David Koci vs Eric Godard

Godard with the win. But Koci got a couple knocks in. Overall pretty good scrap. Thank God hockey is back.

Close fight. Godard landed better punches but it was very even. If Koci had landed one or two of his big ones that missed, it would have been a different story. I gotta say though, Koci stood his ground after a big hit and he certainly didn't get "paid back big time" in any sense of the phrase.

Godard is THE most under-rated low publicity scrapper in the league. Godard is a tough hombre. Now that he is in Pitt... he should get some more media attention protecting the kid.

I did not see the hit on Gonchar, and have not heard it was cheap, but too say Koci needs to pay all season (battleaxe), is foolish. If he was cheap, Crosby would have went out instead. But those of us that know KOci from the AHL side as well, are use to him. I look forward to the trickle down effects with Norfolk and W/B.
