We´re missing "Dogge" here in Sweden... This one was too easy, can´t wait to see him up against some of the heavier guys! Now he´s definatily a man for Team Sweden in the next olympics! Hope he gets to play more with the Sharks ´til then.

The only reason rypien lost was cause he had his jersey pulled over his head ...If they fought again it would be different. He has to fight bigger guys cause anyone close to his size would be to easy.

Half of the people who responded to this fight must be handicapped. The only reason Rypien faired so poorly was because the jersey got pulled over his head. Any of you fight with a jersey over your head? Nearly impossible. Get a clue you clowns. Rypien can fight very well, just look at all of his fights. The guy is 180lbs but throws em' like a much larger person.

For all the retards out there, Murray has 70 lbs on Rypien, not to mention Rypiens arm was cought up in his jersey. Murray is Pu55y for taking on someone so much smaller then him. Clearly he has small testes.

Posted by sirensong on October 23, 2007 at 03:43 AM

Poor Rypien, pound for pound he is as tough as they come. But fighting a guy who's 6inches taller and a full 60-70lbs heavier isnt gonna be pretty. Rip needs to pick his battles, in his wieght class their's no one tougher.

Murray in a landslide! Who voted for Rypien, did they not notice the damage to his face and was a punching bag?

Posted by mikebflorida on October 17, 2007 at 10:56 AM

Score another win for the new jersey. Murray drilled him good but some slops for hitting when the other guy was defenseless.

Posted by SensEnforcer on October 17, 2007 at 05:29 AM

Murray moved **** out of him.Domination by Doug Murray

Posted by bombs44 on October 17, 2007 at 01:23 PM

I know some of you are gonna laugh when I say this but I guarantee you Murray will never do that to Rypien again... ever.. If they ever go again I guarantee you it will be a lot closer.. I guess some of you have never seen Rypien fight as he was arguably pound-for-pound the toughest player in the WHL when he played with Regina.

Not the fight of the year, but this guy Murray is starting to impress me a bit. He shows kind of a wild-boar-temper when the hands are lose. On the other side, that could be a problem when meeting the bigger guys who really know how to swing the fists...

Posted by Formerref on October 17, 2007 at 04:58 PM

Rypien should think twice about fighting after taking a beating like that!!

Give Rypien credit, this was one of the biggest size mismatches of last year. Murray with an easy WIN.

Posted by 68 Z-28 on October 16, 2007 at 02:27 PM

Murray and Rypien drop the gloves. Murray gets some big shots in then pulls the jersey of Rypien's head and goes to town.

Posted by Juha82 on October 17, 2007 at 06:18 AM

A total domination by Murray.

hahahahahahahah waf

Posted by headcharge on October 17, 2007 at 11:22 AM

The only way I see Rypien winning that bout was the damage his face did to Murray's knuckles... or really good acid. Absolute domination by Murray and a nice win.

Posted by FBL27 on October 17, 2007 at 03:14 PM

right as the puck hits the deck both murray and rypien square off and immediatly murray starts throwing bombs with the first one landing and knockin rypein down and then murray throws a ton of uppercuts to rypien.

My boy Murray turns rypien into a turtle

Posted by nigelneil on March 18, 2008 at 06:11 PM

Ballsy by Rypien giving up 50lbs to Murray, but he was way out of his weight class here. Murray winner all the way.

Posted by mokan33 on October 16, 2007 at 08:08 PM

Murray looked like a monster out there, compared to the kid. Total domination from a larger stronger opponent.

As a 'Nucks fan i would love to vote for Ryppy, but Murray simply had him dominated...robably one of the most onesided fights we will see all year. Cred to Ryppy though for dropping the gloves and helmet. Sox

This was David vs. Goliath, only David didn't fare too well in this one!! Rypien gets an A for willingness, but he's lucky he didn't get knocked out by the much bigger Murray...is this guy really a Swede...YGBSM!!

Posted by tristan16 on October 17, 2007 at 04:32 PM

lucky for Rypien he could have been knocked into next week.

i'm new to the san jose area and have heard a lot about murray. he looked great in this fight, totally demolishing rypien. i don't even beat my dog like that! i am a die hard blackhawks fan and am dying to see murray square off with koci.

Posted by DetroitIan on October 19, 2007 at 03:45 AM

Nice bombs by Murray!

Posted by csims on October 16, 2007 at 11:50 AM

Douglas just beat the tar out of poor Rypien. When Rypien's jersey went over his head Douglas just used him as a punching bag. Murray did say he wanted to be better at fights. The rate he's going he'll have 41 fights this year.

Murray is a Sav

If Douglas Murray loses his job as a hockey player he has a career in boxing!

Posted by crosscheck52 on April 05, 2009 at 03:44 PM

Murray was at the top of his form in this one. Rypien got bombed from the start and was in a very bad position when the linesmen intervened. I had to revisit this fight as I wasn't posting when it happened, but looking at things from a 2009 point of view: I've only seen Rypien lose this fight and one to Mike Commodore. He's a terrific fighter.

Posted by Tiburon on October 18, 2007 at 12:56 AM

Total domination! Poor Rypien had to be rescued by the linesmen. He showed guts though. Still wanted more at the end.

Posted by Bruins29 on October 17, 2007 at 10:23 AM

Murray pounded the crap out of this guy. Rypien needs to learn how to fight before he tries to take someone else on.

Posted by mikeo56 on October 18, 2007 at 11:15 PM

Murray fuh sure is da big swede - did ya see a couple seasons ago he lifted Shane Doan over his shoulder and dumped him on his ass - end of fight. Better boxers maybe but ain't many stronger than young Douglas.

Posted by Boogaard_Peters on November 12, 2007 at 02:03 PM

pathetic attempt by rypien

Posted by Optimists on October 17, 2007 at 05:58 AM

that was one a** kicking, not fight :D

Posted by lostit23 on October 20, 2007 at 06:18 AM

Ryp needs to pick his battles better- maybe save such an asswhoopin next time!!!

Posted by SJSHARK3 on October 16, 2007 at 05:59 PM

Murray tapped that a**..........Rypien got his face Rypiened open and had a huge welt under his eye before the game was over........Murray is coming up in the fight game.........

Posted by luckysod04 on October 17, 2007 at 03:53 PM

rypien got ripped by the dogg

Posted by Harley306 on October 18, 2007 at 06:28 PM

Lets see rypien without his jersey over his head.....Could be a different outcome.

Posted by CloweStaubi on December 30, 2011 at 12:50 AM

"murray is a swede and he's wailing away on the smaller rypien"... rypien got "killed" lol
