Other Penalties: Burish received an instigator and misconduct; Martin Lapointe an unsportsmanlike conduct and misconduct.
Pay back's a bitch!
This isn't the first time that Ballard has done a knee on knee,,,,glad to see Burish give him a lesson...
Announcer blew the call. Clean hit. Win Burish.
Perfectly clean hit by Ballard, notice his feet are underneath him at the time the hip was delivered. Burish does his thing and proceeds to thrash Ballard. Hopefully Wayn-o prepares somebody to hold Burish accountable for his ambush next time they meet. Clear win to Burish.
Ballard has needed his a$$ handed to him for a long time. I'm sick of his bullshyt out there! Nice piece of work by Burish.
Ballard threw a clean hip check. Burish stuck up for his teammate, but Ballard would have done better had he gotten the mitts off. My money is on Ballard if it is a toe to toe and not an ambush. I'd like to see someone show me where Ballard's knee was out.
I'm not sure the Ballard could have taken Burish in a straight up scrap, but he would have faired better had he been allowed to shed the helmet...like he always does when he fights...I've never seen him "hide" behind the visor like some are saying here. I applaud Burish for standing up for a teammate, clean hit or no.
Clean hit. It was knee to knee but he didn't stick it out. I'm sure only a handful of people on here played hockey, so they have no clue what is cheap or not.
mailman and lefevre, watch ahe last replay, there is nothing but hip connecting with Skille, textbook hip check. I am tired of simpletons who have never played the game and don't have a clue what their talking about ranting on. If you make no comment we'll only think your stupid, when you do, you remove all possible doubt.
This all started with a reckless knee-on-knee hit by Ballard on Skille. Burish immediately gave Ballard the beat-down he deserved, and Ballard took it like the coward he is. Showing the utter randomness of NHL officiating, Ballard got a fighting major for receiving a thrashing (should've been a kneeing major and a maybe minor for being a coward) but nothing else, and the Blackhawks ended up two-men short, resulting in what ended up being the game-winning goal for Phoenix. ps: I love these morons like 'Buckster' who claim to have played hockey. Wannabe athletes who try to gain some self respect in the forums on Hockeyfights.com!! The word you are looking for is "you're" not "your" genius. Don't accuse others of being stupid when you have a sub-high school education.
Clean hit. There was a little doubt at first. I watched the replays over and over. He is one of the games best at the hip check. The hip check is a lost art and so hard to use - takes perfect timing - especially the open ice ones. Burish pounded him but looked like his hand might hurt more than KB's face. Lots of helmet shots.
Started of the big, clean hit. Burish did well his protecting his team mate to taking Ballard. Buris with clear win as he knocks Ballard down. Ballard do nothing.
IT LOOKED LIKE A GOOD HIP CHECK TO ME,BURISH WINS FIGHT
Burish did what he needed to do...but the hit was clean. Watch the end of the video, it was a clean hip check, Ballard didn't stick a leg/knee out. Badger dominated the Goper for a change....
Someone stated that this "started with a clean hit". I don't know where you come from buddy, but that is not a clean hit. That is a knee-on-knee hit, and a very dirty play. That kind of hit ruins hockey careers, and Ballard is lucky Burish didn't really lay down the law. I think it's comical that guys like this put hits on people like that, and skate away with their visors to protect him. He should've been a bloody mess with his face smashed into the ice. Fuckin coward!! By the way, for some of you who think it was a clean hit, Ballard's knee came first then his hip. That's kneeing. Ballard really could've tuned him up with his shoulder but went the other way.
Announcers are homers, clean hit!
Ballard got owned.
ballard should have destroyed the lil guy,, ever since bally signed his contract his physicality has waned... RECALL GRATTON...
Good call MAILMAN! You must play the game too. Totally dirty knee-on-knee hit. Although I clicked on this link hoping to see Burish get his @ss kicked from his turtling in the Kings game last week, Ballard had NOTHING! I give Burish his props!!
FED
Nice win for the BadgerHawks.
TKO!!!
no contest, just a straight beat down. clean hit by Keith Ballard, awesome for Burish to stand up for his teamate.
This was funny.. Ballard got a good old fashion beat down. I don't even think his visor helped him.. Clear win for burish. Ballard seeing stars after this one... Ballard can't fight at all... What idiot called it a draw or win for ballard. Can you see that ballard was the one that got beat, he is in the red.
id give burish the edge just because he landed a couple of punches, Most of them to Ballards helmet
LINESMEN SHOULD HAVE RECOGNIZED THE REASON FOR THE BEATING AND LET IT GO LONGER!!!!!!! Nice impression of a bitch KB!!!!!!!!
Carma!! (Karma) Not sure how to spell.
Im glad to see people standing up for rookies. I thought there was a knee but its pretty debatible. Either way Burish definetly got him down
Look at the last portion of the clip. Ballard sees Burish coming and drops the gloves. He was ready to fight and got owned. I am a die hard Blackhawk homer and I think the hit was essentially clean and I think Burish handled it the right way. The instigator rule needs to go.
If I was on the ice for Chicago, I'd have gone after Ballard too. You see a teammate doing cartwheels in the air and you go after the guy who is responsible for it. That hit was too close to call even after watching the replay, and honestly hits like that don't happen by accident. You know when you're about to level a guy and you should expect retaliation, clean hit or not. Best fighting I've ever seen Burish do.
A couple of former WCHA boys here! Easy W, Burish.
At a way to stick up for your teammate...nice job burish!
Bullcrap result on the penalties. agreed with lefevre thats definitly a kneeing major
All burish here ballard should put a little more effort into the fighting part next time or maybe keep the gloves on.
Cheap Shot! I love how he stuck up for his team mate! He beat the crap out of him!
WTF? This hit is as dirty as ever..I'm a big fan of Ballard but this is a f**** dirty hit..
Ballards a Pussy!!!!
win to burish, talk about a suck hole fight
Mailman you are out of your mind. Obviously you have never played the game. Skille has his head down coming across the blue line and Ballard steps up. Perfect hip check and if you had a clue you could watch the replay and see that Ballards leg never makes contact. Further, Burish never throws any power. You are a retard Mailman 1194, learn the game before you spout off about a clean hit.
Just a few takes - This was a clean hit period and Burish did what he should have done, unfortunately Ballard did'nt respond. Watch Ballards fights from last year, he can scrap but like someone else said ever since he got paid he hasn't been the same player. This happens to Ballard all the time, he delivers some of the best hip checks in the league period. This team needs Gratton back to protect its young talented players. Domination - Burish
what replay are you guys looking at? at no point did Ballard stick his knee out. That was clearly his hip/ass that goes out and makes contact with the other guy. Dirty hit? Gimme a break! But a clear fight win by Burish
I love a good hip check, but this one was close to being cheap...note the left leg flying out to catch him. Still, good for Burish for taking him, someone else would have if not.
Mailman, have you ever seen a hockey game before? You obviously have never seen Ballard before. Which knee did he stick out to hit Skille? There's only two, so that should be a simple answer. Point out at what second mark on the replay it was. Other than you and the announcer, no one else saw a knee, and even he backed down at the end. That was a perfect, clean hip check. Skille had his head down and wasn't ready, so that's on him. Ballard did nothing wrong, so he probably wasn't expecting to get jumped. Ballard fights all comers, including big guys like Brendan Witt, Iginla, Anson Carter, and Lecavalier, and the first thing he does is take off the helmet. I'd like you to point out a fight in which Ballard is the only guy wearing a shield. I'm a Hawk fan, but I've been to many Coyote games and Ballard is a throwback, who hits and fights with class.
I'd take that instigator too. Cheap shot's like that can end a career.
Ballard answered the bell.....now if only he could throw a punch!
Burish laid down the law after a questionable hit. Ballard knew it was coming but could do nothing to stop the beating.
Ballard got owned in this one... no other explanation....just was not ready or willing ehough in this melee.
I have to stand up for Ballard a little here. The Phoenix broadcast of this game replayed that hit many more times and from many more angles than the Chicago broadcast that this was recorded from. It was a legitimate hip check, a clean hit, but I don't blame Burish for thinking otherwise and he acted accordingly. He did what any teammate should do in a situation like that and made Ballard look pretty pathetic. Fight goes to Burish! (obviously)
Nice job by Burish to stick up for his guy. Will somebody please tell Dan Kelly that he's a terrible announcer and should retire now.
Ballard was just absorbing....
destroyed
Burish is a punk. Ballard is the master of the hip check. Good clean hit. Burish just wants to pick on the little guys.
