The Wild continue to be an embarrassment in the toughness department. They actually have Joel Rechlicz on their AHL farm club but after all this IS the Bettman NHL. Bah.

it looks like ballard spent all his energy avoiding thompson's right and just bailed out.thompson landed only bodyshots everytime i listen to hayward i wanna punch him for his immense stupidity

Ballard knew he was eventually going to have to fight, so he chose Thompson. While Ballard lost, he did not take too much damage and in fact tried a few more hipchecks later in the game.

Thomspon smoked ballard. Couple real nice uppercuts.

Thompson beats on Ballard like a big bass drum. Ballard taking out a major bag like Perry is not quite enough to remove the Capukes stink and enable one to sympathize with him. Maybe later.

Thompson destroyed Ballard. Nothing but rights, and all seemed to connect.

Nate Thompson dominates the guy who is without a doubt the toughest guy in the Mild lineup. The Mild could quite possibly be icing the pussiest lineup in NHL history. Good to see Thompson fight again. I didn't think the possible but the Mild make the Dead Wings look like the 74 Flyers........

Easy win for Nate Thompson. I didn't even realize he was still in the league.

As a Wild fan I'm embarrassed to say Ballard is about the only guy willing to drop the gloves...which is pretty much an automatic loss on the fight scorecard. I will give him credit though for accepting the challenge, knowing it was going to come at some time in that game. Sorry kkdowning, Ballard didn't choose Thompson, Thompson searched out Ballard. Doesn't matter who it was, it was going to be a loss.

All Tommie gun... big uppercuts... revenge

Complete destruction by Thompson over Ballard here .Payback is sweet is it not?Thompson sure has fast hands!

This fight went as expected. Thompson can fight, Ballard can't.

Thompson handles Ballard pretty easily... He looked pretty impressive doing so also!

Thompson made him dizzy with the breeze and finally did connect one good shot

Posted by bigmike53 on December 05, 2014 at 11:44 PM

All Thompson. Ballard plays punching bag in this scrap.

All Nate Thompson.

Not even close. Thompson worked over the body good. That punch off the shield had to hurt Ballard. Surprised he didn't break his hand.

Great to see Ballard get smoked....

MVPERRYYYYYYY! Get em Thompson! All these perry haters, love it!

Posted by doobi1 on December 06, 2014 at 09:11 AM

Ballard paid the price for his hit on Perry on his previous shift. One of the few times someone stood up for a teammate this year, and won. Thompson the win in a total beatdown.

Bye M. Ballard!! nice win by Nate

Posted by Humper on December 06, 2014 at 05:43 PM

Yeah Thompson wins, obviously. Would have been more impressive if he hadn't been punching air most of the time.

It wasn't pretty but Thompson owns Ballard by going over and under with no real plan Eventually due more to sheer volume than accuracy he eventually stumbles upon a combination that works and manges to land a couple of uppercuts Despite the one sided loss you have to admire Ballard's lack of hesitation when engaging a bigger younger opponent

Thompson puts a beat down on Ballard. But Ballard just loses a skirmish...he won the war by taking out Corey (I can't even beat Pavel Datysuk in a fight) Perry.

Posted by sedinfan on December 05, 2014 at 10:48 PM

Predictable result. Although any time you can knock a puke like Perry out of the game, you should be given a gold medal.

Posted by Hilaker on December 05, 2014 at 11:58 PM

What a mis-match. Ballard has no business dropping the gloves against anyone with any toughness at all. What an embarrassing performance. Total domination by Thompson. Wait a minute...I just found out he layed out that POS Perry. Ballard is now one of my favorites.
