Say what you will about him...
you have to admire Downie's 'never say no' attitude.

This time, he starts out well, looking like a young Darcy Tucker,
but Coburn eventually establishes reach,
and proceeds to go all...
''Hawks-Flyers defenceman who was famous for his uppercuts'',
who's name escapes me...on him...
while Downie goes all ''Paul Baxter''..

Down ya' go Downie!

The linesman was kind enough to hand Downie his hearing aid upon entering the box. But I believe he's one of the players that the refs and linesmen won't jump in to help out when the going gets bad.

Downie started off well, but then turned into a heavy bag for Coburn

Downie actually got off to a good start till Coburn kept him out of reach...
Nice combos of overhands and uppercuts to keep Downie off balance.
It's been a while since i've seen a fighter ask the refs to save their bacon like that,
I feel the refs could have stepped in a punch or two earlier...even if it was Downie.
Smart fight by Coburn, give it a 7.

Wow, Coburn absorbs some real knuckles before demolishing Downie. Couldn't happen to a nicer turd. That was some uppercut display. Coburn and 8.

Coburn got buckled early, but steadied the knees and came back big. W Coburn

Downie biting off a bit more than he can chew, here. Second fight this season where someone found themselves in that position with someone who could still reach their head with uppercuts. Shorter guys better adjust to this and get in and hug for dear life or there will be blood.

What a scrap, Downie started well with some good shots, but Coburn come back strong and used his size advantage to finish Downie off. Fight of the season so far.

Downie Early but if you dont take a giant down early he adjusts and smokes the smaller guy usually

I give Downie credit; he stood there and traded haymakers with a much bigger opponent. Dangerous game that he had to lose eventually...

I know Kubina's a little long in the tooth, but what's with him being so soft on the guy who ran his goalie? Intentional or not, you have to make a guy pay for going to the net that aggressively....
