Posted by Redzilla on November 27, 2011 at 06:45 PM

Good scrap but I have to give it to Purst.

Posted by BritishRedWing on November 27, 2011 at 07:03 PM

Win for Prust, but Simmonds at least gave it a try.

Posted by chad420 on November 28, 2011 at 11:21 AM

win Pruster...good close bout

Posted by travist on November 27, 2011 at 11:00 PM

good showing by simmonds...simmonds should have been smacking around the smurf avery.

Posted by muskokadangler on November 26, 2011 at 11:25 PM

Oh ya!!! 2 in one period and I have and will always say I am BIASED when it comes to Prust so if its close Im giving it to him but if he loses I will also say that to HE JUST WON 2 NICE FIGHTS IN UNDER 20 Mins......Woo Hoo and some nice rights landed

Posted by Quetzalcoatl on November 30, 2011 at 10:14 AM

Obvious win for Prust.

Posted by bombs44 on November 27, 2011 at 06:01 PM

Had the size and reach advantage? Reach advantage maybe, but you realize that Simmonds is 180 pounds soaking wet right. They have him listed on here as 160 but he is a little more than that.

Posted by atflyers on February 09, 2012 at 05:00 PM

A valiant effort and a couple great shots from both of these badasses. Draw, but props to Simmonds who's becoming a favorite player of mine.

Posted by FlyersFan6 on November 27, 2011 at 12:26 PM

I'm still trying to figure out why so many gave the win to Prust. This is a drawl at best. Both players go good shots in...

Posted by FightsOfHockey on November 26, 2011 at 04:22 PM

wow great tilt, draw way to go prust second fight of the period that is just what the nhl needs!

Posted by cppalermo on December 05, 2011 at 10:37 AM

Talk about just throwing punchs! Not a lot of defense here and much closer bout than the ratings show. Props to both!

Posted by fourpoints on November 26, 2011 at 11:16 PM

Wayne Simmons or Richard Simmons ??

Posted by IMPEACH on November 26, 2011 at 02:54 PM

Can somebody tell me why Jody Freakin Shelley is still in this League?!? Aside from running guys from behind and getting suspended, what purpose does he serve? Why is a 2rd or 3rd line player like Simmonds forced to fight a fourth line chucker like Prust? Why is middleweight Prust a better enforcer than heavyweight Shelley? Wake up, Shelley. Get an edge or get a new line of work.

Posted by staceyb on November 27, 2011 at 03:15 PM

Win goes to Prust--Simmons had the size and reach advantage but each time he tried to throw Prust counterpunched him and connected. I would rather have seen Simmons go at it with Avery.

Posted by bruiser11 on November 26, 2011 at 11:47 PM

Short edge Prust.

Posted by HMai802915 on November 28, 2011 at 03:17 PM

Prust with the "W". He connected better quality punches and it was evident that Simmonds was shaken by it!!!! Good Fight though!!!

Posted by Riomouse911 on December 02, 2011 at 11:26 PM

BP takes this over the human stick-figure WS.

Posted by tyrone on November 27, 2011 at 01:48 PM

Prust with the Win. He threw bigger roundhouses than the curve of a Chiquita.

Posted by capsfloors on November 26, 2011 at 04:43 PM

Prust 2 Flyers 0 same score of the game today..... great point by IMPEACH Hello Jody Shelly? Hello? Where are you?

Posted by Ekki on November 27, 2011 at 12:02 PM

Very impressive how Prust adjusted to Simmonds long reach.

Posted by abadjoke88 on November 27, 2011 at 11:56 AM

Prust all day. Simmons bit off a bit more than he can chew. He may be bigger but Prust shows what determination and skill can do.

Posted by flashstorm on November 27, 2011 at 05:15 PM

With the long reach Simmonds has he should have been able to control the fight, yet again Prust wins. Prust won two fights within the first period. Middleweight continder(Prust) taking on a Heavyweight(Simmonds) should be a easy win for Simmonds, but Prust was throwing hay makers and uppercuts and Simmons had a powder puff extention on his hand. Good fight Prust a solid 6 Simmonds the Powder Puff Enforcer

Posted by Behn Wilson on November 28, 2011 at 11:17 PM

Nice of Prust to help put Simmonds in perspective. What started out ''angry, and even'', quickly evolved into a superior fighter, winning out, over a superior reach. Loved that upper cut! Great scrap.

Posted by DARCY T on November 27, 2011 at 04:07 PM

good fight.edge prust and 7

Posted by Jaggedjaws on November 29, 2011 at 04:19 AM

Win Prust. Simmonds under estimated his opponent and paid for it. Prust is a smart fighter and reminds me of a smaller version of Darren Langdon.

Posted by paddyd on November 27, 2011 at 02:15 PM

Prust takes it to Simmons. FLyers still without a tough guy!

Posted by mr hockey on November 27, 2011 at 10:23 PM

Prust with with way to many better bombs

Posted by jason young on November 27, 2011 at 04:00 PM

Prust much more experienced of the 2, simmonds lucky he had 3 inches on prust otherwise he would have taken more shots, but props to him for dropping his mits even though i am sure he knew who and what he was up against.

Posted by mrunohoo on November 27, 2011 at 09:17 PM

Under dog of the decade nominee Prust shows again why he's so much fun to wathc. Gotta love the (medium)little guys. He should have gotten the extra two for tripping Gaborik. Funny.

Posted by scorp1on on November 28, 2011 at 06:46 PM

Simmonds with some glaring missed punches leaving him wide open and some early grip issues. Kudos to Prust for taking two this game. That's respect coming from a diehard Flyers fan.

Posted by BooSanta on November 27, 2011 at 11:18 PM

Prust just handed Simmonds his first demolishing of the year. Punishing Rights everytime Simmonds tried to switch up. This is usually how Simmonds wins his bouts and he had an early edge but Prust did his homework with a right ready to fly every time Simmonds wanted to switch up. I've never seen Simmonds lose this bad when he was in LaLa, so this is quite a score for Prusty. Nice of the MSG folks to give him a star at the end of the game. I'd also want to give and extra score to Prust for flooring Gaborik when they dropped the gloves.

Posted by digitalroc on February 19, 2012 at 03:22 PM

How can you not like Prust, this guy is a competitor. W for Prust.

Posted by Joceron on November 29, 2011 at 01:24 PM

Prust again shows his versatility, a benefit from the experience taking on most anyone when the need arises. Simmonds surely possesses an issue with his reach, I think Prust just did an incredible job of defending himself from the reach and finding the connections. Middle and end of the bout wins it for Prust, and an 7.

Posted by hal29 on November 28, 2011 at 11:10 PM

Simmonds isn't much of a fighter but has been doing pretty good this year. To me it is no suprise for Prust to win and to win easy. Not much of a challenge for anyone who can fight half decent. Simmonds has the height advantage but he weighs like 80lbs, so not really much of an advantage. He is easily manhandled against anyone with strength. It was a whole lot of misses in the first half of the fight but Prust turns it on later in the fight. Gad to Simmonds finally took the shield off. Wonder what made him do that/ Maybe he decided if he was going to fight more he had to take it off.

Posted by bruins rule on November 28, 2011 at 08:19 AM

prust gets the win in this fight.

Prust landed more solid hits. Got to give Wayne props for a young guy he is developing into a scrap. No showboat no cockiness just business. In time he will be a force to be dealt with, wait until he fills out. Brandon too much experience. Edge to B. P.

Posted by fernben8 on November 27, 2011 at 12:06 PM

Win Prust and a 7... Prust puts on a nice showing here. He had a good defence going and basically found a way to work under the reach of Simmonds. That one right by Prust rattled Simmonds (.38 sec) though props to him for staying on his feet. Prust is probably the best pound for pound right now...

Posted by higbee646 on November 27, 2011 at 01:07 PM

Get em Pruster!!!!!

Posted by abcde on November 16, 2014 at 05:00 AM

Simmonds ate some punches in this one but hung in there. Nice job by both men. Prust with a decisive win.

Posted by MSD on November 27, 2011 at 12:10 PM

Prust is a gem and the Rangers are lucky to have gotten him. He can play, he can fight, an all around good player and I wish the Rangers had 5 more like him, Dubinsky and Callahan. As for the fight, the pesty Simmonds was game but got hit much harder. Edge Prust.

Posted by koolpunch on November 27, 2011 at 09:41 PM

Prust shows nothing but the back of his helmet to Simmonds, while consistently returning. Eventually, it pays off as he seems to stun Simmonds at the half way point, allowing him to score a victory. Nice fight from Prust...

Posted by Mark1967 on November 28, 2011 at 08:56 PM

Good bout Prust slight edge.

Posted by gsrae on January 27, 2015 at 10:07 PM

Great fight. Prust delivered a butt whooping over a taller opponent and good scrapper Simmons

Posted by cwgatti on November 27, 2011 at 05:42 AM

"...Pruster has balls as big as the building..." LOL. Love it.

Posted by skater1 on November 28, 2011 at 07:08 AM

No rust here. Prust wins it with a smart approach against a tough kid.

Posted by skierleeub on November 29, 2011 at 09:23 PM

I would actually like to hear some reasonable rationale from someone who voted for Simmonds. Did he hurt Prust's fist?

Posted by dpappas1 on November 26, 2011 at 03:06 PM

It was even for the first 2/3 of the fight but Prust started connecting to the face and jaw for the last 1/3 and comes out the clear winner. Simmonds can take a punch and keep on fighting though.

Posted by dbakes on November 26, 2011 at 09:28 PM

Prust landed the only solid shots of this long fight, making him the clear winner.

Posted by Crowdpleezr on December 20, 2011 at 12:19 AM

Proust. Ouch.

Posted by jnc_927 on November 29, 2011 at 05:56 AM

prust is playing hurt.. back to back games.. 2 fights in 1 period.. and he wins em both.. jeez! btw, simmonds was bleeding in the pb. caught a cpl of good shots. almost forgot to mention---phily is a dirty city. it's like queens if you dipped it in sh$t..

Posted by JustinL611 on November 26, 2011 at 02:52 PM

Prust gives it another go, this time with Simmonds right out of the penalty box. Like the quick right then an uppercut by Pruster, again edge to Prust, and an 8.

Posted by sedinfan on November 27, 2011 at 12:03 PM

Man, Prust is awesome. It is too bad he isn't 6' 5" and 230 lbs, he would never lose.

Posted by pfz50 on November 26, 2011 at 09:52 PM

Prust and simmonds threw severral punches, Prust landed more shots with solid connections.

Posted by Double Nickels on November 27, 2011 at 09:22 AM

Prust clocked him hard

Posted by GreatMurray on November 27, 2011 at 07:11 AM

Almost a TKO. Prust puts a solid whipping on Simmonds. Simmonds gets props for hanging tough after catching 2 hard punches.

Posted by TommyGun29 on November 27, 2011 at 08:18 PM

pretty good scrap between pretty evenly matched fighters although Prusty is way more active. Good to see him "get" to fight 2 guys closer to his weight class! Edge to Prust.

Posted by DanHalen on November 27, 2011 at 11:15 PM

Prusty Rules! Simmonds should have given this more thought

Posted by SkullCrusher33 on November 29, 2011 at 10:35 AM

Stupid monkey this is a white mans sport and thats why u got ur a** whooped!

Posted by carchop on April 02, 2012 at 08:16 AM

I love the way the ref gave simmonds a nice "cheek to cheek" sympathy hug after he had his face so severely punished by prust .... simmonds again taking on the smaller guy, and again getting outsmarted and outpunched.

Posted by iM No Sleep on March 31, 2012 at 09:12 PM

0:36 PRUST won!!

Posted by Rockhound6165 on January 12, 2012 at 10:34 PM

Good fight. Prust gets the nod only for getting a good shot in at the end. Otherwise it was a contest to see who could hit who's shoulder pads the most.

Posted by Bosoxshute on November 27, 2011 at 09:22 PM

I love seeing banana boy lose. 8

Posted by mctuttle on November 27, 2011 at 11:54 AM

Simmonds looked in control, then Prust clocked him, and continued to do so.

Posted by Kathysmail55 on November 27, 2011 at 07:54 PM

Prust is a beast, we love him in NY

Posted by Jordybats99 on December 19, 2016 at 09:25 PM

Great fight. Giving it to Brandon Purst.

Posted by legend22 on November 27, 2011 at 12:48 PM

Not sure if Simmonds even connects at all. Nice try, but Prust shots rocked Simmonds head back.

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on November 28, 2011 at 01:50 AM

Prust giving up size and gets the better shots in for a hard fought victory.

Posted by Rags4Life on November 26, 2011 at 05:19 PM

Pruster goes 2 for 2 this afternoon in a close one with 2 clean punches straight to Simmer's jaw. Win again for Prust

Posted by FHgrad99 on November 27, 2011 at 07:38 PM

It looked like Simmonds had the advantage early with his reach advantage. Then once Prust got a good shot in on Simmonds, he was able to land a couple more good shots and that gave him the win in my book. Pretty good fight, I gave it a 7.

Posted by closer44 on November 30, 2011 at 11:02 PM

Looked like Prust landed a few more and a few better. Bonus points for leveling his own guy to get to the fight.

Posted by JeanLaValette on November 28, 2011 at 05:29 AM

Prust easily lands the hardest shots, all the while making Simmonds look like novice fighter here. And that was his second fight of the night...great stamina. Win Prust, no question.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 06, 2015 at 06:21 PM

Despite Simmonds unusually long reach, Prust managed to sneak inside and land four BIG booming rights to absolutely dominate this fight.

Posted by TrueBlue26 on November 27, 2011 at 11:49 AM

In Prust we Trust

Posted by B.C. two-hander on November 29, 2011 at 12:50 AM

After Prust landed a couple flush, Simmons didn't want to go anymore.

Posted by kkdowning on November 28, 2011 at 10:25 AM

Prust -- pound for pound the best fighter in the league this year. Great effort by Simmons, who could not use his reach to his advantage against the crafty Prust.

Posted by CloweStaubi on November 27, 2011 at 08:29 PM

all prust

Posted by imissbarnaby36 on November 27, 2011 at 01:16 PM

prust whoops simmons ass and lands 6 or 7 solid ones when givin up a whole lotta reach simmons threw a bunch but seemed nothing landed win prust who looks like best pound for pound in the business these days

Posted by Marlton on November 27, 2011 at 08:34 PM

Who on earth would even consider giving this one to Simmonds, or even voting for a draw?? These people should be banned from voting altogether... Anyway, Prust OWNED this one and he truly is one heck of a fighter!
