Zack Stortini vs Jim Vandermeer

I guess you have to be Italian to truly appreciate the pugilistic qualities of Stortini, or even Carcillo for that matter. Nice to see 'good-guy-goon' Vandermeer get another win. Where are Calgarys' other tough guys, though? This guy is actually a hockey player who reluctantly moonlights as a semi-heavyweight.

A good controlling from Vandy for the NARROW WIN in a good fight.
He was a smarter here.
They throws about same amount of shots but Vandy landed more and better.

Vandermeer won if for no other reason than the shot that snapped Stortini's head back.

stortini is pitiful. he can't pull anything together. vandermeer, a tough kid, was sloppy and couldn't get much going for this one. could have something to do with his lame counterpart who slaps better than he punches and loves to hug.

That might have been Stortini's best fight. Ya I know he looked weak, but at least he was actually trying to throw punches. He didn't look as horrible as he normally does. Give him credit for showing up though.

Edmonton really needs to sign ONE of the many UFA tough guys that are available this summer.

Vandy with the win here. Why does Stortini still fight, and why does he throw at everyone except Boogaard? Once again at the end he goes into hold on until the linesmen jump in mode.
