backes left his feet, chicken sh!t hit good on Ference. Backes is and always will be garbage. Horrible announces too, I would like to hear Jack Edwards screaming about how dirty the hit was.

Did someone ammend the code to include "always challenge a player who just performed a clean hit?" Backes hit was clean and Mark Stuart's hit was clean.

Backes much more active. Ference goin after a guy for a clean hit, punk move.

Backes takes out the 40+ year old Recchi and Ference comes to his defense and they want an instigator on Ference.

So Stuart takes out a Blues forward and did Crombeen get an instigator?

Hasn't Backes cheap-shotted several other "players"?

Time to take off the helmets when fighting; want to fight, remove the helmet & shield or get a game misconduct; otherwise, people will hide behind their shields forvever.
