The two drop the gloves and square off at center ice. Stortini grabs ahold of Godard's jersey and Godard lands four overhand rights, knocking Stortini's helmet off while he tries to duck away from the punches. They go back and forth with a mix of rights and lefts, each landing a couple of shots. Stortini throws a right that connects just as Godard lands a right cross that stuns his opponent. Godard throws a right and goes down to his knees, allowing Stortini to get off two rights of his own. Godard gets back up to his feet and connects with four body shots followed by two overhand rights while Stortini tries to get free. The linesmen try to come in and break things up, but both fighters keep on throwing while they move away. Stortini throws another right and Godard throws three long rights at a bent over Stortini. Godard then stops throwing and the linesmen are finally able to move in.
