Downie with a slight edge Pens really need a heavyweight fighter

Downie was running his mouth all night. Stewart asked him to go a half a dozen times and he wouldn't budge. He finds a suitable partner in Mike Weber and they have a good angry short scrap. Draw.

Draw from watching Tape, One of those fights where I get the feeling one needed to be watching live.

Downie's first win in a fight in about 2 years. Says a lot about Weber's lack of fighting ability, I guess.

Mike Weber (& Tyson Strachan) roughed up Patric Hornqvist prior to this So I assume that is why Downie went after Weber.. The fight was decent.. Edge to Downie That being said.. Buffalo could have reacted a lot differently.. Agitator going looking for a fight with a 4 goal lead when your team is well under matched in the physicality department...

Wow, a fight with Weber that I can actually give more than a 2. Downie with the victory even though Weber threw in his patented huggy takedown to end it.

Downie holds his own against the bigger Weber ... draw

Downie was outsized and over matched but came out with the win as he landed more shots

I enjoy seeing Downie getting his face pushed in, and right now I'm not happy. Close one, but (unfortunately) I gotta go with Downie.

It was a relatively even fight, but I think Downie connected with more, so I think he gets the win. Nothing special, but sure wasn't a bad fight.

This fight was a draw not sure why Downie is leading here in votes his shots mostly don't land

Posted by Hilaker on November 08, 2014 at 10:10 PM

Downie takes a close one. Gives up some size but still prevails.

Pretty close fight Either a draw or slight edge to Down syndrome.

downie in close usually drops gloves with bigger and better fighters but he cant beat even much smaller downie

Downie with the slight edge. Both had some decent shots.

Gave the Win to Downey, the Fight a 5, both combatants a Five, and considered it not close.

Pens better find someone who's writst shot is as good as their left hook soon. Or teams are just going to take runs at them all year.

Posted by Sondrini on November 22, 2014 at 07:41 AM

Downie got the better of the shots in. Weber is just not really good at anything.

Posted by Polonich on November 09, 2014 at 02:50 PM

May not have been the greatest fight, but the fact that Downie is more than willing to step up and let other teams know they can't take advantage of some of the Pen's players is something they sorely missed last year.

Nice Fight!!! I thought Weber would take Stevie apart. NOT SO MUCH!!! Downie landed some nice rights, changed hands and land some lefts too. Good job...

Downie with a nice win.

Posted by doobi1 on November 09, 2014 at 11:07 AM

Way to go Downie. He landed at least three to every one from Weber. Win to Downie and his spirit to defend. Let's Go Pens. I liked the way he landed two before Weber hit the ice.

Steve Downie proving time and time again why he's fitting in perfectly in the Penguins lineup.

Bad camera angle but good fight. Cant see anything but a draw.

Posted by Frick72 on November 09, 2014 at 05:12 PM

A nice little scrap, both got their licks in but no clear winner in my eyes!

Posted by Anusbrownie17 on November 11, 2014 at 12:01 PM

downie actually won a fight wow

Posted by saapgh on November 08, 2014 at 09:01 PM

Downie was at a disadvantge in size and reach, but managed to jack-hammer a few on the bigger man. Weber landed the most solid shot. Downie gets the close victory imho.

Posted by LukeP99 on November 08, 2014 at 09:12 PM

Steve downie was the only one to get punches through.

Downie is to Lappierre what Weber is to Boyle if you follow my often twisted logic Doppelgängers abound! Draw
