Close one, could give Lappy a slight edge. I called it a draw. Both guys are scrappy players that you hate unless they are on your team. I'll take 'em both on mine.

Nothing major to write home about here.. I posted a description in the forums Draw

If you watched the NY feed you would see a different fight. hollweg actually landed the two best punches of the fight and busted lappy's nose a bit. i have never seen him win a fight but he didn't lose this one which is a plus. DRAW

I agree with "JD." MSG showed Lappy in the box and he had a nice bloody Gash across his nose. Hollweg did get a good one in there, But Lappy landed a few. I gave it a DRAW with a slight edge to Lappy. I can't Hate Lappy, I remember him as a Ranger. He had balls of steel. Just look at his face HE HAS THE BEST LOOKIN "BEEF-NOSE" IN HOCKEY SINCE JEFF ODGERS.

I think it was a moderately good scrap by two tough team guys. I don't see either of them being cheap shot guys as some have written. Hollweg with the a couple of good ones early and Laperriere had a couple at the end to even things up for the draw. I love Hollweg's hard-nosed play, but yes, he hasn't one a fight since high school...but he doesn't back away from anyone either, alot like Matthew Barnaby was

Lappy with the W, Im surprised it wast a better bout both players are tough and scrappy middle/light heavys, but it looked like hollweg was just another kid in the old mans way Way to go lappy. now all colorado needs to do is keep parker dressed and thats one hell of a line if they get on one!

Hollweg got owend

Posted by slinger82 on December 24, 2007 at 04:18 AM

Hey mailman, when did he get suspended. Also, if you are going to chirp a player that has more courage then you ever have (way to beak a guy online) be right about it. One of the dirtiest "slashes" not crosschecks ever delivered by a man with a gutless reputation, and he shook it off in the media like it was no big deal. What has Simon done lately. Oh right, 30 more games the NHL doesnt want him to be part of. He may not win every fight but he shows up and does his job between the whistles.

Laperriere gets the edge here, but I expected so much more..... FUBAR!!!!!!

Posted by aces50 on December 24, 2007 at 06:59 AM

Hollweg was dominated. End of discussion.

Hollweg is a tough kid, but he is no fighter. Laperriere with the win.

Posted by mailman1194 on December 23, 2007 at 01:53 AM

I hate to say that I hate Hollweg, but I'll never get tired of seeing him gettin beat up. Maybe if he cuts his hair, he could see the punches coming before they hit him in the face. Everytime the Rangers come to Cali. the announcers have to make a big deal about him being from Southern Cal. I'd rather they keep that shit on the downlow because it's down right embarrassing. Hollweg should leave the fighting to Orr and do what he does best, boarding, charging, elbowing, and all the other goodies that get him two and three game suspensions. Oh, and also gets him cross-checked in the face.

I remember that one time in 1994 when Hollweg won a fight.

lappy with the win.....good to see him come back strong from the bum knee

Posted by Juha82 on December 23, 2007 at 03:27 PM

Lappy did better job a nice ending landing couple nice ones. He got narrow win.

Any fight where Hollweg gets whipped is a good one! What is his purpose in this league? Blow York has a goon all ready! And he can actually fight!

Another stinkin Ranger get beat up.....Thx for the X-Mas present Lappy

Posted by gilesy23 on December 23, 2007 at 09:17 AM

the fight was going good but laperriere took the upper hand at the end of the tilt

Posted by Thrashergoon on December 24, 2007 at 10:27 AM

I have no clue why the Rangers continue to waste a roster spot with Hollweg. He's a no talent cheap shot artist who's lost pretty much every fight he's ever been in. This fight was typical, seeing Hollweg suffer another beat down.

Posted by mikebflorida on December 22, 2007 at 11:14 AM

2 players I love to hate. Win to Laperrierre. Hollweg needs a haircut and a demotion. He stinks.

Posted by teabagger on December 22, 2007 at 12:00 PM

Lappy with the win. Once Lappy got the helmet off he scored some really nice punches.

Posted by buddha on December 23, 2007 at 08:28 AM

Hollweg landed a left early, but Laperriere nailed him with an hook and an upper cut to clearly win the bout.

Posted by Tso xThe Hammer on December 22, 2007 at 05:27 PM

good fight, laperriere landed more punches

Posted by nhloriginal6 on December 23, 2007 at 04:56 PM

Pretty even until Laperriere landed 3 straight shots toward the end giving him the edge.

its about time Ryan got into is "ROLE" rather than trying to be a "Gretzky" . When you do that. The coach will bench you or demote you to 4th line. or AHL. Ian does he job good, and he never tries to be someone he is not. But i bet EA sports NHL 2009 is going to be a FIGHT FEST. they tried to make 2007 into "GRETZKY-Colin Campbell" were next to nobody Droped the gloves (jackman,Regher,Brashear, all the goon suspects). the only prob. with 2008 is Glitches up the wahhzoo. . and alot of (Bots, 2 of the same player) not even Carillo of PHX drops the gloves. turn out they put him as a Fighting:Never??? yea right so his stats have over 100 PIM from last year.

Hollweg wins this fight but it was close. He put him on his @$$.

Posted by sporr on December 22, 2007 at 10:00 PM

Who's the retard from New Yawk(imissbanaby36). You probably never even laced 'em up. Lappy threw a good uppercut that connected. I was at the game and besides, we won ya tool!

Posted by Plateworker on December 24, 2007 at 04:48 PM

Draw. Lappy with the better punches but Hollweg bloodied him up.

Posted by perezj on December 23, 2007 at 12:26 PM

Hollweg should be given a skirt. This is one of the bigest cheap shot artist in the game. Good win for Ian...
