This was a mugging--Staios was interviewed between periods and he was pissed that Backes beat up on a skill player like Horcoff. Edmonton came back and thumped St. Louis, so all that matters is the final score.

wow...edmonton really misses big-mac. would this happen if the big guy was out patrolling?who knows but if hes healthy for the next game these 2 play look out.

Backes is a beast. Might be one of the elite power forwards in the league. Not too great a fighter but you better have your head up on the ice...will punish you ...

Backes is a ***** for picking a non-fighter in this one - at the very least he could have picked Huggy Bear. Credit Horcoff for getting involved with a 'tough' guy, but he really couldn't do much. Backes can't be classified as a true fighter while he's beating on guys like Horcoff.

huge mismatch?? backes is 2" taller and they're both 200 lbs. the only real difference is horcoff = vagina
