Wade Belak vs David Koci

Koci does better (imagine!?), and Belak does worse...than expected.

But seeing as a draw is a win for Koci, we're all lucky it wasn't worse.

By that, I am referring to the universal acknowledgement that
a Koci win represents a sure-fire sign of the apocalypse.

I'm putting the locust repellent back in ''the bunker'' as we speak.

Koci had a bit of advantage after he freight-trained Belak to initiate the fight. I dunno, it appears that Belak has lost something this year. Another thing that struck me is the huge number of empty seats at the Pepsi Center you see from the camera angle. Were all the Avs fans away having a glass of wine?

Good heavy weight bout. Both threw equal amount of punches..Belak was running out of gas at the end but saw his rights land more than Koci's. Slight edge to Belak (take down not included).

You know I mark it down as a draw because i think number and quality shots were about equal.....I do understand how people might give it to Koci because he semmed more balanced and set......Koci must be haveing a pritty bad year if thats his best as the honers were saying!!!

Nice check by Koci and he knew he would have to go with Belak. Koci gets the close decision over Belak.

I'm not particularly a fan of either of these guys, and have made some folks angry with my feeling that Belak was seriously over rated last year primarily due to one punch. That said, I'm happy for Koci who always is willing, and takes a lot of deserved, and undeserved, abuse here. David finally gets a good win.

I enjoyed this fight. Yeah it must suck to get up and fight after a big hit like that. Both of these fighters are not great enforcers(fighters either) but still big guys and its close but win Koci..

Looked like Belak was tired and Koci was fresh. Wish the cameras would show if Koci had just come off the bench. Gave it (barely) to Koci, only a few shots landed by both fighters but he looked better as it wore on.

Koci get an edge here for the W, Belak disappoints. Homer announcers.

I heard the news on Belak and why his fighting abilities are gone. He's got a smokin...and I mean smokin hot puck bunny blonde soaking every last ounce of energy out of him night after night and day after day ... .... he doesn't know where he's going to get rest anymore ...on or off the ice.
