Interesting battle. Also interesting how Henricks was blamed for going after their goalie: seemed during the game that he was pushed by a TB player.

a wild, little awkward affair. though the energy was a-poppin'. i was hoping the bolt would get uglied by mad men, but i have to go with a draw and a 6. never seen so much simultaneous throwing and ducking before. ever see that seinfeld episode where george and jerry start swinging at each other and covering their mugs sitting at the table in monk's? 'not the face, not the face!' thats the first thing i thought of. all told, a good scrap.

Entertaining draw.

A spirited one... Fair(ish) on the technicals but good intensity. Couldn't help notice their momentary back and forth with their rights, their timing was a wee bit off with their counter punches. Guys like Deryk Engelland would have been licking his chops if any of his opponent did this. There is a science to the counter punch but not many know how to use it... Gave it a Draw and a generous 7.

Very spirited bout. Both had moments. Draw.

Exchange of rights, Hendricks seemed to have the fight in hand early, but the resurgent Downie clears off his own helmet, then Hendricks and gets back into the scrap. It is a see-saw fight with rights and uppercuts by each man. Draw, perhaps slight edge to Downie but too close for a clear win.

Great fight. It's a Draw - People who voted for Downie - Hendricks landed more punches. People who voted for Hendricks - Downie landed almost exactly as many. I agree with Draw but disagree with the rating, this is a great fight

good fight, draw!

Downie showed some spunk there, though the hearing aid was knocked out of his ear. The Caps leave with a nice road W but it was great to see TB pack the arena with a sellout crowd. Hockey is back on terra firma in Tampa Bay.

Close fight but the edge goes to Downie for landing the better punches.

Downie with the win

High energy scrap between two of the league's ''less-likables''. Slight edge to Downie, as he seemed to put on the jets after that, highly-uncharacteristic, self-inflicted, lid toss LOL @ BTWilson...''It's gold Jerry...Gold''.

round 2 this season.it wasnt as much embarassing fight for hendricks as the round 1 but downie still gets the edge in round 2...gave it 6

downie gets the win in this fight.

Posted by graves09 on February 05, 2011 at 01:51 PM

Well spirited bout. Downie made Hendicks head shake a few times. Win Downie

Posted by koolpunch on February 05, 2011 at 12:56 AM

I have to give Downie credit. He landed more shots, landed with both hands and muscled his way out of trouble a few times. Could do without the cheap uppercuts at the end, but a W; Downie.

Downie scores the win here; this was Downie going after Hendricks for getting tangled up with Rolo in the crease....good fight though!

very string show by Downie!! Hes NARROW WINNEr.

Posted by garyrissling on February 06, 2011 at 05:06 PM

good scrap.

Good Fight! Good Job by Downie. Gets rid of Both Bonnets and Throws punches. Hendrick got beat for his lame "I accidentally fell on the goalie" act.

Posted by faceman on February 05, 2011 at 11:30 AM

Hendricks always gets Downie's goat by landing that first uppercut hahaha

Posted by districtmovment on February 05, 2011 at 01:34 AM

Good fight, second between them this year I believe. Less talking from both of them afterwards compared to the first fight, looks like they were both tired and maybe this fight will mellow them out, but more likely they know how evenly they are matched and will keep brawling every match eheh.

Steve Downie quickly beating out Sean Avery as NHL's most hated player.

Looked like Hendricks had the fight early on with that lovely uppercut, but Downie came back pretty strong!

Posted by pch49 on February 05, 2011 at 03:26 AM

good scrape - both did what they had to do.

Posted by durka on February 04, 2011 at 11:50 PM

I hate when Downie wins a fight

Posted by LightningDogg on February 05, 2011 at 07:32 AM

Downie giving up 25 lbs but never backs down - from anyone! Don't know how anybody can deny he took over after knocking the lid off Hendricks. Clearly he threw & LANDED more shots. The first 20 seconds were punches to the back of the helmet by both....a non-factor. Wish we had a real fighter to payback Hendricks for swan diving on top of Roli. Downie is always game but he is more valuable on the ice.
