I think this was the fight of McKays life here. McKay wasn't a bad fighter and Brashear was not quite in his prime yet.

brash in his early days taking on one of the best light heavyweights in the game -- clearly a draw, even though brash outweighed mckay by 20 pounds. mckay was a true light heavy - he dominated anyone under 200 pounds and struggled against anyone over 220

donald-rabbit-punch-extraordiaire-Brashear up to his usual tricks (tapping a guys head w yr fist as many times as you can doesnt win you anything!) Ive never thought of mcKay as a legit heavyweight- he lost too much, but he did ok here, draw cuz he went to his knee and got spun around at the end. as mentioned Brash was not yet where he would be in 3 yrs time.

I thin mckay got the better of it

At this point in his career Brash had yet to hone his skills. Montreal even got rid of him because of his perceived lack of fighting skills. He really improved once he got to Vancouver. I am in the minority but I love Brash and he still gets the job done.

McKay stunned him and landed better in the scrap. Most of Asshears were blocked.

Not a great fight but not awful. Quite a few punches thrown, nothing damaging. McKay takes first half, Brash takes 2nd. Solid draw.
