Great fight, we could debate forever on who won, so I will go the non homer route and call it a draw. That is like a knockout for my Canucks as draws don't happen very often

Posted by ISYSpanther on January 07, 2012 at 09:10 PM

Dale Weise should be suspended for 8 games for punching a guy that has recently returned from a concussion. Again, I am using the wording of Boston fans in describing Nathan Horton. Referees and Linesmen need to pull their heads out of their asses for Canucks/Bruins games. Not being strict in the enforcement of penalties will result only in constant cheapshots. Didn't they learn ANYTHING from the cup? When these 2 teams play, the penalties should be final and the teams cannot challenge them. It is quite obvious that both teams and their fans despise each other (judging by the vulgar comments directed towards the other by both sides). I am going to say DRAW. Because when the Bruins and Canucks play, the rest of hockey fans lose.

Posted by shrk33 on January 09, 2012 at 10:02 PM

If the Canucks emptied the bench, I think the Bruins on the ice could have still taken them. .

I feel bad for Vancouver fans...being forced to root for this pussy, disgraceful franchise. From the GM down. Very few respectable characters can be found.

Posted by leeban on January 07, 2012 at 03:05 PM

Draw cant give this to anyone. Bieksa is lucky that he shut his mouth and didnt try to fight when Lucic grabbed him. Burrows still trying to act tough while Chara has him. Just once it would be nice to see someone just hit Burrows he will never drop the gloves so just hit him.

Nice helicopter angle of the fight, there Hitchcock... Great old school ambiance, as Weise comes as close as he'll probably ever get to a win... by battling Horton to a lengthy draw.

Posted by hal29 on January 07, 2012 at 08:14 PM

Stacyb did you actually watch the game? Because I couls swear it was 5 guys on Thornton. I guess you didn't see Lappiere leap in. The only reason the Bruins cam in was because there were 5 guys on Thornton. Yes 5 Canucks on Thornton, Now 5 Bruins on Burrows. Not sure how your vision is but your description sucks. Lucic was rightfully tossed out? Again you are wrong because Lucic shouldn't of been and is now applogized by the NHL for being wrongfully ejected out of the game as he was legally on the ice. Just because you don't like the Bruins you don't need to make shit up. If you can explain to me why he was rightfully kicked out of the game which he was as he was just in the pile then I will take my words back. What Lappiere did was far worse. Lappiere speared Thornton. 5 guys on Thornton and Lucic comes in to the aid and he deserves to be kicked out. He was on the ice and was on the ice legally. Even the NHL seen that. From reports fron hockey night in Canada Lappiere may be looking at a suspension. Clowe he won't get 10 games. NHL has alreadt announced that. Lucic was legally on the ice as he never went or got off the bench. He was not on the ice illegally. According to the NHL Lucic should have never been thrwon out of the game. Benny did you pay attention. Lucic never had Bieksa, Chara had Bieksa and Bieksa didn't want to fight anyone. Lucic grabbed Bieksa because he jumped Chara. Oh and jackass did you notice Lucic jumped in because Chara had Burrows and Bieksa jumped in on Chara's back. So Lucic did the right thing getting Bieksa off Chara's back. Chara had two guys. How do these announcers figure that Lappiere was replacing Sedin? Sedin was right there and Lappiere cam from the other side of the rink. Vancouver had 7 guys on the ice. According to Hockey night and Canada Marchand, Burrows and Lappiere maybe facing suspensions and Lucic has been cleared of any penalty time and was wrongfully ejected from the game. As for him grabbing Bieksa Chara was engaged with Burrows and Bieksa jumped on Chara so Lucic cam to Chara's defense. If anyone is a pussy it is Burrows, Lappiere, and Bieksa. Bieksa talks alot of game but can never back it up. Oh and some let Bieksa know he has dirt under his chin. Mr. Nasty you serious? Or are just ignorant and a fucking moron. Burrows jabbed his stick at Thornton's face in plain view how did you not see that. You must have your douche bag goggles on. Not suprising though. A slash is different from spear but I guess in your book a little slash is worse. You should change your name to Mr. Bitch. Oh and by the way the reason Thornton went after Burrows was because Burrows actually started it by slashing Paille as he was going to the bench. HAHA coming from a guy with a name as (oneknightstand) your point is very stupid at best. You make no sense and your sn just shows how much class and intelligence you show. Have some class, what are you 12 with that douche bag sn? J landry Vancouver doesn't have anyone who will shut up Lucic. You can combine Vncouvers toughness and still isn't enough to take Lucic. I highly doubt this Mncari guy would take Lucic. I seen him fight and he is as worth of a fight with a guy like Horton or Boychuck.

Posted by beowulf37 on January 08, 2012 at 10:22 AM

Bruin bully boys ganging up on Burrows? Wait. What? I guess that shot of Burrows swinging his stick (his only defense besides his teeth) didn't make an impression on staceyb. Or the shot of 6 Canucks jumping on Thornton? Also, that "rightful" tossing of Lucic has been recinded. Alas and alack. Disgraceful display of manning up by the Canucks from the drop of the puck to the last horn. They'll take their two points and talk tough all the way out of town. I haven't seen any rioting in Van this morning, so all is good.

Posted by TommyGun29 on January 08, 2012 at 08:39 PM

"Old time hockey!! Eddie Shore! Hit'em, stick'em, phuk'em!" Love it! When teams hate each other, the game is the most exciting! Now to this fight - I'm calling this a draw. Nice angry looking scrap, Horton dropped Wuss once and scored the take down. Wuss may have landed a couple more shots but nothing really damaging.

Posted by theSDauncey on January 07, 2012 at 05:37 PM

Good old mini brawl. draw. good on thornton for starting it and bringing us viewers many happy minutes of viewing

Posted by Jellyczar on January 07, 2012 at 04:01 PM

Vancouver pansies..... chokers and weasels ... got their just do ..... they should get new uniforms that have slips on underneath.... pathetic.

Posted by lbx28 on January 07, 2012 at 06:40 PM

weise is a great addition to vancouver, another spineless douche. he looked real manly running away from thornton after agreeing to fight, what a puke. does vancouver give guys a douche bag test before they draft them? trevor linden, stan smyl and tiger williams must be ashamed to have played for that organization. its a slap in the face to all the good, honest hard working guys who have played for them and there is alot of them.kinda of what has happened in montreal, take all that great tradition and class and just throw it away. wonder what the rocket would think of the habs now.

Posted by lb1631 on January 09, 2012 at 08:15 PM

Draw...... Thats it

Posted by tonydomi1 on January 08, 2012 at 10:37 AM

Great spirited scrap!!! Too close to call a winner so I'm going with a draw. Both combatants landed some quality shots and went for what seemed like forever!! Up to this point, I thought Weise was a punching bag... But he hung in there and threw some bombs against a tough Horton! Way to go kid... Great intensity in this Lord Stanley Cup rematch with two teams that thoroughly despise each other...

Posted by icebreaker2 on January 08, 2012 at 09:04 AM

Calling this a draw but still it was fairly entertaining. Weise leads the Canucks in fighting majors and Horton's is pretty far down the Bruins list in terms of guys that drop 'em but so that probably makes it a fair match-up. Apparently no-one on Vancouver grew a pair over the summer as they still tend to run away like a bunch of girls unless they can attack someone with numbers. How many Canucks does it take to beat Shawn Thornton? Nobody really knows because they can only dress 20 guys and it seems that's not enough. I would be embarrassed to call the Canucks my team!

Posted by NuksLvr20 on January 07, 2012 at 04:17 PM

Love the Nuks but seeing Bieksa stand there like a cub scout is tough. Perhaps he said "please don't hit me" when Chara or Lucic grabbed him. I'm sure if Marchand, Bergeron and Krejci were on the ice he would have been the toughest hombre out there. Sure puts KB is his place of non to middle tough guys in NHL. He would be an all star if he was tough ALL the time and not in spots depending on who is out there.

Posted by dontpokeTheBear on January 08, 2012 at 09:58 AM

Good clean battle but, this team is the biggest bunch of pussies ever. They should switch their name to the TURTLES! Weise should be suspended for being a shameful puke when he wouldn't engage Thornton.

Posted by taroof34 on March 01, 2012 at 12:28 AM

Pretty decent scrap. Called it a draw, but with a slight edge to Weise, from what you could actually see. Of course, at the end, you have a scumbag like "Moron LaChooch" jumping a guy whose bent over, and getting him in a headlock. Typical Bruin garbage. Real class acts, those bums are.

Posted by NSalBB91 on March 05, 2013 at 04:28 AM

Its a Draw. I feel if this was a staged , 1 on 1 fight without any side business , Horton would have taken the win after 40 seconds which is longer than a normal fight. But it seems like Weise realizes that there is only 1 ref watching them which means its not getting broken up, so he gets a bolt of energy and starts scrapping hard , which made it a easy call draw. P.S Weise is still the biggest Vagina for backing down to Thornton later on in this game.

Posted by BennyD on January 07, 2012 at 06:10 PM

Nice to see 2 willing guys go at 1 on 1. Couldn't really see if anyone took a clear decision so I gave it a draw. Starting to see that Lucic is quickly gaining A-hole status. Had to grab Bieksa around the neck like that? Could've pulled him out and went at it face to face. Too many Dale Hunter type tactics.

Posted by majik317 on January 07, 2012 at 09:39 PM

It's funny how everyone had their gloves off except Kevin Bieksa. I guess the Stalberg-Marleau-Dubinsky line wasn't out there. If you listen real close, you can hear Bieksa say "Uncle, Uncle", when Lucic has him in headlock.

Posted by Sasky001 on January 08, 2012 at 01:22 AM

The Canucks in a nutshell. Burrows spears Thornton then runs while 4 of his team mates jump in on the fight. The Sedin runs to the bench. Bieska pooped his pants when Chara grabbed him. Hilarious. Too bad Thomas didn't skate down and pump Luongo's tires. Good scrap between Weise and Horton. Draw.

Posted by braindog1017 on January 08, 2012 at 11:27 AM

spirited draw

Posted by kimo_coyote on January 07, 2012 at 10:52 PM

Posted by deadeyedeuce on January 07, 2012 at 10:52 PM

A good tilt. Both threw them pretty well. Thornton of course initiated the whole thing but Bruin fans will find him innocent as usual. Lucic, has to resort to this sort of thing because he's a plug on the ice. I feel sorry for Kreijci having to play between Milan and Horton.

Posted by Mr. Nasty on January 07, 2012 at 04:29 PM

LOL, Burrows didn't spear Thornton in the throat...learn what a spear is. Thornton started it all with the 2-hand slash...but I guess that is ok?

Posted by FHgrad99 on January 08, 2012 at 01:21 AM

This was quite a scene where people were jumping into a pile and then a heck of a fight broke out between Weise and Horton. They covered a lot of ground in their fight with both guys throwing and landed. I think Weise landed more and I gave him the win in a good fight. I gave it an 8. If Jack Edwards was calling this he would have either had an orgasm or a heart attack.

Posted by CloweStaubi on January 07, 2012 at 04:29 PM

Weisel wins a surprising bout against Horton... will Lucic get a 10 game suspension for leaving the bench?

Posted by Double Nickels on January 08, 2012 at 04:42 AM

Tough to call it from this video--looks like Wiese when it's in close and Horton from afar. Draw. I hear there is a view of this with a specific announcer where no Bruins do anything wrong and all the Canucks get "speedbagged".

Posted by johnnyrock555 on January 07, 2012 at 04:37 PM

This is what the winter classic should have been like. I love watching this Boston Team play. I don't think there has been any entity in hockey this entertaining since Mario retired.

Posted by Bostonslugfest on January 07, 2012 at 08:22 PM

@Oneknightstand your an IDIOT plain and simple... and to anyone that said Thornton started it your just dumb. and to the one that said Burrows did not spear Thornton... maybe you should in fact look up what a spear is you twit

Posted by ksisiiaks on January 09, 2012 at 09:27 PM

Weise scored more but neither can out ahead. Nice fight!

Posted by soopersizeme on January 08, 2012 at 11:05 AM

Hello-new to this forum as contributor but long time visitor. Respect all of you. Looking forward to contributing. Now to the fight... Look at Burrows as he passes the door to the Bruins' bench. He appears to whack the back of Paille's skates. Thorton saw this and took exception. Good lengthy scrap, draw.

Posted by kev19 on January 07, 2012 at 05:30 PM

Some of you canuck fans are funny. weise is like your big fighter --hes on the ice with horton lucic chara thornton he somehow gets horton who can throw them but is well down our list of fighters . I was quite happy how horton stood in there and threw them even if he might of slightly lost Im not sure. Trust me it was a lot closer than if weise got the wrong partner. we saw how much he really wanted to fight thornton. the reason he got a pentally for whatever canuck fan here and garrett and his buddy is because he rolled his hands down and pretended he wanted to fight. The canuck announcers are terrible homers they just dont get as excited as Jack . Yes i know Jack is a huge homer but lets not pretend most arent . I guarantee this Jack is a way bigger fan than 95 percent of announcers.

Posted by billgoldberg14 on January 07, 2012 at 07:27 PM

I liked Sedin sneaking off the ice. They have a better video of this fight on nhl.com.

need the boston feed, wanna see that fight again hopefully not from the Bob Uecher seats.

Posted by mmadced on January 08, 2012 at 02:28 PM

hey stacey i thimk your bra is to tight. The vancouver or shall i say band of pussies have now turned down 3 fights. Burrows started the fight with a slash and thornton came in then 6 count them canucks jumped him. Lucic had 1 foot on the ice and should not have been thrown out .this was confirmed as lucic did not get a suspension afterr the game according to ESPN. So stacey you should get your facts straight and not let your bias be so obvious or pull the satin panties out of your butt. Its ashame that bad refereeing can determine who wins these big games Hey nasty you wound'nt know a spear if it was stuck up your ass Now i know why they burned their city. CITY OF COWARDS as displayed by this embarassing team. hey landry,MANCARI??? are you kidding have you ever watched a hockey game? he counld'nt beat your mother.

Posted by moneybags on January 07, 2012 at 05:30 PM

The big C stands for Cowardly......Montreal West did win the game ..THIS TIME..but their cowardice really overshadowed it...Vancover fans, burn the city tonight

Posted by 777Big on January 07, 2012 at 08:03 PM

Canucks, tuck your tails and slink back west. You did nothing but bolster your reputation as being soft. Your Captain darts off the ice at the first sign of trouble. Embarassing......

Posted by Lucic_Power on January 08, 2012 at 12:49 AM

No respect for Weise or Canucks....with what he did....definite draw!

Posted by slainte12 on January 07, 2012 at 05:11 PM

Vancouver b*tches at there usual crap all game, goading the stripes into making calls because they know they can't win an even player game. Proving my point the Canuck's scored 0 goals even handed and the Bruins scored all of there's in 5-5 or 4-4 play. So, i guess its a good strategy when you know you can't skate with the other team. Worked this time anyway. I feel bad for the western conference teams who have to put up with the canuck garbage on a more regular basis...1 game was bad enough. No wonder the rest of the NHL hates these guys! Also, i hate seeing horton fight after the concussion situation. We need him playing. He's been different ever since the rome cheapshot...

Posted by zem11 on January 08, 2012 at 09:38 PM

are you kidding me Weise you got 5 points your the 17th most penailized guy in the league and you wont fight a guy like Thorton you rather chase after Seguin and got beat by a hockey player Horton. Looooooser. It just dont get the ref's sometime there is 5 vancouver guys on Thorton before Lucic and the other guys arrive yet Boston is shorthanded,,,, I'm confused. I dont know why tough guy Buurows didnt try Thorton or tag team with Bieska againt Chara either way they still would have got beaten. For all the Canadian people out there that hate Boston, you dont mind seeing team Canada hammer the Russians, Swedes etc.... it's ols time hockey. But when the boston players hammer guys around they are dirty. Ever look at 3/4 of the teams nationality CANADIAN........

Posted by jeagle12212012 on January 08, 2012 at 02:47 PM

Weise is a coward and the only reason he fought Horton was to get Horton off the ice for 5 min. It took 6 canucks to attack shawn thornton and when he finaly got a chance to fight weise 1 on 1 he bitched out of the fight. I can't wait for the Bruins to repeat and beat the Canucks in the process

Posted by Sgtslaughter on January 07, 2012 at 04:16 PM

Weise loses his lid against the least capable fighter, then goes down. Loss Weise. He gets a chance to redeem himself but runs away from Thornton and then wonders why he gets a penalty. Burrows beaks off then gets tapped by Thornton who immediately is jumped by four Canucks....You have to be cognitively delayed to think Vancouver is anything but a bunch of punks. Since they won the game I guess the Vancouver will burn tonight. They should join the KHL where they belong.

Posted by BBB248 on January 07, 2012 at 05:01 PM

I dont know how the voting is so one-sided to Weise, they landed about the same number of punches and horton got him down twice so i'd vote a draw, but because of the one-sided voting and the takedown: Horton with the win

Posted by bear47 on January 10, 2012 at 03:53 PM

Horton in a close one. What really stands out in the video is the Canucks #33, Henrik Sedin. He starts to get involved but then heads to the bench after a couple of seconds. And that guy is supposed to be a team leader, now you know why the Canucks fold when things get tough. Talk about soft !

Posted by soupyfly on January 08, 2012 at 12:40 PM

Are you effen kidding me Sedin jumps right off the ice when he looks and see,s everyone commin to Thorntons rescue..Vancouver is just pathetic now its easy to see why they will never win a Stanly Cup with Sedin as their Captain..OOPS I mean with either sedins in their lineup..lmao

Posted by Hatebgred on January 07, 2012 at 09:00 PM

decent ffight although i dont consider horton a fighter he did score a knockdown punch and a takedown. edge horton.

Posted by montrealSUCKS on January 08, 2012 at 08:59 AM

Awesome , simply awesome haha. Great old school hockey. Draw on the lone bout but the other stuff made me smile. Can you imagine if these two teams met up again in the finals? good lord.

Posted by BruinsBeatdown on January 08, 2012 at 12:47 PM

Close scrap, but poorly filmed in Van. Horton with the W thanks to the NESN camera crew. The 5 on 1 was a real bitch move and should have got each one of the nucks players asses kicked individually.

Posted by gregm on January 08, 2012 at 01:59 PM

good going Horton... but i really would have liked to see Chara,Lucic and Thornton get ahold of burrows and lappierre and lay them out... maybe next game. Vancouver better keep there heads up!!! Those two guys were definately up to there usual tactics...

Posted by fenians79 on January 08, 2012 at 07:33 PM

Not bad.....he was WIESE to go toe to toe w/ Horton a 2nd tier brawler as he later in the game ran to hide behind the ref like a school yard nerd running for his teacher as the bully approaches. The bully in this case played by Thornton. Wiese more than willing to talk the talk when they are both in the box....then pisses himself on the ice.

Posted by laus3 on January 08, 2012 at 12:49 AM

I'm not even gonna comment on the Horton fight.... Sedin is a little bitch! Did anyone notice how fast he jumped in the bench when he saw what was going down? Wow, what a pussy!

Posted by oilersfansylvan on January 08, 2012 at 11:14 AM

Vancouver is a pathetic team trying to be what it is not, respectable men playing hockey............Vancouver = Sally's....get over it dye your jersey's pink and be done with it....Horton wins and another Sally bites the dust.......

Posted by jlmcgui on January 08, 2012 at 02:37 PM

Winner Horton just because of the chicken-$hit act by Weise on the Thornton incident. MAN-UP DOUCHE. Wanna be a "fighter", fight a fighter ... Canucks show the true-$hitbags that they ARE

Posted by bruins rule on January 07, 2012 at 11:32 PM

pretty good fight between these 2 guys.

Posted by smashem on January 08, 2012 at 06:12 PM

Pretty decent tilt, Horton lands the best but Wee-Wee throws more. Draw

Posted by stevemcgraw1 on January 08, 2012 at 09:40 AM

Burrows started all of this by hitting Thornton in the throat with his stick. 5 Canucks all go after Thorton. Bunch of Pussies. If you got the balls to hit someone in the throat with a stick then drop the gloves.

Posted by Nick_Fotiu on January 07, 2012 at 07:56 PM

Horton landed the biggest blow of an otherwise even fight. Great fight. props to both fellas. Vancouver, as usual, picked their fights smartly, shying away in their cowardly fashion from Thornton, Lucic, and McQuaid throughout, but obliging with a concussed Horton and light-middle in Campbell.

Posted by Edsmo on January 11, 2012 at 04:30 PM

This entire brohaha was ignited once again by Gutless Puke Burrows. This little peckerhead Burrows' MO is taking shots at opposing players as they skate back to their bench. Check out all the times he's done it on YouTube. That way, he can run and hide and suckle on his teammates' teats while they defend the little piss ant. The B's look forward to having another rendezvous with the Canuckle Heads in June. Until then, they'll just keep the Stanley Cup nice and clean and shiny so that it will look good when they get their names engraved on it again.

Posted by PeterMac on January 08, 2012 at 11:00 AM

Nice lengthy bout, but give the edge to Horton!!

Posted by BludyNucks on January 08, 2012 at 12:04 AM

Best part of the video was Kevin Bieksa once again not wanting any part of anyone tough. I'll jump right in and get involved, oops, sorry Chara not gonna mess with you. Now I'll jump back in the pile, oops, sorry Lucic don't want any part of you either. Anyone seen Patrick Marleau or Viktor Stalberg, I'll fight them. Where's Marc Savard, I'll fight him, Sergei Samsonov anyone?

Posted by AndrewIsLegend on January 07, 2012 at 04:19 PM

Stacey B watch the video again and you will clearly see six Canucks jumping Thornton after Burrows speared Thornton in the throat. The Bruins don't put up with that kind of stuff and Burrows is lucky he didn't get knocked out.

Posted by LordStanley63 on January 07, 2012 at 04:18 PM

Burrows the coward he is swings his stick at the toughest player(guy who can fight and play hockey, not just fight) in the NHL. Swings his stick when hes as close to INSIDE his bench as possible and expects nothing to happen. Horton PUMPED and i mean PUMPED weise. if lucic got tossed so should lapierre coming off his bench clearly in the video for sedin sister. another dive fest all night long from the leagues most pussy team. congratulations for making a mockery of the game we all love for the last 4 years. good job vancouver. Embarrass Canada more than the Montreal Canadians...

Posted by pattyd on January 07, 2012 at 08:35 PM

my fav part of this video is Bieska's super-glued gloves. his gloves fly off when facing Marleau and Stalberg but surprisingly they stay on when line brawl breaks out against Bs. Funny how that works! #coward

Posted by jmh6975 on January 08, 2012 at 01:07 PM

staceyb, you are so wrong. Burrows started this by hitting Paille while he was going to the bench. Thornton decided he didn't like it and slashed him. Then Burrows was dumb enough to put his stick blade to Shawn Thorntons throat. Lucic was wrongfully thrown out and I'm sure you feel stupid saying that in your original post. Did you not see the 7 Canucks in the scrum? Suspensions should be dealt out to them. You should really watch it before you start bad mouthing the Stanley cup champs. Boldbilly- You're a moron

Posted by gas6569 on January 23, 2012 at 06:45 AM

Maybe the Canucks could have picked a better 5 guys to mess with Go B's

Posted by homeland on January 13, 2012 at 08:14 AM

Fight was very close. Really classy of the Canucks to attack Thornton 6 v 1. I see no one wanted to dance with him 1 on 1 at that point or later in the game.

Posted by ssully1618 on January 07, 2012 at 05:30 PM

sorry voters but horton did not lose in fact he won. he connected with more punches. weiss was bleeding. what even contributes to hortons win is how badly he bailed out when thornton challenged him later on. it was embarrasing for me to watch weiss turn tomato red and nearly cry, almost cried when thornton called him into the ring. i even saw sedin give him one of his tissues from the bench. in the locker room after the period i am sure they had a team cry together. all in all horton won the fight. the canucks cried throughout the game. they also did not win the game, the refs did. this game is embarrassing for the NHL and shows every sign of the fairy-fication of america since i cannot use a better word. lapierre jump in your fireplace, your own family wife and kids are ashamed of how feminine you are, ballard too.

Posted by lbachand on January 08, 2012 at 07:34 AM

I have never commented on a fighter because even if you get whoop. I respect the fact that you stuck up for your mates. BUT with that being said what Dale did with Thorton calling him on then skating away like alittle PUSSY is as bush leagues as it gets. Hey Canucks management if this is your tuff guy maybe you might want to check out the riot films and get a real tuff guy or woman. please... BTW horton is the sixth tuffest on the team and he rocked your tuff guy. JUST SAD!!!

Edge to Horton, he knocked dale wuss down with a hard right, burrows looks afraid for his life when Lucic challenges him, canucks are the biggest bunch of pussies, 5 of them jump on thornton at once wtf is that!!! Someone should have thrown a box of tampons into their bench

Anyone notice the Canucks had 6 players on the ice and then chickencrap Sedin sneaks onto the bench after they all the scrapping starts. Lucic should have beaten all their faces in.

Posted by Hoggo24 on January 08, 2012 at 11:42 AM

The fight was basically a draw, but I give the win to Horton for the final takedown. Go B's!

Posted by onelove on January 10, 2012 at 10:33 AM

Staceyb... How did Thornton instigate? Burrows hit Paille on the ankle then Thornton did the same to Burrows. Then Burrows stuck his stick towards Thorntons neck. Obviously Thornton going to go after his after that. And Lucic was rightfully tossed out? Really? It was a legal line change and the NHL agreed. Vancouver had six guys out there and they didn't get anything.

Posted by kyzyr on January 08, 2012 at 01:12 AM

How do any of you dirty Canuck fans think that Horton lost this fight? Weise's only job in the NHL is to try to fight, and Horton beat him...lol. Canucks are the dirtest, cheapest team in the NHL. How can anyone enjoy watching cry baby cheap shots. Thats right Sedin a fights going on, skate away now, I wish Chara, being the team captain and all, would do that...hahahahahaaaaaaa. Oh wait hes not scared little biatch!

Posted by Mafferson on March 13, 2013 at 01:09 PM

Brutal and Epic! Easily a candidate for fight of the year. Only wish that Chara wasn't such a wuss. He should have started slugging instead of putting people in headlocks and playing grab-ass. Weise narrowly loses this fight to Horton due to the takedown. It also must be said that Thorton started the shenanigans by whacking a player who's back is turned to him (coward move) and then throwing a temper tantrum like a little girl when Burrows responds face to face (like a man) to him. Boston fans then whine about ensuing 5-3 situation......well......learn how to play hockey instead of being good fighters ;)

Posted by EdNo on January 10, 2012 at 05:12 PM

a quality hard-fought very close marathon to close to call by virtue of the punch that knocked Weasel down ...too bad Weasel backed down like a Puke when Thorton challengeed him...Weasel's lie that he was gonna go with Quaid makes no sense: Why did you keep your gloves on after pretending to shake them off dikkhead?! typical of the "boys" which make up the VAGcouver Canucks organ-I-zation Memo to "BoldBilliy": Your stupidity comes shining through bra, umm bro... Thorton is a LEGITIMATE Policeman who has fought and beaten Orr, Boogaard, Neil, etc., and would ABSOLUTELY ( check it out MORON I use Caps when i want to make an emphatic point, not for the whole narrative, DOOSHBAG)... and you LOST BOTH fights in the game... oh and btw WE HAVE THE CUP you pathetic loser HAHAHA

Hamburger Head Horton ( concussion wise) After Rome KO'd him last year, fights with his head in his chest, why? Another concussion? Admiring the place where he was laying last spring? Only Horton Hears a Who knows, regardless, a lot of Canuck haters here today, bitter and sour over Burrows, Sedin's and so forth. Burrows was doing his job, being a pest, hence the 5 on 3, hence the go ahead goal. Cry me a river, Bruins got beat at home. Horton gets beat again. Game Over

Posted by hughcares on January 08, 2012 at 09:28 AM

Vancouver goes after Thorton like any team should have - who cares if fives guys jumped him - thats what a team does. P*ssies are a team like Buffalo that stands around after the goalie gets run. Hal29 you really don't have to write a whole page of commentary you clown - shut the f*ck up.

Have to call this one a draw. The biggest hoax in the NHL is that Kevin Bieksa is tough. Wanted no part of a brawl, unless like another commenter said the "Stalberg- Marleau-Dubinsky" line was out there. Made sure his gloves were on so all Bruins were sure he wasn't looking to fight, especially when referee and linesman were busy with others and couldn't stop someone from beating his a$$. Look at who he has fought over the last 4-5 years and most are a bunch of non fighters, those who have had some fighting ability, he has not beaten. Want nothing more than to see someone pound the crap out of him. Canucks are still the reigning cheap shot artists in hockey with a classless coach and GM.

Posted by honest truth on January 07, 2012 at 07:21 PM

Dale Weise?Really? Its time for Horton to just grab a Sedin and watch. He lost to 170 lb Rinaldo and DALE WEISE.

Posted by Westcoast_Goon on January 07, 2012 at 02:28 PM

Weise did more than poke the bear. He punched it several times in the face. Edge Weise

Posted by DARCY T on January 13, 2012 at 08:07 AM

horton got a better start but weise took over shortly after that.its tough to see from a distance how many of those punches landed.my votes goes to weise edit: after watching that second feed it confirms my earlier decision.edge weise.he landed more punches

Posted by mrunohoo on January 07, 2012 at 11:07 PM

I can't believe that Chara didn't get penalized. I swear sometimes he's a complete madman, and so far there hasn't been anyone around hte league that can step up and put him in his place. Bruins fans are just like their Homer announcer Jack Edwards. Homers. My guess is most (if not all) are total douchebags. Gloat all you want about how much "tougher" your team is. I'm sure you've been looking for someone to pick on since you got out of grade school. Homers. What happened to old time hockey? You know Toe Blake?

Posted by tpr1960 on January 08, 2012 at 10:17 AM

Uh Oh Bruin homers out in force again. One cup in 40 years and they think it is hockey heaven, it ain't. Can Thornton actually skate?

Posted by srehm1 on January 16, 2012 at 10:57 AM

Long battle resulting from a scrum. Lots of punches. Both fighters appeared to get stunned in this one.

Posted by brymaster1 on January 08, 2012 at 05:31 PM

Horton goes 0-2 on the year

Posted by Canuck-One on January 15, 2012 at 05:48 PM

I watched the video over and over and it appears that the Bruins had 5 guys in the scrum. If that's the case, when if Horton is fighting Weise doesn't that make 6 guys on the ice for Boston? I think the refs got it right when they threw Lucic out for coming back onto the ice to join the fight. Either that or his substitute should have gone, but either way the Bruins had too many men on the ice.

Posted by Willy WILL on January 07, 2012 at 04:14 PM

Good fight ....long fight give the edge to Weise but it was a close one. I wouldn't say Vancouver stood up for themselves all that well but its a start. Win Weise

Posted by woodg90 on January 07, 2012 at 11:25 PM

Good tilt. Gotta give the edge to Weise for sure. But not by a lot. Giving up size and height he pulls out the win.

Posted by vangodard28 on January 07, 2012 at 07:50 PM

VERY unexpected from Weise! After his poor performances earlier this year, he took a break for about 2 months and then takes on a very respectable opponent in Horton and gets the edge. Wow.

Posted by kinga101 on January 08, 2012 at 02:25 AM

A very close and pretty good fight. Both seemed to land some decent shots. Not sure why Thornton didn't get a misconduct since he basically started the altercation. Marchand with another diirty cheap shot that the Bruin homers don't mention in their comments. This will probably go unpunished as usual. Marchand has the flu and I was hoping the "puke" would puke on the ice in front of everyone. By the way, is Rask a girl? He (she) sure looks like one.

Posted by Blackbeard101 on January 07, 2012 at 07:46 PM

Weise with the win based on more solid punches landed...that left uppercut nailed Horton squarely in the mush and when Weise slipped down he actually connected with a solid right that seemed to stagger Horton. Thornton initiated this melee with his slash...Burrows retaliated and then Thornton threw the sucker punch to ignite it all. All you Boston fans keep whining about the Canucks being pansies...take a look at the final stats for the cup series last year...Vancouver had the decided edge in total hits....get your facts straight, you whiny homers. Boston has nothing to whine about when it comes to officiating...they own the ref's. I am sick of hearing about Rome's so-called cheap shot...it was a clean hit with his shoulder to the chest of Horton. The damage was done when Horton hit his head on the ice. If you want to talk cheap shots, how about Peverly's cheap two handed slash to the back of Bieksa's knees...how about Chara's cheap shot on Paciorety...how about Marchand's slew foot and his submarine hit on Salo.....the Bruins homers have nothing to whine about; I hope they sent the League Officials some Christmas presents for their obvious generosity!

Posted by ironface on January 07, 2012 at 03:17 PM

Weise takes on the least capable fighter the B's have on the ice at the moment and barely escapes with the win. Later in the period he runs away from Thornton and gets an unsportsmanlike call for his cowardice. He is a disgrace and I am not even a Bruins fan.

Posted by Custombreaks on January 08, 2012 at 02:39 AM

The league better test Thornton for drugs. What a goof.

Posted by zolofarm on January 09, 2012 at 10:10 AM

Weise wins with activity and connection rate. Close fight. The thugs of the NHL at it again (Boston) The fact that Boston doesnt have 10 + penalties a game should show how much the NHL adores Boston.

Posted by dhogie33 on January 08, 2012 at 06:40 PM

I know boston is a tough team, but I am sick of the Thorntons, Lucic's and Chara's taking on non fighters. Hey Lucic, play the role against George LaRaque tough guy. Thornton, learn the code tough guy, can't wait for ya to take that beating thats coming to ya. Chara, you act like a tough guy "big guy" against the Lapierres and Burrow's lol

Posted by FaxCap on January 07, 2012 at 04:15 PM

Bruins fans need to get the F*CK out of here, No way was this a win for Horton. You can argue a draw or win Weise.

Posted by nuckles88 on January 09, 2012 at 02:03 AM

First time ive been happy with a weise scrap. Horton lands a big one but its all weise until they both fall at the end. Horton was taking some serious blows and knew he was losing so he just grabs weise. Bottom line, close bout but the win goes to Weise.... Finally

Posted by rocky 1 on January 08, 2012 at 05:28 PM

Very good long scrap and i give Weise the edge in this close tilt!

Posted by plubber on February 24, 2013 at 06:11 PM

You cannot get punched directly in the face that many times, then spit some teeth out, and be declared a winner. I'm not sure what fight some of you wee watching. Easy decision for Weise.

Posted by GreatMurray on January 08, 2012 at 07:12 AM

I really like the way Boston plays Hockey, except not today. I really hate the way Vancouver plays hockey, except not today. Boston has a pack mentality when it comes to rallying around each other. That's a really good thing. Boston plays a very physical, marginally dirty game. That's a great thing!!! Today Boston went way past marginal and they allowed themselves to be outsmarted. The lost their cool, they crossed the margin and stayed there and they lost the game. I'm not a Boston fan but Marchand is one of my favorite players. He reminds me of Tiger WIlliams or Kenny Linsman but he can score too. Except today! He deserves a 5 game suspension for sure. Being chippy and nasty is cool. Doing stuff that can hurt another player...not so much. Weise won the fight. Horton pulled him out of the scrum and they went at it. Great fight! Horton was really good and Weise was only slightly better. Coming back up off the ice and popping Horton gave Weise the edge in my view. Had the officials given Shawn Thornton the gate Boston may have won that game....he kept everything out of whack for his team. It was between him and Marchand as to who hurt the team worse. Finally, am I the only person that believes the Sedin brothers are the two most sissified euro-weenies ever to play in the NHL. The rest of the Canucks tried to feed Boston a little physicality. The first shift a Sedin had should have been a stick jab and go with Marchand. Instead they both played like frightened children the whole game and they sucked. If I were their mates I would be ashamed to be seen in public with either one of them.

Posted by Camper on January 07, 2012 at 04:59 PM

Man even in the comments you gotta love this rivalry. As a Canucks fan, we've spent too many years without real playoff rivalries that we have now like Boston and Chicago. Tons of fun to watch. Thornton clearly started the brawl. Lucic doesn't really deserve the suspension he had a foot on the ice when it started. Henrik was smart to go off though, there could have been a suspension there to him or Lapierre. Shockingly not only does Dale Weise win a fight, he wins a relatively entertaining fight.

Posted by JuddWudd on January 07, 2012 at 03:01 PM

Posted by jmackisback on January 08, 2012 at 08:54 PM

WTF? Horton leading the polls? Either the poll was hacked or all the Bruins nuthuggers are butthurt that they lost this game. Crystal clear win for Weise against a much bigger opponent.

Posted by Bloodbank on January 08, 2012 at 07:49 PM

Huge slash by Burrows on Paille to start this melee. Thornton asks, 'What gives?' Burrows spears him in the throat, then turtles to the ice after a gentle push from Scott. Lucic never comes close to leaving the ice and wades in to save the day. Horton gets mad and beats up Dale Weise. Wait a minute. I'm not a Boston beat writer. The above is all fiction. Burrows taps Paille on the shins. Thornton slashes Burrows. Burrows slashes at Thornton but misses. Thornton punches Burrows. Scrum ensues. Weise and Horton go at it in a close one. Edge Weise for landing the best shots. (PS - Sedinfan is NOT a Canuck fan)

Posted by craigers on January 08, 2012 at 01:06 PM

Great fight! Weise landed more blows. Horton loses when he clearly could take no more and resorted to the takedown. Weise outlasted him. Horton won't do that again.

Posted by kkdowning on January 08, 2012 at 09:56 AM

The Horton -- Weise fight was a loooong draw. Weise did better than expected. However, Weise chickened out when Thorton tried to go with him later in the game -- he did a head fake and Thorton dropped the mitts and Weise skated away backwards calling for a ref!!!

Posted by SFVflyers88 on January 07, 2012 at 02:41 PM

Good old fashion donnybrook!!!

Posted by spughetti on January 07, 2012 at 06:48 PM

The whole thing began after Burrows speared Thornton with his stick as they were getting off the ice. Thornton understandably retaliated by reaching over and clocking Burrows, then was ganged up on by 6 Canucks before any Bruins got in there. If anyone was being cheap, it was the Canucks, but as far as this fight goes it was a pretty even bout. Both players got good shots in. While I'd call it a draw, Weise had the edge. For his fighting aptitude, Horton definitely put up a good fight. Sad to see Weise punk out when challenged by Thornton later in the game in a cowardly effort to draw the penalty on Thornton.

Gotta love these Canadian girls suddenly trying to get tough -- what was that five guys on top of Thornton -- oh ya, must have been four because one of the sissy Sedins was on the ice. Lots of credit to Lucic for jumping in. I guess at the end all any Bruin had to do was point upwards... at the 2011 Stanley Cup Banner. Win Horton.

Posted by juelz19 on January 07, 2012 at 11:01 PM

Good fight for both players, evenly fought. Good to see Weise put up a decent fight against a respectable player after his previous track record. As for all you Vancouver haters, do you expect Weise to go hunting for Thornton or Chara? He grabbed the closest player who came into the altercation, which happened to be Horton. And Horton actually wasn't the worst fighter on the ice, unless you guys consider Krejci or Corvo to be a better fighters. Seriously take off your homer glasses, it's easier to wipe the tears that some of you seem to have.

Posted by claire alexande on January 10, 2012 at 04:40 PM

Let's see...Weise fights an actual hockey player, gets knocked down, cut, and takes more punches. Yet you nuck crackheads claim he won. If you lot weren't so pathetic, you'd be funny. Weise at least dropped the mitts...tuff bottom Bitchka couldn't find a little girl to fight so kept his gloves on; Burrows starts the whole thing and then runs away as usual; sedin clinches his pussy of the decade award; weise having lost this one uses it as an excuse to humiliate himself later on by declining to fight Thornton because his vadge was sore. All this game proves is that the capukes can con power plays out of incompetent officials during the regular season. Big whoop. --------- dbhof--Let's see: Thornton gets jumped by a gaggle of fairies and Boston comes out of it short-handed where the Capukes get one of their non-even-strength goals. Lucic gets tossed for no reason. Marchand gets a major on a play the Nucks specialize in (well, that and swallowing hockey sticks, just for practice, you know). But the reffing didn't affect the outcome of the game. Right. _______ A tired, pretty mediocre team with several key players out got mangled even more than their most hard-core fans thought they'd be by the best team in the league firing on all cylinders. That's my response to the 9-0 debacle. Maybe the Flames wanted Ivanans to get pounded into next year so he'd have to retire and they could use the contract spot for a hockey player. We're still waiting for your response about the cowardice of Burrows, Kebbie, Weise, etc. The reek of vaginal deoderant from the Nuck dressing room is really getting quite overpowering.

Posted by legend22 on January 08, 2012 at 09:18 AM

thorntons slash to leg is returned with a slash to the head. Then there are six canucks on him but no third man in penalty. A good fight ensues with Horton getting the better on this one but not by much. Must be a lot of canuck fans voting in this one.

Posted by homerunman on January 12, 2012 at 06:54 PM

I love how the entire Vancouver side jumps Thornton before any Bruins can get over...the main fight was pretty even, but I'll give the win to Horton b/c of the knockdown. Lol at the end, Lucic with the headlock...

Posted by Puckstopper30 on January 08, 2012 at 06:45 PM

edge to Horton....not bad for a guy for which fighting is not his role. Weise showed his gutless self running away from Thornton. Six guys on Thornton?....let Burrows and LaPierre fight the battles they create. Bs should have forgot about the game and just pounded the team everybody hates.

Posted by ser on January 08, 2012 at 11:42 AM

canucks are gutless, plain and simple. anyone who says otherwise clearly didnt watch this video. all those guys jumped on Thornton it was 5 on 1 and the Bruins proved why you dont mess with them. canucks are garbage and absolutely classless, lapierre might be the worst of em all, him and burrows those two guys are a joke. Win Horton in a slugfest, and by the way what a loser weise is for not dropping the gloves with Thornton later on, absolute girls from vancouver

Posted by fernben8 on January 08, 2012 at 01:00 PM

You don't get to see much of them anymore but I love these old fashion brawls... First off, it was Burrows who started it all by giving the stick to Paille's leg and Thornton saw it. I know it's not his job but LOL how Sedin conveniently tip-toed to the bench when bodies were flying. I feel he should have stayed on to support his teamates in the heat of the moment. As for the fight, giving it a Draw for a great effort by both. Not sure but Horton may have knocked Weise down to his knees at .45 seconds. Last, horrible choice of camera angle by the producer. It looked like we were watching from the nose bleed section. You need quality shots, not quantity.

Posted by staceyb on January 07, 2012 at 03:59 PM

I was watching the game and thought it was a replay of the Stanley Cup finals. Lo and behold, the fight ignited four minutes in and man was it ever nasty with the Bruins bully boys ganging up on Burrows. In this separate side fight, in spite of the bleeding I thought Weise outpointed Horton. It was Thornton who instigated the fight--Lucic was rightfully tossed out.

Posted by chad420 on January 11, 2012 at 09:39 AM

win Horton...real good back and forth bout....Cowardly Canucks

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on January 08, 2012 at 09:51 PM

NHL Network's awful camera-work aside, nice tilt here, I'll give the edge to Horton over Weise, who showed his true colors later in the game when he chickened out against Thornton. Just a shameful display by Burrows and the other three Canucks on the ice who piled on Thornton, who could probably kick all their asses at once. The ensuing 5-on-3 was an absolute joke, and cost the Bruins one of their best players and the game while the Canucks got virtually nothing. But a slight win for Horton here.

Posted by mudman55 on January 07, 2012 at 06:38 PM

I thought Horton hung in there with Wiese, who is much tougher than a lot of us think. staceyb, what were you watching? Thornton whacks Burrows in the leg, Burrows goes for his throat, and then six....SIX... Canucks jump Thornton, and Lucic gets tossed because Sedin stepped into the bench. Get your head out of your a$$. Yes, Thornton started it. But don't stand here and defend Burrows.
