Shitty fight like come on guys throw some punches

Posted by Hilaker on September 29, 2020 at 10:35 PM

Now that was pathetic! Mantha had no interest in fighting Simmons. He called for the linesmen to come to his rescue and break it up. Guess his Mommy was not there. Called it a draw. Hope to never watch anything like it again. If you don't want to fight then don't drop your gloves.

Mantha shoulda knew he had to swing at someone that game. Come out with some fire and let them know you’re for real. Crawled up in a ball like the red wings franchise is doing right now as well

This was a draw all day long. Couple punches and jersey jabs by both and that was about it. Anything else and people are just voting on name. Martha didn't bail just looked tired. Not a fan of either.

Couple of punches from each. Not much of a fight

Two big strong guys. Simmonds lands some punches in the rib pads on Mantha. Mantha punches Simmonds in the head. Pretty much a draw. The announcers acted like it was related to Mantha hitting Giroux on Saturday. Giroux actually gave Manta a cheap shot first and got one back...no big deal...just hockey stuff. I give Simmonds more credit Mantha almost cost Philly the game on Saturday. Simmonds got him off the ice for the start of this game. The real question is wtf were Blashill and Holland thinking. They had to know that this was coming. They have one of the toughest guys in hockey playing in Grand Rapids, 150 miles away. Why wouldn't they bring up McIlrath for this game...hell the defensive line-up would have even improved.

Mantha hung in there, but more decisive shots from Simmonds

I called it a draw, but might have been a win for mantha because it was a draw. Mantha clearly did not want to fight (at risk for reinjuring his hand and missing more games for no positive outcome) so to come out clean I think is all he was really going for... it’s nice to see that he can still respect the game and own up for his decision (a bit of a cheap shot is the earlier game) and take the fight. Overall i think this is great hockey. (Disclaimer: Wings fan)

Mantha wanted to hold on , typical Wing.

One of the worst so called fights i've seen all year

Posted by Emer19 on September 29, 2020 at 10:35 PM

Looked like Mantha didn't want to fight and hurt his hand again. What 3 times now in fights? Need to take away the penalty for taking off your lid. Wings need to have Witkowski in the lineup for games like these.

Mantha wasn’t ready for a fight he was ready to take the punches. He knew he had to answer the bell and just tried to weather it out.

this fight was boring, only gave it to Simmonds cuz he actually threw a punch...

This isn't fighting. It's dancing.

Mantha did okay for himself. Slight edge to the Wayne Train.

Mantha landed the better punches

Posted by TOUGHFROG17 on September 29, 2020 at 10:35 PM

Pretty good tilt for Mantha. He is physically bigger, but Simmonds has done this a few times, and pretty well too, so just to answer the bell and not look out of place is good for Mantha

Expected more from these heavy weights, but this was a statement fight in the sense that Simmonds wanted to make sure that the Wings knew that the shenanigans had to stop immediately. Statement made, let's play hockey.
