Rypien early, maybe Reich has better experience and was able to rally.

Posted by slavv on October 19, 2009 at 10:49 PM

Saw it as a draw. Both did a decent job...

Posted by SirYohans on September 15, 2009 at 07:29 AM

Good scrap. Rypien landed a pretty good one early. Pretty even from then on. Reich finished strong. I have it a DRAW right now but I'm leaning towards Reich. 2 for 2 Eh!

Posted by DARCY T on October 17, 2009 at 02:46 PM

reich made it a draw with last couple punches

Posted by von_swine on September 15, 2009 at 03:48 AM

Reich coulda folded up after eating a few but didnt and started lookin for revenge w/some success. nice anger behind those punches,..very good tilt.

Posted by riffraff on September 16, 2009 at 10:43 PM

i'll say draw according to effective punches landed. i'll say Reich for aggression and more thrown. i wouldnt disagree with anyone saying RR looked a little winded near the end. maybe not quite in fighting shape yet? hope he stays hungery like last year and gets himself in tiptop condition. another angle to look at this fight from is punches blocked; Rypien obviously is a trained fighter and carries a fighting defense style with him to the ice that is more commonly seen in MMA arenas. Not to many hockey fighters use their hands to block punches like RR does and did in this fight near the end when he was tired. Most hockey fighters use reach, the "look away" , and "the hug" when it comes to defense.

Great fight from some game fighters! Nice to have the hockey back!

A good close fight with Reich taking the win. Did they replace Fritz with Reich?

Posted by BooSanta on September 18, 2009 at 05:01 PM

Reich landed more all punches nice and quick though none doing much damage to either edge Reich

dorobo your smart, yeah rypien is great at defending.with what his face???he got cut open must of been from blocking those punches.reich with easy dominating win!!!!

Posted by Clark75 on September 15, 2009 at 06:17 PM

Great tilt!

Gave the win to Reich, though, Rypien covering up doesn't mean he's getting "dummied" or was done. He just happens to know how to fight and block punches. Check out his fight with Stortini last year and watch him block with his left arm and then fire right back. But yeah, he did look out of gas in this one. He can't win all of 'em heh

Rypien gets kicked out of a face off by the official and goes and line's up beside Reich. They start shoving at each other straight away and when the puck is dropped they both automatically dropped their gloves and grabbed a hold of each other. Rypien quickly got his right hand going landing a number of fast punches on Reich. Reich then came back with a few rights before both guys switched quickly to their left hands. Both guys then swapped a few left hands each, both landing but Reich seems to be getting the upper hand at this stage of the fight. Reich then lands a few jersey jabs and Rypien comes back with four more straight lefts before Reich lands a left to Rypien's body and then lands a big straight left hand that stuns Rypien and the Canucks tough guy covers up. Reich then lands two more solid lefts and the lino's come in and end the fight as Rypien is still covering up. Very good fight between these two guys but Reich clearly wins the fight. Reich clearly landed the better punches and was in control at the end with Rypien covering up, so I'm giving Reich the clear win in this fight. Clear win Reich.

First time I have seen Rypien lose, great fight, decision to Reich. Reich is a bit of a similar fighter to Rypien, maybe that is how you beat the Ripper hit him fast and don't stop. Rypien will feel that in his face the next day, lol.

Reich with a nice win in an awesome scrap

Posted by Sapunka16 on January 01, 2011 at 10:56 AM

Pretty even until Reich landed that last one that clearly got to Rypien.

Posted by Cob37Jam on September 16, 2009 at 07:50 PM

First time I saw Rypien beat, good fight for both!

It's that time of the year =D

Nice fight, just the way I like it. Throw em, and throw em in bunches, with little regard to how your face is gonna look afterwords.. Im sure if it would of lasted a few more seconds, Rypien would of been kissing ice.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on September 19, 2009 at 10:25 AM

good fight. Reich wins at the end

Posted by datafortress on November 21, 2009 at 07:52 AM

Rypien doesn't lose very often but he got dummied in this one. Idiot homers gave it to Rypien...hahahahaha morons!

Posted by mikemohr on January 31, 2010 at 10:49 PM

How can you people say Rypien won this fight? must only have watched the first 13 seconds the turned off.. This fight was WON by Reich. Rypien was very lucky the refs stepped in Reich was about to switch up. Then who know was would have happened. Please vote Honestly on here...

Posted by tnaveler on September 17, 2009 at 10:33 AM

Dude that was pretty sweet. Freaking hammer time. Edge Reich.

Posted by rocky 1 on October 20, 2009 at 06:43 PM

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on September 16, 2009 at 02:54 PM

Very nice. Rypien had the edge early, but Reich came back with a vengeance. Callin' a draw.

Posted by BAAAAANNERMAAAN on September 16, 2009 at 12:30 PM

Reich wanted it more and looked to have landed more........i'll give it to Reich................good fight though

Posted by DuffyBank on September 26, 2009 at 01:49 PM

draw - Rypien with the early connects, then reich got position and and used his strength and size to maintain his position and keep Rypien on the defencive. But The damage by Rypien early was obvious

Posted by niftyweave on September 16, 2009 at 01:05 PM

Great fight. Good punches thrown by both men. DRAW

Posted by Rynryn on September 15, 2009 at 09:29 AM

Reich took everything Rypien was going to dish in that fight, then started firing back while Rypien looked completely gassed. Rypien lost this one, though he lost it like a man--standing up and throwing for all he was worth. He should be hugely entertaining throughout the season.

Posted by EddieVile on September 16, 2009 at 08:53 AM

Woohoo! Excellent tilt. Hard to call, but i'd have to say Reich for the aggression. Not all of his punches landed (understatement of the year?), but the aggressor is always gonna look the better guy in a fight.

Posted by claire alexande on September 15, 2009 at 03:52 PM

Game Rypien gets his head handed to him. Refs saved his life in all likelihood. Impressive for Reich to thump such a good scrapper.

Posted by illukka on September 16, 2009 at 12:16 PM

great fight, i realy hope rypien stays healthy for the whole season

Posted by Rex from MN on September 16, 2009 at 09:27 AM

I give it to Reich on the stunner against a very tough opponent. Yeah, maybe the zebras jumped in too quickly, but I say they knew what they were doing. This isn't about injury if possible, at least to me.
