Glad to see the Boogeyman back in action! Wish he still was with the Wild. Orr landed a couple early, Boogaard landed a few more and more damaging blows than Orr. Win Boogaard

two respected fighters in the nhl! god bless boogaard !!!

a draw no biggie here - BUT after reading reviews on this my favorite site on the web - I have to ask all - Behn Wilson who always seems to get in the first review ???? 3 years ago I got kicked out of a Long Island adult non checking hockey league - A) i always wore my #3 Flyer jersey with Wilson on the back - I was in front of the net trying to put in a loose puck - when this a hole whacks my ankles - we start to jostle - we drop the gloves - I pull off his helmet & 3 rd shot right above the eye I split his eyebrow - they kick me out - I`m still trying to get my $450 back 3 yrs later as i did not start this - BUT the president of the league states - Who do i think I am BEHN WILSON of the Flyers - that I always skate around looking to bump & start something in a NON contact league - thinking I`m the second coming of Behn Wilson - was not true - BUT who is this Behn Wilson always giving an accurate review on the action ????

draw!!

Posted by matlc on October 28, 2010 at 11:53 PM

The Boo was not aggressive at all. Orr had some energy, but the tall guy is not quick and in the same mood. Do we need an Orr or a Boogaard in an NHL team? I don't think so! Bring the real talented players!!

Posted by marccru on October 22, 2010 at 04:10 AM

Maybe its me but Boogard almost looked like he didn't want to fight, but had too once Orr dopped them (looks like he didn't drop his stick and right glove till after first shot thown). Seems like he is getting a bout of "I don't need to fight to play" syndrome this year with his lack of aggression so far this season. Anyone getting that feeling? Happened to Brashear when he came to the Rangers too.

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on October 22, 2010 at 02:46 AM

Orr was off the Mark quick but not really connecting, bogey came back with some head shots then Orr stopped it with the take down. Both fighters didn't do enough for win. So I'm going with the draw. Was all a bit disappointing in the end.

Posted by hockey_nut69 on October 22, 2010 at 08:34 PM

wow some guy we never heard of gets a lucky punch in on Orr last week and everyone thinks Orr is a bum. He is by far top 3 heavy weight in league and probably the best guy to watch fight cause he don't care about getting hit. sure he ain't the sharpest pencil in the box but man the guy as got balls Boogieman is overrated and i hope Chara gives it to him tomorrow night

Posted by tmac112481 on October 22, 2010 at 08:55 AM

very close tilt. must be a lot of ranger homers who voted.

Posted by SCOTTSO on October 22, 2010 at 11:27 AM

guess orr thought the only way to beat boogie was to get the jump on him, tryed to cold cock him instead of squaring off.smart or a low life move, you decide.

Posted by coltorr on October 23, 2010 at 04:35 PM

Orr is a demonitorr.

Posted by cory411 on October 23, 2010 at 12:16 PM

It was a draw.......... They both landed punches, Orr took maybe 2 upside the head but Boogaard cant even stay on his skates for being the size of a building.... Bullshyt to see people right Boogaard as a winner...... U probably all just hate Orr for beating down ur teams tough guy in the past...

Posted by Leaf fan afloat on October 23, 2010 at 04:24 PM

Orr landed some shots in this one as did boogie, just check out the red patches on BOTH faces after. Pretty much a draw, take down means nothing, this isn't ufc! Would like to see this one again as Boogie seemed hesitant, although I can see why as Orr beat him in their 2 previous fights in WHL.

Posted by fourpoints on October 22, 2010 at 01:42 PM

Boogaard with a couple better punches, Orr with the better leverage and take down. Nobody gets hurt and everybody's happy!! DRAW.

Posted by rowbearprobear on October 22, 2010 at 06:23 AM

Draw... If u want to call boogey the winner that's fine My wings won last night but probably got their asses kicked all over the ice I don't know-I went to bed Anyone who fights boogey has big big ones! Btw-boogey should have won this fight; he's a lot taller and out weighs his man by at least 35 lbs.?

Posted by abcde on October 22, 2010 at 07:31 AM

Orr early, Boogard middle, Orr late.

Posted by DocGomer on October 22, 2010 at 02:45 AM

Easy draw, Orr started with a big one and Boogaard followed with a couple good ones. Big shots from two big guys.

Posted by DARCY T on November 01, 2010 at 10:02 AM

when was the last time somebody got take down against boogaard?draw

Posted by Bruins29 on October 22, 2010 at 09:43 AM

How come every time Boogaard fights, people have to vote him the winner regardless of what really happened? This was a clear draw - both guys landed some rights and Orr got the final takedown.

Posted by joeye4 on October 22, 2010 at 07:31 AM

I am not a fan of either team but this seems like a clear draw. Orr does give up reach and still was able to handle himself extremely well. Boogard does well against the other huge players in the league so I would rate him at the top or right next to it.

Posted by leeban on October 22, 2010 at 09:26 AM

Draw I watched this over and over and I cant really see a clear advantage by the Boogey man. But he has some serious reach. No excuses for Orr being a smaller guy they are both Heavy weights and thats Orrs job. But Boogey man is one scary dude. And while I dont give credit on takedowns, its interesting how people who just dont like the Leafs and dont like Orr say his takedown doesnt count for anything but pull up any other fight without 1 punch thrown a smaller guy wrestles a Leaf to the ground and you guys will call it 100% victory for the player who did the wrestling. Just like everything 50% of the people on here call it from the fence 25% from the homers and 25% from the haters. Draw.

Posted by scottifotiu on October 22, 2010 at 06:57 AM

The fight was pretty even throughout until Colton threw Boog's to the ice.The only mistake Boog's made was going to the left hand instead of sticking with the right, that's when Orr lasooed him to the ice.Boog's did get one haymaker landed right to Colton's jaw,but that's how tough Orr is,especially coming from a guy who outsizes him by five inches and has a thirty pound weight advantage over him as well.Good scrap, wish they played each other everynight for that match up alone.O-6'ers all the way.

Posted by Leafs2006 on October 22, 2010 at 05:54 PM

Just like you at the hotdog stand huh " Philadelphia " Big Dog " Collins....anyway, 2 of my favorite fighters in this league, a draw, lets see Christine Neil fight anyone of these guys. Christine's big head would sound and look like a ripe tomato. Woof Woof!

Posted by pepsigenerate on October 23, 2010 at 04:28 PM

orr with the take down for the win,but orr has some scores to settle with a few contenders.

Posted by gkcs7 on October 22, 2010 at 06:31 AM

edge to orr, points and take down.

Posted by J_Bo2010 on October 26, 2010 at 01:39 PM

pfft! anyone who thinks Orr lost this fight needs to start watching golf or something. Orr landed a few good shots, but MORE importantly survived the battle against a much larger man, who would rag-doll most players in ANY league. Orr wins by a hair because he survived a scrap with the "boogie man" and didn't look too bad doing it!

Posted by Cutproof on October 22, 2010 at 12:14 PM

I give the edge to Orr for being busier at the start and getting a strong takedown. Great balls from Orr to take on the man mountain after that upset loss last week!

Posted by Spug on October 22, 2010 at 03:43 AM

Nobody did any damage, Boogard landed more helmet shots and Orr landed a few nothings at the start, can got the takedown. I can see it being called either way, but I'm giving it to Orr on early shots plus takedown.

Posted by Willy WILL on November 14, 2010 at 08:55 AM

Orr did nothing in this fight... really didn't land anything... Boogeyman with the win! Orr with the 1/2 trip at the end! Thats all he could muster up. Orr bit off more than he could chew here! Win Boogaard

Posted by briggsy on October 22, 2010 at 10:58 AM

Slight edge Orr.

Posted by Frogsmasher28 on December 15, 2010 at 05:55 PM

Pretty even fight would like to see a rematch but with boogaards injury issues i dont think that will happen this season. Boogaard has seemed to have issues staying healthy as of late.

Posted by ColtonOrrzy on January 02, 2011 at 03:53 PM

Considering the size difference, and the face that Colton Orr was the one who instigated the fight, and also controlled the fight. He, is the winner.

Posted by Buckster on October 22, 2010 at 10:28 AM

Orr with a couple early, Boogie with a couple in the middle, draw

Posted by Spinner55 on October 22, 2010 at 10:09 AM

Hugfest leading to a take-down...Orr.

Posted by slavv on October 22, 2010 at 11:52 PM

I don't like Orr, but gotta give him the slight egde. He was aggressive and defended pretty well...

Posted by C-7Enforcer on October 22, 2010 at 03:24 AM

Even fight Orr gets edge with nice take down of the mountain at the end.

Posted by arctic_chill on October 22, 2010 at 09:11 PM

orr lands 5 before boogieman knows whats going on , boogaard comes back lands a few good power shots which orr brushes off then orr lands a solid short shot that buckles boogaard , i call this one close but edge to orr .

Posted by spc24 on October 22, 2010 at 07:14 AM

Orr, nice comeback fight from engellend......... booogard is tooo big. DRAW

Posted by Clark75 on October 22, 2010 at 11:21 AM

Orr with the slight edge. We all knew he'd win. Boogaard is a Yeti! Jesus! I just scrolled down and saw the results of the votes. Are you people retarded? Orr controlled this fight, took a few but also delivered as well. Anyone see the Leafs feed of Boogaard skating to the penalty box with a nice rasberry under his right eye? Orr gets the take down at the end with a punch. Pretty simple vote I would assume. Pull your heads out of your asses people.

Posted by Fightfan2010 on October 22, 2010 at 10:11 AM

Nice win Orr. Landed more, got the take down

Posted by hsvj60 on October 30, 2010 at 08:47 PM

Colton gave em what for then he got the takedown win win Orr

Posted by PaNdEm1K on October 24, 2010 at 08:02 AM

Orr will go with anyone, least he isn't a bitch and picks his fights. Either way he goes out swinging win or lose, name some other fighters that go out n swing win or lose these days??? Examples: Orr bs carkner, Orr vs Engelland etc... Boogard is a liability that plug can't even skate let alone take a pass, make one, or get a shot on net... plummer.

Boogaard win.

Posted by Lucy Brown on October 22, 2010 at 07:32 AM

The Boogie man with the edge. Orr is lucky to survive this one.

Posted by nycbob on October 22, 2010 at 10:32 AM

Boogard looks rusty. Should have known Orr would jump right into it. Still win for Boogard. Lucic or Thornton will get the warmed up version.

Posted by staceyb on October 22, 2010 at 05:49 AM

The million dollar fighters go at it. Edge to Boogeyman for the direct shots to Orr's chops, though Orr came out much better than he did against Engelland.

Posted by dmac1983 on October 27, 2010 at 09:54 AM

Decent fight, but sooner or later (probably sooner judging by his recent fights) Orr will be seriously tagged by his opponent. He leaves himself wide open to haymakers. Admittedly, his fights are usually entertaining, but does he think that's worth getting helped off the ice like Ivanans?

Posted by bradyj4 on October 22, 2010 at 09:13 AM

Edge to Boogaard. Much respect to Orr for going with the Boogie man after he was dropped last time he fought. I think he learned his lesson of not leaving his chin completely open any more.

Posted by scooter231 on October 22, 2010 at 05:18 AM

Posted by Kaderson on October 22, 2010 at 09:59 AM

Edge Boogey. Landed 3 Orr didnt land any. Why is Orr smiling? Next fight Boogey,s gonna knock seven shades of shit out of him.

Posted by MikeVee on October 22, 2010 at 10:44 AM

Nice try by Orr to jump in before the fight started, but it still didn't work. Edge to Boogaard. Not sure what Orr was smiling about at the end, he wasn't smiling against Engelland last week.

Posted by Chet the Jet on October 22, 2010 at 09:25 AM

Orr tried to get the Boogieman early, but to no avail. The Big Booger landed the better shots. Takedown was meaningless. Edge Boogaard.

Posted by salspikes on October 22, 2010 at 07:55 AM

close fight edge to the Boogey man

Posted by cfriskney on December 01, 2010 at 11:03 PM

Boogaard win Orr just trying to hang in there...on the end of Boogaards extended arm. Lucky take down but that doesn't signify a win.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 09, 2013 at 03:22 AM

Boogaard was on top of his game that night.

Posted by iratebob on October 22, 2010 at 09:59 AM

Boogaard WIN For those of who give wins based on who falls on whom ... you are morons.

Posted by OHANLS1 on October 22, 2010 at 02:26 PM

Minnesota misses the Boogeyman.

Posted by bloodyknuckles2 on October 23, 2010 at 07:43 AM

Boog with slight win. Orr didnt land a thing but threw him down pretty good at the end.

Posted by kryon24 on October 22, 2010 at 08:14 AM

Have to give te slight edge to Booger in this one even though Colt got off first but seemed to miss (albeit barely) with the first 2 rights. It may have been a whole different outcome if he would have connected. makes you wonder on what intensity Booger was throwing those punches because a couple seemed to land on the money and did not seem to faze Colt where as Egghead dropped him. Anyhow, slight edge to the Red Oak.

Posted by aaronious on October 22, 2010 at 02:53 AM

Boogaard landed the better shots. Good scrap though.

Posted by tyrone on October 22, 2010 at 12:21 PM

Posted by HerbRaglan on October 22, 2010 at 09:22 AM

orr lost again and compounded it by trying to get the drop on booogaard.

Posted by OneilltheGiant on October 22, 2010 at 10:32 AM

Win Boogie for landing the only clean punches.

Posted by lb1631 on October 22, 2010 at 10:50 AM

No way Colton Orr won this fight. He gets hit several times in the face. The takedown was nothing more than Boogaard getting underhooked.

Posted by Jellyczar on October 22, 2010 at 02:37 PM

Boogaard is the winner...Orr fought hard, but it is all Boogeyman

Posted by jbaker3924 on October 22, 2010 at 08:19 AM

Win Boogaard.

Posted by Juha82 on October 22, 2010 at 05:26 AM

EDGE Boogaard for landing 3 hard blows. Orr jumped to Boogeyman!!

Posted by tpberger on October 22, 2010 at 10:36 PM

Winner Boogie. Close, but Boogie got in the best blows. Orr went for the quick don't let him set up approach and that saved his life.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on October 22, 2010 at 01:58 PM

Orr asked for it. he got it. W Boogie Man

Posted by HoboMaster on October 22, 2010 at 02:32 PM

Boogaard is a monster. Orr didn't have a chance.

Posted by bruins rule on October 22, 2010 at 07:42 AM

boogaard gets the edge in this fight with the bigger shots landed.

Posted by fernben8 on October 23, 2010 at 01:29 PM

Orr felt he needed every edge...even if it meant jump starting Boogie by 'surprise'. Boogie in control most of the fight , caught Orr with one solid right. I'm one who feels takedowns should at times be considered for brownie points but not applicable in this case. Win Boogaard.

Posted by sedinfan on October 23, 2010 at 07:52 PM

Jumped him my A@@. Boogeyman is just slow and stupid.

Posted by 5fourfighten on October 22, 2010 at 08:41 AM

Boogaard with the win by a slight edge. Its amazing how this totally one dimensional player got the contract he did. If not for his fighting ability.(biggest bad ass on the pond) This guy couldnt skate with Pee Wee's. His hockey skills are atrocious. He is the true definition of a GOON! Not surprising he's never scored a goal inn his NHL career.

Posted by bear47 on October 22, 2010 at 05:37 AM

Orr got in the first few shots but did nothing after that except get hit. Give Orr credit for staying on his feet after Boogy hit him with a couple of big shots. The takedown means nothing, Boogard with the win.

Posted by SombreMarch on October 23, 2010 at 01:41 PM

Good win for Boogeyman in a close fight

Posted by graves09 on October 22, 2010 at 06:52 PM

Orr got in quick but it didn't do much good. Once Boogard got situated it was all 94 until Orr got tired and took him down. Win The "BOOGIEMAN" good effort by one time Ranger Mr. Orr

Posted by Martell on October 22, 2010 at 08:21 PM

Boogaard landed. Orr didn't. Edge Big B

Posted by IrishJimbo on October 22, 2010 at 11:31 AM

Very close scrap. Boogie landed a couple of cleaner shots with Colton not really connecting because of the huge reach of Boogie. No hugging here, both these guys like to scrap, admirable considering these 2 prob have the heaviest hands in the NHL. Good tilt, glad neither of these warriors didn't get hurt.

Posted by levitynyc on October 22, 2010 at 03:50 AM

Boogey with the only 2 clean shots at 15 seconds and 25 seconds. Orr with a lifesaving takedown to get a roar from the crowd. Win for Boogaard.

Posted by ajrs22890 on May 16, 2011 at 04:21 PM

2 guys who are/were considered the most devastating fighters in the NHL since 05-06. The late Derek Boogaard wins by Unanimous Decision.

Posted by The_Rickster on October 23, 2010 at 06:03 PM

Close edge to Boogaard. Glad to see Colton is still landing those sucker punches being the straight up tough guy that he is. Keeps all of Leaf Nation voting for him.

Posted by rocky 1 on October 22, 2010 at 11:06 PM

Orr is a has been heavyweight.Going after the toughest player in the league either takes guts or stupidity and in Orrs case its Stupidity!Perhaps the leaf fans who voted for Orr can tell us all the last time he won a fight? He tackles Boogaard at the end is all he accomplished in this fight otherwise all he was doing was catching!Easy win for the Monster!Anyone who believes Orr won this fight should see two doctors the first one being an optometrist and the second being a shrink cause your screwed in the head!

Posted by FotiuNystrom on October 22, 2010 at 12:02 PM

Tough call here for me. I'm a Ranger fan & an Orr fan. I'm going to give slightest of edge to Boog for power punces. But what balls on Orr! Wish Blueshirts had kept Shelley, at least he has some skills...Boogy, not so much.

Posted by ORR TO THE BOX on October 25, 2010 at 09:40 PM

boogeyman

Posted by SgtKenney on October 22, 2010 at 12:20 PM

Boogaard with the edge, three HARD shots to Orr's face/head really sealed it for me, Orr looked okay, but was outdone this time.

Posted by Rypien-37 on October 22, 2010 at 08:14 AM

I don't get why so many people say Orr won because he did the take down, I'm a huge fan of Orr but he lost a take down doesn't mean anything, Boogey man landed more hits and with power, that being said I give credit to Orr for having the guts to fight him and he landed one or two but nothing really effective, edge goes to Boogey man on this one.

Posted by JustinL611 on October 22, 2010 at 08:36 AM

The only thing Orr did was punch him before he got his gloves dropped, and the takedown. Other than that it was only punches hitting Orr's head. Win Boogaard

Posted by Caps44 on November 02, 2010 at 06:03 PM

We don't see this kind of stuff down in DC much. Very informative to see quality fighters fighting. I still would like to see either of this nice mean men take on either Cooke or Carcillo. Boog, while slower than the old days, still packs some hard punches. Since wrestling doesn't count, the winner is Boog.

Posted by rangersfan10 on October 23, 2010 at 08:30 PM

Boooooooogey Derek Boogaard is a monster!!!!

Posted by bp66 on October 22, 2010 at 03:18 AM

Boogy got in the only significant shots and landed much more.....Colton took him down but didnt do anything else really

Posted by ragercrow on October 22, 2010 at 06:06 PM

Better punchs by Boodaard, only a tke down by Orr. Win Boodgard. Toronto... ahahaha!

Posted by EDDUBBS on October 22, 2010 at 06:21 PM

TOTAL DOMINATION BY BOOGARD! And he will beat the shot out of Orr each and every time. He tried to get the Boogetman off guard. NOT Gonna Happen! Orr got beat bad by Engelland abd is trying to re-establish himself and I give him credit for being one of the toughest fighters in the league. But he will get his ass kicked by the Boogeyman. Take downs just never count!

Posted by Punchdaddy on October 22, 2010 at 09:58 PM

Orr DID try to jump him, Boogaard with many more punches landed and much better punches at that. You get squat for a take down, especially after getting your head slapped around like a sock puppet. Win Boogaard!

Posted by teamrittenhouse on October 23, 2010 at 03:42 PM

at 0;57 boogaard lands a right while Orr was resting.. being a Rangers fan i miss Orr and wish they had kept him but DB made upf or it with this win.

Posted by Hockey97 on October 22, 2010 at 03:26 AM

That was a great a fight.. Orr gave up a lot of reach, just because Orr took him down doesn't means he won, just means.. HOLY CRAP GET ME OUT OF THIS REFS. Derek landed a lot.. I'm sad Orr made it.

Posted by Dijo on October 22, 2010 at 11:18 AM

First off, Orr showed a lot of courage fighting Boogaard. Boogaard doesn't always look so great in his fights, but he remains the most dangerous fighter in the league. Orr fought a very smart fight. He traded punches for a while and then knocked Boogaard down when the opportunity came. Seeing the big guy go down was seen as a moral victory for the smaller Orr by the fans and his team. All that said, I think it was a draw. If it continued Boogaard would have won it.

Posted by PigIron on October 23, 2010 at 10:24 AM

I gave it a draw - but I can see an easy aruement being made for Boogie getting the win.

Posted by BritishRedWing on October 22, 2010 at 06:39 PM

Did Orr start throwing before Boogaard dropped his gear? It looked that way to me, but whatever. Fight was a draw, I'm shocked that one right from DB didn't drop Orr.

Posted by redwhiteblue on October 22, 2010 at 01:51 PM

Guys, calling us Ranger fans homers doesn't work on this one. We LOVE C Orr, he's an absolute stud, fearless, warrior. This guy did more damage in his 4 or so seasons than anyone we ever had. Concussed the then Islander heavy; knocked out cold the then Flyer heavy. This guy was nothing short of awesome as the Rangers' enforcer. Watching this fight was uncomfortable at best. Called it a draw.

Posted by muskokadangler on October 22, 2010 at 10:09 AM

I'm callin it a draw.......yep! maybe could have gone Boogey man But ORR's my man!!!!!! I think it was a good fight and a super show of Balls by ORR after sleepy time last week!!!! Thats why he is SOOOOOO exciteing.....He ALWAYS GIVES HER!!!!!!!! COWARD is not in this mans Vo-Cab Juha 82 What are you watchin????? Boogard gives Orr the first shove and Orr responds and gets his gloves off first....... I can't choose between the two so I'll call it a draw. Props to Orr for going toe to toe with Booger.

Orr with the take down. Didn't seem to suffer any ill effects from his previous KO. The Dude has a serious set of NUTS don't he?

Pretty close--Boogaard gets the edge with a few more, better punches. On the flip side, how sad for the Rangers fans--first that lump Brashear in a Rangers sweater, now one of the league's most one-dimensional useless players in Boogaard? Sad.

Orr gets the jump, starts punching before Boogaard's gloves are off, and still loses. Orr loses alot, Brown can't fight at all, and Lucie Schenn gets plowed. Leafs suck.

Orr was getting beat,...realized he was in over-his-head and bails with the "take-down" move --- ( can't believe the announcer actually called him the winner - was pretty funny ).

Orr with the takedown!....and the loss.

Boogaard with some solid punches in this one. Orr realizes he's overmatched and wrestles him down, which doesn't mean anything other than he was through. Boogaard gets the win.

edge boogard, and i'm a big fan of both of these guys, I'm not suprised that it was this good a fight. so if you still think that godard, or king are contenders for the crown, you'll find out soon enough, that they aren't. since most of the monsters are in the east this year ( john scott in chi-town is the sleeper) so there won't be any more excuses.

The mighty reach of The Boogey Man wins the day yet again. Still, Orr wasn't dominated by any means, which is a testament to his toughness.

Edge to Boogaard in a very close fight.

I wonder if Orr has a concussion? anyway the man is tough...but I say he tackled Boogey to avoid the damage that was coming from one or two more sledge hammers. Tackle = win for Boogeyman.

Orr started well, and hung in there as best he could... against a lethargic-looking version of the behemoth. But once he realized that his better moments were behind him... he took the first ''bail'' opportunity that presented itself. Still, no shame in that... and guts-galore just for initiating it, in the first place... much less hanging in there long enough to earn a legitimate draw. I'll bet the smile on Orr's face at the end, was because of one, of two things ... A) he was genuinely happy to have survived a close encounter with a Sasquatch, and to have come out of it, virtually, unscathed, or B) he realized that the take-down at the end might fool some people into thinking that he actually won the fight. Either way, props for an admirable comeback after the Engelland mishap.
