Some choice for Hendricks, death by hanging (Thornton) or by firing squad (McQ). He chose the firing squad and didn't do that badly.

I've wondered how Jack Edwards could get any worse in his announcing and he came through in describing the exchange.

Wow, they might have killed each other if they would have let them go. Got to love the Bruins the way they stand up for one another.

MR EDWARDS promised HENDRICKS was going to get an ass kicking .except he might have won both fights or at worst didnt lose either .and i hate him and his game. BRUINS fans will claim HENDRICKS got killed .he did not .i love the way the BRUINS have each others back.old school. have to give HENDRICKS .took on the bigger guy..THORTON is much better fighter then MCQUAID .But MCQUAIDS is far bigger.

lets see take on the guy I know who will kick my a** or jump the guy I might be able to win against? Coward and Thornton's "unsportsmanlike" is a bullsh*t call.

Oh man...you've got to be kidding me Matt.
You refused to go against Thorntom and you jump McQuaid instead ?
Great survival skill...it was ' fight or flight ' for you.
Bro...you looked embarrassingly bad in this one !

Bruins fan, hockey fan, hockeyfights.com fan. I have zero problem with Hendricks. Look up his fight log. He's taken on plenty of tough guys, and by now should have earned everyone's respect. The Bs didn't like the fact that he started with Horton, and then kind of jumped him before he had his gloves off (their words), so Thornton tried to do his job. Remember, every player has the right to decline, and when Darth Quaider showed up, I think Hendricks realized he couldn't decline any longer. I probably would have gone with McQuaid as well, who is no slouch. As far as the fight- draw. Both guys landed a couple.

But please stop calling Hendricks a coward. He's made his bones.

I could care less about the fight, although it was decent, and too close to call.... The most interesting and comical part was Hendricks skating away from Thornton, as if it was Beauty and the Beast on Ice..... I was in hysterics!!! Have some backbone man, you're an embarrassment to hockey players everywhere... Then, he runs into the arms of McQuaid.... Unreal....

Matt Hendriks with the best punch of the fight but is obviously outclassed in fighting ability in this one. McQuaid is a beast.

That being said, Hendrick's haymaker that wobbled McQuaid earned him at least a draw, ...and pissed McQuaid off, to boot. If that fight had gone on fifteen seconds more Hendricks might have left the ice on a stretcher.

On a side note: Jack Edwards should probably be announcing matches for the WWE. The guy is an embarrassment to his profession and to commentators everywhere. How is he maintaining employment with an NHL organization?

I'm calling it a draw, if you watch the replay with the volume off, it's actually a lot closer than you might think otherwise. I don't get why people would think he deserved it for going after horton, horton was looking for a fight as much as hendicks was. Smarten up.

Ah, stop whining about Hendricks cowardice, etc. Hendricks already had Thornton at an unsportsmanlike and could have pulled off a double minor or a major minor if he had kept his cool and been more tactical. McQuaid must have said something about his mother.

The theatrics leading up to the bout were actually better than the fight itself. Hendricks certainly seemed more eager to fight the guy who lost practically an entire season due to head injury, than either Thorton or McQuaid. It would be nice to see him drop the gloves and square off instead of playing the jump game. McQuaid with the edge.

That was impressive. Hendricks started off good, but McQuaid took it to him later earning the victory.

I think it was a very good fight but since Hendricks ***** out from Thornton u have to give what was a draw to the Lone Wolf
