Lapointe and Hollweg run into each other near the side boards and proceed to drop the gloves. They grab onto each other and Lapointe gets in a right that Hollweg counters with a couple of short lefts. Lapointe throws a few rabbit punches to the back of Hollweg's head and they then go toe-to-toe with rapid fire punches: Hollweg with lefts, Lapointe with rights. Lapointe lands two rights to the back of Hollweg's head once Hollweg stops throwing. Hollweg goes down to his knees, but quickly stands back up. Lapointe then throws a flurry of nine straight rights with about three of them landing and the rest hitting helmet or just missing. Lapointe connects with another right cross and the redness around Hollweg's left eye begins to worsen. Lapointe continues to connect with rights to Hollweg's helmet while Hollweg struggles to get loose. Hollweg attempts a locked-out right and Lapointe gets in yet another right hand just before Hollweg is able to shake his elbow pad off. Hollweg attempts another locked-out right and Lapointe just wrestles him to the ice with the linesmen intervening shortly after they hit the ice.
Totally domination by Lapointe. Hollweg is willing but a pretty bad fighter.
Lapointe by a landslide. He landed alot of his punches. It looked like Hollweg was happy just to hold on.
Lapointe, a strongly underrated middleweight outpunches the willing but not so good Hollweg as you would expect.
Lapointe did a good job tieing up Hollweg's jersey while landing some punches. Hollweg got a few in early, but Lapointe landed much more. Edge to Lapointe.
Hollweg wanted to see how many punches Lapointe could throw. He said it was about 26.
Hollweg seems to be the tie-up king , willing to go but not a great fighter .
Good to see Hollweg Get his ass beat
Hollweg is a home hitter and a pansy on the road, and now he is getting beat up at home. What worth does he have to this team now that they have avery
Hollweg would have more luck if he actually tried throwing a punch more often than he received one. Lapointe is a good scrapper, nice to see he has'nt lost his touch.
lapointe got in better shots and contained hollweg the whole way. hollweg got in a couple punches here and there, but nothing major, and lapointe gets a point for the takedown at the end as well. lapointe was the strongers fighter coming in, and this fight did nothing to change that.
Hollweg is a no talent punk on skates. He's a dirty hitter who's destined to have his career ended one day by Boogard or another super heavyweight.
Lapointe just manhandled Hollweg throughout the fight. I wouldn't be surprise seeing Lapointe dropping the glove more often during the rest of the season. Lapointe did not connect with a lot of shots but Hollweg look really bad during this fight. Trying but not being able to stand before Lapointe who look to damn strong for Hollweg.
Lapointe kicked his Ass nough said
Hollweg was okay but Lapointe was very good, controllin this battle and landing much more. He was quite technical even in this fight, Lapointe is pretty strong guy but not so good fighter either. CLEAR WIN Lapointe.
nod to Lapointe....experience wins here.
Lapointe through Hollweg around like a ragdoll. Haven't really seen Hollweg do well in a scrap all year. He's game but he basically hangs on for dear life
LaPointe began the whopping on Hollweg and he obviously knew what he was doing so he of course won the fight. Just goes to show not to mess with an indian.
Lapointe tied him up nicely and proceeded to feed him right after right. Hollweg couldn't do anything.
Hollweg is reminding me of Barnaby---likes to fight--but gets beat up a lot.
Pretty lopsided fight there.Hollweg couldn't get free, and Lapointe was just too much for him. I went to the game last night and from where I was standing, the other side of the rink 3 rows from the ice, it didn't look so bad... Now that i saw the fight prefectly... Jesus, can somebody throw in the towel for Hollweg! I don't know how he takes such a beating day in and day out, but he still keeps going! He will always fight, even if the other guy is better than him.
Marty's hot-He dominated
Lapointe should fight more often, Hollweg is a great punching bag!
Lapointe mostly got the back of his helmet...no damage to the Ranger but only to Lapointe's hand.
Great old time fight. A pleasure to see a scrap go longer than 10 seconds, and have punches be thrown.
Hollweg is in a scuffle nearly every game and usually holds his ground. He'd be best to get to Tie Domi over the summer and get some lessons on how to punch. Seems like every time he scraps he looks to lock up in a wrestling hold, because of his short reach and lack of punching skills. He fears no one and will throw his body into anything moving. Brings a touch of toughness and heart to a "soft" team. A pleasure to watch his shifts, he wakes up the game whenever he takes the ice.
hollweg throws a couple that knock off the helmet, then the rest of the fight is all lapointe with rights, clear win for lapointe, no way you can call it a win for hollweg or a draw, its clearly a win for lapointe
Love Fest - not the Marty Lapointe I came to know during his days with the Wings. Dude has guns bigger than Hogan! Suprised he didn't throw Hollweg out of MSG.
